Took my car in for a free diagnostic check and they had it all day. I told them what I thought the problems were. They have been fixing transmissions for 70 years. One would think that they would know something about what the symptoms meant. No it was pay us money to fix it once we know what is wrong. One would think that with as much experience they have they could narrow it down to specific parts or function just by its behavior and indicators - No! They wanted me to commit to roughly $1200 without telling me what their experienced diagnosis was.I took my car back, realized I did not bite the hook and am looking for someone who can just tell what is the problem.I have been a mechanic for years and can tell pretty closely what the problems are by indicators. I would have gone along if they gave me any indication what I was getting into - these are professionals running a scam !!!!!

Great place to have your vehicles repaired and serviced. I had my transmission serviced over forty years ago in Las Cruces and have been getting an annual inspection every year with all but two done in the Las Cruces. Excellent customer service and the staff are great, friendly, full of knowledge and make you feel right at home. When they do the annual inspection on my transmission they also let me know of other issues with my vehicle that may need to be repaired. I recommend them not only for customer service reasons but also the fact that they have great warranties and you can go to any AAMCO in the US if you have issues within the warranty timeframe to get things looked at or fixed. I got a lifetime warranty on my transmission so I look forward to continue getting my transmission checked every year. Jerry and Jessica

I noticed a burning smell coming from the ac/heater of my car so I called autoshops around town and AAMCO was able to take it the next morning. They examined the car free of charge and told me it was a coolant leak. They quoted me a fair price to to do a flush and fix the coolant system before doing any work on the car. They kept me up to date on the progress and had it back in my hands in 2 days. They have also done transmission work on my wife's car in the past. Other shops had quoted us for $8,000. AAMCO was able to get it done for $800. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work they have done and the friendly customer service. I'll be calling them first for any future car troubles.

I have had several people refer me to Aamco. The first time I went there it was because I had the serpentine belt replaced at Nissan & when I picked up my car it smelled extremely strong like burning brakes. They said it was my clutch going out & wanted like $3200 to put in a new clutch. I went to Aamco, (great reviews on line & from a friend) . They checked my car & altho they couldn't find the reason for the burning smell, they assured me my clutch was fine. A few days later I learned the burning smell was because the car had been driven with the emergency brake on.??!! .I love the family owned business, it's always better. I could tell talking to the mechanic at Aamco when my car smelled so bad that he knew what he was doing. He reminded me of my brother the way he talked & explained things.I've been in the office a couple times & ran into friends from Silver City. Both had very positive things to say about Aamco & commented that Aamco is the only place that services their vehicles.Today they serviced my car, did an inspection, rotated my tires & one other service I needed.Enjoyed the people & especially when Pat is there. I was discouraged the first time I went in & she sang a song for me. Turns out I knew the song& we sang it together. What a blessing!!Aamco will be taking car if my vehicle from now on.

The staff at AAMCO Transmissions are the most professional, honest, and polite individuals that I have encountered in auto repair. I am thankful for their great service. They obviously take pride and enjoy their job. I strongly recommend AAMCO Transmissions of Las Cruces for your car repair needs!

Service at this Aamco facility in Las Cruces was amazing. They were courteous, extremely attentive to the customers needs. I was even given a ride back to Deming when the owner realized there were no buses running on the day I brought in my car, a 70 mile round trip journey.The car is running well. I will recommend this Aamco shop to all my friends. Thank you for the excellent work.

Use to feel confident in bringing in a vehicle to the shop and knowing I d be taken care of. Usually entails small fixes like oil change, diagnostics. My last visit was my first big fix on my truck. big meaning an alternator and electrical issues. I didn t expect for them to perform a miracle, but i did expect $1200 worth of work.After MULTIPLE IGNORED CALLS.Finally after pointless conversations with the receptionist, i asked to speak to a tech that would be able to tell me what s going on, (No one at the front desk knows the status of any work being done, they will literally tell you whatever they want)Only to be greeted by the tech with yeah what is it?, she handed me the phone and said you wanted to speak to me? i said yes? i ve been calling for an u date or any news about my truck. He had no idea what was going on, the status of my truck, andFinally after picking up my truck, it didn t run, and they made me tow it home. Saying my battery, was faulty, and a carry on of unconfident knowledge of what they think is happening. Leaving me with even more questions?Now i m dealing with a faulty alternator and battery, but still do not know why? they were so sure and happy to take my money, but once i talked about warranty or guaranteed work, they WERE NOT HAPPY TO SEE ME. You can definitely feel they just wanted my money, and for me to get out of their hair.NO CALL BACKS & NO UPDATES the lack of communication between the ladies up front and the tech s in the back is awfulFront receptionist is way too important to acknowledge/greet you.But Man, were they happy to take my money!After taking in my vehicle I was completely ignored by AAMCO, and was never given an update of any kind. After calling multiple times the scripted i m so sorry about that, we ll give you a call by the end of today NEVER HAPPENED.I ve brought in multiple vehicles to the shop and have always loved their hospitality and customer care. But my last visit was completely the opposite, couldn t understand why I even chose that shop in the first place. But after going through reviews, i can definitely agree with some of those 1 star ratings.If you enjoy begging a shop to attend to you as a customer, and love being ignored and avoided. By all means AAMCO just might be the shop for you.My truck is now in another shop, with techs that i feel are ready to work, and are willing to be blunt and honest if it s something that may be tedious work. But regardless I respect the transparency THEY bring. unlike AAMCO.

AAMCO was able to tow my van from a weird space, very nicely, very conveniently they handled basically everything over the phone, the work was done quickly in I believe 3 days, which required ordering a new one so totally understandable, the entire check out process went really smoothly, and everyone was very friendly. 10/10

They had my car for weeks. Their shop was broken into, and my car was vandalized. Then they damaged my car getting it off the lift. At least they had that fixed. When I went to pick it up, I was joking with the desk clerk about giving me a discount because of all the trouble I had. She snarked back "well, we fixed your door for you". Really. You broke it!!! Then I discovered the lug nut key was missing. I pointed that out, and some guy from the back yelled at me "that's not our responsibility". That was the red flag to wave in front of this bull. Then WHOSE responsibility is it? At this point, I had to leave. I am a 70 year old stroke victim with spinal cancer. These people are rude and disrespectful. Horrible place.

Can t recommend them enough. Very professional and courteous, they gave me a ride home AND picked me up, and had the service on my truck done before I had to leave for work. Price was fair, they were very transparent about the service being done, and the technician had a really friendly disposition.

This is a place from the first day have tried to line their pockets with upsales or finding something that has NO confection to the transmission or the problem. I have had to return to get warranty work done on the three year warrantied transmission after 1200 miles and three months since the work was done. This is on a 1996 Suburban. They said they would not warranty the transmission until they 5 codes where fixed. 2 of the codes where all CO 2 sensors codes . 2 where a lean mixture code and the one that was directly saying it was a P0753 - Shift Solenoid 'A' Electrical. Aamco compliant rep when I finally was abler to talk to them said until the problems where fixed so Los Crues code confirm the codes where repaired and only codes directly related to them. Just to troubleshoot it was $350 plus repair labor and parts.Symptoms and Diagnostic Trouble Codes3rd & OD won't shift. Working fine when transmission warms up. We put in reman 6/24/23 I154506(1) Exterior / Interior(2) Fluids(3) Underhood(5) Transmission,Diff, Transfer Case(6) Electrical and BatteryP0137 - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2P0140 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Bank 1 Sensor 2P0171 - System Too Lean Bank 1P0174 - System Too Lean Bank 2P0753 - Shift Solenoid 'A' Electrical

I recently had an oil change and tire repair done at AAMCO, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. Not only did they complete the job promptly, but the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and professional, making the whole experience a breeze. AAMCO of Las Cruces worked on my 79 Chevy K10. My truck s transmission was leaking fluid from the shift lever and the transmission fluid oil pan. They fixed both and they also found two different areas where my truck was leaking motor oil and they fixed both of them as well. The staff was courteous. This is the best Transmission shop in town. Pat the owner/manager is the nicest kindest, she is always telling me what a good customer I am. She worked with me to get my truck fixed right the first time. She answered every question I had and had the mechanic take time to show me everything that was wrong. she was just the best customer service I could ask for. I am a manager at a shop that has over 400 employees. We use AAmco for all of our trucks and I will refer everyone that needs a great shop to she. If I could leave no stars I would! These people should be ashamed of themselves!! They have been taking advantage of my 90 year old dad for years!! This last time they wanted to charge him almost $1000 for battery cables and an oil change!! We picked up the car before they did any work, took it to a certified mechanic and he checked everything and turns out that s all it was was the battery cables!! Shame on them for taking advantage of an elderly man on a fixed income!! And the total cost for what was done was $9!! You people have ripped off my dad for the last time!!

Superb business. I was traveling 2000 miles from California to Texas in the 115 degree New Mexico dessert when just outside of las cruces my 2005 Silverado started giving me issues. The transmission seemed to not be engaging in over drive causing my engine to pull 4-5000 rpm s which eventually would cause it to overheat. I quickly turned back to this Aamco shop at approximately 1700hrs. I called Pat and Delhi assured me shouldCould look at the pickup but not until the following day because i was coming in right at closing time. I was also pulling my 16 foot trailer which they would store for me as well. The following day don went right to work addressing my issue. He didn t seem to find anything wrong with my transmission and my motor. He dropped my transmission pan and carefully and thoroughly went through the transmission oil inspecting for metal shavings and anything of the abnorm. He stated it could also be my computer telling my transmission not to engage but seemed to work just fine while road testing and didn t receive any codes. He stated that he would change the fluid, test drive, and re inspect. He did and no issues. This place is a honest and hospitable shop. They are not there toRip off clients. Don even stated he did not want to put a new transmission in and still have a problem. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and wish they were here in Texas.

Great service!!! We took our car for a free diagnostic, and found out it was the transmission. So we let them do their magic and we ended up getting the best deal in town hands down. And a beautiful working transmission!! We recommend AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS FOR NOT ONLY TRANSMISSIONS BUT EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS TO DO WITH YOUR CAR. Terrible lack of concern for and response to my needs. Google shows they open at 7:30. When I arrived about 7:45 I was told they were going to be in a training meeting until,8:30 and then something was mumbled about when a technician could diagnose the problem and was told it would likely be noon before I knew what was leaking. I explained oil was pouring out as we spoke. At Auto Services if New Mexico in Main Street, took 15 seconds to determine it was the oil pan I had cracked then less than only five minutes before I was compassionately given the tough news as to what was needed. Aamco lost an $1,100 service job because they didn't listen and react with empathy. They were NOT available to provide services as advertised, plain and simple.

I set up an appointment to get my old RV checked out and ready for a long road trip. The staff was so diligent, patient and friendly to search for parts for a very old vehicle and went above and beyond to get the repair completed and me back on the road. As a friend said, "you know a lot of shops probably would have just given up and said we can't fix the vehicle". Absolutely floored by this company. We took our car in with it slipping into 3rd every now and then but other than that it ran completely fine and only the tire pressure and engine light on. We had it checked with 3 different code readers before taking it to them, all saying the same single code so we had an idea of what was going to be the problem. We got it back about 4 hours later after we called to see how things were going and we were told they test drove it, ran the code reader on it, and said the car was basically dead and it would be over $6000 to fix it. We want a second opinion so we pick up our car immediately to find that it is completely different, borderline undrivable, and now has 3 new lights on the dash that I had never seen before. In an attempt to drive it home, we found that it jumped like crazy when switching gears, struggled to get over 10 mph. We call them back, unable to drive it back to their shop to see what the heck happened only to be told well if you drive it in that condition it s going to get worse as if that explains picking it up in a severely worse condition than bringing it in THE SAME DAY. Currently taking it to real mechanics to see what AAMCO did to make our 2018 car undrivable. They will be hearing from us again regarding this issue. Please don t take your vehicles here. On my way home , I lost the trans on my 1996 pickup . They were able to diagnose the problem in a timely fashion . With a 26 year old truck the replacement parts can be tough to find . This shop was able to come up with a remanufactured unit and do the installation with outa hitch . Thanks guys for the great job . Made it to montana with out any issues . Prices were reasonable .Service: Transmission
