I drove all the way from Santa Fe on 12/27/2023 to drop off truck. I was told bring it and we will start on it next year. They finished up on 1/12/2024. The reason for why it took so long was leed time on parts and I was good with that. Picked up next day and drove my 07 Classic Duramax back home. 22 mpg was my new average compared to 12.8 mpg!I have owned 4 GM Diesel trucks and never found a good diesel tech in Santa Fe. I will bring them my 2023 AT4 for service when needed. I found my new diesel tech!Thank you Spears Automotive!

We were moving my son from Tucson and stopped in Bernalillo NM for the night. The next morning my 2001 F-250 sounded like the engine was blown.We had it towed to Spear's and after some diagnosing they discovered that it was a massive fuel leak that was caused by a electrical connection that goes through the valve cover and caused all the injectors on that side to not work. He was we to clean up the connector and get the truck working again.We thought we were looking at around $10,000 or more to replace the engine but we ended up spending less than $1,000.Thank you so much Sue and family at Spear's Automotive.

The technicians were very knowledgeable, took there time to make sure my fj60 was ready for the road. They did a great job on Tunning up the engine and they installed a new EFI. GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE THERE!

Not only does this place know what they re doing, they do it in a way that nobody else s and that is with the absolute best customer service I ve ever seen! If there s something wrong with your vehicle, you would literally be silly to take it anywhere else! Consider breaking something on your vehicle just to see what it s like Lol! Truly, I cannot recommend these people enough. I will never be going anywhere else as long as I m in New Mexico!

I called and was able to bring my pickup in the next day. They gave me a ride back! Then, had it finished that day at a very reasonable price and picked me up. Genuinely nice staff and had good info on hiking trails in the area too. I highly recommend Spear.

We stopped here for an oil change on my mini cooper while on a cross country road trip. They were able to fit us in right away, didn't have the filter in stock but were able to get one within 20 minutes and were so very friendly and thorough. The mechanic who worked on my car thoroughly explained the code he pulled up for my check engine light, and the man at the front desk was personable, easy to talk with and gave us great recommendations for stops on our trip. Prices were fair and work was quality. 5 stars!

Only got a diagnostic, but mechanic showed me exactly what issues were and how to proceed. Warranty is very competitive, so I'll be back for the repairs too complex for DIY.Super professional staff that works with you. Highly recommend.

I have been a customer for 17 years. Spent a lot of money with routine maintenance and performance upgrades. Honest people, discount for NRA and military. The technicians are absolutely amazing in product knowledge. Great family business super customer service. 5 stars plus.

Great work at a great price! People don t understand the value of an extremely great and highly skilled technician these days. The fact that vehicles are getting more and more complicated, highly accentuates that particular fact. There is more time, training and tools associated with keeping your vehicle on the road these days! Not to mention the fact that mechanics have to pay for all of their tools out of their pockets! Spear s Automotive has great, knowledgeable technicians who are dedicated to their trade; keeping up with the times (upgrading software for their diagnosis tools constantly, purchasing all associated tools) and are able to stay progressive, professional and at the same time, remain more than competitive with current labor rates! They also offer a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on all of their work!

Awesome family owned shop with unmatched experience going to work on your vehicle. I got a Ram 2500 Cummins and they helped set me up nicely with a couple repairs and upgrades.I'll go to them every time.

Took a 21 year old Lincoln town car to get window motors repaired. Was quoted $666, which seemed high, but I did not have time to fix myself. When I picked they blindsided me with a bill for $767. They made a "mistake" on the labor.When I had a construction company, I would man up and eat the mistake.This was my first and last experience with this company, but not the last time I tell this story.Service: Auto glass repair

So this gem is the go to spot for all my diesel service needs. Aftermarket accessories to repairs this place is the ONLY place in NM where there is a sense of pride in their work. Whether it be a simple oil change or a full engine tear down Chris Spears and his techs make it happen. Do yourself a favor and check them out. You won t regret it and the quality will be there start to finish.

These guys just finished working on my 2 older Van's and got them BOTH back on the road. Super honest and hardworking folks. No wonder they have been in business over 40 years and will continue to be the best place to take you vehicle for all it needs!

I took my 2002 Ford F350 truck in for specific front end work to be performed. I included a letter in writing and taped another copy to the steering wheel for the mechanics to see. The letter asked for a caster setting of positive 5 degrees to be set up on the front end to provide stability when pulling my 5th wheel. They returned the truck to me with only a caster of 3.2 degrees and it still wandered all over the road. I was told it was in spec. Specifications for the front end include a wide range and a caster of 3.2 is insufficient and not what I had requested. After completion of a 4500 mile white knuckle trip pulling my 5th wheel, I had the caster set to 5 at another shop. It now pulls straight with no road wander. Spears also returned the truck to me with a major fuel leak. I was not informed about the leak until after I had returned home and repaired it myself. This shop is grossly negligent in releasing the truck with a fuel leak to any customer. They are also not responsive to customer requests for desired repairs. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. My experience with them was a huge waste of time and money.

Let me start with this, my experience with this Auto Mechanic Shop is THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience I have ever had in my entire life, PERIOD. To begin with, we were referred by a friend, and so drove 60 miles round-trip out of our way to take our vehicle here. When dropping off our vehicle at the agreed upon date, the receptionist was unpleasant. After leaving our car and renting a rental for the week there was zero communication about what was going on. We dropped it off on a Monday and so Wednesday afternoon when we decided to call to find out news. Again the receptionist was very rude and had no answers, and said she would call when she did. Fast forward, we pick up the car when they tell us it is finished on Friday. On the way home realized the car had the same issue. When calling to explain, she was again rude, and said to bring it back on Monday. So again we rented a car and drove to Cedar Crest. This was Monday. We received a call Wednesday saying that it may be the fuel injectors, that they looked at a few things. Today, she called and said it was indeed the injectors, maybe, and started throwing mechanic terms around for simple things. When my fiance explained he has gone to UTI, they stopped with that. So when we asked why our car had not been looked at until Wednesday, and the parts not ordered until today, she replied"Here's what we can do, you can pick up your car, I am through with you." and hung up. I returned the call flabbergasted, and she hung up again. I tried to level with her after finally getting her to answer, and expressed my concerns for her rude service after having driven my car from another city. She explained that she is usually very nice but I just must bring out the worst in her. I cannot believe the level of unprofessional conduct and lack of care that this business has. When I asked to speak to the owner of the company, she replied that she was the president of the company and showed me to the door.Again, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

I was charged a whole lot more than I expected. Was not given the chance to approve repairs/costs before proceeding. Labor rate is $105 per hour. They charge for estimates. My case was one hour worth at $105 and that amount does not go toward the overall cost of the repair. They do good work and back it up with a good warranty, but make sure and specifically ask them to contact you BEFORE doing any repairs. I think my case may have just been an oversight, but it ended up costing me a whole lot more money than i expected.

I've been doing business with the fine folks at Spear's for several years now. They have been able to help me out on short notice several times, often staying after hours to get the job done. I do not trust anyone else with my vehicles!

GREAT HONEST CHRISTIAN OWNED & RUN BUSINESS!!! Are you tired of dishonest and slow mechanics? Then you need to take your Car or Truck to the Spears for a new and wonderful experience! They Fixed my Truck FAST so I had my Sister and Brother in law take their Lexus SUV to them. The Lexus dealership told them that they needed a new Transmission Solenoid which would cost about $900 to replace with parts and labor. The Spears Fixed it in ONE DAY ... FOR FREE!!! They said it was only a Loose Solenoid which they tightened up and didn't charge my Sister one single cent! These people are Professional and can diagnose ANY problem INSTANTLY and Fix it FAST, FAST, FAST! If you live the East Mountains or Albuquerque or Santa Fe, you really need to take your Car and Truck problems to the Spears for an Honest and Refreshing Experience! .. FIVE STARS AND THEN SOME!!!

Over charged for simple oil change and safety check. But worse, I asked about a discount for either senior, AARP or AAA. They only give discounts to NRA members and veterens. I oppose the NRA membership discount and not to elderly or teachers or library card holders or ....

Took my diesel pickup in for an oil change told me I needed a serpentine belt charged $1,000 Plus for a 15-minute job.Please look it up for your self, Spears charged $400+ FOR THAT fan belt.
