We have been staying at the Snow Mansion for a few years now and many stays in Arroyo Seco while skiing, and we absolutely love it. It is our favorite ski lodge and has begun to feel like a home away from home, helped greatly by the beautiful and homey cabin furnishing, art and historic rooms, and the extremely kind and helpful owners of the property. From getting to see the chickens foraging right outside, to the very dog and pet friendly accommodations, this is our go to lodge/hotel for the mountain and where we bring friends. Many of the rooms are very large and made to accommodate entire families or large groups of friends comfortably for a great price. Rooms are always clean and well furnished, and the kitchens and facilities are exceptional. We love it here and we will continue to stay year after year! Thank you for having us.Noteworthy details: There is excellent food right across the street, as well as beautiful locally run gift shops and artist shops. I recommend visiting each at least once if you can! There is not a single shop that isn t worth your time and that doesn t have really cool gifts, items, or incredible food. Tbe grocery store and cafe across the street is likewise excellent.

Giving European hostel vibes, this place had a lot of personality! Laid back, great communication and signage. We felt very at home here. Overall, cleanliness was great, as were the private bathrooms.Rooms: Comfy beds, spacious large room to accommodate up to 9 people, including bunk beds, wood & tile flooring (no gross carpet), and small kitchen area.Noteworthy details: We absolutely loved the communal kitchen and the common spaces that had a pool table, indoor gas fire pit, full bookcases, and a kids play corner with wooden dollhouse.

Cool little place next to the heart of Royal Seco, which means a handful of cool little shops. Was hoping for a hot tub, but they do have a big tub in the room, but I would suggest that a hot tub for the yes would be great addition in the future.Nearby activities: Short 10 minute drive to Taos and also a short 10 minute drive to Toski Valley so location is amazing and Arroyo Seco a very cool little town

This is a wonderful, eclectic hotel real close to Taos ski valley, with a great vibe and a real cozy common area for both relaxing in and a kitchen for cooking in! And your also in walking distance to a few great food places too!Rooms: The rooms were cozy and had plenty of space for a family of 5 or more to stay in.Nearby activities: Walking to some great food options and less than a 10 minute drive to Taos Ski Valley.Safety: We felt totally safe there!Walkability: Very close walkable eateries.Food & drinks: Plenty of food choices to walk to between restaurants and a small grocery storeNoteworthy details: The common area, both the living room area and the kitchen, dining area were great to meet other guests and chat!

Stayed 8 days. Set aside time each day to just BE in my room. Great sized charming room with more seating , more space, more natural light, more charm than I ever could have expected. Just a nice place to beNoteworthy details: An older building but beautifully maintained with charm you can t find in new cookie cutter hotels

My family landed here after a long 4 week road trip. This was our last stop before heading home to Texas. Booking the hotel online was simple. The owner called me to welcome me and expressed his gratefulness for me booking with them. I received complete instructions for check in and was easily able to access my room. The interior of the lobby is awesome and authentic. Rooms are unique and overall the place feels like nothing else I ve seen or stayed in.

SnowMansion was a great place to stay and we would definitely go back if/when in the area. We would like to plan a winter trip sometime since we were there in the summer. The rooms were comfortable for our group. I like how the toilet & sink are separate from the shower. The shower head sprayed everywhere and wasn t able to be adjusted but that is an easy fix. The shower is nice & the water was hot & the pressure was good. The doors have keypad locks but it would be nice if they had deadbolts or latches to lock from the inside. There is a pool table and a lot of seating in the commons area. This is a cool spot, felt authentic, & is located within walking distance to shops, a market, ice cream, and restaurants. It is also conveniently located between the town of Taos & the ski village. The hosts are great & communicate well & in a very timely manner.Walkability: Park at SnowMansion and walk to the shops and restaurants, cool village, neat vibe.

I love this place. I have been several times and will go back. Location is convenient to Taos and also to the Rio Grande Gorge and to the ski mountain. Are the rooms are clean and up-to-date, I have always been very comfortable. I have always stated the Pearl Annex with a private room, bath and huge bathtub. I have toured and spoken with people who stayed in the main building who loved it. I appreciate the no contact check in process. They were also very responsive to my needs via text message throughout my stay. The gardens are lovely, this is a tiny farm. It s a great coffee shop across the street and several restaurants within a short walk.

Once a great budget accommodation for backpackers, this is no longer a hostel but a hotel.

Beautiful small house, clean and perfect for a nice vacation, Owners & staff are pleasant and are very responsive. Good Wi-Fi, coffee and some breakfast options provided, Love to go back there.Only issue we had was the bath tub and plumbing around it. some slice of water was spilling out from the pipes. They have a small grocery store across the house and some very good sandwich shops around.ACEQ restaurant is very famous which is right across the street and mostly need a reservation.Ski Valley is around 15 miles and is well connected.Nearby activities: Ski valley is well connected in around 12-15 milesWalkability: Walkable to food joints and grocery stores around, but would need to commute for anything else.Food & drinks: Many options nearby but keep a note most outlets close early.ACEQ restaurant is good but you would need a reservation.

SnowMansion was the perfect place! Flawless checkin, clean room, hot water. The host was very friendly and checked on us to make sure we were happy! We stayed in the Pearl Annex Sunset Suite. It is downstairs with a suite above you. Remember the building is over 200 years old and has wood floors. So you can hear the walking above you. But we brought a fan for noise and it was perfect. We also had a washer and dryer that came in handy after a day on the slopes. The main lodge has a huge kitchen where you can cook and a nice place to just relax and meet people. We will definitely come back!!

What an unexpected find in Arroyo Seco, a true welcoming hostel vibe. Very clean, no chemical smell like you find in cheap hotels. Great communal kitchen area with a big dining table, and an open gathering space with a pool table. The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. We're in the middle of a 2 month road trip and this is our favourite place of all. The village also has so many wonderful places to eat and shop, Arroyo Seco is a great place to be,!

Snow Mansion is warm and inviting. The hosts Yeti and gentlemen we always spoke to are the best. We had full access to a fridge, kitchen, and game room. Our accommodations were clean, tidy, & the guest services checked on us daily to ensure our stay was great. The best thing Is the location. The lodge is walking distance from a grocery store, restaurants & shops. Small but cozy! Thanks!

We loved our stay at this historic hotel. The bed is comfortable. The space is attractive with fabulous art. We respect the use of refurbished furnishings. We stayed upstairs in a suite away from the main lodge. It is conveniently located next toa fantastic coop and a great restaurant. The gardens out back are beautiful. The staff is friendly, helpful and goabove and beyond to be accommodating.Thank you Subra and all for making our trip so pleasant!

It is not your typical lodge when you think of a lodge. However, the customer service care is top notch. Personalized texts from the morning of your first day staying-helping you to book your room. Electronic check-in that is very convenient. A large shared kitchen that you can cook all your own food at. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Great rate too!

This is a nice family owned business.I stayed at the dormitory in order to save money, and I could hear hear people walking on the floor on the room above. But I slept well with ear plugs ;-)Both tenants and staff were very nice and the place felt safe. There is also a kitchen and basic supplies provided for free. All in all I enjoyed my experience.I would recommend it to people who value atmosphere over a "new" looking space.

This place is pretty cool. The old hostel bunk dorm rooms are now hotel rooms. Cozy living room common area with fireplace and pool table. Shared kitchen available if you want to use it. Good wifi. Building is old and creaky so you might need to use earplugs if you're a light sleeper, but location is great, halfway between Taos downtown and Taos Ski Valley. Great food across the street at Taos Cow (breakfast, coffee and ice cream) and ACEQ (dinner). Easy access with keypad and manager is easy to contact via text at any time.

Full kitchen and outdoor grill, the garden is extremely cute and fits the hippie vibe, the area the hotel is in (Arroyo Seco) feels much safer than in Taos proper such that you can take walks in the cool night, the staff is very nice and warm, there is little traffic and you feel secluded in a good way. Even though certain things are done remotely, they are extremely responsive by text/call.

I loved it here. I had booked the wrong night and the host was kind enough to accommodate me and I got to stay in the balcony suite. It was comfortable, clean and had character. The host gave me a perfect tip for a day trip to the Rio Grande Gorge. The Lodge had everything I needed and is in walking distance from a great cafe and market, restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay at the SnowMansion again :)

I've stayed here twice now and will likely be back. It is a charming place decorated in the local style. Perfect proximity to the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley. I love that there is a full kitchen. It's not fancy, but that's not what you're paying for if you're staying here. It is a comfortable place to stay.

The lounge/ sitting area is very nice and has puzzles, games, books, pool table, chess. That is a plus but the shower area in the room doesn't have any hooks or bars to hang clothes, towels etc. We were on the first floor and could hear every step people upstairs took. Constant creaking specifically in the morning was bothersome. They did provide earplugs though if it is any consolation.I will change my 2 star to a three star because I did enjoy the lounge.
