I now live this place. After another mechanic had my vehicle for 3 months "trying" to get it going.Dans staff took ownership of the issue and repaired the problem and previous damage. I am so grateful to Garrett and staff for their integrity, skill and attitude. I highly recommend them.

The guys at Dan's took the time to help me when I made a trip into town, and our car kept dying. He kept it. Drove it. Read the codes. It was fine. So while I was unlucky one day, they helped us, and didn't even charge for the time my car was there. Best experience at an auto shop I've ever had. Will be going back.

They refused to service my vehicle after repeated inquiries, I dropped by the shop and was told that they don't deal with people like me. I have plenty of money but that was their response. Make sure to dress appropriately and not be covered in grease if you go to these guys.

Let me preface this by saying I absolutely hate mechanics and have always felt lied to or taken advantage of. From the first call to pick up of the car, the owner, and staff at Dan's has been phenomenal. I called to get general information on maintenance repairs for my BMW. The service was impeccable from the first call. I detailed what I needed completed. The gentleman said he would send me an estimate in a few hours, and he did. He even followed up to make sure I received and if I had any questions. I scheduled the following week. Dropped the vehicle off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. They uncovered additional repairs needed and coordinated the ordering of parts and follow up for the next day. They even offered me ride to work. My car was dead in the water and they swiftly arranged for overnight delivery of parts, resolved the issue promptly, and conducted a thorough inspection. Go to Dan s if you like dealing with shady work, terrible customer service, and waiting for a tow truck.My VW Jetta TDI broke down and Dan s automotive was nearby and had good reviews. The car was dropped off on a Friday afternoon and they quickly diagnosed the timing belt and cam sensor as the problem and got parts ordered. I told them to take their time to thoroughly inspect the car and let me know what they find. I got a call Monday afternoon saying the car was ready to go and that I was in luck since the Cam sensor didn t have to be changed out after all which saved me $200.I picked up the car and had to get my tire patched since it was leaking air. I don t know if the leak was caused by the tow company or Dan s. I went to Costco right down the road and noticed right away that the car wasn t running great. The Costco employees couldn t get my car to start to get it out of the bay, but I was able to rev it a bit to get it going enough to get me home.I took my wife for a test drive to explain what I had experienced so she could explain it to Dan s when she took it back in. The car died in an intersection and would not start again. I got the car home and looked to see if there was anything obvious happening. I noticed that there were some bolts missing on my fuel filter housing and the cover to the timing belt had been put back, but not clipped in.I called Dan s to tell them the car died and was told that it must be something else then and what kind of maintenance has been done to the car. They didn t offer any solutions other than bring the car back in. I got the car towed back to Dan s at my expense and told them to keep me updated on what they found.The next call I got was to tell me the car was ready, and I would have to pay another $400 since they had to replace the Cam sensor. They never called to get authorization for the work or to inform me of additional costs not covered by warranty. After some arguing about why that wasn t done during the initial visit, they removed 1 hour of labor to cover the cost of getting the car towed back to the shop bringing the cost down to about $290.I spoke with Dan who was really mad that they had to cover the cost of the tow since there was no way they could have known the Cam sensor was bad because the car was running and we could just start replacing every sensor like they do at the dealership, but we try to save you money. After some back and forth, I paid the bill so I could put this awful experience behind me.The car was running better this time but died again the next day. I will find another shop to do business with and so should you.

Took the BMW in for repairs to engine so it would pass emissions, replace the passenger side mirror and fix the passenger side window which had fallen off the track and into the door. Garrett was outstanding in communicating what needed to be done and what it would cost. He completed the repairs in a timely manner and within budget. The car passed emissions on the first test and the power window works like new. Extremely impressed with quality of work and customer service. Garrett and Keith are always so helpful and my car is in and out in one day. They take really good care of my 1998 Mercedes. They are very competent and trustworthy. I never have to worry. They are spot on with the repairs and I never feel I was overcharged. Garrett and Keith were friendly from the start and were sure to get me into the shop quickly. Within a day of my call, I was dropping my car off and was able to pick it up later that day. They were transparent throughout the process, which is all you can ask from a shop they even went out of their way to tell me when certain maintenance wasn t needed. My husband and I have been using Dan's Automotive for a few years now. The prices are fair, the repair and maintenance work have always been excellent. The staff is courteous and professional. Our older vehicles are still running even with 160K and 90K miles on them because of Dan's high level of service and automotive work. Everyone at Dan's Automotive is very professional and welcoming. Keith went out of his way to answer my questions and text pictures of the parts that needed replacing. He also kept me updated on the progress of my Porsche. I highly recommend them!

Dear Dan,You have worked on my car for 19 years, and sadly it is the end of an era. I now find myself having to find a new shop. I know how hard you worked through the years on building up a reputation and customer loyalty. My service recently was less than stellar.I did however have a new crack in my windshield that I didn t have when I brought it in.I brought it in for a tune up, and was told about a tune up, nothing much to it on a diesel, change a couple of filters and the oil. I asked about struts, and the response was two bolts slip on slip off , and when I asked about wheel alignment after installing struts, said they didn t have a machine, and I didn t need it anyway. I understand the mark up on parts, but the 6.5 hours at $132 per hour, I think is outrageous.I don t even mind paying for top service, this however, was not top service.Thanks again for the years when you ran the shop and I knew I could get good service at a reasonable price.Sandy WeidnerServices: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I was on a road trip when my cars battery stopped all function completely. I was able to get my car to the shop after a jumpstart and they repaired my car immediately, without hesitation, even while being fully booked. Cheap prices, fast work, and great customer service. Dan and his son Garrett are awesome to deal with. It is nice to trust that when you have a problem that it will get fixed and it does at this shop. They are personable and have found their prices to be fair. The time it takes them to fix the car is next to nothing! It is a good feeling to know your car will not be in the shop forever. Called around noon and expressed that I just purchased an S5 and the door actuator was out and I had to get back to California. They Stated they could get the part and I could make an appointment on Friday (called on Wednesday), but since the part was in their warehouse and available the same day I could leave the car with them and see what they could do to get it done sooner. About three hours after I dropped the car off they had completed the work and the price was just as they quoted. When they stated that they could possibly do the work When they were in between cars I was uncertain but they actually did. Amazing! We are always skeptical on finding new businesses especially when it comes to our cars but this team just won mine. Great job Dans Automotive, keep up the good work. Service A+. Work A+.

I've taken my car in several times for routine maintenance and twice for minor repairs prompted by a check engine light. Garret and Dan are friendly, service has always been same day, pricing is comparable or better than the other 2 private shops I have used in town and SOOO much better than service at the worst MB dealership in the US, the one in Albuquerque. Very happy I left my old shop and started trusting these guys with my car.

My car has been making a weird loud sound that I've been concerned with so I looked online and found this place and decided to call because of all the awesome reviews I seen and I decided to call Dan's Automotive and was able to go in the next day. I spoke to Garret and he was able to check my car and give me an estimate on my 2007 Mercedes and all I can say is I look forward to doing business with him and getting my car fixed after the holidays! He is very knowledgeable and seems very trusting!

Had a wonderful experience at this shop! Garret is professional, honest, and was wonderful to work with. They returned my BMW X3 within the timeframe and charged me the original amount I was quoted. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE EVER. Took my VW in for an engine light. Glow plugs, intake manifold and relays $2300 later car has same problem. Stranded 80 miles from home. Their "warranty" service tows vehicle to shop that doesn't work on diesel engines. Sends car to another shop a week later and they come back with a $1000 dollar bill not related to the repair that they did. They seem to read codes and just throw parts at a board to see what works. Then they refuse to stand by their work and run you around hoping that you will just give up. It is clear that these guys have no clue. Would have been better off taking the car to the dealer. Probably would have been cheaper in the long run as well. FYI the work that they did was not even the problem. The new mechanic cannot even verify the work from this shop until they fix the "ACTUAL" problem.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Best repair on Porsche anywhere. Our Boxster needed a complicated repair, and even though it took more hours than he quoted to fix it he honored the quote. it's also hard to beat their 6-month warranty on all repairs. Very very satisfied!!

Stellar Audi service, took my car to Dan's directly from the Audi Dealership Service Dept. in ABQ. I cannot say enough great things about Garret and Dan, absolutely THE BEST service I have ever received. They diagnosed my multiple Audi problems, came in at half the price of the ABQ Audi Dealership and my car was done in a day. Amazing! (This, after my Audi sat at the Audi dealership for over 3 weeks.) There is no better service than Dan's Automotive. Every business should be run like this! I am always treated with the best of everything, respect - knowledge - prices and talent. Garrett and his team are a gift to automotive repair. I have taken my BMW, Dodge Truck, and Hummer to Dan's and they always want us to be safe and they are very fair when it comes pricing. They tell me what needs to be done today, what will need to be done in the near future and when you have extra money you should think about... They have your best interest in mind always.

Dan and Garrett are experts when it comes to troubleshooting and fixing BMW's. They were able to get to the root cause of the issue and provide a solid resolution. Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. Fast service, clean shop, knowledgeable mechanics. I will definitely do business here again.

I took my Volkswagon Jetta to have some repairs done from my check engine light being on at Dans automotive, I had read good reviews and was hoping to find a mechanic that was trustworthy- Overall I had good customer service. When they investigated the problem on a catalytic converter code they told me my Coolant hoses needed to be replaced and may be the cause of the issue- which seemed odd because its usually a sensor issue but I am not a mechanic, which is why I went to them. I spent hundreds of dollars to have some hoses replaced only to find a couple days ago my coolant reservoir tank was spraying coolant and completely emptying. I thought the hoses may not have been clamped properly. When I checked the main top hose I realized that the coolant reservoir nozzle had been completely broken off in the hose and was the cause to coolant leaking everywhere. I don't recommend this place and am very disappointed with the lack of care done with my car, will not be returning to them.Service: A/C installation & repair

My VW TDI overheated on the highway and I needed it fixed asap to get back on the road. Pulled up to Dan's Auto right when they opened as I saw online they work on VW diesels. Glad I found them as they were amazing. Within an hour they had the problem diagnosed, part ordered, and car ready to roll again. The other shops and dealership wanted me to wait four days, Dan took care of it day of. If you want over the top service and great work at a fair price, this is your place. Highly recommended!
