Came in late on a Thursday they diagnosed my car got me to a hotel and had everything torn apart first thing in the morning, ran into a partsourcing issue ( not their fault I just have a unique car) the lady who's the owner was on top of it and was deep in research to find the answer. Hands down one of the most professional shops I ran into on my travels would definitely use this place if I was ever in Las Vegas again. Family oriented it's like hanging out at your friends shop. Don't hesitate to take your car here in a heartbeat they will take extraordinary care of you.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Battery

We were passing through and had truck problems. Spent a few days in this town because of waiting on parts, but it was a nice little town to hang out in while there. Everywhere we went was welcoming good people that treated us like family and I enjoyed hanging out with everyone at the shop. The sign on the wall said something like enter as strangers and leave as friends... Which sums it up perfectly. Thank you again for all your hard work and getting us back on the road. If passing through like we were and found yourself needing assistance, this is the place to go.

We had a check engine light come on our Pacifica Hybrid Mini-van. I called and asked if they could do an OBD reading. They told me yes, and it would be free. My wife was in town doing the weekly shopping. She took it in, NO WAITING, the lady at the counter immediately got the reader, went out and did it for free. We took a picture of the results and reported to the Chrysler dealer. Parkinson was so helpful, and they did it all without receiving a single dollar. They are definitely a customer service orientated business and I would recommend them highly. Our car is still under warranty, but if I had a car to take to an Auto shop, they would be my choice.

Should have heeded warnings from friends, but the highest rated (by Las Vegas, NM word-of-mouth) repair shop was booked up for two months. Good reason for that. Took car in for two issues; both were reported as "fixed" and charged highly for same. Both issues re-appeared within a week of driving, meaning that band-aids were applied rather than true repair.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Jen did a quick job diagnosing an electrical issue with my trailer and had me out in less than an hour. Thank you! Being a commercial driver, it was a blessing that she was able to take care of me so quickly. Even though they are 100 miles away from where I live, I will be back. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. Brought a Honda Pilot in with 120K miles on it, for a check engine light. It was a misfire on cylinder 3 with oil showing in the spark plug. They repaired it only doing a valve gasket replacement for $350?? I shortly after ended up on I-25 with a blown engine. I first towed it to them, who then quoted me for a new engine . Yeah right . I towed 120 miles to my Honda Dealer who showed me, They did not follow the CORRECT repair for this. Had they correctly entered the vin number they would have seen a service bulletin for this, had they looked, shows step by step repair and exactly what they should have done in this case. They caused the piston to come out of the bottom of the engine. It is a total loss, because they didn t do the right work and replace piston rings. The dealership has also advised me from my receipt with them for the valve gasket repair it is the most expensive one they have ever seen. These people are not professional and they are crooks. Honda quoted me the valve gasket repair and parts. Honda says the gasket is $24 and labor $149.99. Parkinson s charged me $225 for labor and $ 90 for a gasket. I asked them if they had imported it from China? I also asked about the inflated labor on my receipt for 1 hour and the girl said she rounded up? What ever that meant? My paperwork from them is not even professional. I have contacted them several times about the blown engine, with no response, guess I will be seeing them in court for my repairs.Service: Engine repair

My girlfriend and I were visiting NM from Colorado. On our way back home, her car broke down. We called Parkinson s Automotive as soon as they opened the next day. They immediately made room and got us in. After about 30 minutes, they were able to diagnose that it was the water pump. They were able to get the part, replace the pump, some hoses, and the thermostat by the very next morning. We left from Parkinson s and drove it back to Denver (6 hours) without a single problem. Her car ran perfect. On top of that, the price was extremely affordable. 10/10 would recommend!! Thank you everyone at Parkinson s Automotive!!Service: Engine repair

They are fabulous, honest, hardworking people. We broke down in Las Vegas NM (we are from CO) and took our truck to another shop that tried to charge us over $1000. I called my hometown mechanic and he thought it was extremely high charges, so we took our truck to Parkinson Automotive. They worked very hard to get us back on the road asap. They did a fabulous job and only charged us $200. I am so grateful for their service and I very strongly recommend them.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Awesome crew and staff, great knowledge in service. Got it right the first time and got us out by the end of the day. So grateful to have a place that is willing to help the traveling family on a budget. Would definitely recommend them first before anyone else to those who are traveling through and need car help.

I cannot recommend this place enough!!! My car was having issues as I was heading out to San Diego. I called right when they opened and they got me in right away to take a look at my vehicle. I m going to be honest..as a young female that knows nothing about cars, I dread having to go into auto body shops with the fear of being taken advantage of. Parkinson Automotive though was a completely different story. They throughly explained everything to me, the tests they ran, what parts would cost if they were needed to be ordered, etc. The test was reading that my accelerator was overheating and the part was in Santa Fe...an hour away. But guess what? They already called someone to have the part transported if it was needed!!After a couple more tests were ran they found the issue on my car ended up being from a mechanic before them that didn t correctly input some cables. Quick fix and after about 30 mins, I was on my way!!! I had zero issues the remainder of my road trip. The whole experience was top notch from start to finish. Highly recommended, especially to anyone coming from out of town, that needs a reliable and honest shop.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

Definitely THE place to go to if traveling and your vehicle breaks down. I was traveling from Texas and my transmission blew 15 miles North of Las Vegas, NM at 3AM. Luckily I was still able to drive to a truck stop for the night. Parkinson had the best reviews and was very close to the truck stop. They were excellent in accommodating with my situation. They moved other cars and took care of my vehicle right away. It turned out that it would not be a quick fix, but they expertly helped me in finding a solution that was perfect for my situation. I'm now back home with my vehicle thanks to Parkinson Automotive. You guys are The Best, Thank You! Also say hi to their dog Magnus

Halfway to our destination in NM the car suddenly wouldn't run properly. Fortunately it happened near Parkinson Automotive. We thought we'd be lucky to have a mechanic look at it by the end of the day, but they had it checked out and fixed within an hour. Not only did they put time aside right away to help us, they were friendly and thorough. The whole experience was stress-free and the best interaction with a repair shop we've had.

We had a wheel bearing go bad on our trip across the country. We called Parkinson Automotive because they had the best reviews with the part we needed. They surely lived up and surpassed our expectations. We called telling them we might arrive in an hour and half, maybe more because we were limping 120 miles. They told us no worries, drive safe. They got us in and out in just over an hour, and even checked our other bearing for us to be safe. We ve had bearings go out before so we know that they gave us a great deal. Travelers, if you have car trouble near Las Vegas, NM, definitely choose Parkinson Automotive.

We were on our way from Kansas to Arizona, when one of our hubs seized up, and out lug nuts and the studs sheared off, and our tire came off. Not only was the pricing reasonable, from the time we got there until we were back on the road was less than 3 hours. The whole time we were there, they owners were so warm and welcoming! I definitely would recommend them!Service: Tires

Our exhaust manifold broke off right outside of Las Vegas, NM. We hobbled in town and tried another repair shop first. That repair shop told us that they were too busy and referred us to Parkinson Automotive. We pulled into Parkinson Automotive about 10 minutes before they closed. They helped us immediately, troubleshot and helped us with a temporary fix to get us on our way. They were reasonable, extremely helpful and would recommend for anyone travelling or local.

We were travelling through New Mexico in the summer heat when the car's air conditioner went out. Jennifer and her husband went out of their way to help us. Not only did they fix the air conditioner, but they checked fluid levels and tire pressure to be sure all was well as we continued on our way. If I lived in Las Vegas, I would definitely take all my car business to them. They are top-notch.

Brad and Jen helped us out of a tough spot. We live in Ok and was just passing through NM when our alternator went out. They got to it first thing and we were back on the road a couple hours later. I have a 74 Dodge Sportsman class c motorhome. I broke down in wagon mound, nm on a Saturday evening. Heading from Colorado to Arizona. I stopped to get gas and when I turned it over I got a crank but no spark!Got towed to a shop in the town of Las Vegas NM. Come monday morning the shop i got towed too (who had the highest rating on google) had me wait an hour and half after opening to tell me they couldnt even look at it until Weds because its a one man shop. So I got another tow down the road to Parkinsons, where they immediately looked at my vehicle and started diagnosing. What a Blessing!Jenn the owner/head mechanic knows her stuff and took great care of me and my camper. It ended up needing a distributor replacement, after ordering a new one she quickly realized the manufacturer had made a mistake and it was a hair to tall, ordered another one and once installed that gave it the spark it was missing but still wasn t starting up right away. She dug a bit deeper and found my carburetor was shut and not letting air in. Though I don t need a carburetor restored/ replaced right away they showed me how to tweak the carburetor so I know what to do incase that happens again and sent me in the right direction to buy up a very very low priced good condition carburetor for my engine from the local scrap yard! (For when I do eventually switch it out)The entire staff was sweet and everyone had a can do attitude. Multiple calls and cars came in the shop while I waited and they all were so on it with every customer. I never got the impression they were annoyed with me or anyone coming in and needing solutions quick, which has definitely been the vibe at other mechanics I ve been to. Since I was on the road alone and stranded in a town I was unfamiliar with, Jenn hooked it up with Knights motel for the night who gives their customers a discounted rate, she also gave me a burrito and is a genuinely good and honest person that I wish was my hometown mechanic. (Oh and she gave me info of mechanics shes worked for and trusts in Tucson where Im headed)! Can t say enough good things about this shop!

Traveling from Wisconsin, had engine issue . Stopped, Very helpful, professional, dropped what they were currently working on, To help us. This place is excellent! Recently, my girlfriend and I were driving on I-25 after a snow storm and hit a large piece of ice which broke a plastic panel underneath my car. We decided we couldn't continue driving with the panel dragging on the ground so we stopped in Las Vegas. Napa recommended Parkinson since my car sits too low for me to remove the panel myself. Parkinson Automotive fit me in right away and my car was ready to be back on the road extremely quickly! They refused to charge me. This shop is run by honest, hard working people, and if I am ever back in the Las Vegas area and in need of any car work I will certainly stop in again.

Awesome repair shop. I know nothing about cars and the owner went out of her way to help me get the best price and make sure I didn t get ripped off. She could have overcharged me and I never would have known but she has serious integrity. Very nice family oriented business. Definitely go here!

Excellent customer service. We broke down visiting the area and are thankful they were here! They called all their contacts in effort to expedite the repair since our vehicle was missing a crucial key. Friendly, very informative, great at communicating what the issue was and options for repair. Offered us rides when they needed to keep our car overnight. Would highly, highly recommend if you are in the area! Thank you!

This place is well worth finding, so I included this pic bc there's no signage. Went 1st thing just to have fluids & tires checked before my next 2 days of hard driving. In spite of how busy they are, the owner took me right in & refused to charge me for such basic wk. Wish I'd had more cash than I did to tip bigger. AND she was homeschooling her 2 big kids while working! Places like this are rare.

When you support this local business you also support the local community because JenN gives back to her community. Right now she's planning an event to give back to her community who are suffering from the Hermits Peak fire. When you support this business you support good people and you support the community.

Took my 04 gt mustang to get my mufflers done and now my car has a shortage and won t start. I paid $200 for 2 hours,didn t get it back till they were about to close. These people will take your money and ruin your vehicle.

Thank you for repairing our 2007 Toyota RAV4 this past weekend! We are so grateful!We were on our way to a wedding in Albuquerque on Friday, 7/20. Our car had broken down, it was very hot that day, and we had spotty cell phone service.The first garage we were towed to was too busy to accept and repair our car. You took our car in, and we appreciate your thoughtful brainstorming of solutions to repair our A/C compressor and the research you did with Toyota to insure the correct solution was identified and implemented.Your sister was so thoughtful to drive me to the rental car location, so that I could rent a car. Our family made it in time for the wedding.I will be forever grateful with the help you provided my family in our time of need! Your Dad would have been very proud. He sounds like a cool guy.

While on our trip to Arizona we had a bit of car trouble. We got to Parkinson Automotive and they immediately began looking for the issue. They found the problem and fixed it and were so kind! Highly recommend to anyone!

All the folks here are great! I was travelling from Minnesota and my alternator failed. They pulled my truck in immediately, swapped the alternator and sent me on my way. Very reasonable price, excellent service, quality work.

my husband and I were traveling across country, trying to get back home for the holidays. disaster struck, we broke down. our tow truck driver said he would take us to his friends shop. on the wall is a sign saying " enter as a stranger, leave as friends." this could not be any truer. We could not be more thankful to Jenn and Chris. they went above and beyond. they fixed our truck, put us up for a night and even bought us lunch. It was so refreshing. we were stressing out, and they helped us out when we were in need. Also Jenn and Chris, are vehicle whisperer's. We had a broken flexplate, and camshaft sensor.

Very quick work at a reasonable cost. Replaced a pinion seal and u-joints in a day. I did leave it overnight but I also didnt have an appointment prior to going. First time I've used them but not the last! Thanks!
