I go in with a simple catalytic converter fix and the guy tells me I'm only running on five cylinders instead of six. This was before he even looked at it. When I called him out on it and told him that I know my car is running fine and I just need my catalytic replaced, The dude refused service to me. He started banging doors and yelling so I just left. Ken Kiefer I didn't want a diagnosis, I wanted my catalytic converter installed.

Kenneth was the most friendly, knowledgeable person I've ever met in a shop. Got my car running better than I was ever able to on my own and talked me through the entire process to help me learn what he did after he fixed it. My siblings and I were parked in the restaurant next to this place and our car wouldn t start. We asked how much they charge if they could jumpstart our car and they said it was no problem and helped us right away! We don t live here so we haven t received any other services from them but through this situation I can tell they are great and skilled people! Thank you!

Excellent shop with great people. I was dreading having to start with a new mechanic but I was happily surprised with everyone at McKinney. From my first call they made it clear they wanted to know the issue before starting work. I drive around trying to reproduce the issue for 15 minutes but no such luck, yet everyone was understanding.There was a little delay getting in (a good thing. Good Mechanics and Barbers are busy!) but the result was noticeable. They replaced both my front shocks (struts?) the boots and completed an alignment and had my car returned by the end of the day.Highly recommended and for any future needs I will be returning!

McKinney Motors does great work at a reasonable price. Matt and Eric are knowledgeable and helpful, and inspire confidence that work on your car will be done right. The owner, Ken, has a racing background, and the shop often contains high performance or specialty cars that no doubt require special expertise. I recommend them without reservation.

Took my Chevelle to Ken because he was recommended as someone that could help set the pinion angle after I replaced the transmission. After about 3 weeks, finally got the call that they needed to do a tunnel mod to accommodate the new transmission in order to correctly set the pinion angle. Initially he told me roughly 16-20 hours which I agreed to. A week later the car was still not completed and I went down to view the progress. From what I could see it was coming together nicely. The following week Ken called and said it was complete and the total was $6500 (give or take a couple hundred). Which was way over the initial quote, by more than triple. Talked to ken and he agreed to knock it down to around $5000 because he simply did not update me that the price was not going to be in line with his quote. I paid him and took the car home. Here s where it gets good. A few months later, I m in the process of an engine swap and I can now physically see the work that was done. Poor welds, poor workmanship, no seam sealer etc.. had I known that I was paying top tier price for sub par work, I would have never trusted McKinney to work on my car. Seems as though I paid more than skilled labor price for someone to learn how to do this job. McKinney will never touch another one of my vehicles and unless this is what you want your beautiful classic to look like underneath, I d advise you stay away too.Service: Auto body & trim repair

This place is amazing, awesome mechanics with decades of experience in performance and general mechanics, Ken literally had no problems saving me thousands on on a custom exaust he is fabricating himself, and recommend me to a tuner, upulstry, and paint shop. Anymore he did not feel comfortable with he sent me to a guy and was honest. I made very appreciative of the time and effort he is putting Into my rare strange build. I was recommended to him by yearwood and glad I chose them.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning

I love working with the owners at McKinney Motor Company. Ken, Darla and the staff are honest, courteous and have great respect for their customers. They have always treated me like a family member when I have visited them. Car had a bad manifold gasket. They changed it. Didn't fix my problem because my car is still leaking oil. While they were in there, they could've told me I had a bad lifter, but they didn't. The day after I got my car, the check engine light came on. Matt stuck a paper clip in my dash and said, "it's okay." Sent me on my way. $1,400 bucks later and I still have the same problems and my car is still leaking oil. Super disappointed because I heard good things. I just got the sense that they were looking to squeeze me for everything I had. Bummed.

I've been using Ken and McKinney motors for about three years now. They are simply fantastic, they tell you what needs to be fixed now, and what might need to be fixed in the future. When I went in for four new brakes, Ken said I only needed two new brakes, but to come back in a year to have the others checked. Clearly the philosophy at McKinney is to earn long term clients, and not to just make a quick buck off of a new customer. I highly recommend them.

Better than another car shop we have ever used. They get the work done right the first time. Reasonable pricing and they do great work. Have been using them for over 5 years now. 2 vehicles and the cost of taking it to them is cheaper than a car dealership.

I scheduled my appointment for a radiator flush 3 days in advance and was told to come in at scheduled date and time. Upon arrival I waited at their office for over 15 mins knocking on the desk shouting Hello! Finally I called their number and I told the individual that I was there for my appointment and he told me that they couldn t get to it till next week and it was not their problem. I left and got the job done at Brake Masters. Bad customer service at McKinny Motor!!

You have to give them a pass for being Mopar guys but all joking aside these guys are what mechanics should be. They are fair and their prices are good. I send my wife to them to get things done and they check and for what didn't need to be done they let her know. They could have easily done it like replace all the shocks on her car for what they estimated around $1,300. But it didnt need and they told her we could do it if you want but it would waste your money..that just doesn't happen anymore. So I took my Corvette over there and like for.my other car they didn't try to take advantage they fixed only what needed it and very fast and alot lower price than other mechanics around town. My nitrous is working perfectly and I now have a mech that when I'm not available my wife can take it too and I want have to worry. Thank you guys.

Background, my car had a noise that was not right. Took it to Pep Boys on Juan Tabo, they said they could not find the noise and I agreed to an oil change.Then I took it to Midas on Juan Tabo, they found that my rear brake was broken part fells out when they took the drum off. I did not ask for a brake anything, having parts on the ground had no choice but to have them do the rear brakes (very suspicious of them now). Midas also found a CV boot cracked and the axles were making noise and the front brake need to be serviced. I said no do the rear brakes only.I then took the car to a mechanic that did the brakes, two new axles with CV boot, still the noise continued. This mechanic took it upon himself to get a second option for a transmission shop Tranco Transmission on Eubank. They found one of the new CV boots was leaking, they warranted the new axles at (no charge thank you very much) but I still had the noise coming for the front of the car. The said it was a suspension problem (the noise that is) and thus I needed expert help.I was very disappointed, so "broke down to say" and went to the Ford Dealership Service Department on Lomas (what a bunch of snobs) they talked over me when I tried to tell them all that I had done, now the parts department on Lomas is the best its World Class they should give the service department some lessons in customer service.So to the internet I went, key words Suspension Shop McKinney Motor Company popped up a Google Review score 4.6 wow. So I made an appointment, they checked out the car and gave me some options that sounded great and it cost me less than $150 to fix the noise. Up until that point I have spent $1800 to try to fix the noise. All it was??? A loose bolt on the front. Now I add my Google Review to the McKinney Motor Company 5.0 stars they are the best and anyone that asks me I will send them there.William G

Really good with old cars. They've done the engine swap for my Nova and my dad's Chevelle, as well as wiring for my Aunt's Apache. They do really good work, friendly people, and are very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!

I've had these guys work on my truck a couple of times now and completely trust their service. That's not always easy to say as a woman who isn't particularly savvy about vehicle repairs. Everything repaired was explained to me and I really appreciate that. Go check them out!

Best mechanics in Abq! Found them by word of mouth thru a neighbor that was into drag racing after I was burnt by amateurs at a dealership. These guys are legit and will beat anyone in town. Honest prices, no frills, truly an old school shop.

I brought my car over because I no longer have time to work on it my self just need a radiator flush and fill they did a great job and charge a fair price I will now be bringing all my vehicles to them. They did not try and up sell my but just gavee a fair and honest evaluation of my vehicle and the condition it is in. Thank you all for being such great people.

I was there only as a ride but they have the most badass muscle cars in one spot other than a car show and cool garageIf it wasn't a muscle car the vehicle was a classicFriendly folks there and they didn't mind all my questions
