Matt was fantastic! I had a list of problems with my vehicle after a Nissan diagnostic. I brought it in to Matt for a second opinion and he told me what actually needed repaired and what was just Nissan trying to upsell me. All prices were lower than Nissan and the work was completed incredibly fast. Highly recommended!

I will never recommend this please. I will never ever purchase a car from here or go here for any mechanical issues. The service is HORRIBLE and the people are very DISHONEST and RUDE starting from the owner, the sale rep and mechanic. They will clear your engine code and say they fix your car. The owner Matt is extremely rude and dishonest. Make sure they fix all the issues on your car before picking it up. Matt no need to respond here to me. Please respond to the complaint on BBB.

Placed a call to dealership this morning, mailbox was full, unable to leave a VM , however Merchant returned call. Was inquiring about miles on a vehicle that is listed online... Mileage was incorrect and Merchant was not pleasant during call. Even if the mileage was correct... dont think I would be interested in a purchase. Just my thoughts!

So my 2012 Toyota Camry was having issues from shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. My local mechanic pointed out that all that s needed was most likely a transmission code reset. Upon taking it to the local Toyota dealership that charged me 150$ just to look at it then told me I needed a brand new transmission for 6k!!! They said that a software reset won t help and my local mechanic said that was BS and that I should try and bring it to another transmission specialist. After going to ANOTHER transmission specialist in Rahway they said that they can fix my transmission for 1.5k. This guy in Rahway told me just like the Toyota dealership that the transmission code reset won t do anything and that it s urgent I give them my money because my car can break down any minute. I didn t want to give up and accept these answers. So one day I was driving home and saw Transmission and Car care center so I figured I stop in and tell him the issue. He explained that I most likely need to reset the transmission code and the Car should be fine. 3 Hours after bringing the car in Matt called me and said my car was ready. 100$ later my car is running smoothly and I am not having this issue. Thanks for saving me 2-6k Matt you are the best!

They kept my car for 2 weeks but did not know what to do. I paid $3,184 for fixing the engine misfire problem on my minivan 2007 Honda Odyssey. They could not fix it.On October 3, 2022, I brought my car to this place to get the engine problem repaired. When I dropped off my car, I specifically asked the owner to fix the cylinder head which was the cause of the engine misfire.On October 17 they called me informing the repair job had been done. I asked the owner whether the cylinder head had been replaced. He said no.Anyhow I payed $3,184 and picked up my car. My car seemed OK only for several days. 5 days later, the engine misfire problem occurred again with check engine light flashing.I brought my car back for further repair as the job was not done. The owner told me I had to pay additional money for the repair. I protested him saying that I had already paid all the money for the repair work. He angrily refused to fix the problem unless I pay more money. I think this is wrong and absolutely not fair.

I use to go to this place years a go and service was good. I went back to them thinking they are expert and know what they are doing. I explained Matt car is overheating and explained to him issues I'm having with the car. He kept the car for days and never even bother to call. He states he is very busy and cant even call you to let you know what the car needs. I called him and he stated car needs an Engine change and it will cost $3600. I told him I'm struggling and please make sure car gets fixed properly. He kept the car over a week. After I picked up the car it still overheats and leaking coolant all over just like before. He took the car back serval times and the car still has the same issue over and over again. He keeps the car for weeks and never gives any update on the car and keeps telling me he is busy and he dose not want me to bring the car back. He is extremely rude and aggressive. The car started to overheat again and now the Check Engine light came on and Engine he installed is leaking oil badly . After keeping the car for weeks again I did not get any update from Matt. I called him many times and now he is saying I have to spend over $1400 to get the car fix which I think he has no idea how to fix a car. I took the car back and it still needs major repairer. He charges lots money to fix your car but dose not deliver on his word. Do your self a favor and take your car somewhere else. Just DONT CALL MATT he is too busy for his customer. Long over do review. All i can say Is before repair read warranty before having your repair done here. Transmission warranty says you have to change your fluid evert 6k miles. That is totally ridiculous that can't even change my headlight bulb. Scammers

Incredible customer service and cars from the team at McDarby's Motors. Found a 2013 Ford Focus SE I liked online and went over test drive it. The car was in great condition on arrival (among many others on the lot). The team that helped me was friendly and accommodating from test drive to sale. No hidden fees, fair prices complete transparency in vehicle information, and a great customer experience. I couldn't ask for much more in a no-hassle car buying experience.

Called to confirm in the am. They had 2 identical cars I was interested in. Drove over an hour and when I got there they were both sold "moments ago". Just another used car salesman. Dont waste your time

Great Service! The owner Matt is a very fair and professional guy. I was broken down, not only did he send a mechanic to help me out, he had my car towed, and fixed in no time! I explained my financial situation (broke) lol and he worked out a great price. Service was very affordable and in a decent timeframe! I found a new mechanic! 5 STARS!

I just want to express my gratitude to Matt & his staff at Mc Darby Motors for the satisfaction of taking care of my 2010 Buick lacrosse. I first took my Car to Matt after a friends recommendation and didn't think twice of taking my car to another shop due to the knowledge that Matt provided me . Matt rebuilt my transmission at an excellent price and was very patient in the process in me paying him. I'm giving this shop a 5 star review and I recommend everyone go see Matt if they are having any concerns with their vehicle.Antar Mateen

Matt is awesome. I had a blown clutch on my vw rabbit and he took care of me and always answered my calls and questions. even sent me pictures of my problems. No nonsense and honest. Really a great shop. Even the mechanics explained the work they did in detail when I arrived to pick up my car. Thanks guys

McDarby + Transmission Auto are my go to when I need my 2006 Saturn looked at. Matt has been a godsend now that my car is getting up there in years + unfortunately in dire need of a little extra TLC. You couldn't ask for a kinder group. They do everything to try and resolve your cars issue. They explain the problem, offer solutions + work with you if your on a budget. They do all this while keeping you and your car safe on the road!

I usually keep it short and simple, but this time I can't. McDarby Motors is the best used car lot in Roselle, Nj and their vehicles are not overpriced. I just recently purchased a vehicle from here and I am so pleased on how smoothly the vehicle runs as if it was brand new. I highly recommend going here for a vehicle or even if you need to get your vehicle fixed. They are the best at both! I forgot to mention...They customer serviceskills is the best. Thank you Rob and rest of the crew for helping me. You guys are the best!

My brother brought his first car from this establishment July 1st 2017. It is now September 21st and he's had to take his car back and fourth FIVE times for various different problems . Along with the car and warranty my brother was told he'd be "guaranteed to pass inspection" at the DMV when he went. It is almost 3 months later and he has not passed inspection because the check engine light is still on! It was not on when he purchased the car, but has been on ever since. Matt who is the owner had a good rapport with my mother until the other day. He was very disrespectful, sexist and short with my mother which is not acceptable nor appreciated especially when her and my brother made a $5,500 contribution to their business. After Matt had the car for TEN days, to FIX a leaking oil and check engine light, he told my mother "I have no time to argue with a woman today" "I lied, I didn't order the part" "I have other cars to worry about" and "this is a favor" after she expressed her frustration about the car not being fixed after him having it for 10 days and that calls were not being returned, and he had given a turnaround time that passed. All in all I understand people have bad days and they can get stressed out but that is NO way to do business. You must ALWAYS respect and appreciate paying customers because they are what keep your business running. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone because of their unprofessional ways and the sketchiness associated with their "guarantees".Next time my family knows to take their hard earned money to a different establishment.

Very happy with these gentlemen. I was greeted in the lot by a young professional man, who went and assisted getting the keys and plates for a test drive. Matt, went with my daughter and I and was very honest (maybe to a fault..) but he told me what was wrong with the vehicle and FIXED IT. I was extremely nervous as a female buyer, but was treated great, and honestly. I got the vehicle I wanted and it drives great. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Don't be fooled by the ad for free diagnostic transmission test. I made a appointment early this week to drop my car off today and they were to take me back to work. I called first to make sure they had me transportation back to work. The unprofessional desk girl assured me it was all worked out and the owner assured me Monday it would only take a hour. Well I arrived there and office chick couldn't get any of the mechanics to take me back and tried covincing them to test drive my car . Finally she did get me a ride and this mechanic didn't know where to go or how to get back, nor did he know how to put his work address in a GPS! Three hours later I get a call from the owner asking what problems I'm having and saying he was getting ready to test drive my car! I asked what problems did the diagnostic test show? That did no test just false advertisement to get you there. I demanded them return my car. I don't smoke and the driver left a empty Newport box in my car and dirty footprints on my carpet! The owner was rude and very unprofessional, probably because he couldn't explain why no diagnostic test was done. Be wise don't go for the website hype!

Not impressed, most of the vehicles were overpriced and not in excellent condition for the price they were asking. Linden Towne across the street was a lot better quality for the same price range. Overall very disappointed.

love my new to me truck!!! easy to deal with, even called me to make sure everything was good after the sale, who does that? Mcdarby motors does! it was the best price in the area too, thats what initially made me go there.

Matt was very helpful.. They were able to bring my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer back to life for the very reasonable price. Would definitely use them again in the future.

The best experience I had ever getting my car fixed... They do really good work and have great customer service skills.. Most of all they have affordable prices.. I really appreciate the recommendation I received to take my car there.. I will never go to any other shop as long as they're in business..

First off, Matt is the nicest and most professional mechanic I've dealt with. Took me in quickly very informative and knowledgeable. My truck spent months with another mechanic Matt offered to tow my truck from the other shop and took care of me. Thanx bud

Good place to deal with. Guys are very friendly and helpful. Got a truck from them and unfortunately the battery needed to be replaced the next day. No biggie though. Still a good place. Rob was great to deal with.

I went to McDarby's for some transmission work on my car. Not only did they fix my car, but they worked with my warranty company. The service was great. Mickey and Matthew are a class act and professional. They went above and beyond!

They repaired my car, they were very friendly and knowledgeable about what the problem was and exactly how to fix it. They even worked with the used car warranty company to help me with the costs and had me bring it back a week later just to look over it again after I drove it around.
