My truck had some SERIOUS alignment issues, causing my $2000 tires to go bald on my outer tread. Definitely most was my fault shouldn't never went with a spacer style level. Anyway I got my truck inspected by them and kept communication strong. Over a span of a good few months I think they were working with because basically I wanted my whole front suspension completely replaced. I was very nervous at first because not only did I look at my truck myself but also went to 3 other shops, literally all of those shops just said "it's just natural for a Ford" or "these Ford's are just really bad vehicles" Desert Rat took care of me and my truck feels brand new again and I cannot thank them enough, thanks guys! Will definitely be seeing me frequently from here on!

I rarely write reviews, but Desert Rat ABQ is deserving of my accolades. They installed a suspension lift on my T4R and did a few other tasks as well. They provided me some solid insights and consultation before the work was done. The work was timely and within the price estimate. Communication was good throughout. The end result exceeded my expectations and I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work.

Everybody at Desert Rat is knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to complete the work on my truck quickly, and the prices were very reasonable. The work done was excellent and the customer service was top notch.

Desert Rat does NOT stand behind their work.DR swapped out gears in the Toyota leaving a number of bolts less than finger tight and did not seal the differential right. Now the truck leaves a large puddle wherever it goes. To fix the issue I'm looking at nearly a full days' worth of work to redo what DR was paid to do the first time. I reached out to the manager and he stated that they will not fix the problem they caused.

Took a month to get an appointment. The day before my appointment I get a call from Robert saying their alignment machine was down and could not do the work and that I would get a call back from him to let me know when the machine is up and I could take it in. 16 days go by and no call. I call back today, no apologies no my bad I forgot to call. I get put on hold. It s too much work to get an appointment and an alignment done with desert rat. Apparently they re so busy they feel they can push away work. I got a voicemail now for December 9th. So another 2 weeks?? Unbelievable. I went to wheel align it 2 and got it done same day no questions asked with great customer service. Move on and support business that care about their customers.

We are from Oregon and had some worries about our 4runner making a noise. They helped us without question or a wait. We have a long drive home and I am so thankful for their friendliness and great service! Thank you!

Took my rig in to have it evaluated for some suspension issues. They did a full evaluation and made some recommendations and stated they needed to source a few parts and would call me with a quote once parts were sourced. Waited over a week and no call so I called them to check in an was told they were still "doing some research" and they would get back to me soon.... that was over a month ago and still no call. Very disappointing experience.

The staff was super cool,we went over the minutia of my upcoming tire upgrade, was able to compare tires side by side and found an incredible recovery jack on the shelf! Exactly what a needed..Left happy like a kid leaving a candy store.Thanks guys

They did a great job on my chevy trailboss. Turned out great, good guys know their stuff, friendly and willing to let me take some photos along the way, even let me test fit wheels b4 install. Highly recommend in Abq.

Great job, Desert Rat! After two other places couldn't fix my Jeep, including 4Wheel Parts who put the parts on in the first place, Desert Rat was able to get me in right away, and get it fixed immediately (and affordably). Great team, great customer service, and I'll be back. Thanks!

if I could rate less than one star I would!! In December of 2021 I took my F250 to Desert Rat (ABQ) for the "wobble of death" problem. I was assured multiple times by an employee that my truck could be fixed. This visit was more that $1300.00. Approximately 5 months later the problem happened again. When I called back the owner of this location informed me that the problem would be fixed. I took my truck back and the next day I was called an told everything had been taken care of - parts replaced were under warranty. Here I am 6 months later (December 2022) and the problem is still happening. Come to find out they hid the problem by letting 20psi out of my tires. The only way I found out is now that it is getting colder my low tire pressure light turned on and I checked them. As soon as I refilled all of my tires the problem happened again. Not only did DESERT RAT rip me off of the cost of the initial visit (over $1300.00) now I'm going to have to replace tires because of excessive wear from being under inflated. Wish I would've never taken my truck there!!!!!

Took Jeep in for alignment/parts check. They installed a Moog steering component kit, Jeep drives like new again!! Great place to do business, recommend highly

I went in to the shop about a month ago and the staff was very helpful. I needed some recovery stuff for my 4Runner. Even though I m a girl they didn t treat me like I was dumb and didn t know anything. I plan on going there anytime I m in town and need parts.

The staff are really fantastic they are really knowledgeable and really do great work. I went to Toyota and Toyota couldn't find out what was wrong with my vehicle so i went to desert rat off road and they found the problem within 10 minutes. Ther mechanics are really knowledgeable and fixed my Toyota 4runner in no time at all.

Excellent, knowledgable, and patient service. We recently got our first Jeep and needed some gear. It can be intimidating to be a beginner in a new sport/hobby, but Derren and the rest of the staff were super friendly in helping me get set up with some recovery gear, without overwhelming me with information or trying to sell me things I don't need. I really appreciated them taking the time to look at our vehicle and answer questions about gear selection based on our application. Will definitely be back in the future!

Really good helpful people. Had a couple question regarding an indexing kit for my dodge and one of the employees went out of there way to call the manufacture to see if they had them in stock and was quick to answer any questions I had.

Awesome!! Service! Very professional! I had my 2014 lifted with new rims and tires this past winter and the upgrades were worth it 10 times over.Paid for itself the first trail ride. I HIGHLY recommend Desert Rat Off Road Centers of Albuquerque for any of your rigs customizing endeavors.

I just got my 2017 Tacoma Trd Sport lifted from Desert Rat. They did a great job on my truck and I love it. If you are looking to get anything done on your truck this the place to go because they are honest and not too Pricey. Before I got my truck done I went to many Places and they were all really expensive. I will be seeing you guys next week and thanks again for the work you do for my truck.

Great locally owned company. Very good for all your off-road needs. I have purchased lift kits tires wheels and had everything installed by these guys they are professional and your best choice for off-road stuff.

Been a really poor experience, overall. Order some shock bushings for my truck and emailed asking if they came in a pair, for both shocks. Got a short email saying yes "just like stated on the web site, they come in a pair for both shocks". Ok, made the order. USPS lost the shipment, not these guys fault.So I made another order, this time with very expensive overnight shipping. Got my parts only to find out that it's for a single shock. Called them and stated, you told me the order was for both shocks. They acknowledge this fact and then did nothing. Asked if I wanted to reorder.Sorry, but cannot support this business anymore.You told me bad info then didn't care.

Let me start by saying best place to go if you want to do anything on your off road truck or SUV. They are the best in town in price and customer service. They are all friendly people. They work on my 2017 Toyota TRD Sport 4x4, installing 5.29 Nitro Re Gear , front and back lift springs. They did a wonderful job and driving my truck now feels so good is like night and day the way my truck ride now. I want to say thanks to Darren, Troy and the short guy sorry I can t remember your name.

This is my go to place for any of my jeep needs. The guys here are always helpful, knowledgeable, and just over all a great pleasure to do business with.
