The most wonderful and trustworthy mechanic!!!! I relocated to FL and still consult with Jimmy regarding car issues. I've even considered driving from FL to NJ for a tune up for my car. He's truly the best!

Read the reviews while waiting for a tow and gave Jimmy a whirl, always hard to know if the five stars are too good to be true. Turns out they're not. Jimmy was great. Kind, thorough and fair. Five stars from me too.

Jimmy is the best. He's been my family's trusted mechanic for many years. Even though I moved to NYC, I still bring my car back to Jimmy when I have an issue. Jimmy is a very humble and honest mechanic. I m So glad I found him, I have 6 children 3 who will be driving old used cars this year and I will def be bringing all our cars to him for fixing. He s great at what he does and his pricing is very fair and affordable. I didn t feel pressured at all. Kinda felt like I knew the guy lol. That s how great he was!! Everyone always asks, Hey do you know a mechanic or service station in the area that does good work and is honest? Well look no further! I highly recommend VC Automotive for all your auto needs. Jimmy is the most honest person you ll ever meet and will never try and sell you something you don t need. He s a straight shooter with no gimmicks. I ve been taking my vehicles to VC for the last two years and highly recommend you do the same if you want quality and honesty. Thank Jimmy!!!

Jim is the most honest and professional mechanic I have ever dealt with. He doesn't try to oversell or fear-monger clients into purchasing more than they have to, and he is extremely upfront with which repairs need priority and which do not. Having dealt with poor deals and unfriendly mechanics in the past for my Volvo C30, I appreciated that Jim was the first and only one to give me real feedback and advice, along with timeframes for major repairs without making me feel like I needed to do everything right away. I highly recommend VC for anyone in need of a repair, especially for a Volvo!

Out of nowhere my 2014 Volvo S60 started to whistle. It wasn t a happy tune. I googled Volvo repair and found this shop. I called after hours and I was called back promptly the next morning. I was seen the same day and my repair took 90 minutes to do. Jimmy, the owner of VC was absolutely wonderful and I loved talking to him! If your Volvo ever starts to whistle, sing or hum an unhappy tune, take it to VC. You ll be happy you did. Thanks again guys!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Jimmy of VC is the best mechanic I have ever used HANDS DOWN. He is very honest and wants what is best for his customers... even if it means sending them to someone else if it is what he feels is best. I would never go to any other place for work on my car. I will stick with Jimmy because he is knowledgeable and always more than fair. Class ACT!

My family and I have always had volvos. We took them to jimmy for years. We ve now moved on to other cars but we still take them to jimmy. I even trust my camaro with him. The other mechanic he works with, ray, is a camaro lover as well. I feel very confident leaving my baby with them! They are incredibly honest. They ve actually saved me thousands over the years when the dealership would try to scare me into fixing things that weren t necessary. They re very honest and do great work. So thankful I have this place! You can tell jimmy really cares about his customers and making sure they re safe.

Truly, Jim is amazing. I ve got stories - and every one is EXCELLENT (on Jimmy) and BAD for every big name mechanic in the area. Here are just some of them:#1) Had a crank no-start problem.Took it to ahem :: Pep Boys :: . They racked up *hundreds* up dollars in charges *guessing* what the problem was (process of elimination via part replacement is *not* an acceptable practice) they still didn t fix it after FIVE DAYS. (Of course, they didn t admit that what they were doing was guessing.) Meanwhile, I looked like a deadbeat at work and racked up tons of Lyft charges when I did manage to make it there without my car.Had it towed to Jim s. He had it figured it out in 3 hours FLAT. TURNS OUT - ProVoVo put the WRONG PART number in my car months earlier. And then JIM FOUGHT & called around to try to get it replaced via the sort warranty. (Meanwhile, ProVoVo fought back & wouldn t even let us see the receipt for the part that I had paid for earlier.) All at little benefit to Jim, because he barely charged me for any of this.#2) Red Bank Volvo DEALERSHIP almost had me trash my car because they told me it d be $3000 to repair the radiator and associated issues. Took it to Jim who found that it did not need a radiator after all (and indeed, it didn t), and cut a few hoses to fix the minor issues that were the cause of my heater problem. A couple hundred dollars. And he could have replaced the radiator & everything at about HALF THE COST of dealer, even if he had needed to replace it.There are other things so good about Jim s way of operation that I m not even sure I want to say all of it here because honestly, I think he gives a little too much for his own sake.I can t ever remember a mechanic who would BENCH TEST a part. (Don t make the mistake of assuming that if you pay more for dealership quality, that you ll get that quality.)(Not to mention that somewhere between Pep Boys, Valero on Rt. 33, and ProVoVo, I got my new tires switched for bald ones.)If Jim is a bit far for you (like he is 30min away for me), trust me it s worth it to bring it to him. It ll cost you way more in time & money anywhere else.After decades of searching for a mechanic who knows what he is doing, won t mess around guessing what the problem is, communicates effectively, and tries to find the least expensive (yet quality) solution to a car s issues I have finally found him.

Jimmy is an extremely honest mechanic. His pricing is fair and he will not do any unnecessary work on your car to pad the bill. People like him are hard to find. I would recommend him without any reservations. If you have a problem with your car, he is the man to see.

Jimmy is the best. I only buy Volvos so he can work on them. He's helped me with multiple issues, and has always been fair and honest. He even helped me buy my last car, an XC90 he had been servicing! Cannot recommend enough!

Jimmy is a true pro- he ll tell you exactly what you need or don t need. No need to have any classic will this mechanic rip me? - he is a straight shooter and not only that, but he does a fantastic job. Have been a dozen times, and will continue to go as long as I live here. Thanks Jimmy and the crew!

Clear communication. Spelled out all details repair. Discussed options and explained what to look for going forward. Very fair price for amount of work done. I would not hesitate in recommending him for your repair work. I called VC and the Volvo Dealer repair shop in Edison at the same time. I'm driving my repaired Volvo now. The dealership has not even called back yet. Get your work done here and drive with confidence.

Very knowledgeable and honest. Took my Volvo in for an oil change. Volvo recently changed the specifics on the type of oil I need. I had received an online quote from the owner. Once there, he saw the sticker that I needed the specific (more expensive) synthetic. He still honored his quoted price, which was 1/4 of the price the dealership wanted. He also explained the need for this oil (since the dealership never did when I was there for my last oil change.) As a woman, you always leave an auto shop wondering if you've been duped....not here.

Boy am I glad I dropped my 2007 XC90 off with VoVo Clinic after a local dealer handed me a large list of repairs. Turns out the dealer's diagnosis was wrong and the VoVo Clinic guys correctly diagnosed and fixed my issues at a significant cost savings. All the while communicating quickly and professionally. Thanks guys.

I have been to many repair shops in my day but vc auto is by far the best I have ever been too... they are the real deal..... knowledge workmanship and the best customer service you will find...i give them the triple crown in auto repair ... ask for jim if he can't fix it no one canMark
