What a gorgeous, peaceful campground. It was so much fun feeding the deer, seeing beautiful little fawns, watching the turkeys march across the paths and feeling the cool breeze under the gorgeous mature trees. The manager, Jill and her husband Jim were the perfect park hosts and were friendly and attentive to every detail. They went out of their way to show curtesy and always had a big smile for everyone. Don t miss out on this beautiful gem in the New Mexico mountainsNearby activities: Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, hiking, wild horses and elkSafety: Quiet, peaceful, no drama and everyone looks out for each otherNoteworthy details: Beautiful scenery and fantastic host Jill!

Only leaving a review to warn others to be aware of this campground employee Jill and owner Yvonne. Our family booked back in April and had to cancel 3 weeks before our trip due to some unfortunate circumstances. Our confirmation email clearly stated a refund policy up to two weeks prior to the reservation with a 5% processing fee. The office staff became very ugly towards my family member when my family member explained to her that she had called three weeks ago to cancel and were told we would be receiving our refund. She began stating that refunds were never given and there was no way she spoke to anyone at the office. We explained our email proof of their policy and that we would like to speak to the owner where she replied that the owner was very tough and didn t even refund a veteran who had gotten in an accident. (So much for being veteran friendly) No one wanted to own up to their mistake when we have proof of a phone call and just wanted to say we were liars because there was absolutely no way we could have canceled in a two minute conversation. The owner has just as terrible customer service and will continue to blame the customer even though it was an office mistake. It s honestly not even about the refund at this point more about how ugly and disrespectful they became towards their paying customers. Just beware who you give your money too. I will tell all my family and friends just how awful we were treated and to never visit this park.

I feel it necessary to share, very poor customer service. My family and I booked for a stay in July back in April of this year. I received a confirmation email when I booked in April stating a refund policy up to two weeks prior to the reservation would be honored with a 5% processing fee. See attached photos.I called three weeks prior to our reservation to cancel due to a change in family circumstances in which I was told the cancellation was confirmed and requested a refund at that time which I was told would be honored . July came around and I was told that I had not cancelled, Jill the office manager was very accusatory and essentially accused me of lying and not making the call to cancel previously. I was then put in contact with the owner Yvonne who stated if I provided proof of a call log she would honor the refund because of the wrong template being used in their confirmation email. Normally they do not give refunds, only credits for one year. After multiple exchanges of emails with the owner she stated that it was not possible I called and cancelled because my call log only showed a two minute conversation. I asked her to reconsider because it was her staffs mistake for not making the notation and she refused. She stated only a credit would be given.I m sure the park is beautiful but after this exchange and display of poor customer service I have no intentions of visiting.

The resort grounds are beautiful. Spaces are great and all are pull through. Reliable electric, water, and sewer. Gravel / rocky sites but level. Plush grass and good privacy. Awesome dog park and picnic area by the river. There is absolutely no cell service so to connect to the outside world you have to have satellite phones, internet, or use park wifi. That said, the wifi is horrible unless you in the office/club house. The clubhouse is very worn out and not too comfy to chill out in. The staff, we found, were not at all friendly and honestly quite rude whenever we interacted them. When asked if we had been there before and said no, a sheet was just nearly thrown at us by the woman at the desk with the words "well then you're gonna need to read all that." She didn't even say welcome, how are you, glad you're here, nothing. She further didn't even wave back when she'd drive by on her golf cart around the grounds. And then when we returned DVD's to the club house and said thank you she didn't even acknowledge our presence. The guy who escorted us to our site just hung around once we parked then rudely said "well, are you done?" I guess he was curious if we were done manuevering? With more cordial staff we would return. With friendlier staff and wifi that actually reached the rv sites we would absolutely return if in the area.

Pros: Very clean. Very nice resort. Pet and children friendly. Laundry center. Pool table. beverages offered in the clubhouse, as well as one shower and men/women restroom. They sell ice. Great DVD selection to borrow from. Many books to borrow. Excellent fire pit area at the clubhouse. Friendly staff and manager. Pull through sites. Starlink internet/phone available at the clubhouse only, which is free and FAST. Electric/water/sewage hook-ups at every site.Cons: very poor WiFi at your site. No Verizon reception, just FYI. A little pricey for sites that lack views.

If you are looking for a beautiful valley and a lovely rural campground, you will love Deer Springs. Full service sites include mature trees, a picnic table and plenty of space. And yes, deer and other wildlife surround you in this peaceful oasis. We used the resort as a home base to make day trips to White Sands, Carlsbad and other nature sites. We were there for three nights, but many RVs are there for the season...and we could see why. The hosts were low-key and very helpful prior to and during our stay. There is a nice laundry (be sure to have quarters handy) and a clean shower in the main building.

As stated in other reviews, this is a beautiful camp with large trees at each site. Lovely valley with beautiful nature scenery surrounding the park. Sites are large, pull through, and long enough for RV and toad. Full hookups conveniently located at each site. We have enjoyed this quiet and restful environment. The park is well maintained by the camp hosts. There is a clean laundry room, bathrooms, office area and lovely covered porch. Have not stayed at a park so well maintained in our travels. If you need Internet for on-line work or streaming, check out PVT. They provide, at reasonable price, excellent Internet access. The camp managers, Chuck and Sandy, are friendly and helpful. Have a problem? They will help.We made reservations for one month and soon decided to stay a second month. Reservations for next summer already in place.

Very peaceful, great community of campers. All hookup needs. Spacious; privacy; plenty of room to pull into. The grounds also recently changed owner, Chris was very hospitable and friendly. Highly recommend for those who want serene atmosphere. Plenty of nature to enjoy, deer, hummingbirds, blue jay's, and river flowing behind the property. Recommend for quiet campers; $60/night

Beware of this park "resort". We called to make a reservation and we were told we had to pay for our stay at that time, we have been RVing for about 7 years now and this is a first. Next we were told if we needed to cancel we wouldn't get a refund we were told it would be a credit for a future stay. Never have I paid anywhere before our arrival it's always been once you have gotten that we pay Never beforehand. Then she sent us a list of rules that sounded like we couldn't blink or we would be charged and the topping on the cake was a $30.00 dollar cleaning fee after you left . Wow we will not return to this place and I'll make sure to let our friends about this matter of doing business. Stay away as beautiful as this park is its not worth the rates or paying up front for our site. Better parks or in Ruidoso and you won't get nickle and dimed like this place wants to.I will definitely enjoy Ruidoso where they are friendly and accept criticism.

We stayed in the early fall for 5 nights and we truly enjoyed our stay. We saw deer every morning and evening around the resort. The facilities are very clean and well kept. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. The camp hosts are so helpful and very friendly. We will defiinitely return for another visit!

Perfect experience for the 4th of July weekend, quiet, cool temperatures, fun visitors to mingle with, room for the kids to ride their bikes around. We love to support veteran-owned, local organizations and Chris the owner was the best! We are anxious to stay here again in the very near future.

Very friendly staff and a really beautiful area. Nice big trees and we got an end spot, so we could see the field area with the mule deer. Nice that most are pull through. Spaces were a bit tight, for our big bus and tow vehicle, but with some maneuvering, we made it work. Hope to go back soon. Beautiful mountain area.

I stayed here for two nights. The first night was nice and quiet. The second evening and the following morning was not. The camp host, possible owner of the resort let their dogs bark at every person/dog that walked by their site. Also, they had some friends stay in the resort in their fifth wheel as well. They had 5 dogs with them. The camp hosts and friends left the resort for over an hour and left their dogs outside. Their dogs barked the whole time. Also, quiet hours are until 0800 (posted). However, their dogs were barking all morning before 0800.I don't blame the dogs for this, I blame the owners! The goal for the weekend was to get some peace and quiet time. It was not possible. If you're looking for peace and quiet. I suggest looking somewhere else. Dog friendly doesn't mean let your dog bark at any and everything.

This is a very special place! The new site host, Bruce, was very welcoming. We even met the new owner, Chris, who stopped by to welcome us.The main building is clean and charming with laundry facilities. Our campsite was a pull thru with full hook-ups, trees and grass along one side, which worked perfectly for our 35 motorhome. The trash receptacles are located on the far side of the property, which took a bit to find in the dark. It seems as though there are several long term guests. The best part for us happened around 8am when 20+ deer walked through the park to the river that borders the property. Nature at its best. Bruce said that they do this twice a day. We missed it the first day as we arrived after sunset. With that said, we were treated to an amazing display of stars!!

Beautiful park, quiet & peaceful. We stayed in the off season (early April 2021). Only a few folks there. Deer roam freely through the park. Camp managers were very nice older couple, very knowledgeable & personable. Price very high. Not much near as far as hiking or fishing. Rio Penasco runs through back of park but no fishing allowed.

Lovely, peaceful setting. Easy maneuvering, level spaces. Caters to seniors and longer term visits, but it was also nice for 1 night. Mature shade trees throughout. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is that there were tons of flies, so being outside without a screened enclosure wasn't pleasant. That may just be seasonal in June. Friendly owners and hosts.

We were just passing by when we ran into car trouble and pulled into Deer Springs. Jill and Alan went above and beyond to help us out and the park is beautiful.

This is a beautiful, clean, well planned RV campground in the quiet little town of Mayhill, NM(just 20 minutes from Cloudcroft). But you will pay more here as the prices keep going up. No cell service( we have Verizon) and the WIFI is only good in the office area. People are super friendly and the local deer population come visit the camp almost every night.

We really enjoyed our stay at Deer Springs. The facilitators were helpful and friendly. Also, this a very beautiful park with a river, waterfalls and a nice relaxing feel. We will be going back to visit for sure!

This is a beautiful park. Complete with upwards of 21 mule deer just wandering around the property. Very clean and well maintained. I only take away 1 star due to the rules. Not because of the rules but just BT the way they come across. A little mean spirited. But I guess without it, folks would trash it up. But I will say third is first class customer service. Jimmy was even so kind as to offer a ride to the garbage bin. These folks are service oriented without being overly intrusive.

I have been a semi-permanent resident of Deer Spring RV Park for the past 11 years! The owners or simply fabulous people, they care about your stay, and helped me when I have been a bind (Broken Ankle)! I would recommend this to the person who likes quiet, wild life, good company, and the outdoors!

This camp ground is ADULT ONLY!!! They will turn you away if you have kids. The website says adult only but pretty far down the page in small type. The place did look nice but I was a little irritated that I wasn t asked if I had kids when spoke to the host on the phone. After we arrived we were turned away, drove a hour out of the way to be told we couldn t stay .
