I ve been taking both, my personal vehicles and my company fleet vehicles, to SPAR for ages. They re the most trusted, dependable, and knowledgeable crew I know of. Al, Ryan, and the rest of em are pros, but what I value the most is the fact that they re happy to educate - adding an extra layer of consumer confidence. Recommend for sure.

Definitely recommend Spar Auto Service for your vehicles. Al and Ryan are very honest and care about their customers. Had an oil leak due to a dealership overtighting my oil filter. They took me with no appointment and fixed in 1 hour. All my worries were gone.

I had to get my car towed from my house. The malfunction indicator lamp was lit on dashboard. I was not sure what the problem was; called AAA services which towed my car to Spar. First, Wayne with AAA is fantastic. Just a recommendation if you ever need towing (DeFalco Towing).Now to Spar. Received call from Ryan re diagnostics and process. Intricate skills required to remove engine and replace bad sensor. I was able to pick up car after 2 days.Al called me to pick up car. Such a personable business man. Told me they drove car for about 10 miles (no issues); he noticed windshield wipers needed replacement. New windshield wipers and sensor in engine - mucho $$$ later but totally wowed by the service I received first time around. Will definitely consider using their services again.Keep up the amazing customer satisfaction SPAR and thank you so very much. My family has been using Spar auto since we came to New Jersey almost 20 years ago. We have gone through several cars since that time and we wouldn t go anywhere else. They have integrity, no up charges or surprises and repair your car in a timely manner. They will let you know what is or isn t urgent and what can wait until later. They have also checked all used cars that were buying prospects and gave me honest feedback. Customer service at its best!!!! Purchased brand new tires from them which they also installed. They said it might take a little longer then expected so they were so generous to offer me a car for a couple of hours so I can run my errands. They take care of the locals very well. They were amazing!! Great job to the staff!! We appreciate you all!

I have been using Spar Auto for over 5 years and have been consistently happy with them. They do great work, on schedule and efficiently. On the rare occurrences that there was a remaining issue they take responsibility for it, sometimes with no extra charge. Their rates are reasonable and they provide good explanations, so i never feel that I have been taken advantage of. The customer waiting area is clean and actually pleasant, and staff members Ryan, Al and all the rest are really nice people. I have had tires, brakes, oil changes, exhaust work done over the years. My 11 year old Toyota is running better and smoother than ever now, and I have Spar to thank for it!Services: Auto exhaust system repair, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Auto tire replacement

My 2012 Chevy Traverse overheated. After towing from one auto repair shop to another, I finally brought it to SPAR. Although at that point I knew exactly what I needed (recommended by Chevy Service), SPAR ran their own diagnostic and did the necessary repairs step by step, ensuring after each part replacement if the matter was resolved before replacing all parts at once. To note, I needed a whole cooling system replace; thermostat ( replaced at Chevy), radiator, water pump and heater core. SPAR only had to replace Radiator & water pump and made the executive decision to change the serpentine belt. Needless to say, SPAR saved me over $1K in repair compare to Chevy Service quote. The communicate was exceptional (Al was very thorough) the service was FAST! In just 3 days my car was ready and running better than before! Feels like a new car ride. Most definitely recommend SPAR and will for sure be back if needed. Lastly, Al even called to follow up and make sure that all was good. Cant beat that! Thank you Al and your team! Great job.

Best and most honest shop I've ever been to. The owner and Ryan (the best) take their time to explain exactly what the car needs as well future maintenance needed. I have been coming to this shop for about 6 months now and they literally do magic. They are fully responsible for both of my cars being on the road. Great customer service . No other shop will touch my cars as long as I'm in the area. Recommend 1000% for anyone in the Middlesex area.

I've been taking my cars to the same Mechanic for over 15 years, but recently relocated to another area and a friend recommended that I try Spar Auto. Glad I took him up on his recommendation. The staff was very professional. The prices were very reasonable and as promised the work was done in a timely manner. I've been there a couple of times for maintenance and tire repair. I really appreciate that they never try to upsell services that I don't need. Once they took a look at my car and didn't even charge for the time (no repair needed).

Al and co. are great, honest mechanics. Had rear noise in my jeep, they diagnosed some bolts/washers loose. They retorqued everything to spec. Did not add any parts that were not needed. Great, honest shop.

I recently took my 2008 BMW to Spar Auto Services for a quick ground strap replacement. The gentleman behind the counter, Al, was very professional, explaining the repair process and providing me with a quote for the job. I was happy to hear the quote as the dealership was going to charge me 3x that...so I went ahead and told Al to do the job. I was in and out of the place within an hour. During the time, Al was also friendly and we chatted about different auto repair jobs and I told tell he had a vast knowledge for car repairs as he has been in the business for about 30 years. I will take my car to his shop every time now going forward, he is honest and straight forward with you.Thank you Al for the great service!

Great service from this place. Al was incredibly helpful in servicing my A4 and diagnosing the underlying issues I have been having. He made sure to call me with updates and explain exactly what the cause of the problems were. I had already known that I had quite a few things that needed to be fixed - oil gasket replacement, sensor replacements, etc. - and it was all done in a timely manner. Al is very experienced, and also with German cars. Ryan was incredibly helpful and friendly as well. Will definitely be returning for future servicing.

I have been going to Spar Auto for about 12 years now. The reason I began going is because they had a sign outside noting that they were VW certified (and I had a Passat at the time), so I was trying to avoid going to a dealer and getting ripped off as I'd read really bad reviews about a few of them. What I didn't know is that they service all kinds of vehicles that you might typically think that have to take to a dealer.Al, the head mechanic there is ridiculously HONEST and always gives you a thorough and frank assessment of your vehicle's issues. Ryan and Victor are very competent and professional and always provide exceptional and thorough service. An honest mechanic? Isn't that an oxymoron? Can't even begin to tell you how many times I've felt a mechanic was over diagnosing my car issues just so I could spend more money. I actually live about 35 miles away and I'm still a customer as I can't imagine taking my family's vehicles anyplace else. Trust them wholeheartedly. Try them. You'll love them too. (:

The service I received at Spar auto was great! I have a very tough time trusting mechanics, but the owner and the workers are very trustworthy and aren't trying to make a quick buck. They truly care about cars and they take care of the people driving them as well. I recommend them to all of my friends and I will continue going here until the government says I can't drive anymore!

I've been going to Spar Auto since my teenage years with my very first car. Al has always taken care of any problem that would arise. Whether it be my car or any of my family members. Very honest mechanic who doesn't take advantage of people, gives good recommendations and is not pushy at all. Al tries to help you not sell you, which is hard to find now a days! This is my go to place. I don't even bother with anyone else and will always recommend people to go here if you want the problems resolved the first time! Thank you Al and Ryan for always being there for us even in emergency days without an appointment. Great prices and great service. Look no further!

Al and the guys are always available to help out as best as they can! I feel they're honest and work hard to keep their customers happy. I haven't been sold services I didn't need and Al has personally looked for deals and better prices on parts. I've recommended Spar Auto to others and will continue to do so whenever I have the chance :)

I love the service the Spar Auto provides. They are very trustful & likable people and they treat with utmost respect to their customers. I have already recommended couple of my friends & family to go over there whenever they have any problem with their cars. The owner is friendly and won't charge much for the work. You can trust them and they aren't like the other mechanic guys who charge more and tell us to replace parts which are not even in a bad condition.

This place has great people working here. I've been coming here for all my car problems for years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my cars. Just recently took my BMW x5, and Al and his team were able to fix what others weren't able to even detect. Car needed a new computer and programing, and they were able to fix it in less time than what others told me.

Exceeds expectations. If you are looking for a trustworthy shop where you won't get the workaround then you have come to the right place! They are honest and tell you all the issues they see in the car and call you every step of the way to let you know if they find anything additional. They also explain what could have caused the problem, and how to resolve it and give you the option to add the fix to the list if you would like. I have been to other shops in the past that claim they fixed additional problems with my vehicle and charge me for it even though I didn't approve of it.As long as I live in New Jersey I will always go to Spar!

Wen't here for the first time today to get a State Inspection. They took me in right away and the inspection took about 10-15 minutes. Very quick! Customer service was good. I'll definitely be going back there when I get my next oil change.Edit 11/24/13: It's been a year since my first review here, so I wanted to do an update. I've been going here ever since my first time. These guys are still great. I've been getting my regular oil changes here. The last oil change I got was a month ago. The owner took me back to the garage and showed me that my tires were very worn out. First of all, other shops that I've went to, they never SHOWED me what problems I had with my car. When the owner said to me 'come with me, I need to show you something' I was surprised because past mechanics I've dealt with, never said that to me.Also, I get email notifications from them reminding me of up coming oil changes. The owner also keeps track of my mileage...good for when I need a tire rotation or engine flush or any service that needs to be done after a certain amount of mileage. I mean, that's good, reliable and trustworthy service to me!

We have taken several vehicles to SPAR AUTO SERVICE for more then 15 years. Al Patel, Service Manager is a proven knowledgeable auto mechanic who provides excellent customer service. The SPAR technicians are courteous and eager to provide excellent service. Our first experience was with a car we took to SPAR for oil change service. We had complained to the dealer several times about a thumping noise when braking. Was told the brake system was in good condition. Al heard the noise. Found a problem with the braking system and corrected it. We trust the SPAR AUTO SERVICE and recommend them to family and friends.
