A+++ Experience with Exceptional Auto Mechanic Service**Recently, while traveling, I encountered a significant issue with my Mercedes Sprinter. In this time of need, I was fortunate to come across an auto mechanic company that not only exceeded my expectations but also demonstrated exemplary customer service and technical expertise.From the outset, their team was remarkably supportive, going above and beyond to assist me. They coordinated with a towing company swiftly, ensuring my vehicle was transported to their facility without any hassle. Throughout the repair process, the communication was stellar. They kept me informed at every step, ensuring I was part of the decision-making process, which I deeply appreciated.What truly set them apart was their attention to detail and their commitment to delivering quality service. They expertly handled the repair of my Mercedes Sprinter, and to my pleasant surprise, the cost was significantly lower than what I had previously paid at the Mercedes dealership for similar work. This not only highlighted their fair pricing but also their honesty and integrity in business.I am immensely grateful for their help and professionalism during a stressful time. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in everything they do. I DO NOT recommend this place. I went there to get my front CV axle boot replaced and they quoted me $1164 for a new axle. I asked what percentage of that was labor and they said it was going to be $447 dollars for the labor. That didn t make sense to me so I asked the gentleman to elaborate on how many hours they thought it would take to replace the axle, and he said it s a flat cost based on the job, not the hours required . Which made even less sense because I ve never been to a mechanic shop that charged things by the job vs. by the hour. I decided to do some fact checking and it turns out I was able to order a brand new replacement axle from O Reilly s for roughly $160 bucks. I then replaced the axle this morning by myself in less than 2hours, with the help of some quick YouTube research. Additionally, based on this research an experienced mechanic should be able to do this job in under an hour.So overall, this shop seems to be VERY overpriced based on the quote that they gave me. They also were rather disrespectful and seemed to think that I didn t know what I was talking about when I brought the car there asking them to fix the axle. I got the feeling they are a bit sleezy and tend to take advantage of customers who they think are ignorant to fixing cars. I will not be giving them any of my business. Jimmy and his crew provided great service not only for my vehicle but also for me. They had time to check in my vehicle and to have conversation with me as well. The shop has a great setup and is so clean. You can see the work they put into the whole experience for their customers down to the cleanliness and style of the bathroom. Highly recommend letting this team work with you on your vehicle needs!

Not all heroes wear capes. Road trip car trouble on the way out of town to White Sands NP. They were able to work on our car AND loan us a car so we still got to explore the National Park. If I lived here, they would be my regular mechanic.

Really fantastic on diagnostics and second to none on repairs as well. Everything really.Even customer service skills were shining when impatient girlfriends who clearly think they should be involved lol chalkenge tolerance levels.... love you honey. But you know it's true. Lol.

S.H. was extremely professional and helpful with my vehicle. They came highly recommended from a friend with a nice audi so I took a shot. My car is unique making it very hard to source parts for (I had to assist sourcing parts from the UK becuase there was only 14k of these cars ever made)and frankly a pain to work on. They got my fuel and brake system repaired quickly. I will definitely go back.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes

ALWAYS super pleased with service at S.H. Automotive. They are always prompt, super courteous and very professional. Their price is appropriate to the work done. They completed the oil change, topped off fluids & tire rotation in an exceptional time, while providing a comfortable waiting area. I've tried other services, in Alamogordo, and NONE have even come close to the professionalism & quality of S.H. Automotive. I highly recommend S.H. Automotive.Services: Tires, Oil change

I had an issue pop up with my truck. I'm not from around Alamogordo, and only in town for a couple of months. The issue turned out to be the thermostat and temp sensor which could have had severe repercussions on the engine if I continued to drive. The local dealership said they could get me in more than 2 weeks out. I called S.H. Automotive, and they told me to drop off my vehicle the next day. They had my vehicle diagnosed before the end of the day, repaired the next morning, and I had it back that afternoon. They were able to transport me to and from Holloman. Everyone I spoke with/interacted with were very professional. They make you wish every auto shop was this way.

I came here with oil leak in my car, they were able to accommodate me the soonest. They are very professional and nice. Despite the crisis of parts not being delivered or the scarcity due to the on-goong strike they were able to deliver and it was not soon as in 3-4 days but I understand the parts of my vehicle took time to get there. But I am overall satisfied with their service.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

These guys got us out of a bind when we burnt up our brakes coming out of the mountains en route from Hope NM to Southern Cali. Got our truck in immediately and had us back on the road within just a couple hours. I d never seen such a quick turn around on a brake job. Thanks to everyone at S.H. Took my 2004 BMW Z4 in for transmission service/maintenance on the SMG transmission. Great guys and really know their stuff. They did a great job looking the car over, and giving detailed info and recommendations. They listened to my concerns and responded accordingly. The quote they sent me was concise and complete. I had them do the requested work, and I'm happy with the outcome. After recently purchasing this vehicle I feel more confident in it after the service that S. H. Automotive performed. I spoke to my tech, who was very knowledgeable and experienced. All around great guys and shop!Service: Transmission

Took my son's 2012 Smart car to get serviced. I was given an estimate for service days before I went there. Services that were not needed were not pushed on me. They were quite thorough on what was done to the car, & I was given recommendations on future services. Price was reasonable and wait time was within expectations. They know what they're doing with foreign cars! It's worth the 2.5 hour drive from my town. I will continue to use them as long as my son owns that Smart Car. Service: General repairs & maintenance

Awesome staff. Arrived on a Friday morning while traveling through town and our truck sprung a coolant leak. The team was able to fit me into their schedule, get the parts, and finish the work same day to get us back on the road. Highly recommend for quality of work and customer service

This place is amazing. We were driving through and on our way home to Tucson when I ran over a piece of metal that left something dragging on the bottom of my almost new car. They took care of it immediately and were so incredibly kind and wonderful to us while we waited. On top of that they didn t charge! I will remember them forever!!

Replaced the O2 sensor and rotated my tires since they didn't do it last time. Make sure to ask them to rotate the tires if you don't do it yourself. The work they did on my 2003 Subaru Forester fixed the problem immediately and they were very professional the entire time. Definitely will recommend for anyone with a foreign model car.Update: They went above and beyond for me recently. I was getting ready to move cross-country when I started having A/C issues. I brought it in and they told me it had to be replaced. They ordered the parts over the weekend and got my car fixed first thing Monday. Despite how busy they were they squeezed me in and completed the repair quickly. The A/C blows ice cold now and I will be much more comfortable for my cross-country move.Final Update: I dropped one star because they made a mistake on my A/C repair. I had to take my car to a dealership because a control arm wasn't reinstalled correctly, causing the A/C to be set at 100% all the time. The simple fix cost me $150. This could have been avoided if the original repair was done correctly. However, they still provided great service overall.

I called in a panic. My Volkswagon battery died & no one in town could replace it! The young lady who answered told me where to get the replacement battery and fit me in the same day! Other shops in town didn t have any mechanic who could even do the replacement! The only other shop who could replace it gave me an appointment for 4 days away .I m grateful to S H for getting me back on the road so I could get to/from work

I do not recommend this shop; they had my car for 6 months, mis-diagnosed the issue as an $8,000 fix then made promises that they would make it right but never did. After being told my car was safe to drive I never even made it home before the car suffered catastrophic engine damage. Continued to hear from the owner, Jimmy, that he would rectify the situation but that has not happened. There are lots of positive reviews for this shop, but that was not my experience.

Absolutely blown away with the hospitality and customer service shown to me by Steve! Also, Andy the mechanic took great care of my Mini Cooper with diligent troubleshooting and great communication with me on the issues that were identified. Now the mini runs like new!..I will definitely bring my vehicles here from now on and absolutely recommend S.H. Automative to anyone/everyone with a European car.Thank you S.H.
