These guys bailed me out of a bad situation. I was traveling through ABQ and my truck died on I-25 last Monday. Other shops were a month out on repairs and said to call By The Book Diesel. I got Brandon on the phone and he said to bring it over, they would get it in for me that evening or the next morning. I got lucky and AAA got to me in 20 min - I know, amazing. We dropped the truck off and they got it in the next morning, diagnosed it and got the new pump ordered. I had them do expedited shipping - which really wasn t expensive at all. The pump came in Wednesday mid morning and they had my truck back together that afternoon by 4:00. Brandon kept me in the loop on everything. Everyone I met was upright and friendly. I can t say enough good about this shop. I have been a mechanic myself for close to 35 years and was amazed at how well set up and clean their shop is.You can t go wrong with these guys!This is what a CP3 looks like after it has rattled 4 of the 6 assembly bolts out.

I'm so happy with the major work that I had done. One ton dodge dually needed some loving. By the book installed a whole new rear axles and several items in the engine compartment. My first test drive was 917 miles pulling a trailer the truck performed flawlessly.

They've worked on my 2001 F350 7.3L and my 2001 F150. They're fast, honest, priced right and they tell you everything you need to know. They've always done a great job of walking me thru my options and giving me good advice, even when it doesn't benefit them. Brandon and the team at By the Book Diesal are professional and experienced.After being turned away from Mercedes Benz of Albq. W my 2010 sprinter .(After 40 years of owning Mercedes, it was the worst experience w a Mercedes Benz dealership ever.) ..Brandon, Dallas and the rest of the the team had me going with little or no problem.If you have a sprinter, you know how hard it is to find techs other than the shlops at MBZ of ALBQ. DO NOT believe the dealership for the required service times. Experienced techs at By the Book (like Dallas) will tell you that this van needs more attention than the dealer claims.Let By the Book service/repair your sprinter, and you will have a much better experience, pay less and have better techs working on your van.Thanks again guys. My experience with By The Book was the best. Not only do they fix any immediate problem but they include preventative maintenance which prolonged the service life of my vehicle. Incredibly persistant in diagnosing and correcting my vehicle problem. Done right the first time!

I gave them a call today about an exhaust leak. Turns out my vehicle was still under warranty which they found out for me rather than the dealer. They saved me some time and help direct me in the appropriate direction. Thanks "By the Book Diesel and Auto Repair"!

For the most part got done what I requested. Truck not smoking and has more power but is still experiencing what feels like lugging? Took it to a couple other places. Found a broken stand pipe. Was throwing a high pressure oil code. Got that repaired and is now throwing a low oil pressure code.

Dealership failed to fix my Duramax Diesel properly, this caused my family and I to be stranded twice while traveling. I researched diesel repair shops in Albuquerque and was impressed by reviews for BY THE BOOK diesel and auto repair. I contacted Daniel and explained the situation, Daniel asked to keep the truck for 2 day so his team could thoroughly diagnose. Two days later I was contacted and told the truck was ready. The dealership replaced the incorrect part for the failure mode we experienced. Daniel and his team said the 9th injector was the root cause, I approved the repair and have delayed this review intentionally so I may tally some miles on the truck to verify operation.. 3,000 miles later my truck is still running like a champ.Thank you Daniel and your team of awesome diesel mechanics, you have earned a new customer not only for my diesel truck but also for my gasser daily drivers.Services: General repairs, Auto maintenance

We were in Albuquerque on Vacation, for a week. Before heading back my engine light came on. I called dealerships on Monday, they were booked for weeks. When I called By The Book Auto Repair. They were able to work me in, with their busy schedule. They got my Rig up and running. Very honest and professional to say the least. Took the time to explain how to keep my F250 Superduty up and running. I would highly recommend this Garage to anyone in Albuquerque. I would like to express my outstanding experience how Daniel and his staff have been to me over many years. Daniel has serviced my cars 3 plus times and have never had to return my vehicle due to something that was not addressed when my car was under their care. This includes an engine install, usually there are some sort of issues that arise when an engine is installed with little adjustments over weeks for it to run optimally. Not with By the Book, it was one and done! My advice to you is give Daniel a try and you will no be disappointed.

In this day and age a trustworthy mechanic is hard to find. By the Book came highly recommended. I only wish I started taking my trucks there sooner. Its not everyday you leave a shop spending over a grand feeling good about how you spent your money. I cannot begin to explain how great these guys are. I was traveling across the country back to NC and had an issue with my diesel exhaust filter on my 2015 F250 and went into limp mode. The local Ford dealerships were absolutely NO HELP whatsoever. It was late on a Friday afternoon and in desperation I called By the Book Diesel. They said just bring it in and we'll take a look. I barely made it by 5:30 and they close at 6:00. Dallas, the awesome gentleman I spoke with, said he would have waited on me if needed. I was in and out of there in half an hour good as new! Quickly diagnosed and repaired. If you need Diesel Service, CALL this shop first! Excellent folks!

Me and my daughter were in town and broke down over 4th of July weekend. Daniel at By the Book Auto Repair was the only one that answered the phone. We barely made it to his shop, which he met us there after hours to take my truck in. He was very professional and helpful. I am from Kansas and travel to Albuquerque, NM often. He called me a few times to keep me updated on any issues with the truck. I went back to pick up the truck, drove it all the way home without any issues and it has been great! Great work and very reasonable price! I have saved their phone number and address as we are there often. Highly recommended his shop.

Daniel and his crew are incredible! I have a 97 7.3 diesel that has been somewhat troublesome(parts constantly going out on it, it's an old truck ya know?). Every time something goes wrong with my truck, the whole process with By the book is painless and easy. Daniel always finds a way to get my truck in quickly(they've even squeezed me in for a same day appointment a couple of times).They'll constantly call and keep me updated through out the whole process, so I never feel like I'm in the dark. They also do incredibly fast and phenomenal work. You never feel like "just another customer" with By the Book. They treat you like family. Needless to say I won't trust anyone else to work on my truck. My only complaint is that I can't rate more than 5 stars!

These guys were able to troubleshoot and fix an electrical problem I had been living with for more than a year on my 03 Dodge Ram 2500, and very quickly. They took into account the troubleshooting work and parts replacement I had already done, were very communicative throughout the process, and charged me a very reasonable price. I plan to go to By the Book for all my future auto repair needs, and I highly recommend you do too!

I personally had a great experience at By The Book and highly recommend these guys. Daniel and his staff, were very professional and knowledgeable. I took my 2015 Cummins in and was very pleased with the work they did. Everyone knows it s hard to find good mechanics but these guys are legit, 5 stars and two thumbs up for this shop.

Excellent customer service and exceptional workmanship! I've been coming here for years and I just took my truck in for 200K service and she's running almost like brand new. I attribute a lot of that mileage to the great service I get here. I really appreciate how my service needs are broken down (need now/safety, soon, eventually) before starting any work. Honesty and integrity are commonplace here.

As anyone anywhere can agree, finding honest, competent mechanics are hard to find. Daniel and his team at By The Book are people you can trust. You may not like the diagnosis that they give your vehicle but you will get an honest appraisal of what is wrong with your vehicle and an honest plan for what it will take to correct the problem. I would definitely recommend By The Book Diesel & Auto Repair for any work from simple oil changes to full engine replacement. They got my Silverado back running like a champ! Honest and respectful staff. I used to go to the dealership for maintenance on my vehicles, but have changed to By the Book. I was tired of being told I needed to replace something (even if it was not needing to be replaced) EVERY TIME I went to the dealer. Daniel at By the Book is very knowledgeable and will get you taken care of! Thanks for being some stand up guys!!!

Daniel his brother and the entire crew are pros and quality mechanics.Got my 2500 Dodge diesel in tip top shape. I knew going in it was going to be spendy, but Daniel worked to keep below my budget.Highly recommended, and I am confident you will feel the same when the time comes.These folks ROCK!
