We spent one night after a long drive (12hrs). The staff were very pleasant and stayed later to accommodate our late arrival of 7:44pm.The park is all gravel, which was nice- no mud .We did not use the bathrooms but if they are as clean and neat as the rest of the park I am sure they are nice. This is a senior only park. Highly recommend a stay. Plan to stop on the way back from eclipse in Texas.

I was impressed by the campground's customer service receiving Amazon packages, and my mail, along with the monthly price, are all a plus in my book. This destination is centrally located to various museums and other historical sightseeing destinations. The indoor pool is clean, warm, and inviting, along with the bathrooms.Yes, there's a train nearby, but my RV's insulation kept the noise down, and the local restaurants are a plus, especially Si Seor Mexican restaurant. The 55+ 81 Palms RV park has become my monthly stopover en route to Quartzite and Yuma, AZ.Nearby activities: DEMING LUNA MIMBRES MUSEUMWalkability: There's a level walking trail nearby.

Interesting RV Park, we like to stop here when we are heading to NM. Perfect distance from home for our first stop. Never had to make reservations as they always have a spot available. Internet is just OK. Large pull through sites.

This is a great RV park. Whether you stay for a day, a week or a month or even longer. Nice large spots, lots of rooms for walking around the park. The showers and bathrooms are extremely clean, probably the best I have ever seen. They also have an indoor pool and the water is warm and clean. Be sure to use it. If you stop here. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and you can get your mail here. If you're going by Deming New Mexico and need to stop, be sure to stop here.

Decent Park Overall.Pros: Reasonably priced. 55 plus park. Slightly out of town (big plus) Virtually no foot traffic in area. Large lots, most are pull-through. Stable utilities. Large area to walk/ruck/or run.Large and clean laundry area and club house.Owners are fairly nice and reasonable. Mailbox slots and package pickup from the main building (no delivery trucks speeding through sites).Cons: They don't like you coming and going between the hours of 10pm and 6am (A pro for some).Expensive laundry that is NOT open 24 hrs. (should be)A very loud train that comes through (sounds like) 2-3 times every hour. (Weirdly enough it's louder in the daytime than at night) Most parks in area are near I-10 and the train.

By far the rudest encounter ever, since our travel adventure began 3 years ago. The "manager" dictates policy by what or who he likes or doesn't like. I guess that's why it was pretty empty. Also does not allow children, we do not travel with children, so it wasn't an issue for us. Maybe my husband's skin color mattered to him, glad it didn't matter in his 21 year military career or his 18 year law enforcement career. The sheer nastiness of the manager was a deal breaker. Go to Little Vineyard RV. Super friendly people and very accommodating.

Traveling and stopped over for a one night stay. This place is very relaxing and totally awesome. After a long day in our coach we were able to take a swim in the super nice indoor pool before turning in for the night. Our puppy had a great time in the dog run.Very sweet lady in front office. We could not ask for more than this. Highly recommend! The weather is beautiful here this evening. :)

We were looking for an overnight stay and a clean safe place to do laundry! This Park exceeded our best expectations! The manager was very friendly, the entire park facilities are impeccably clean and well cared for. The laundry is super nice and it all worked beautifully. Social distancing in this crisis is adheared to and you feel safe as you can be here! The pool area is beautiful, and we had such a nice visit, we stayed another day relaxing. I would definitely recommend this park as an oasis stop. There's only one possible negative that is also a positive for easy on and off the freeway. We slept beautifully because we're always on the road.Yes, there's also a train track nearby! If you want solitude and silence in the wilderness this may not be a park for you.If you want easy access and friendly staff and residents with ALL the amenities then THIS PLACE IS GREAT!

My wife and I have stayed there about 5 yrs ago and since we are staying in town at another rv park we thought we would go through and if things had improved. Well, when we stopped at the club house to see what was there we were confronted by "security" that just received a call over the radio to warn him about us. "Did you check in?". "No". So we went to the locked office and talked the queen "B" and with a completely stand offish attitude gave us a few two word answers and I was done. She has and still forgets who pays the bills. Don't waste your time there and go to Little Vineyard or Dream Catcher.

Stayed here 1 night check in was super fast and friendly. Less than a minute (not kidding) The pool and bathrooms were super clean. You can ignore the one crackpot review left by some joker down the line he clearly has some mental issues. I definitely will stop again . Thanks 81 Palms

Awesome stay ! My truck broke down so I was riding my bicycle into town. Unfortunately I got a flat tire and contacted Richard for some help, since I was not from the area. No questions asked and he was out to pick me up along with my bike in a matter of minutes. Richard and Helen went way above and beyond their call of duty. Their rv park is in immaculate condition, their laundry facilities are the best I have seen and their swimming pool is in tip top shape. The rv spaces are large and flat. You can tell Helen and Richard take pride in their park.THANK YOU for the great stay !!!!

Easy in and out. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and the person that checked is in was great. Some highway noise and lots of trains, show me a campground that isn't near train tracks. Great senior only RV resort for one night.

Thank you 81 Palms for being in a perfect location for any need, seasonal, or an over night or two stay. We love this RV Park. Dog park, heated pool, Restrooms and facilities are very clean. Sites are pull throughs on gravel and level. Only need a small jack pad. Frank and Helen are wonderful and accommodating. We will always stay here while traveling through NM.

We ve stayed in this quirky park for years on our way to Phoenix, one to three nights. Never had any problems. The grounds are always immaculate and there s all kinds of interesting things in the community building. WiFi may not be the best but we aren t wedded to the Internet. Ranchers Grill in town has good enough food with a great salad bar.

I called and spoke with Richard around 5:30 pm looking for a bug rig friendly park. We have a 43 ft motor home towing a cargo trailer and following with a jeep. He said no problem they were open until 8 pm.We got there easy quick and easy registration. Easy in and out of the park. The whole park was beautifully manicured rock with level sites and all of my stuff fit in one spot without disconnection. It is a 55 plus park. I did not know that when I called but thank goodness I just turned 55. My first purchase as a senior. . I will definitely go back and spend more time there.

Everything in the park is extremely well maintained and clean. Owners are friendly. Stayed in July, so very hot--but not the fault of the park. My only quibble is that credit cards are not accepted (cash or check only) making it inconvenient for many travelers. The dog park is a plus.

This is one of the best RV places we have stayed. Really great indoor pool. Site was level. Trees are trimmed. Very well kept up. Helen was very friendly and helpful. WiFi is not the best. Nice laundry room.

I work for the government contractor throughout the US, I have live (6 mo to 2 years) at a lot of 4 or 5 star RV parks. This place is right up there. The owners are wonderful and caring. When in or passing through, this is a nice place to stay at.

We having here for 7 mos. The main attraction for me was the indoor pool. The restrooms/dressing rooms are very nice and well kept. The sites are quite large. It's nice and quiet here and secure.

We enjoyed this place. The layout is perfectly flat on nice round pea gravel so your knees don't get wrecked when you're down with the sewer line connections. The gardening and pickup work is immaculate and there are some wonderful examples of ocotillio and yucca. There is a lot of very specific signage all over the place. I was very pleased to discover that the sewer port had perfectly clean threads, was ground level, and I did not need the nearby rock to hold down the sewer tube connection. My one beef is with the internet connection. It is a subscription process that requires personal information and then limits your one day usage to 300 megabytes (I consider cheapskate!) or if you stay longer there is a subscription fee per week or month. Somebody puts in a lot of work to maintain this place.

Not the Best park on Deming but very convenient for cross-country travelers going through.CAUTION! CAUTION! READ ALL PROS AND CONS!PROS:1. Convenient nightly pull through spots near pool, rec center, dog park, and laundry and are long enough to leave hitch or towing in place.2. Easy access to dump station.3. RV area is neat, well maintained -no riff-raff.4. Gracious hostess.4. There's a nice indoor heated pool , laundry (quarters may be gotten at the office), community room, some torture devices (exercise equipment & ironingboard), toilets and showers (make sure to wear flipflops & it takes a few mins to get hot).5. Plenty of back acreage for walks inside the security of the park.6. SECURITY A+ I haven't seen one police car rushing in with sirens andlights. We've been here 14 months. At another previous park in Deming, it was an almost nightly occurance. I feel safer here! 7. Rockhounds stay here and leave behind some nice pickings!8. Each site has a dedicated power box, drain, and water access. In the photo of the power box, you'll see 30amp, 50amp, GFCI protection.9. Park is spacious enough hosts try to space RVs with one empty spot between yhem.10. Excellent cell reception. We did not use the park's wi-fi opting to use our own unlimited hot spot plan through T-Mobile.11. If you are a train afficiano, you'll enjoy hearing the trains blowing their trademark whistles! Some are loooong blasts, some are two short. quick blasts.12. At the 'green' building the hosts (owners) maintain some really great bulletin boards with tremendous amounts of history, places to see, news worthy happenings, with photos and area maps. There are also loads of puzzles and magazines in the 'green' building.13. The club house behind the office, has pool tables, kitchen, stage, potlucks, books, videos, & surely other distractions, too. Oh, yes! There's a bingo night once a week in snowbird season.14. The pines are special, ask the man about them, but DO NOT allow pets to take a toilet break on them.CONS:1. Security comes with loss of autonomy. No traffic in or out of the main gate (only one open). No rnter/exit from 11PM to 6AM - no exceptions. Alarm disturbs hosts.'Green' building is not private. Not only are there cameras in the main areas (you can see them), but also listening devices. I've had conversations quoted back to me having only been spoken there.2. Noise...it is non-stop. Trains do not blow their horns after late night in town, BUT 81 Palms is at the end of their noise restricted corridor and they are very loud! There seems to be a siding there, too. Trains breaking, some bashing together, are particularly noisy and disturbing. It has been enough to wake even long term campers who thought they were used to them.3. I-10 is right there running parallel to the road entrance to 81 Palms. There have been fires on tractor trailers, accidents, ambulance and other emergency response vehicles, policing sirens, too.4. Too many park regulatory signs! 'Nuff said.5. Man did drive a noisy, but beloved truck through park with wagon loaded for maintenance. Truck brokedown a month or so ago and his newer truck is quieter. 6. Junk is piled hither and yon. There are old tires, buckets, rotting wood piles, equipment and 'stuff' along the interior walls and fenced-in work yards and buildings for that purpose. The sheriff cars at the entrance look bad, but may be a good deterrence. There's a ladder and scaffolding leaning against the 'club' house which has been there at least a year.7. Some overnighters rudely do not pick up after their dogs in the dog runs or they allow them to eliminate waste at their campsites fouling the soil and water points. There are enough signs to direct where poop and pee should be no problem.Addn'l info: be prepared to find you share space with the wild ones! Roadrunners, mourning doves, thrashers, tumbleweeds, a number of insects, but no other predators there.

I went to this park to make a reservation. I am a disabled veteran that requires me to have Service Dogs. The old man owner was incredibly rude and very angry person. He denied me a space because he didn't like my dogs which are well mannered and trained. He is in violation of the Americans with disabilities act. Which I am going to file charges. I urge all RV'ers to avoid this park. I urge all Veterans to boycott this park
