Our ProMaster van was throwing check engine lights while passing through the area. Sam hooked it up and was able to assure us everything was fine. He spent 30 minutes with us at no charge and sent us on the way with confidence.

I stopped by unscheduled with a quick question about a weird noise my Jeep just started making and they took the time to check it out real quick and make sure it was good to drive until I could get it scheduled for repair. They were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service. They earned my future business for sure. Also received a quote for repair work. Very fair and transparent rates. Their yard was full so they re definitely busy/doing something right. 5 stars for me.

Absolutely phenomenal. Passionate about all things automotive and extremely knowledgeable. I am from dallas tx . And work out in the area in the Permian basin ( oil fields) so having my toyota tundra running its best is extremely important. This particular time, the mechanic came out, and it was a simple fix. But was prepared to tow my truck back to his shop if need be . As we talked you could hear the passion and enthusiasm this isn't just work but something that they love . They explained future concerns I might have with my vehicle and will do the modification I am looking to get done as well. These are the mechanics you search and hope to find your whole life. I'm definitely calling and getting future work on my truck done with them .

I called The Mechanic on the advice of O'Reilly auto parts for a service engine light code. Although he wasn't able to fit me in before I had to travel on, he took the time to text with me about the likely problem with my van and reassure me that it was safe to keep driving. He didn't have to do that at all considering I wasn't going to be able to give him my business at this time. Very kind and honest!

Was traveling through and my fuel pump gave out and Sam and crew came and got my truck took it to their shop and fixed it same day in a few hours!! Very professional, prompt service. I live in Colorado and was on a road trip to New Mexico with my young daughters for their spring break. Suddenly, while driving on the highway, the 'D' (drive) gear indicator on my car's dashboard started blinking continuously, which was quite alarming. Fortunately, I happened to visit a nearby garage, The Mechanic. There, they meticulously inspected my car and thoroughly checked for any safety issues. They even printed out the error codes, gave it to me and provided invaluable advice on how to handle the issue, all with a smile and without charging any fee. Our family was incredibly relieved and grateful, as we were under serious stress due to the unexpected car trouble during our trip. Thanks to their help, we were able to resolve the issue through Honda's official service and safely complete our journey. Once again, I want to express my gratitude to The Mechanic.

Our van broke down in the mountains, and these amazing people stayed open on a Saturday afternoon to fix it for us. 3 hours later we were on the road again. They are very knowledgeable and did not overcharge us, even though they could have. We are so thankful to have found such a great, honest mechanic!!!

Sam was fantastic! I called him and he was very helpful and honest. I have a new 2023 Corolla and it was stuck on a tow dolly. The braking system malfunctioned and I wasn't able to back up off the dolly. I was in town for just two days and had a reservation at the Carlsbad Caverns. I was worried I would miss my reservation. However, I drove my RV and car over to Sam and he cleared the 8 alerts on my car. I drove my car off in less than 30 minutes! I made it to my reservation and I have my car back! I highly recommend him to anyone in the area. He was also very fairly priced!

Having worked here for a few months, I learned more about cars than I learned in the last 3 years. Sam Munoz and Rusty (the owners) are both U.S. Military Veterans and they are among some of the best and most knowledgeable people in New Mexico. They are VERY meticulous about how work is done and it shows in the reviews, Quality of work, and customer satisfaction. I would recommend these guys any day of the year over ANY Mechanic. Whether it s a Foreign or Domestic vehicle, they have you covered. I rate 5 stars because Google doesn t have 10.

Oilfield worker review here.I reached out to Sam and the mechanic shop after seeing great reviews. I was not disappointed. Sam responded within an hour to my message. Had a fuel pump fail on me on the way home from the job site. My truck was literally in the middle of nowhere on a lease road. I was able to finally get triple A to tow it to the mechanic shop but Sam had mentioned if I had any issues he d be out there to tow it for me next day to his shop. I told him how this was my ride to and from work and even though I could see from his shop he was very busy he squeezed me in and had parts and my dodge hemi back up and running within 2 days. Truck is running great and it was much appreciated he tackled the problem very quickly. His team there was very polite and knowledgeable. If you need a good honest mechanic at a very fair price you can t go wrong with the mechanic .Service: General repairs & maintenance

Excellent service with very fair pricing. Stopped at the shop at 10:30am with the abs fault lights on in my GMC Canyon. Replaced a sensor. By 1:00pm I was out the door. All fixed. Thanks to Sam and all the guys at The Mechanic. Highly recommend!!!

Sam is an honest and technically proficient mechanic.My family and I were on hour 8 of a 9 hour drive and got a 4WD service light. Sam looked at what we did to trouble shoot the issue and knew exactly what to do. He gave us instructions and sent us on our way without charging us a cent. If I lived within an hour of this shop I would drive out of my way to have Sam work on my vehicles.

Listen, pulling up to this place is gonna seem sketchy at first. Push that. I've been having battery problems in my minivan for almost 2 months, and I pulled up to their gate with my family and asked for some help. While they couldn't get me an exact part I needed for my kia sedona (it needed to be serviced by a dealership), they went out of their way to help me fix my battery issue with my family still in the car, spent time in the rain explaining what the problem could be and how to approach the dealership with what I needed, and made sure that nothing else could have been a factor so that a dealership couldn't scam me for money on false issues. After about an hour and a half of friendly conversation and working on my van, the price they told me was 1 cent. They also recognize they don't have a prime location but they had measures to ensure no one weird was loitering around their shop, and it felt like a safe enviroment. If I ever pass through carlsbad again, I will probably do some trivial damage to my vehicle just to have an excuse to bring my vehicle back in again and have some good conversation and reliable service. 10/10 thank yall again.

Great job, I'm from out of town and started having a transmission leak. I took my truck in, and they found it right away took care of it in a few hours and got me back on the road, best mechanic in carlsbad, New Mexico

Sam's a super honest, good mechanic and great guy. He took care of us while on a road trip and we broke down. He got us in first thing the next day, quoted us an honest price, fixed the car quickly and even charged us a little less cause he knocked the job out so fast. He could have tried to take advantage of us but just didn't. If you're in a bind or just need some work done, strongly recommend!!

Great experience here, gave Sam a call about a simple fix with my brake dust cover. As I'm just passing through from a cross country trip I was unable to fix it myself. He gave me a eta on when was a good time to stop by his shop, and he fixed it up in no time. (Even with a stripped set screw) Sam is also a very friendly and hospitable guy, easy to talk to. If I am ever in the area again and need automotive repairs, I will definitely come back. Highly recommend!Service: General repairs & maintenance

We needed some maintenance on our Class A Diesel Pusher while we were in Carlsbad, NM. The Mechanic was recommended to us by the campground.We called Sam and discussed what we needed. He came out the next day and performed an oil change on my Cummings Diesel engine and Onan Generator including fuel filters and water separator, along with a chassis lube. He completed the work quickly, easily, and professionally. The price was more than fair and Sam was great to work with. I highly recommend Sam The Mechanic for any mechanical work. Called Sam to do oil change and maintenance on the generator in our Motorhome while we were staying at an RV park in Carlsbad. He came out to our site and performed the work we requested within the next couple of days after we called. Everything was left very clean and cost was extremely reasonable. As promised, I returned to this mechanic. My coolant was still leaking and he was more than willing to diagnose and repair the problem. I was asked to review him each visit. So, it is with regret that I am posting this review which is going to be a little lengthy. I live in my car and am disabled and poor. When he beat the price on fixing my struts, I spent the last six weeks in this town grinding by way of door dash to save the money. Then a blinker goes out. I called him to see if he would fix my blinker. He scoffed at me. I took it in stride, made an appointment for a few days later. I showed, he was less than friendly towards me. He pulled the light out and told me what part I needed and to run to the part store to get it and that if they didn t have it, to call him and he would go ahead and get the struts ordered as well as the part I needed which was the connector. I did as instructed. I called him when neither part store had the connector. He asks if they could order it. I told him I didn t know that I was just doing what he asked. He snapped back let me call you back later. Now I know I am poor. And I know it took me a long time to save up the money but I did not expect to be treated that way. Nonetheless, I waited around because he left my bulb disconnected and made my turn signal situation worse. I at least, had a light before he disconnected it. The next morning, still no phone call so, I went to YouTube, learned how to fix a blinker, went to dodge, bought the part and fixed my own damn blinker by myself. My coolant is still leaking so that s not completely resolved yet. We are four days later now and no return call. I am a firm believer of keeping the money where it s earned however it seems that won t be happening in this case. It wasn t until today that I realized my previous review of him was not acknowledged by him like the others. Sam, the mechanic, is a nice guy and knows his stuff but has left me no choice but to move my less than and financially poor self forward. Go to him or don t. I won t. I don t need a mechanic to scoff at me and I certainly don t need his less than professional attitude as if I deserved to be snapped at the way he did. Hey Sam! Next time, don t waist my time. Just say you don t want the work. And if you can t afford repairs from the jump, save yourself the humiliation.

My boyfriend and I are currently living out of an older 1990 Ford E350 that has been converted to a tiny home. We d been having issues with our ignition and could barely get the key to turn while parked at the local Walmart. We called around and Sam came to us with his tools in about half an hour and fixed the problem right there. We thought we were going to be stranded for days! Sam is very knowledgeable and even helped us re-mount a speaker that had become loose in the door.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had my car at bobcat auto and detail for 2 months 1700,00 to put a fuel pump in that's just not realistic . The mechanic seen my car and had it started within a day 130.00 for a fuel pump up and running great thank you ,THE Mechanic I'll be taking my car to you from now on.
