Was worried about my brakes and found Larry's Service Center right next to the Range Cafe. Alfred is a personable and capable young man and an excellent mechanic. He offered a free brake test and told me I needed new pads on the front and only a cleaning on the back. It's sad to say that half of the mechanics out there would have done a $500 pads and rotor replacement all around. The shop is a homey 50 year old father and son business. Alfred explains everything, his prices are very reasonable, and I hope he stays in business another 50 years.

Alfred is everything you want in a mechanic. He's very smart and very fair with his pricing. He treats your car like it was his own. You will not find a better mechanic in this area. AND he's a very nice person on top of all that. My best mechanic experience by far! Alfred was fantastic in explaining everything to me, and I feel it was a really fair price for all the work I had done. They went above and beyond for my kids and I, and my van rides and drives SO much better! Thank you! I ll be back!

I was on a road trip across the country, struck debris on the highway which damaged my exhaust system, and needed a repair. Alfred at Larry's got me in immediately, assessed the situation, and explained the options. The repair was perfect, the price was more than fair and I got back back on the road that morning. This is a family shop. Honest, fair, friendly, with excellent mechanics. If they weren't 1200 miles away, I'd go to them every time. Thanks Alfred!

We can't say enough good things about Larry's Service Center. While driving from Colorado Springs to Flagstaff, our alternator decided to die. Larry's got us in on a busy day, they wrenched over an hour past business hours, and did the whole job for a fraction of the cost that other shops quoted us.We pulled in, handed Alfred the keys, he slid a fan underneath the van to cool off the engine and alternator, we went to the diner next door to eat dinner -- by the time we returned our drained battery was on the battery tender and the new alternator was ready to go in. Before we knew it he was running an alternator / battery diagnostic test, and handing us back the keys.Whether you're local or traveling through, we couldn't imagine a better place to have your vehicles worked on. Larry's Service Center literally turned a bad day into a pleasant experience and we were back on the road in no time!

Found Larry's Service Center on google map when my Odyssey's battery and charging system light came on during my road trip to New Mexico. Saw some good reviews online and thought i would swing by Larry's Service Center first after making a few phone calls to check around the auto shops in town the next morning. When I first passed by the shop, I completely missed it as it is not conspicuous. All garages were closed with only a small "open" sign tucked between the windows. I had to make a U-turn and pulled up the back of the building, yet don't see any open garages. I pulled up the side of the building and walked in the door and was stumped for a moment when greeted by an elderly couple and a child. I thought I was in the wrong shop until I met Alfred in the adjacent service area.After talking to Alfred about the problem, he checked the battery s voltage and did an OBD scan. The battery is ok, and the OBD codes narrow the issue to the alternator. Alfred gave me the costs to replace the alternator, new and remanufactured. I was skeptical at first and asked Alfred to check the connections since I just had the drive belt removed for oil pump leak service before the road trip. I was concerned that the previous mechanic may not have reconnected properly. Alfred checked and didn t see any issue with the connections. Not wanting to risk another 1,500 miles around NM and back to CA, I went with the new alternator, but the new alternator turned out to be defective after installation and had to be swapped out with a remanufactured one, which was the only option at that time. I waited in the shop for both the alternator replacements, which were done swiftly. Alfred charged me for the remanufactured alternator cost and the labor is reasonable.Coming from California, I am pleasantly surprised to find such a family-oriented, personable auto shop in Bernalillo. Alfred took the time to look at my vehicle and accommodated me between several cars that he was working on to get me back on the road right before Christmas. I am glad I didn t judge the shop by the outward look, the inside is packed with over half a century of auto repair experience and as much sophisticated tools as the love of the family working together to serve the Bernalillo area. I made my way to White Sand and Carlsbad and back in California without a hitch after the repair thanks to Alfred.

I just picked up my Honda CRV from Larry's Service Center yesterday. Alfred took the time to explain everything to me and even showed me the damaged part that he replaced for me. His wife Melissa even offered to pick me up from my home since I didn't have a ride. I'm new to town, so I'm glad I found a mechanic that I can trust. I was visiting family when a service light came on in my car. I needed to make a long drive the next day but wanted to make sure the car was safe to drive. They got me in the same day and did a diagnostic. They were very honest and told me I was okay to drive home and get it fixed there. He told me what the issue was and even priced it out so I could show my mechanic when I got home.

Larry s Service Center did an amazing job on my mom s vehicle. Hometown service, no qualms with client service. Very fair priced. He found an issue with the vehicle that another corporate mechanic service previously worked on and fixed the issue for us. Alfred was punctual, friendly, courteous and professional. Diagnosed and took care of of a sticky hood release latch and didn't even charge me. Definitely impressed, and will have Alfred service all my vehicles. Thanks!!

Larry's is a great place, Albert is amazing, from someone who normally does all his car maintenance this is the mechanic I'd take my vehicles to. Trustworthy knowledgeable and genuine, there aren't a lot of these types of places left.My experience:I made an appointment at Larry's, Albert was able to get me in promptly, worked on my truck at the time he specified, provided timelines and adhered to those timelines, kept in good communication, went over the itemized replacement parts list before doing the work and confirmed the price, gave me options, and completed the work on time. When I came to get the truck Albert showed me the parts he replaced went over a couple other odds and ends he noticed and made some time to shoot the breeze with me. Unfortunately, after $1000 AC repair on my Honda CRV, including new compressor the AC is still not working. Disappointed and I am hundreds of miles from the shop. Nice people but this was my third AC repair bill!

This is a wonderful family business I return to again and again for all my automotive needs. Alfred always takes the time to explain to me what's going on with my car or if there is something in the future that will need to be taken care of. He always does an honest and professional diagnosis. Even if I am just getting an oil change, he always does an outstanding job and checks everything. My car is running great--and we are way over 200,000 miles at this point! Larry's Service center is great! They did a brake job - all new front and back on our SUV. Didn't charge an outrageous amount, and I know that for sure because I shopped it around. When we came to pick up the truck, he took me in the back and showed me the old parts, which I appreciated. Thanks Larry! YOU ROCK!

Just took my truck in for a quick fix. Alfred is the man if you're looking for a mechanic. He explained what was wrong and what issues to look out for in the future. He also made me look myself to see what the problem was. I recommend anyone to see Alfred if you have any mechanical problems.

Great experience, I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for service or repair on their vehicle! I was shocked by the cost the dealership wanted to charge for spark plug replacements and was referred to go to this shop. Alfred was great and did a great job! Not only did he replace my spark plugs, but he noticed some other issues that needed to be fixed and communicated these to me, and then worked on fixing those issues. I am very pleased with the service as well as the honesty and care of the employees!

We called Larry's Service Center on a Friday right at 6pm (when they close). Due to a fuel line issue, our RV was stuck at our KOA campsite, which was about a mile down the road from their shop. They picked up and mentioned they were booking out two weeks, but they happened to be working on another job the next day (Saturday) and said they would come to us when they were done to see what they could do. Alfred was very knowledgeable and knew how to fix the problem. He got us up in running within a couple of hours. I highly recommend their shop. As travelers we are always weary of calling on a new shop, afraid to get taken advantage of. We are so lucky to have called the right place! Thanks again!!

This place is amazing! They offer the best service and are the nicest people you'll ever see. I drove up with a broken shield under my car -- and they fixed it for free!! While traveling through NM we had fuel filter and engine light come on our truck while pulling our fifth wheel. We found Larry s Service Center on Google and Alfred, Larry s son was a Godsend. He professionally changed both fuel filters and reset the idiot lights within 1.5 hours and we cannot express how much he is a pro mechanic and Great guy. Excellent place, highly recommended. I ve tried 4 mechanics in the area, Alfred is absolutely the best. Honest, great prices and fast. He did a job for literally HALF what one of the big chains quoted me!!

Truck battery died so I had it towed to Larry s. So glad they were the closest repair shop. Alfred was very busy and the shop was supposed to be closed but he went above and beyond to help. Turns out the alternator wire came loose and it was a quick simple fix but Alfred got right on it and I was back on the road in no time at all. I highly recommend Larry s for your automotive needs!Service: Battery

Larry's service center did an amazing job on my passenger side mirror replacement. I called the day before the job and made an appointment but forgot the time. The day of the appointment, I dropped of my car two hours early during lunch time. Larry's service center was still able to take my car early and had the new mirror on within an hour. I am now back on the road and driving safe with a new mirror. If you need auto service, remember to shop local and stop in to the shop on main street. Thank you to Larry's service center!!!

We were traveling on U.S. 550 S north of Albuquerque NM in our 42 foot motor coach, pulling our car, when we became aware that our full width mud flap on the rear of the coach had torn in half, probably during a refueling stop in Durango CO. The left half of the flap was gone, but the right half was still attached by a u-bolt and dragging behind the coach. If it had broken loose it could have damaged the car. A quick search online for a repair facility turned up Larry s and we headed for this service center. Alfred, Larry s son dropped everything to determine the best way to remove the piece and quickly decided the fastest way was to cut the bolt using an oxyacetylene torch. He did that in short order and refused to accept any payment for his services. I would highly recommend these folks, Larry, Alfred and Carmen Cacaus, for your car and RV repairs!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Not knowing anyone in the area, I feel very lucky that I ended up here when I had issues with my Landcruiser and had to pick a mechanic randomly. Alfred is very honest and committed to making sure the job is done right. He is very friendly and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Larry's Service Center for over a decade, and they have seen me through two Honda Civics. I was recommended to them originally after a bad experience with another shop and always feeling taken by the costly prices of the dealership. Larry's has been my trusted go-to ever since, and on multiple occasions they have gone above and beyond in more ways than I can count. Alfredo is a SUPERB mechanic, something superseded by his reputation as among the best in the business. They never up-sell or push unnecessary services, and they always take the time to educate their customers on the basis for their recommendations. While I've worked outside of the area for the last many years, they're always worth the extra mile because of the extra distance they always go for their customers. Trusted and established, they're also the perfect pit stop for travelers to experience the enchanted heart of New Mexico.

Transmission bit the dust on my 2011 Silverado. Alfred diagnosed it and gave me a fair price on rebuilding it. Just got my truck back today and it s running and shifting like brand new.
