Great property. The hotel and rooms are clean. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. It was a little chilly, but we are from Texas so we figured that is why we thought it was on the cold side. Great central location and friendly staff. The only negative was that someone on the floor we were on originally was smoking. We asked if we could move to a different room and we were accommodated.

After a very long drive, we were excited to finally arrive and settle in before dinner.Unfortunately, my husband was told that the elevator was not working. This meant that we would have to carry two heavy suitcases to the second floor. My husband may seem completely normal, but due to Covid, he has a lot of lung damage and the last thing he needs is to carry two heavy suitcases up to the second floor.I asked the lady at the front desk if there was something on the bottom floor. We d even be willing to downgrade to a queen size bed, but she said there was nothing available. I asked her if we d at least get a discount for such an inconvenience, and she said that they didn t cause it so they weren t responsible. Lightning caused the elevator to stop working so there s nothing they had to do.WOW! I told her that my husband wasn t in the condition to be hauling suitcases up two flights and she just looked away. (I injured my shoulder, so I couldn t do it.)I m disappointed not only because of how she dismissed us, but also because we have noticed that Holidays Inns are not what they used to be. They ve gone downhill. We travel A LOT and only stay at Holiday Inns because of the beds and pillows, but today was the last straw.I hope management will do something about teaching the lady at the front desk some better customer service. In fear of sounding sarcastic, I recommend meeting with Tiffany from the Bistro Winery across the street. She didn t even know today is our anniversary and my birthday and she treated us like she knew. That was real customer service.

Breakfast staff was fantastic, or this would be a 1 star review. The elevator was not working our entire stay, the Wi-Fi wouldn't stay connected to my phone, and ultimately, the worst thing was that the cleaning crew deprioritized our room. For what reasons, I don't know, but it was a huge headache during the trip.We were here the week of Thanksgiving, Sat-Sat. The room was adequate when we arrived. We didn't have housekeeping visit our room until Thanksgiving.I thought maybe they saw our "do not disturb" on the door before we went to breakfast at the beginning of the trip was the problem, so on Tuesday morning, I went to the front desk and asked when the cleaning crew comes through. The front desk person said that they don't even arrive until 9:00. So Tuesday morning, we made sure to remove the tag at 9:00.No housekeeping.Wednesday, we didn't even put up the do not disturb and made sure to leave the room by 9:00 a.m.No housekeeping. If you're doing the math, this means 4 days of no clean towels and no trash pickup. I had to call the front desk for towels, and the woman that brought them to our room seemed put out. When I pointed to the pile of towels she could take, she said, " No gloves." and left. The next day was Thanksgiving. I shouldn't have made the assumption that asking the front desk, as well as specifically calling out the lack of housekeeping to our room the night before would have changed anything. I asked the front desk if there was housekeeping on Thanksgiving, and they said of course! If you've read this far, I'm sure you will be*super* surprised to know that they did not clean our room again on Thanksgiving. Luckily, my husband had to go back to the room around 2:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and he noticed the room hadn't been cleaned. He went to the front desk just as it looked like the cleaning crew was leaving the hotel. They were called back in and told to clean our room. We had new towels, and they picked up the old ones, along with the trash, but it was obvious they didn't wipe anything down or vacuum. Just the bare minimum. We come to Alamogordo fairly regularly to visit family, and we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Our stay didn t start off on a great foot when we were told the elevator was broken, not their fault but we were not offered any assistance in carrying our large suitcase up multiple flights of stairs. We were then kept up all night by the loud upstairs room and numerous doors being slammed- the walls here are THIN. Also, the lightbulbs are all cool tones, so be prepared to get little sleep and feel like you are in a Walmart when you are awake. The front desk was nice enough to provide a document or where to eat in town - a nice touch and breakfast was good.

We have stayed at 8 Holiday Inns over the last 2 weeks on a cross country road trip. This was by far the absolute best hotel we stayed at even better than the MGM Grand in Vegas.Super friendly and exceptionally clean hotel. Wish every HI was as nice as this one.Rooms: Rooms and bathroom were exceptionally clean. Not a spec of dirt or hair anywhere. Bed and linens smelled clean and fresh. Slept like a rock!

I called ahead to see if we could get into our room before 4pm. We got there right at 2pm and Holly had it ready to go! I thought she was the manager she took such good care of us! She was very nice and kind to my grand daughter sharing a love for sharks she gave her a shark tooth and couple of fossils! Our room was big and very clean, the pool area was clean, breakfast was great many varieties of breakfast items and the coffee was on point! Check out was easy no hassles! I highly recommend this hotel! We will stay there again!!! Thank you Holiday Inn express and very special thanks to Holly!!!!

I usually do not write reviews , but I thought this is required and very important.I had booked with them for 2 nights and when I was about to complete my check in process the hotel receptionist quietly informed me that the elevator is down since the last 2 days and they are not sure when this will be up. So I asked for cancellation and a full refund since I was travelling with my parents, I did not want them to use a staircase. But the hotel informs that they cannot provide 100% refund till they fail to provide elevator serviceI will suggest avoiding this property at any cost.

The room was ok but definitely not a bargain for the price. The room had a locker room musty smell. I thought the smell was the comforter cos the smell woke me up in the middle of the night. However; I realized, when I walked in the room after breakfast, that is was the room cos smell was strong.Besides the room & shower is the important breakfast! The breakfast was delicious. Such a variety of fresh hot food. The cinnamon rolls were fresh super delicious. The most impactful part of this stay was the Carmen, the cook. The woman was delightful, she checked on us to ensure breakfast was to our likening. She hummed as she cleaned. I have never experienced such a happy to be here employee it made breakfast an even better experience. Thank you, I love being around you 1st thing in the morning.

Pros: This hotel is very convenient to White Sands National Park. The staff were very kind and professional. Breakfast was good with varied choices and started at 6am. Great when you want to get on the road early.Cons: The hallway and our room had a stale/dog odor. The A/C made a loud clanking noise every time it cycled. We could hear people walking around upstairs. Light sleepers might want to use a white noise sound to help sleep.

Large room available for our family of 5. Breakfast hit the spot-pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy. The room was clean, the staff was very personable, and they let us borrow sleds for White sands national park. 15 min drive to the national park -perfect location. Pool and hot tub are a nice way to end the day. Would stay again! Our AC turned off in the night and we got warm but just had to turn it back on.

Nicest staff, great location and an excellent breakfast variety. Easy to find location off the highway and conveniently located within walking distance of several restaurants. It was really nice to leave White Sands National Park be able to change clothes and still have time to walk over for dinner somewhere before they closed. They offered free bottled water which was really helpful. Pillows were great, king sized bed and king sized pillows. 4 pillows total, one marked firm and the other soft. Loved that!We never got any free cookies, think they do them in the afternoon and maybe we were just never there for them. No tissues in the room, I found that odd. When we first arrived the pool was open and the next time we walked by it was closed and stayed closed. The rooms are not well insulated for sound. Sounded like a heard of elephants above us at all times of the night. We could hear toilets flushing around us and when someone was doing laundry we could very clearly hear their clothes going around in the dryer. The room seemed moist and all of our stuff felt moist after the second evening there. The bed is so far away from the A/C and (I guess because of energy saving??) the air stopped trying to circulate overnight it got ridiculously warm, add in the elephant noise above making it impossible to sleep through the night uninterrupted.Overall-decent stay and the breakfast alone made it worth it.Walkability: Great walkability to restaurants.

I would highly recommenced this hotel for anyone visiting the area. They were kind enough to let us borrow slides and wax for White Sands National Park which saves you so much money when if you buy a slide at the park it is $20.00. The staff really made it feel cozy and comfortable to stay there. The breakfast was amazing as well. everything was fully stocked and when the pancake batter ran out, it was only took them a few minutes to get it up and running.

Nice little hotel in a nice little town. Good stop for vacationers just passing through. Close to lots of restaurants. The breakfast was WONDERFUL, so many options. The room was clean, bed was decent, not the comfiest but slept well. The AC worked great. The wash supplies in the bathroom were better than most hotels. The gym was sufficient, pool looked clean enough. Only dilemma we had was that the hallway smelled so bad, I don t even know like what, I think it was coming from someone s room. Hopefully, they don t stay long. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone passing through. :)

Our room smelled like sweaty feet. This was disappointing considering we switched to this hotel from another brand we are typically loyal to based on the reviews. The reviews were unfortunately misleading. The hotel staff reasonably did their best to try and resolve the issue, otherwise I would have rated this hotel lower. I will not return to this hotel and this was a great reason to remain loyal to another hotel brand. Again, the staff was great but the room was terrible.

It is very close to white sands and I thoroughly enjoyed it!Only thing is that the rooms were a bit smelly and the pool is cool but no lights in there odd.In the morning for bfast I had an weird experience with the ladies. One was watching me grab my meal and was instructing me on how to do it. I m like ok please this is wierd stop. Didn t stop but just smiled at me and told me to love because I was holding the line. Other than that it was an alr experience.

It was very hard choosing the right star count. It was not a totally unpleasant experience, the customer service was great! Very friendly people. We had fun in the pool. The breakfast was good. I loved that the body wash/Shampoo/conditioner were in dispensers mounted in the shower instead of that typical hotel sized soap/shampoo. Room was clean but I definitely got a hint of some Marijuana smell. AC worked OK (I like it freezing) but it kept the room cool and comfortable. My biggest complaint is the bed... it was REAL firm... almost like I was laying on a box spring. Had to have been the most firm mattress I have ever laid on. We all joked that it felt like we were laying directly on the floor. Of all things, the mattress is what made me choose 3 stars instead of 4.I probably would stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice - strictly because of the mattress. We stayed in a double queen room.

We stayed for two nights while during our visit to White Sands National Park. The rooms were clean and quite spacious. The front desk was really helpful. The hot buffet breakfast was awesome and guess what complimentary warm cookies for the kids during afternoon hours was a plus.Nearby activities: White Sand National Park

Even though there was a storm the previous day and it knocked out the elevator which we were cool with but we called and let them know, BECAUSE of the same storm, flights were canceled and we were unable to make it in on the first day but did the next, but they insisted that we still have to pay for the first day. That's not how you get reoccurring customersRooms: Nice cleanNearby activities: On the strip so close to everything
