Great local Midas shop where you are able to get new tires at usually a great price. The staff is super helpful and the place is clean and pleasant to wait at while your car is being serviced. The do great work and despite a little upselling it was a pleasure getting my work done there. I will definitely go back.

Since I work in the area, I pass this establishment daily. I was having an issue with my brakes and couldn't put it off any longer. With COVID, the way companies work has changed so I took a chance and called. I spoke to Sam and he was very nice. I was concerned with it being Easter weekend that I would not be able to get my brakes done the same day but I brought my car in at 12:30 on Saturday and by 3pm my car was finished! Wonderful experience, great professionalism and good work. He delivered what he promised and gave me a good price. I feel very confident in his and his teams work and would not hesitate to bring my car to him again in the future. Thank you !!!!Service: Brakes

I had the worst experience at the Midas . The owner Sam has no idea about how to simply communicate with the customer's . I had my car in for a simple oil change and try to give me a bill for 900.00 dollars for tires and brakes. my car only has 9000 miles . They also refused to rotated my tires when i refuse to take there Manger special.I highly recommend you don't trust them to fix your car.

Quick and friendly service. Guy who runs the place is nice. Waiting area is spotless, nicer than most doctor s offices. Best part is that if there s no wait, they actually take your car back immediately rather than messing around. Truly a quick oil change for a good price and it s a place I m happy to support. They also don t bug you with extras you don t need.

These guys are always good to me. They are straight forward and honest in all of my dealings with them over the last 10 years. They are always my first choice when something goes wring with my car, especially my tires which seem to find every nail or screw left on the road in winter.

Everyone here is great. I had a flat tire and needed to get a new one. I called and they had a new tire sent over for me and by time I got there they took my car right in and put on the new tire. They are all very professional and so great to work with. I come here all the time and would highly recommend them to anyone. A great place!! Thanks for all your help!

my wife's car needed a wheel alignment because the steering wheel was pulling to the left a little bit, so she brings it in and they do the wheel alignment but the car is experience the same issue, so when i take a look at it i found out there was a nail in one of the tires, i went back to this place to find out why they did the wheel alignment if there tires was bad in the first place. instead of helping me out they tried to sell me 2 new tires for 250+ dollars and another wheel alignment that was 100 dollars which was ridicules. i then asked for a refund which they denied. they had the worse service and definitely disrespects the Midas brand. i will never go to that location or any Midas brand location for car issues again and i advise anyone reading this not to. i believe they took advantage of my wife for being a woman, and not being fully educated on automotive maintenance.

Midas was great and the service was even better. After meeting the manager and discussing pricing we were able to come to terms and ultimately the service ended up being better than anticipated. They were able to win my business and I will make sure they have my business in the future. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the customers.

Extremely unpleasant experience. SAM IS THE WORST!!!! Unprofessional, attitude, employee walking around with no mask on in front of customers, bad prices. They refused to di a price match even though it's a guarantee. 200$ price difference for the same tire. I will avoid these people for the rest of my existence on earth. Worst buying experience ever. Charged me for a service but couldnt hold up thier end of the deal. Now I have to contact corporate just to get something done about this.Service: Tires

Friendly, courteous and helpful! They showed me exactly what the problems were and explained them well. Their prices were 1/4 of what the dealer wanted to charge me! I would definitely go back!

If I could I would leave ZERO stars. The owner operator is unprofessional and a crook.Long made short...I had my BMW 328XI front brakes done here at this Midas. The quote was $100 less than the BMW dealer for after market parts and $100's of dollars over the Original BMW parts. I should have taken notice of this RED FLAG. Dealers typically charge more because of higher Hourly Labor rates. So Midas, Sam the owner, quoted me $100's higher than BMW on original parts, but since I was saving $100 or so for after market parts and he assured me they will perform the same I opted for that fix.Within 8 months my steering wheel and entire car is shaking when I brake. So I bring the car back to Sam. I had 2 seperate mechanics look at my entire braking system and the car before returning to Midas. One was a private mechanic and the other was the BMW dealer. Both concluded that it was the front brakes and primarily the front rotors are warped. I looked into the brand of rotors Midas, Sam,used and he charged me 2x more than the original part cost right off the bat as I looked at my receipt of the work done back at the end of January. RED FLAG...and basically theft. That's besides the point. This shows his integrity I believe the fact he will more than double the price of the parts he using to make a profit off a customer instead of charging only for labor on top of the parts cost.He inspects my car brakes. He tells me there is nothing wrong with the rotors, but since BMW say there is a sever problem with them he will redo the work/service he performed. He gives me the offer of either having the same equipment and parts he used the first time (which warped and failed) for the same price I paid the first time minus the cost of the brakes pads OR I can get original BMW parts and equipment for nearly double the cost.So MIDAS, aka Sam the owner, wants me to pay for a service job 2x!?A service job that failed within 8 months after. This is the braking system. This is dangerous to mess up. I have contacted MIDAS customer service with the complaint. I will be filing a lawsuit against this MIDAS location pending the customer service call back I am expecting. What kind of CROOK would charge a customer 2 times for the same exact job that THEY MESSED up and failed?!Customers BEWARE of this MIDAS location. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

My son's car broke down and they took us in as they were closing. They kept us informed on what needed to be done to the car and finished the job WAY before I thought they would. Even though it was expensive they gave us a great deal because they could tell how stressful the whole situation was. great guys. trustworthy. great communication.

Great service, friendly staff. Been taking my cars here for years & always satisfied. For a few years I had a Saab with a faulty headlight. Took it to several places & no one could seem to fix it, finally took it to Midas in Totowa & they figured out & fixed the problem.

If you have to go here, deal with Tim. Stay away from Sam. The guy does not communicate well, and he tried to sell me new tires with one that was plugged. He also did not fix the original issues that were my chief complaints. I implore you to go anywhere but here. Hopefully, Tim opens up his own place and you can go there. Much nicer and more honest.

I went to Midas for brakes. They recommended to replace the whole front and back brake pads and rotors using Wagner brand. The brake in my car was already 5 years with 41000 miles. I figured it is time to replace it. It costed me $800 in total. The thing is both brake and rotor turn very rusty and now with driving less than 16000 miles and less than 6 months old. said I will need to replace everything again. They even told me lifetime warranty, but said if it defective. So this brake and rotors are last less than years and not warranty saying that it is not defective. I will not go back to Midas ever again.

I make an appointment over the phone to get new tires but mainly to have the tpms sensors put on the new rims. Then the next day I get there they don't have me scheduled. Then they say they can put new tires on new aftermarket rims I bought and switch the tpms sensors from my stock rims to the new rims. Said they would be done in an hour. So I hand my keys over. hour and15 mins go by and my car has not moved. So i check they said next in line. Ok I waited about another 45 mins and they call my phone and say oh we can mount the tires because they are scared of scratching the rim(isn't this a tire shop??). Ok that can happen pretty much happen anywhere, but let's say I do trust them... I asked if they are they going to transfer the sensors. They said no that would take to long and we don't have time for that. I said why didn't you tell me that 2 hours ago and they said oh we didn't know that till we started. The whole point of going there was to get the sensors transferred and I pointed that out from the start that was the most important and they know they need those sensors or my flat tire light will just stay on. These people are a joke. Never going to midas because they have people who don't know what they are doing and saying. Go to Firestone you'll get a better deal and more knowledgeable employees and is a real tire shop. 5 mins away from this store.

I have been to Midas in Toyota few times for oil changes and an issue with the oilpan on my '04 CRV. Sam and his staff were very detailed, thorough and got my car back on the road very quickly each time I have been there.Sam and staff are focused on the customer and that each job is done the right way. I would recommend highly!

For 3 yrs I was paying for synthetic oil when my car took regular oil. Was severely over charged. Had new tires put on and 1 tire kept leaking air, was told by Midas that it was a faulty sensor. Went to dealer and found my car did not require synthetic oil and valve was damaged by Midas, who put the new tires on. Please DO NOT have your car serviced at this shop. They are not trustworthy.

I called one time to ask how much back brakes and rotors where for my jeep and the guy told me with parts and labor it would be 300-325. He told me come in first thing in the morning. So i get up at 8am go there and the guy says to me the price is now 380 and he doesnt know why someone would tell me the price was 300-325 over the phone. So i tell the guy all i have is 360 and he says no cant do im already cutting you a deal with the 380?!?! Was told a false price, got up at 8am and basically went there for no reason and instead of apologizing or trying to figure out who gave me that price over the phone the owner just completely wastes my time and says sorry nothing i can do. Im not a complainer one bit and honestly never write reviews but screw this place. they act buddy buddy with everyone just so they can scam you

Midas in Totowa NJSam the scam...Dec. 16th 2017Took my car in for oil change. While there I wanted him to see what was causing car to hesitate an it periodically not starting. I would turn the key and it just clicked. I knew it wasnt my battery because I had it checked prior to bringing it to Midas. I told Sam this. He tells me to give him an hour after which he tells me he is more concerned about bigger problem. He takes me under my car to show me rust peeling on my oil pan and says its so bad he doesnt even want to touch it for fear it would do more damage. He turns to his mechanic and says what about the flex pipe (which I saw no rust on) and he says he needs to remove it to replace oil pan. Sam then tells me I needed a new battery for the problem of the car not starting and a tune up for the hesitation. Sam then gives me a ballpark estimate of $1500.00!! I told him I couldnt afford all this right now so he says I should get oil pan fixed and wait for tune up. Still it would cost me $1100.00! After him scaring me by asking me what is my car worth to me because if I didnt fix oil pan my car would be worth nothing! So I told him to fix it. He tells me he would take apart and clean fuel injectors for free claiming it was a 150.00 dollar job and it might help reason for hesitation until I could afford tune up. He then insists a new battery would take care of the reason car didnt start. He tells me car would be ready in 6 hours. When I returned to pick up car I brought a friend who works on cars and my car was still on lift so we went in to look at it. My oil pan was sitting there while mechanic was finishing up. My friend picked up oil pan and checked it out .He knocked on it and it was solid. No danger of it falling apart like Sam said and the only rust was the paint peeling off! Not to mention they had also replaced the flex pipe which also had no rust on it!! When we questioned all this Sam got defensive and said to me, "dont you remember I showed you pin hole leaks"? No he never showed me any leaks! Just the rusted paint! I asked him if car doesnt start again being he claimed the battery would fix the problem, what is he gonna do? He replies, "I told you you need a tune up". I said no, you told me tune up was for hesitation problem. Sure enough a week goes by and the car wouldnt start. I called them up and told him I wanted my money back. He yells to mechanic to find my battery and I hear him say in the background that he put it in the back of my Sportage. Sam then accuses my friend of stealing my old battery! When I got my car started I brought it in so he could swap batteries and refund my money for it. I also asked him what he did to clean fuel injectors. Well he must have forgotten what he intially told me he did because now he says he only poured something in my gas tank! I am pretty sure thats not a 150.00 job. As far as my itemized bill, no where on it did it say I purchased a battery. What they did which I had to figure out on my own by googling cost of flex pipe was he added cost of battery to the cost of flex pipe. I will never go there again! After taking it to another mechanic, the only thing that was wrong with the car not starting was a wire that needed cleaning. The stuff added to my tank cured the hesitation and my old battery is still running strong. So Midas screwed me out of $1000.00 a week before Christmas for a oil pan and flex pipe. Both not needed. Shame on me for not realizing they took advantage of a woman. Stay away from Midas in Totowa.

NEVER going here again. I went there to get my brakes checked since I had them done there. Brake was making noise, so, needed to get the brake pads checked. I was told that brake pads are "full" and need "other" part changed. I was even given $500+ estimate. This didn't seem right in my mind and I went to my regular mechanic and guess what, brake pads were gone and needed rotors and brake pads changed. "Other" part that was needed to be changed was good and my final total for the brake job was really less than what Midas had quoted.

I would avoid this place like the plague. I had a coupon for and oil change, synthetic, and a tire rotation. The coupon was for $49.99. They told me it would be $79.00 becuse it takes an extra qt. of oil, and I needed a $10.00 filter. While I was there I called Midas in Hawthorne, asked for the price of the same, with coupon. They new immediately it was .2 qts of extra oil, $1.67 upcharge, no special oil filter, in and out for $59.47.When I asked the counter guy at Totowa location, they said to take it there, so I said ok, but first they had already rotated the tires, so they would put them back in the original positions. Then they said they could lower the price to$67.00. Ultimately I just let them do it because the Hawthorne location could'nt do it for 4 hours, until noon.Never again. I got more stories about this b.s filter, extra oil, etc.I don't recommend this place at all.Totally unprofessional!Lou Tonachio

Took my car in for new tires and the owner sam charged 800$ for bridge stone tires with alignment and balance. Was given back a car with no alignment no balance and on top of that they striped 3 of my lug bolts. Did nothing to fix the problem and lied about it even trying to imply that i caused the toe wear and missing lugs. Definitely the definition of a genuine scumbagSave yourself the headache dont even drive near this facility let alone go in .. you might find yourself with unexpected flats!!

Terrible service and a terrible experience. Took my car there for an oil change and to have my "Check Engine" light looked at. I had the computer code checked at AutoZone and they told me it was something to do with the coolant system. It was my mistake in not getting the code directly from them. Midas charged me $105 just to do the same thing that AutoZone does for free. Absolutely ridiculous. So I had them check it out since I was driving back to Michigan (650 miles) in 3 days for Thanksgiving. After about 4 hours (I didn't wait there), they called me back and told me it was something to do with the thermostat, which I told them to replace. They also talked me in to changing the hoses around the coolant area since they were worn. When I came back to pick it up, the total was $385.I drove the car back to Michigan, but when I got there, I noticed I was leaking coolant. I took it to a mechanic in Michigan and it turns out one of the new hoses that were installed wasn't clamped tight enough, so my coolant was almost bone-dry. I could've had a major issue had my coolant run out while driving that trip.So I get that all taken care of and drive back out to NJ. Not 2 days after I get back, the "Check Engine" light comes on again. I take it back to AutoZone to have it checked and they tell me it's the same code as before. I write it down and take the car back to Midas and tell them they need to fix it. They take the car in and call me 3 hours later and tell me it is ready to be picked up. I get up there and they feel the need to explain to me what was going on with that code; which is nice, but I really don't understand car jargon all that well. In the end, they tell me that the sensor in the coolant area is faulty and that they replaced it. I didn't tell them to do this. The manager wanted to charge me another $115 to keep the new sensor on. Since I knew that there wasn't a critical problem having this faulty sensor, I told them to put the original back on. Unfortunately for me, they had the car running for a good half hour before I got there, so it had to cool down. I waited 45 minutes for them to change the sensor back out b/c they installed it without asking. Absolutely ridiculous. Now, I know that the auto maintenance business is one where, if you develop a good relationship with a customer, they are likely to come back to you for all of their service needs. This guy that runs this shop is obviously just in it for the money and to make friends. I will never be returning here and I suggest you don't even bother considering it. Terrible service and inept mechanics. STAY AWAY!

I had called them before bringing the car in. Asked to quote me for changing all the break pads and rotors. They quoted me $360.I bring the car in , they call me with a $760 quote. I told them I'll take it somewhere else, so put it back. They force tied the log nuts so bad, that the other mechanics had to flex of the nuts. So I paid $28 for this( check/inspection fee) and had to pay another $25 for the lug nuts. And time wasted. Just a note, one can purchase a full set of pads and rotors for $110-$150 online. Takes about 1 hr of service to replace. I'm not willing to pay $600 for 1 hr of labor. Thanks Daye and Sam for the lesson well learned! :))) LOL Godspeed.
