After years of going out of my way to an out of town mechanic, we decided to bring one of our four cars to First Independent by way of tow truck. Our first impression started well with the Secretary at the place: a very pleasant person (Carmen) keeping up with the flow of customers and phone calls returned all my calls and finally it was Mr. Cruz turn to call me. Well, he got the chance to do whatever he can to my car, since it was not starting when we called the tow truck, but to my surprise, he just told me that nothing was wrong with the car, nothing owe and to go and get my vehicle from his shop.Years of being rip off by different mechanics, it was a great experience to know there is still people that value the first principle of business; A happy customer, bring more customers.Thank you Mr. Cruz and Carmen for all your help!!

Had an appointment to add a transmission cooler on a 2017 CUV, I had called and spoke to the owner and agreed on a price. I Had the printout from the dealership telling that the transmission was 100% checked out and fine. The owner isn't there when I show up and then on the phone instructs me he "needs to hook it up to his diagnostic machine to make sure its ok."I tell him I am not paying for that as I have a dealer receipt from 3 days prior and he pivots and tells me � don't want to do the job."Unprofessional and a waste of time. I called and was quoted a price to put in a used transmission and it turns out the manager took my engine size and Vin incorrectly. The owner was very nasty about the situation and acted in a very unprofessional way by cursing at me and telling me he would not pay for the towing charge to and from his auto shop. Now I am out $100 because I would have never had car towed to him .

Went to get my truck looked at for a noise in rear of my truck, everything started out fine, dropped the truck off, spoke to the owner, he explained how the process would work with auto repair insurance, he looked at it, called me a couple of days later, told me it was the rear differential that needed to be replaced, gave me the truck back, he said he would make an estimate and contact the insurance, call me back in a couple of days, he never did so I stopped by, he apologized, gave me excuses about sick mechanics and said to give him a few more days, waited some more and still never got a call, stopped by again and more excuses, to sum it up, 2 weeks later and my truck still hasn't been fixed and we never even got past the insurance part!!! owner is very disorganized and never returns your calls, seems to prioritize commercial customers and leaves regular folk to the wayside, better off going somewhere else to get your car fixed or you might end up getting a lot of your time wasted!!!

This establishment is first rate all the way! Work is completed as promised and on time. If any issues follow, Mr Cruz is more than willing to work until customer fully satisfied. I would recommend to any one needing all types of vehicle maintenance.

MUCH AGREED. Mr. Cruz is a very caring, compassionate man. I am a reverend in my own congregation and can personally attest to the loyalty and sincerity Mr. Cruz expresses on a daily basis. This man is nothing but an honest, respectable business man who does everything he can to help his community. He runs one of the finer auto repair facilities in Union Co. and that should say a lot coming from a retired Master Certified ASE and GM "A" class auto tech, like myself!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Mr Cruz is a scam artist. Took 1500 dollars to fix my transmission, messed it up once, then replaced that one at no charge, but then handed me back my car with MORE front end problems that he swears up and down he didn't cause. But the problems didn't exist until after it was on his lift. He even fired the technician originally working on my car.Terrible service, terrible experience, and expensive. Do not do business with First Independent Auto Repair

I was spending $1000.00 a month at First Independent Auto Repair. A little expensive but for the most part they do good work. Until I paid Cruz $1200.00 for an electrical job that was done incorrectly, now Cruz doesn't want to correct it because he knows it will take more time then he's willing to spend. I am very disappointed and WONT GO BACK !

These guys are a bunch of crooks. They do not follow through with what they say and install & sell USED PARTS when its not noted anywhere on your bill. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE, the owner and all service help are beyond RUDE! SCAMMERS!!!!

They wanted to charge me 3200 for a transmission I said no and they charge me to look at it I already told them what was wrong with it scams don t go here they charged me 70 bucks just to make sure it was the transmission
