2017 Toyota Camry SE Trans rebuild.I am late posting this review as I was going to wait a while and see how the repair held up. Well, life got in the way so here it is. The repair held up beautifully!I had a transmission rebuild done at Coast after going to two other transmission repair shops first for pricing and to get a feel for the shop. After talking to Al, I decided to go with his shop. The price was right in the middle of the other two shops and Al was very straight-forward and told me it was going to take a bit to get done and because of the shipping problems we had last year, he was right. It took three weeks to finish the car but well worth the time waiting for what was needed. It's still running great and I'm thankful I went in to see him. Sorry I took so long to get this review done. Thanks again to Al and his team!

This review is a long time coming. Al and his team are excellent. Coast Transmission has been servicing my classic car for a few years now and it has never run better. Their knowledge and attention to detail is unmatched on cars/trucks. When I have been at Coast, the positive relationships Al and team have with their customers is extremely evident. I would highly recommend Coast Transmission to anyone looking for a reliable and honest company to work with.

Had to have work done on our 66 Chevelle and our 70 Duster 340. Al and his right hand man Dave gave more than we could have hoped for. They not only take care of your car like it was one of their own...but they care for their customers the same way. You just can't ask for better service than that!! Thanks guys....we appreciate you!!!

Had to take in a large box ambulance for a transmission rebuild, as well as a few other issues. Al was both professional and informative. He kept up great communication throughout the process. He even threw In some extra work to fine tune things that he didn't bill for. Top notch service, Highly recommend .

Had to get exterior molding replaced and some scratches and a dent fixed, Ale and Dave took care of me and have my car looking brand new! Best experience I ve ever had, this is the spot to go no question, can t recommend them enough! Thank you guys!!

They did all 4 of my tires, it was done very efficiently. I also got a great price for tires which was my main concern since i needed 4 of them done at once. I have a long commute and all of this rain really made it obvious how bad i needed them changed. Even was able to salvage my newest of the 4 tires and make it my new spare which was super awesome of them. Both Dave and Aldo worked on my car, they did my breaks, my oil change, and checked out how my transmission is doing. They are fantastic at what they do!! Im not a car person, by any means. But they are very patient and they help explain things better for me that i need to know about my car. They are also super eager to answer any questions and concerns i have! I have been recommending them to everyone i know.The guys are also all very kind and funny, which i appreciate a lot because car problems scare me! Absolutely fantastic people there, they get the job done, they are very honest and transparent, and they are super knowledgeable. Its great to know ive finally found a reliable auto shop to help me! I don't know how to thank you COAST TRANSMISSION AND PERFORMANCE... i took my obs truck to 3 different workshops in lakewood and no one could fix it. thanks to coast transmission for their great work. My truck runs like new. I couldn't stop smiling when they took me on the test drive to make sure I was happy with their job. definitely recommended. A+ to this guys.MUCHAS GRACIAS AMIGO.

I would like to thank Al and his team for helping me out with my 1972 Oldsmobile cutlass, fixing my broken transmission and also hooking me up with a new exhaust system to helping tune my car and get it running perfectly. Stopped by this shop with my son to look at the classic cars on the lot. The owner AL came out to talk to us . THIS man is very knowledgeable with anything involving cars. After spending time with us I've decided to let him finish all the work on my LS engine and trans swap in my 68 chevelle. Sometimes you just know when your at the right place and this shop is definitely it. Thank you AL for spending time talking to us. Jorge

They helped me out a lot, other shops didn't even want to try and fix my problem with my car, but Coast got me in fast and was able to help me. Highly recommend, quality car care by honest people, i wouldnt think of taking my cars anywhere else. Having faith in your mechanic is not so easy to find, they have mine without question.

Coast Transmission and Performance was there when I needed them most! I was in an accident with my classic Corvette. My insurance company sent their person out for a repair estimate. Their estimate was really low and not at all accurate. Al, the owner of Coast was my best advocate. He knows his stuff! He put together a detailed estimate which I sent to my insurance company. Long story short, my car ended up being totaled.If it wasn't for Al and Coast Transmission, my insurance company would have screwed me and my car's value would have dropped considerably. Funny thing is that I was going to Coast Transmission and Performance for an oil change and tune up when I got into my accident. They do top notch work on all sorts of vintage cars.

I brought in a 51 Ford F1 because the master cylinder gave out. Al called me every step of the way letting me know what he was doing , how much the parts were and when he thought he'd be ready. As promised, the truck was ready when he said it would be. No last minute surprises with the price. An all around good experience. Absolutely recommend them for any repairs needed.Service: Brakes

***Please read .Fake 5 star Reviews. Paid Al owner $19,000 to keep my dad's 1967 pontiac gto all original to be repaired and kept original. Instead Al and coast transmission and performance installed a rusted numbers matching 1977 pontiac engine that overheats. Its not even a gto engine and they painted all over rust. Reputable businesses have looked over my dad's gto and said we been scammed and ripped off. Using credit cards Al will make excuses not to fix the gto and will say the vehicle is at his house so you cannot inspect the progress. After 3 months credit card companies will not refund the money so al will make excuses for 3 months.Calling coast transmission and performance they will say to me under new management Al is no longer with the company. Then Al will pick up phone a month later. They are just a rip off scam company. They even stole 1972 tires and put on a set of really old dangerous tires that popped when I received my dad's car. Both me and my dad are completely devastated. Pay us back our money Al. Its not Numbers matching gto but has a rusted engine 1977 that overheats and doesn't drive well and leaking fluids. $19k for this job what a scammer.I am a first Responder EMT. I'm also a federal law enforcement officer. I also served my country for over 15 years in the military. My dad's gto was stored at a military base in nj and Al and his associates came to pick it up on base.. promised to fixed it show room quality and keep all original and in time for my wedding in 5 months. His promises were all lies.. please trust my review. He ripped off a good intention familyAnother review says he bullies people to write reviews

Coast diagnosed my transmission problem more accurately than the Toyota dealer did. They fixed it for the same cost, just as promised, and they scheduled me for an appointment next week to double-check that everything is okay. Good guys!Service: Transmission repairService: Transmission repair

Big scam stay away. Had my car for over six months was supposed to rebuild my transmission and he never dead found out later on supposed to fix the rust on the bottom of my car. My 2013 smart car needed work on it's transmission. Al and coast transmission were the only place in the area that would work on it. Al talked us through all the required work. They also fabricated rear bumper to hold every thing in place. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. Brought my original 71 SS Chevelle for them to change from fuel injection to carburetor. They did a phenomenal job and took great care of my car.
