I get that it is the DMV and most experiences aren t going to be amazing, but they make nothing easy and want you to jump through hoops to meet their expectations specifically when it comes to registering vehicles or title transfers. We had to schedule 4 different appointments because they refused our paperwork for one reason or another. Something the person we got our car from said they have never experienced elsewhere. I ve also noticed how much more polite the staff are to the older people and how rude they tend to be to younger people. My biggest complaint falls with Roberta.Roberta has a major attitude. She is very rude and I have had multiple people warn me of her. Of course that s who we had to deal with. I ll take my chances and drive to Santa Fe if I ever need anything else. She is not worth the headache.

I had to prove a certain NM law by googling it on my phone for the person that was supposed to be helping me. When she called her supervisor she read off the personal details of my name history in the most unprofessional manner, as if she were gawking about it with a friend. The uncomfortable moments of this experience went on and on, she was treating me like I was lying about something. When she rudely refused to open the envelope I handed her of the paperwork history of my legal name changes, I finally stated how uncomfortable it all felt and didn t give her any more of my time. Never again will I go to the Las Vegas NM MVD.

One star because 0 stars is not an option. No one likes the DMV but this office takes their dedication to providing the quintessential DMV service they are known for to the next level. They are supremely unhelpful, actually unbelievably unhelpful. They are intransigent on every subject regardless of the issue, and condescending in all cases where there is even the most narrow opportunity to slip condescension in. I admit that I am not an expert on NM's vehicle registration laws but it has been eye opening to learn how truly stupid I actually am. I've also been surprised to learn how many ways there are to unsuccessfully attempt to register a vehicle or get a title transfer. Luckily the LV DMV has taken every opportunity to point out my stupidity... repeatedly. I have been to this office roughly 4-6 times in the past 6 months and every time I put it off like a barbwire colonoscopy, but when it finally must be done it has been an exercise in futility and almost always requires a second or even third trip to handle simple, routine issues. I would literally rather be hit with a hammer than go back here. Ever. Register your vehicles in Texas, or Colorado, or Arizona, or Oklahoma, or Mexico. Anywhere but here unless you are into self flagellation.

Had very professional, personable, and efficient service from Santana at the Las Vegas NM MVD office when transferring an out of state automobile. This is the kind of friendly & smooth transaction we always hope to find when engaging a business, either public or private. In this area I'd easily choose to use this MVD office again and hope Santana would be my customer service rep that next time too.

I had heard bad things about this MVD and was reluctant to go here, but this turned out to be a great experience. I usually only write a review if my visit was either really bad or really good. This was of the best MVD encounters I have ever had. Michelle was professional, patient, and had a great attitude. Even though my paperwork was not all in order (through no fault of my own, error on the VIN), Michelle handled it very professionally and politely. Thank you MVD, and thank you Michelle for a pleasantly surprising visit.

Wish I could give Roberta no stars. She is the rudest person in a public office I have ever heard speak. She is belittling to young adults and talks to them like they are stupid. She didnt even wait on me this coming from what I seen and over heard She made a mistake on an address and the young lady needed it corrected. Roberta scolded her telling her "that is what I asked you earlier" the young girl was trying to explain she was a college student and needed her ID mailed to a different address. Roberta got so rude with her and raised her voice. The poor girl walked out with what I hope was the right address. Roberta man up and treat people like you want you be treated. I wish that young lady wasn't so nice to Roberta. I hope I never have to deal with nasty mean old Roberta.

Made an appointment at 1:30 I then wasn t seen for 50 minutes later! Why do they make you make a appointment and have your wait! Nothing got done because apparently my letter from the Bank isn t a good enough document I showed them my expired drivers license that got expired during the Hype of Covid and this is the 3 rd attempt to renew my drivers license but I get turned down because the documents I take in are not official enough now I need more proof I feel like the New Mexico Government contradicts their rules I m very frustrated because if I get pulled over with no drivers license I ll be fined and I m just trying to get my drivers license and you know it s not free it s bologna I was told differently last visit and now they want different documents I am very disappointed in the system ugh frustrating

Vastly improved. Appointments are required for service but I actually like that vs the chaos of before. They could help elderly and technologically inept with appointments on site vs referring to a website. General list of items needed could also reduce duplicate appointments (paper and online) The MVD in NM A is notorious for being an avoid at all costs bureaucratic nightmare any improvement is easily made just ask the people. The door greeter associate was a great idea, just give them more training and tools to innovate and improve.

Went into MVD twice this week for separate issues, once on Monday and again today (Friday). Both times I ended up at Michelle's window. The first time, I had never met her and wasn't sure what to expect as I had a few things to take care of. She was friendly and helpful and I was in and out of the office in under 30 minutes both times.

My wife gave them a copy of our lease, multiple pieces of government mail, and her medicaid info while trying to simply get her ID.They gave me my ID with the exact same lease copy but the woman who """Helped""" my wife not only tried to give my wife the wrong paperwork twice, she also either couldn't hear her or was outright ignoring her. And then, she refused to give my Wife her ID, because apparently none of that proof was 'sufficient enough' even though it's the same proof I used.Save yourself the time and go somewhere where the staff isn't high, drunk, stupid, or whatever combo the staff here is on.

My experience was an awesome one. The clerks at this office were professionals in every way. My clerk was Santana. My license required documents that are out of the ordinary. She was fast, proficient, and friendly. She didn't skip a beat. This office is definitely up to date in their covid practices...I was impressed. Keep up the good work!

So, they won't let you take a road test if it is raining. You can't sit there and wait for it to stop raining because apparently they have other people that are booked; but they are going to cancel on them too? Doesn't make any sense. Then you can't reschedule in the office, has to be online. This is also a problem because you have to book three days in advance, OH but wait, they don't do road tests on Mondays or Fridays. So if your test is on Tuesday and it gets cancelled, you cannot take it until the following Tuesday. Also, the written tests are horrible and confusing and nothing like the manual they give you. Also, they don't tell you what you got wrong or right on the test, just pass or fail, and the workers' don't know either. So

Workers are friendly for the most part, facility is clean, and plenty of chairs to sit comfortably and spaciously. Get there early or expect to have a lengthy wait. Be sure to have everything imaginable cause they re very meticulous and nit picky about every little thing.

What is the point of an appointment if you are going to overbook and we are going to have to wait 2 hours anyway!?

4/21/2021 DMV is now prompt, friendly, helpful and fully functional. We went in and came out without a problem, with more information than we left.

By appointment only made on line. It took a month. You wait outside until they call you. Then they screen you. Only 2 windows open. The registration process is the same. Everyone wore masks.
