We were at a complete loss over our truck. The engine was banging and clicking. We assumed we needed a new engine. After several mechanics and numerous quotes, we found Route 66 by referral from a car dealership. We drove right over, and upon arrival, we were met by Steve. He knew exactly what the issue was. We didn't hesitate. We booked an appointment. We were told we needed a new engine, and the truck would be done in 3 days. Steve did as he promised and exceeded our expectations. Steve is my go-to mechanic for any of our vehicles.He's honest, reliable, friendly, and affordable.You are definitely in good hands with these guys.

I FINALLY found a mechanic that I can trust! Steve and his crew were clear with constant communication during the process of getting my 1966 Ford Mustang back on the road. Fair prices and impressed with how Steve was determined to making sure the job was done right. Grateful to find Route 66 Auto and Truck.

Got there because I needed of there service for my car. Saw the Mustang they are selling upfront and decided to buy it as well. Went into the office where two workers were chatting it up. I proceeded to stand there for about 5 min without being acknowledged or talked to despite there being no other costumers and both of them having eye contact with me. If you want to talk, set up a date and time and go on a date with your coworker. If you re at your job, you have to attend to your customers. They only tried to talk and help me after I stood there awkwardly waiting for them to stop and then they spoke up when I opened the door to leave.

Took in my 2001 Toyota Tacoma thinking it had a misfire or so it felt like it. I had already replaced the plugs, checked the coils and fuel injectors. Turns out it was a broken fan blade that was causing the issue. I would have never figured that out.

Steve is an expert in diagnosing engine warning lights and fixing the problems. He also took care of my brakes and oil while he was fixing my fuel system issue. Amazing job and I was happy with the price I paid. It's very important to have an honest mechanic that won't take advantage of you and knows what he's doing. Excelente customer service, excelente mechanic, really honest and fair with prices, he is busy but the wait is worth it! Had my truck fix it twice, the first time he replaced transmission and transfercase, 2nd time engine and all the work is very good my truck hasn't comeback ones for anything related to the work he had done. Recomend percent.

I am very pleased with the work and customer service provided by this shop. We all know that good and trustworthy mechanics are hard to find. I travel over a hour to get my truck serviced. I would recommend Route 66 for those who are still searching for a great mechanic with reasonable prices.

Best auto mechanic around. Steve �is great! He arrived early and went above and beyond to make sure the work was done correctly. He even fought with my warranty to to make sure my truck was fixed right the first time. Thank you so much.

The best of the best! I recently took my hybrid car here and couldn t be happier with the service I received. Steve was professional, honest, and extremely knowledgeable in hybrid repairs. I took my vehicle to several places and was quoted $200 more then what Steve charged me. The parts I received at this shop were made specifically for my car with warranty! Steve s shop is also one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Looks like I found the best shop in town!! I will be taking my vehicles here for all work needed :)

I m extremely impressed with the service and professionalism with this shop. I have always worked on my own vehicles due to my park of trust and a family full of mechanics myself so I never really needed one. But this time I took the chance of getting my truck repaired by someone else and I am definitely going to be using this shop here forward ! Steve the owner is a great guy to have fix your car. He's got plenty of experience and charges a nice rate, like $85 compared to other places that charge you around $100+. His shops clean too which definitely lets you know that he keeps things in order and watches out for your vehicle. Definitely would go here for any automotive needs.

Steve is an outstanding mechanic. He has been very professional with the repair of my boat. I had to replace the engine in it and he was very easy to communicate with as far as telling me why the repairs were needed and he sent me pictures to show me everything. I was very happy. I recommend Steve to everyone.

I wish I could give this shop ten stars! My husband and I will not go anywhere else when we need work done on our car. When it comes to expert care and knowledge the owner Steve and his staff are the best we have found in Albuquerque. Steve makes it so affordable for us as well. We are proud to highly recommend Route 66 Auto Repair!!

To provide a quick background, I was referred to this business by a parts store employee. I also saw positive reviews. I called and spoke with Steve on more than one occasion. Originally I was supposed to take my vehicle in last week but was asked to call 1st. I did. It went to voice mail. So I didn't take the vehicle in. I called again this past Saturday and made an appt. for today at 10:00am. My name and number was provided. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door that stated they were out picking up parts. I waited over 35 minutes and left. I called the business number that was left on the door twice. I also left a text message. I did not receive a reply to either. So I called from a friend's business. Surprise, Steve answered. I gave my name and reminded him of our scheduled appt. No response at first. He stated he was out back working and then that he was out getting parts. He stated it took longer to get the parts. When I asked why he hadn't called me to reschedule or that he was running late, he asked me what I wanted him to do. I said an apology would be a start. He reluctantly stated he was sorry for having to pick up parts and it taking longer to return (45 minutes later) or that he did not have his phone. I reminded him that he provides a service and the least he could do is apologize and try to make it right. Nothing like that. It wasn't until I said I was going to write an unfavorable review that I received 3 follow up text messages. In his texts he proceeded to state that because of Biden's administration, he is short staffed, that he does not always carry his appt. ledger or phone to contact clients when he leaves his shop. He proceeded to deflect his unprofessionalism and poor customer service toward me stating I was not understanding and patient. How would I have been understanding when he did not contact me to explain the situation or that we needed to reschedule. Nor did he reach out to my two missed calls and text message? Who does that? Bottom line he was more concerned about his personal issues and did not show any understanding with my situation, a customer with concerns for her vehicle and need of repairs. Oh and his feelers were hurt because I said sh__. He promised that he was going to state that in his response to my review. Needless to say, I would not recommended this business. I hope you too have a wonderful day, Steve.Unfortunately I must reply to Steve recent post regarding my review and the multiple text messages I have received. To be transparent, I never received messages alerting me of his delay in fulfilling the scheduled appointment this morning.. He did not respond to calls or texts from my cell phone but did respond when I called from a landline. I have received multiple text messages, 20 to be exact, from Steve following my review. To be clear, at no time have I harassed Steve, his business, or his family. I merely stated the sequence of events. The option to submit a review of services rendered, or as in my case, not rendered, is part of his website. The review is true and accurate. In his most recent text, Steve actually threatened to take legal action against me stemming from my review claiming that by submitting the review on google I am harassing him, his business, and family. Based on these and other comments, I will be blocking Steve's number so to not receive further communication.

This has got to be one of the best shops in the area! You can see and feel Steve s passion and love for his job. He is always thinking about how to save you money and yet do his job professionally. Thanks for fixing our truck, Steve. You will be our go-to man!

I brought two of my vehicles to this shop and haven t been disappointed. They have been so incredibly informative, inexpensive, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly during my experience. Steve has informed me that both of my vehicles were unsafe to drive and I will continue to bring my vehicles here because that how much I trust them. I recommend this auto shop to all. Thanks!

Steve and his crew treat the cars they work with the care as if the cars were their own. They are super knowledgeable at diagnosing what was wrong quickly saving me time and money. It s hard to find good folks like this and I am super happy and will definitely return!!!

My youngest son Steven Chase is the owner and I had him work on my 1996 Dodge Caravan air conditioner recently since it was not working properly and now it blows out cold air and finally keeps me cool in this hot weather. He and his two mechanics do awesome work and I would recommend anyone to go to his shop for their auto repairs.

STOP! These people are liars with horrible communication. I was told multiple things had been done to my vehicle over the course of months to find out nothing had been done. Route 66 was recommended by an acquaintance, and I couldn't be more satisfied. If you're tired of the dealership game, and want knowledgeable persons working on your machine, this is the place to go. Eric and Steve know their stuff. The price was fair, and my truck runs like it should. Thanks guys.

Friendly, quick, and fair. The turn around time on my Lexus was amazing, the repair could have been a wide range of costs, but when it was done it was on the cheapest end of the cost continuum. I highly recommend this place,

IF YOU NEED AN ENGINE SWAP GO TO HIM! HE SWAPPED MY 06 MUSTANG ENGINE WITH A 2010 36k miles AND IT RUNS BETTER THAN EVER! very affordable and RELIABLE. Unlike 90% of mechanics here in NM! So thankful he did engine swap and thankful for his hospitality and professionalism!

This is a great locally owned shop. They put a new engine in my dodge 2500, fast, but not rushed, Steve and Eric are honest and friendly. Highly recommend
