I was worried i would have to replace my car when the dealership told me I needed to replace my transmission. Matt reassured me that his team would be able to fix my trans. He walked me through the different issues I had and how to resolve those issues. He was also quick to respond to any questions I had and kept me in the loop. I was referred here by a coworker after my car started making weird noises. I had been to 2 other places previously and both told me my transmission was bad. I was desperate for one more opinion and my coworker referred me to Matt. Matt was amazing! He diagnosed the issue free of charge and found it to be only an electrical issue in the transmission. Needless to say I was thrilled with this news as well as the price I was quoted to do the repair. My car is running great no more crazy noises!! Fives stars. Don t believe any negative reviews.Let me break it down the best way I can. My transmission on an Altima went bad and the car was slipping and could not go over 20 mph. Other shops said get a new transmission or a new car. I got the codes from AutoZone just to be sure. I called the owner for a quote.After limping into his shop with the car he helped me get home from the shop and told me the correct issues. He found the cheapest way to repair the transmission and gave me a warranty. Did the repair on a quick timeline so I could get to and from work without blowing money on Ubers. 8000 miles later the car is still driving with no issues. The owner is trustworthy and a big help. The best of the best transmission shops in Jersey! Matt and his mechanics made sure to replace my transmission perfectly. He also went above and beyond to take care of other issues with my car like pc valve, engine mount, coil pack/spark plugs, power steering rack & pinion. I was very happy to hear that he took that initiative to handle these things. I found out I had a weak battery and Matt gave me a brand new battery as a courtesy which made me even more happy! I am beyond pleased with Matt and his mechanics service. They make you feel like family and are always very understanding. He s a very honest mechanic which is very hard to come by. If you re reluctant to bring your car here, don t be, Matt will take care of all your car issues for a very reasonable price! My Nissan Sentra, is a great car, and after it broke down again, I was referred to this company. They got my car up and running within a couple days and I haven't had a problem since. Matt is a man of his word!!I highly recommend!

I dropped off my 08 Ford Explorer for transmission issues. Matt calls you explains in detail and gives you options on what he can do based on what my truck needed with an estimated date.Truck came out fixed as promised ahead of schedule mind you the place is extremely busy. This place is we re you wanna bring your vehicle. I can only say Thank you to Matt and his crew. Amazing Job. If you are ever in need of transmission work in the NJ/NY area (hope you don t) I recommend this repair shop, and the owner Matthew.Bought a 2016 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback fully loaded for my teen daughter. The car is well taken care of. Had no idea Ford had a recall on the transmission.The transmission started having issues. Went to a couple of Ford dealerships in Bergen County. Worst decision ever, the dealer wanted me to wait 3 weeks to repair the car, and was going to charge me the maximum price.Searched online, and saw the 5 star reviews of Transmission and Car Care Center in Roselle, NJ.The owner Matthew is a God send. He made me feel comfortable, safe, and secure, knowing that he, and his company would take very good care of our car, and not overcharge me. Being a woman getting a car repaired can sometimes go left. Not with Matthew he makes each, and ever customer feel valued, safe, and most of all to trust his level of expertise.This repair facility has been around 30 years, and there main focus is transmission repair. They have the computers to program newer cars, and service all makes, and models.Our car was drivable, but he advised me not to drive the car from Hackensack Ford Dealer to Roselle, he would tow the car at no charge. Had AAA tow the car, Matthew s team got to working on the car right away.Every step of the way, Matthew checked in with me daily, very honest. He told me the fees as he progressed, always keeping me in the loop.*Matthew followed up with me daily, they had our car ready on the day, he said it would be ready.*Very happy with the price, no junk yard parts, all new parts with a warranty at a fraction of the price Ford charges.If you are ever in need of Transmission repair, this is the only place, I would recommend to friends, and family. Matthew has years of experience. He has my car in his shop after my car was hit and I had it towed to him. Since I will be driving cross country he is assuring me the car will be safe with a rebuilt transmission, tune up, spark plugs, and more. Never in an accident Matt helped me a great deal speaking with my insurance inspectors. I was shaken up with the accident and didn't realize how much was damaged in the hit beyond the cracked tire and molding, and light panel, and more. Being in an accident is more than emotional it can be physical harm. My headache, to my back pain, while trying to get all work looked at could have been alleviated with less fear. When I had my car towed the 70 miles to Matthew's and returned the rental I was lifted a burden.

Loved it so far. Found out about them online, and had my Mercedes towed to the shop. No regrets for the move. Mathew (owner/manager) is professional and reassuring. Making them my mechanic will be worth the approximate one way 30mins drive ; I wish I knew about them a year or two earlier.

I just spoke to you and seems you guys seem real professional. I already spent some money on transmission once. I contacted a few and seems they want to rip me off. I will drop off or tow my 2011 Town & County van today or tomorrow. Thank you for honest guidance.Matthew fixed my transmission to a highest level with reasonable price. What can I say about Transmission and Car Care? Well let s just say GOOD FAST and CHEAP! Had My Son Transmission Rebuilt In A 2007 Chevy Tahoe And I Can Not Be More Satisfied! I Did have a issue with engine light and low oil light coming on right after taking truck BUT Matt the owner said just bring it back down and it was nothing more than a broken wire! The owner Matt is a Honest and Cool guy so if you guys have any mechanical issues call Matt and take your vehicles to him, oh and I can not forget the Mechanics, AWESOME...... Thanks Matt And Crew

This review is long overdue. In late June while driving at night on the GSP my car hit an object and within a mile had complete engine failure. I live in North Jersey, so I randomly called for a tow truck and a guy named Matt answered my call and had one of his tow trucks pick me and my car up and dropped off at the shop. I knew things were not good with the car, but knew I would find out the next day. Matt asked me how I was getting home and I said Uber. Without a second thought Matt had one of his drivers get me home. I was shocked and felt good leaving my car there to get looked at. Matt is one of the most honest individuals i have met. Not only does he deliver quality service but he is also trustworthy. In other places, they would figure out how to rip you off and make money out of your car repair, what's crazy with Matt is the opposite.The next day Matt called and broke the news to me. Oil Pan hit something and cracked leading to engine seizure and destroyed. At first I didn't even know what to say... how could pay for a replacement engine? Matt, informed me that I should call insurance company because it would fall under collision. He was right. Within a day Matt was dealing with my adjuster and the process was started.Matt figured out how much the engine replacement cost would be and what insurance would cover. What I loved was Matt gave me options on getting a lower mileage engine if I paid more than insurance would pay. I ended up paying extra above what insurance would pay, but Matt was able to find my engine with 18000 miles instead of one with 51000 miles that insurance paid for.I don't know if he is religious or not but his attitude towards work and towards other people is exemplary. He got a lot of clients and return customers and i think that's his good karma. :)Anyway, I got my car back with my new replaced used engine and it runs awesome!!!!! Found Matt s shop on google and decided to try them out cause of all the good reviews and I gotta say they really live up to the hype. I own a 97 Prelude and needed extensive repairs considering the car is 20 years old and seemed like it had no maintenance done to it. With head gaskets needing replacements and the timing belt needing to be changed and adjusted again the job was tedious to say the least but Matt and his team were incredibly patient and more than willing to take their time to explain to me in layman terms everything that needed to be done to my car to get her up to speed. After the job was done I took her for a drive and she s never ran better I honestly didn t even recognize my car. Matt and his shop have made a customer for life I m incredibly happy with my experience and would recommend him to anyone!~Carlos J ~ Linden NJ

Pros: Matt is a nice guy, his shop does have fair prices and he offers $20 off to if you write a positive review.Cons: you will wait days to get your car done, his staffs have a poor attitudes, he offers warranties on some service, not all, he is about 400lb so you will be fear if he eats you ( it s a joke) and last which cause my review to be one star is that he lies, if Matt tells you your car will be done on Tuesday, just be ready to wait till Friday.

I am upset that I can't leave 10 stars! From calling Matthew last month to picking my car up, the service has been what other shops need to learn from. I've had others tell me the car was not worth the repair or only offered a used transmission with little or no warranty.This car will certainly last me another several years and Matthew gained a new customer for life. Recommendations will come his way.Janiliz was also courteous and made sure I was informed of the process of payment and what to expect. Car failures are frustrating but it takes a courteous shop to ease that.10 stars all the way. I may even buy my next car from them!Matt and the team - thank you for treating me like a person and less like a mere dollar sign. Highly recommended.-AKSayreville NJ

These guys are excellent. No other words to describe it. Matthew was thorough the through the whole process. Kept in touch and updated every time something popped up. My car was at three different shops before coming here and none could figure out what was the problem with Transmission other than saying "replace this, it might help". Took my car to this shop, hour later Matthew called up and said " this is whats wrong exactly, this has to be done to know how extensive the damage is, it will cost X$ and X$ for parts". ENGINE and Transmission had to be removed from the car, though engine was removed to do preventative maintenance (B6 S4...). Expected to wait for a week or two for that to get done. I get a call three days later that it's done and ready to be picked up and asked me to drive for a day to see if there is any unusual noises or leaks after the job was done. Minor leak was fixed immediately. For information: i wasted half already in other shops to replace parts that had no affect, what actually cost me here to pull engine and trans and get everything fixed. I'm beyond being thankful. All techs are extremely friendly and there is no shady "don't go in the back, we do not allow this". They showed me what was wrong, showed me how it looked like when engine was out of the car. I rarely write reviews, but Matthew and his guys deserve it. It's really obvious that they don't do that just for the money. You can see that everyone in that shop likes and enjoys what they are doing. i will NEVER EVER use other repair shops. Oh and they do stand by their work. If they make a mistake, they take care of that (none in my case). My car is extremely hard to work on, and expensive (small car, massive engine), and Matthew still stands by his work.It's hard to believe that they have such a small shop. It should be booked years ahead, seeing the level of service and knowledge they have. i wish i could've left 10 stars for them. Thank You!!!

My car transmission started slipping. I stopped by a few places saying I need a transmission replacement. I was wondering if it was even worth it. I gave Matt a called and explained my situation. Immediately he knew what was wrong. The solenoid was burned and some of the internal pieces needed replacement (significantly cheaper). He explained a step by step pathway that was affordable to get my car running and ready for inspection. He totally understands the customer and is extremely trustworthy. Thanks a lot and would highly recommend his shop!

I really have to say Matt's Transmission and car care service Mechanic did a Outstanding Job rebuilding my Transmission. Matt's transmission tech is sharp and he knew exactly how to correctly diagnose my transmission issues. He even took all my old parts out my Transmission and completely rebuilt my trans with new parts. Thanks to Matt Transmission and car care My Truck runs like new. And he stands by his work . I am pleased. I recommend you having your car serviced at Matts Transmission and car care...

If I could give zero stars I would. My car was picked up on February 26 and today is March 17th, three weeks for a job that should have taking a day. After valve job was done they sat my car in back never returning calls finally I got feed up and went a picked up my car. I would have no problem doing whole trans rebuild but at the rate they perform work Xmas would have come sooner than I would have received my car back. I will never recommend this shop to anyone. Matthew talks a good game but they sure don't have good customer service skills. I can't believe the response I just read total bs, it was not until after I posted this review did you call and ask me to take it down and we could work together to resolve this issue. So yes I didn't respond to your call after the fact no need the damage has been done.My car is in good hands now and is currently being fixed. Only stress I incurred was from your customer service and treatment of me as a customer.

Had an issue with my Jetta hybrid transmission and VW said it will cost me $10000. Luckily for me, I found Matthew online and he offered to tow my car to his shop and check it for free! After which he fixed it and saved me a whole lot of money. Treated me like his friend the whole time and kept me updated. The car runs perfectly now. He's the best!

I want to thank Matthew and his staff for giving me the best service that I've ever experienced at shops I've been to. Mickey your the best your customer service is outstanding I appreciate you for making me feel comfortable and content talking with you. And helping me get the assistance I needed to repair my car your one of a kind.To Matthew you have a great since of humor and you make your customer feel like family.Your staff is outstanding. After my bad experience with other Mechanics I felt like I couldn't trust or believe any other shop again. You guys are a family shop that not only fix cars, but you guys care about your customers. I would recommend anybody that's looking to get thier car fix with good customer service and affordable prices. This is the place to come. YOU GUYS ROCK!

Great service! Matthew and the rest of the staff were awesome. My car needed instant attention and a temporary solution was found immediately so that I could be free to drive just an hour or, two later. (My repair problem happened the day before Thanksgiving.)The solution was temporary as a part had to be ordered. The permanent fix happened right after the holiday weekend and I was charged a fair price! I've found a new mechanic!

Absolutely Excellent service no complaints ! originally brought my car in like everybody else after doing research online checking credibility . after speaking to MATT the owner really down to EARTH ! Helped me out every-way possible . They offer financing programs granted i didn't use it took me a month to pay my balance in full he didn't hassle me simply understood I'm a 24 year old guy getting on my feet . Mickey on the other hand was great helped out every step of the way ! Overall great experience my car runs like a champ , I'm Happy and beyond satisfied and made friends in the process . I WILL & HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

Took my 07 matrix to a highly rated reviewed shop when engine light went on and i could feel the physical problems on the transmission when driving. All the shop was telling me was that the transmission needs to rebuilt because of the problem and it would cost $2200+ to get it done. I had my doubts about rebuilding a transmission and dropping $2,200.00 on a '07 matrix with 200,000's miles on it.So I started searching for another shop. I read some reviews on a handful of shops. For some reason I rolled the dice on this shop because I have learned that 5 star reviews usually come with 1 star pricing. Transmission and Car Care had a 2 and a half star rating, but i picked up the phone and ended up speaking to a gentleman named Matt. After 10 minutes he mentioned he was the owner. Let me tell you it was a very good choice to bring my car into the shop and Matt. Took my car in on Friday, met with Matt (owner) and after going through the diagnosing and troubleshooting , Matt showed me that the OBD-II code is on solenoid wires, and that this could be the problem, but he couldnt be 100% until actual physical work was done on the transmission. They couldn't work on my car right away but Matt promised me it would be worked on that Monday. For some reason Matt made me feel at ease and I left my car at the shop for them to perform repairs.End result, was a $500.00 bill for transmission repair on 4 wires to the SLT Solenoid, plus $250 labor for front brake pads, front brake rotor and serpentine belt replaced (I provided the parts). I was so satisfied and happy with this shop that i decided to do my first business review ever on google and Yelp. This place is the best auto shop I've encountered in a very long time. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

Matt, the owner is a great honest guy. Sansone was going to charge me an arm and a leg for parts and service. I went to Transmission and Car Care Center and Matt was able to get me a much better deal than the competition. My car runs great no complaints. Will go to again for future services

This guy claims I am someone s husband, totally false. Don t even know the lady. He worked on my car and I was not one bit happy with the work and total times I had to return the car to him with the same issues. Hopefully you won t bring your car here but you will see what I m talking about if you do. Just to show you the type of businessman this clown is, he ll post your address and phone number for everyone to see because he s mad when you give him a bad review due to the horrible work and bad customer service. For those that he s placed your personal info. seek an attorney because that s illegal. I thought about seeking legal action but I moved and that was my old company cell number. He really didn t hurt me but shows his professionalism. As you check the reviews he only does it to folks that give him bad reviews and cons you with 10 percent off if you give him a good one. That s something else you need to also to think about if you bring your car to this place. Shop around there definitely better places then this, but good luck if you do decide to bring you car to this joker.

Matt was a great person who explained to me what actually happened to my 2004 MDX and rebuilt my transmission. He first tried every diagnostic test to mitigate the problem.In addition to keep the longevity of my transmission he added a transmission cooler on it as well. Matthew I very knowledgable and his prices are decent. Definitely and A1 transmission specialist.

I brought my 2007 Acura TL Type S with a JDM Transmission that another mechanic put in for me. It had the same issues that the old, original transmission was having.(harsh downshifting and getting stuck in 3rd gear). Matt had the JDM transmission rebuilt but it had the same issue as the original and JDM one.I was lucky enough have a cousin who helped me drop off my original Transmission which my first mechanic had replaced, to the shop. Matt had the guys open up and compare to the rebuilt JDM one. It was discovered that the gear ratios for the JDM transmission were completely off compared to the original.So Matt rebuilt the original transmission as well and installed it. He kept the JDM one since he rebuilt it initially to cover his cost.He also installed my Tien Suspension and Burt, one of the mechanics, told me that my upper ball joint needed to be replaced as it was rattling a lot.It took a little time due to the confusion of the JDM Transmission and Thanksgiving, but they got it done. Now Shirley ( my 2007 Acura TL Type S ) is running perfect. I'm having a blast driving and speeding on the highways as that car is meant to do. came here august of 2019 for repair on my transmission. i drive a 2010 toyota corolla. Price|$700. transmission has given me no problems since. brought my car in on a saturday morning he told me it would be ready by monday but wasn t ready until tuesday. customer service is good, really nice man.
