They don't make them like Dana anymore! The business owner is a complete stranger to me and owed me nothing! His lot is full to the brim and we had our catalytic converter stolen off of our RV. It left our family of 5 stranded for our daughter's 7th birthday. Dana was the ONLY one that came through and he went above and beyond in every single way. Very honest in conveying realistic expectations and an extremely honest professional in general. Dana, thank you very very much. Will always send everyone your way and we won't go anywhere else! Tysm!

I had a problem with the driver seat in my Tahoe. I took it to Dana in the morning and by late morning or so it was done and he called to inform me how he fixed it!! Alert Muffler & Brake Service provides Amazing Service at a fair price! You just can't find this kind of Service any more. Five Star Service in my book! Thank you Dana!! I have been going to Alert for several months now. Dana is one of the best mechanics in town, and his prices are fair. He has fixed many problems with my car that other mechanics missed.

Went in for a fuel line issue. Left with same issue. Owner charged me 500 for a diagnoses a battery I didn't need or approve. Then, then, He, the Owner went face to face with in a violent way. I wouldn't send my enemy to HimService: BatteryService: Battery

These guys really saved me in a bind. I was out of town, my alternator had gone out, and I needed to get back to work. They were able to get me in and perform the repair quickly so I could get home at a time when so many shops were telling me that they couldn't get me in for weeks. They were recommended to me by several people, and they were well worth the recommendation.

Come here and give Dana your business!!! Hands down one of the best exhaust shops in Cruces. Took my 03 Lancer in the shop for get a new exhaust pipe and bracket repair, had it ready to go by open the next day. Cost and the quality of the work performed is phenomenal. Definitely coming back. Lift was empty I tried to get 3 different workers attention and they all ignored me or told me to go talk to another person. I don't think they provide service to Hispanic customers I would never recommend this place. I traveled to El paso instead where everyone's patronage is appreciated and got a full custom exhaust setup done at a great price and with hospitality all the way through my experience as a customer. Thank God for Texans.

Amazing and fast service!! Called to see if I could get my catalytic converter changed and was told to bring it in right then! Unfortunately I don t remember the mechanics name, but he was extremely knowledgeable on how the converter works and he even told me the best gas for my car. Everything was finished and ready for pick up within an hour and the price was more than fair! Thank you for doing such a great job, guys!!! I will definitely recommend you to others.

Had a hard time finding someone to work on my Sprinter, and boy do I feel lucky I found this place. Very friendly on the phone, took a quick look under the hood, tightened a loose clamp and sent me on my way. Ten out of ten.

Mr. Dana was very nice and helpful. We had a long road trip from Nevada to Houston, Texas and our car stopped on the road near New Mexico. We got help from a nice guy kicking the engine on then went to Autozone in Las Cruces. They referred me to Mr. Dana. He helped us clean the corrosion and rechecked on battery and everything turned out okay. He did not charge any dollar for labor. He also gave us so many advices on how to maintenance the car. I highly recommend Mr. Dana to everyone

Dana has always done an awesome job for us. he is honest and will call with estimate before doing any work. He suggests a lower cost alternative if there is one. I highly recommend!!

Went there and found these guys to be honest and up front. Pricing was extremely competitive and repairs could have cost as much as 3 times as much at dealership. These guys knew their stuff and like working on cars. They're not much into looking like the newest shop on the block, in fact the look of everything made me feel like I was going back in time.... as did the honesty and forthcoming conversation we had.

First off, these guys are super knowledgable mechanics and do more than mufflers and brakes. I was on a cross-country trip when my 1987 Toyota 4Runner had some issues so I towed it to Dana and crew, and they had me continuing on my roadtrip in less than an hour, giving me an honest assessment of the simple issues and what I needed to fix now and what could wait until my final destination. If you're traveling through Las Cruces and run into to issues, run to these guys.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The guys that work at alert auto are really nice and they know their stuff. The bad part is that they are so busy that it takes forever for the work to be completed. I spent $600 on car rentals when it took 2+ months for them to put in a clutch. There were some complications, so it's understandable that it took another week, but two months is way too long. I wish they had told me how busy they were upfront so that I could have gone somewhere else since I was renting a car. I still recommend them because they're competent, just make sure you find out if they're booked up first.

It doesn't get any better than this! Great service, prices and know how. I drive from El Paso to get my vehicles worked on at Alert Muffler and Brake. You will be hard pressed to find a bunch of mechanics that are as knowledgeable and fair as these guys. They really know their S&*t. Thanks fellas!! T. Shelden

I took my brand new 2020 Sierra 1500 to get an exhaust installed and these guys made it happen so quick, easy and at a bargain price!!! My truck now sounds mean and I m happy about the overall experience! Thank you guy!!

The folks at Alert muffler saved me 1600 dollars. I was told by a dealership in town that I needed certain work done on my Toyota Prius. I took it to Dana and got a second opinion. Needless to say, he (and the folks at Alert muffler) after correctly diagnosing the issue (or non issue as was the case) saved me from a 1600 dollar service at the dealership. I will always go to Alert for any work that I need done and I would suggest anyone else do the same.

I remember two years ago, they charged me $400 to change my serpentine belt. They had then charged me $40 for "wire work" I look under the hood, and I saw zip ties. They took advantage of me because I was a dumb kid. Until this day, I'm still pissed about it. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS!I REPEAT! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!They will try their BEST to rip you off.

Dana (owner) seems like a nice guy but not sure this guy really knows his advanced muffler stuff. Needed some exhaust tip re-work and he wanted to chop everything off (estimated 2 hours work! and had to leave the car with them) instead of just simply cutting a few tack welds off. Said adios to Alert Muffler, and then drove direct to J&J Muffler. They cut the welds with a Sawzall, adjusted them, re-welded and out the door in 40 minutes. Moral of story, go with J&J Muffler for your exhaust/muffler work in Las Cruces.
