I like Abe s. From the people in the fly shop to the service in the restaurant It s all good. The accommodations are always clean and a great value. Bed was comfortable also. They are a staple in the community and well worth revisiting.

This is the best deal for a room at the San Juan River Area. The rooms have a small kitchenette. With a nice little fly shop. Beware the restaurant is closed in the winter.

Spent two days with fly guide John Spears (called in the big guns) in some frigid temps and high water but without fail, he put us on some fish! Although we never pulled Turd Ferguson from the depths of the San Juan, our boat was like a leprechaun's pot of gold with all the rainbows we were catching. If you're planning a fishing trip on the San Juan, call Abe's fly shop and ask for John Spears. The only thing this guy cares about is your experience and making it the best it can be! John, we'll be back, thanks buddy!

Great at what they do. Prices are very reasonable and you can get good hardy meals in the restaurant. Accommodations also reasonably priced and are adequate to the task. Clean but basic. Swamp cooler for our room was in-op but we were able to cool off and slept well at night. Fly shop is well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Fly prices were very reasonable. Our fishing guide was expert, friendly, and hard-working working. Fishing was very crowded but our guide navigated around the many other boats and kept us focused on playing chunky, hard-fighting rainbows.

I have to admit not the best amenities, and had a few negative issues. It is very pretty friendly and fisherman/Hunter friendly. The staff are friendly and accommodate most any request if possible. The restaurant is competitively priced and decent meal good burgers. The store more of a gift shop but clean and interesting nice hats and shirts. I really enjoyed the stay right near the river, they have locked area for boats, and have an RV park and storage.

A bit dated but clean and close to the lake. Nice people running the place and plenty of parking for a truck/boat. Our friends stayed in the RV park within easy walking distance which was also very handy. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were. Slept like a rock. Will definitely stay here again.

I've stayed at Abe's RV park several days each of the last eight years because of it's close proximity to the San Juan River. The park is marginally improved with 30amp service and it is generally dirty. The store is provisioned with all necessary goods to enjoy your stay at reasonable prices; and the little cabins seem clean and in reasonable repair for their age. Staff is friendly!

This Motel and Fly Shop offer excellent value for lodging, food, and fly fishing guides. The rooms are basic and clean. The food at their restaurant is very flavorful and the waiting staff is super kind. Gordon was our guide for three days and he got us into tons of fish everyday. My dad and I netted multiple 20 rainbow trout due to his high quality guiding. I look forward to returning next year.

Abe's is great. In town for a week and stopped off here daily for ice, beer, and gas. They have covered boat storage at a great price, fishing gear, and most other things you'll need on the water. The staff is friendly and the accept credit cards.

We just had a three night stay at Abe's and had two days guided floating with Randy Roberts. The motel is clean and the food in the cafe, and the lunches, are great. You can't beat the service at the cafe. The store has a relevant selection of flies and gear to buy at a good rate. Randy was a great guide and will teach you something new no matter the length of your fly fishing experience. We had two days floating the river with Randy and caught some great trout! I look forward to doing this again.

Store isn't huge but they have a lot of variety. Shirts, hats fishing supplies, snacks, etc. People are always super friendly. I live the neighborhood and always pop in to that store. It is clean and well organized. I have never stayed in any of their hotel rooms.

Friendly owners. A lot of fishing stuff for everything you would need there. There are also a lot of basics and camping stuff, not to mention novelties. This place is unique as there is a place to stay, eat, and buy everything you need in one place. Priced up for the area so you can expect that as well since it's not in town of course. Overall cool place with cool things.

While on a recent fly fishing trip, we stayed here for 3 nights. Price was right. Not a lot of bling, but the essentials were there and the beds were comfortable. Their restaurant, the EL Pescador, had excellent food and a very friendly staff. I'm a loyal Abe's customer and I'm happy we stayed here.

Wonderful place that I have been a patron of for more than 20 years. Everyone there is more than happy to help and always with a smile on their face. It's nice to go to a cozy room after a long day on the river. Store has everything you need and then some. If you forget your waders they will rent you a pair. Look forward to visiting them for at least another 20 years. I forgot to mention how wonderful their breakfast burritos are in their restaurant El Pescador. If you haven't had one you better try one cuz you're going to need the energy to catch them River Monsters out there.

Horrible horrible customer service. Skinny white lady with short white hair needs better service and not a prissy attitude. We have stopped by numerous times and now the past 2 times have been horrible. Very rude and attitude and demeanor are very sorry. I will be getting my supplies elsewhere now before coming up to SJ river or dam. I don't know if color is the reason but her attitude is sorry. I will def let others know to go elsewhere.

My partner and I stayed at Abe's for a weekend at Navajo Lake. It's a dive, but well worth the affordable cost. We had a kitchenette with a sink and a refrigerator, cable in the room, and the little store, gass station and restaurant attached make it easy to get essentials. If you're there to fish, it's close to the river and a short drive to the lake. There is plenty of space to park a boat and plug it in to charge your battery. The surrounding area is beautiful.

I just saw that Abe's was closed. So sad! I started going there in 1975 and stayed there dozens of times. Tim sold me my first fly rod when he was probably in his teens and I continued to patronize the business several times every year until I moved out of state 6 years ago. I remember seeing Abe and his wife cleaning rooms when I was there the first time. Lots of fond memories.

Abe's is a great place to stop when you're heading to Navajo Lake State Park, but it's the ONLY place to stop and you pay the price! So be prepared for high prices, especially the gas! But the staff are very friendly and super knowledgeable. You can also get your fishing license there, that's a bonus!

Basic motel that provides all the necessities at a fair price. The team in the shop is great! Knowledgeable about the river and happy to suggest places to fish and what to tie on... Which is what you ought to be doing if you're staying here!

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to a major player of the San Juan river area. Abe will truly be missed. Being a customer for over 30 years, he always had a great story or even greater advice on what to use for some great fishing! My condolences to the Family.

Caters to the fly fishermen trying their luck on the San Juan. Gasoline is available here and fishing paraphernalia of all types can be bought here as well. The gem is the attached restaurant, excellent food and service. Real New Mexican cuisine well prepared and full of flavor.
