These Guys are the best, honest, won't try to fix things you will not need.. I've been going to my mechanic for years, just find out I've been getting rip off.. if you're looking for a good mechanic please give these guys a try, believe me you won't be disappointed.. they have my business and believe I will be recommending them to all my family and friends..

Finally, a great mechanic that is able to fix problems, has reasonable prices and mist importantly, stands behind his work. It has been a great experience doing business with Chris. Now, I am taking not only my car but also my mom's.

I highly recommend J&L Auto. They perform excellent work at very reasonable prices in a timely manner. I also know that they are very honest because I told them I thought I might need brakes as well as the repair that was being made and I was told they were fine. Someone dishonest could have just said yes to make more money. I feel very confident bringing my vehicle to them.

I had a great experience there! My tire light was on, and I went in to get it fixed. They didn t charge me for the service, when they could have when I thought that something was wrong. I will definitely be back!

I highly recommend J&L for your auto needs. Chris is a pleasure to deal with and they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. My car is a 2007 and they have been very honest in fixing just what needs to be done to make it safe and dependable. Their work is efficient and prices are reasonable. They stand by their work and I never had a problem after work was performed. So if you need work done on your car, J&L is the place to go!

I was recommended by a friend to check this place out. After being quoted a very expensive quote from the dealership for suspension repair, I came to J&L for a second opinion. Chris was very honest and clear about the diagnosis, ended up not needing to do the repair that was suggested by the dealership! I am so pleased with J&L. I used them years ago when my 2016 Toyota Corolla was hit in a hit and run. My front bumper needed to be replaced. Almost five years later, that bumper they replaced started to fall off on the one side. I think it was from the wear-and-tear of pulling out of my steep driveway. Lenny assured me that they would do their best to patch it without having to order a whole new bumper. And sure enough within 12 hours, the job was done. No new bumper needed. He didn t charge me anything this time since I used them a few years back. I think that was so generous. Joe was also very easy to work with and called me as soon as the car was finished. Both of them were extremely professional. I cannot recommend J&L enough!Service: Body & Trim

Honest and quality service. My old mechanic retired and sold his business. I took my car to J&L Auto Center and very Happy I did. He diagnosed a problem with the Coil spring in my steering wheel. Turns out it is under warranty. He only charged me for 30 minutes time which is $60.00. I recommend J&L highly.

I randomly found J&L on a list from my insurance so I had no connection or hook up , which I feel is worth noting bc as a woman who very obviously knows nothing about cars I recognize how easily I can be taken advantage of in situations like this. Well it was my first time here and after agreeing to an estimate, Lenny called to tell me that it turned out they didn t need to replace my entire door, which significantly lowered my price. I absolutely never would have known that they didn t actually replace the entire door. The honesty was super impressive, so they have my business from now on!Service: Body & Trim

J & L came recommended by my son. Everything he said about J & L was true. I thought I might have needed an altenator for my 2015 Equinox and that's what Chris could have given me and sent me on my way, but he didn't he was honest and all I needed was a belttensioner and a few other things. He was very pleasant and I totally appreciate his honesty. He definitely has a new customer in me. These days it is hard to find a mechanic whose honest and that you can trust AND reasonably priced. J&L is a trustworthy and wonderful team. I took my car for repairs after a collision for which I was not at fault. The appraisal I received from the insurance company came in at lower than what the actual cost would be however the team worked with me to help match this price. They did a really excellent job and while I am intimidated by vehicles/know very little about mechanics etc I felt very comfortable and trusting with this team. Thank you J&L!

I changed tire pads and rotors for my Honda Odyssey 2016 at this shop. They offered the best price for the best quality stuff. They were quick. It was easy to work with Chris who's trustable and proves his workmanship. I am definitely coming here for my car.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

My 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser AC unit had an issue where it stopped working and blowed hot air. Being somewhat mechanical I thought it could either have been the AC Compressor or a broken AC refrigerant line that runs from the engine bay down the passenger underside of vehicle frame. Took my vehicle to J and L to further investigate and left it with Chris the technician at the shop, and he told me he will take a look at it and let me know. He called me back a couple hours later and told me the exact problem on why the AC was not working. He told me it was not the compressor but in fact was a broken AC line that ran under the passenger side under frame. Chris tells me he will see what he can do, ordered a couple parts such as fittings etc there are really no parts to fix this issue unless you replace the whole AC line that can cost thousands of dollars. Chris ordered what he needed and fixed the AC line cutting out the broken portion and replaced with fittings etc The vehicle is blowing Cold Air again! I do not have to tell anyone how hard it is to find an honest, trustworthy shop and technician like Chris at J and L. I totally appreciated what he did and I will definitely be back again. J and L has also done auto body work in my vehicles in the past and have done great work.. Once again thank you Chris.

I had a flat tire and was 3 hours away from home. I was there at 8 am and didn't leave for home till 4. The whole time I was there. They were very nice and did whatever it took to help me. The company who was supposed to deliver it. Didn't even send it out yet. They called and it came in 30 minutes.Thank you J&L

I had a vehicle toad there for some auto body work and was told that their work load was minimal and they were able to get the work done in 2 weeks. This was further from the truth. It took more than 4 weeks to get the work complete, and they kept telling me that the next day, the car would be ready. I believe the service is not that optimal or expedient.

Chris and the staff at J&L Auto (South Plainfield) are top notch. They're knowledgeable, they can quickly pinpoint the problems or issues with your vehicle and the prices are reasonable (and sometimes lower compared to other auto shops). They also do great work. These guys are competent, professional, and friendly.I have been to them several times for work on my 2003 Nissan Sentra, as well as nicks and dings on my 2020 Honda Accord.They have never charged me for BS.Their work is first class, and their prices are fair.Highly recommended.Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Body & Trim, Brakes

The exterior handle to my car door broke off one day randomly. So I called them, and they said bring it in immediately.I was going away for a few days so I asked if I could have it back by Monday, they said they would do their best. They quoted me a price that I was fine with paying, and when there was an additional part that was needed they called to confirm that the new price was okay as well.They performed the job on time, as quoted, and gave me a flexible pick up time.I would use them again.Service: Body & Trim

Radiator replacement and check engine/catalytic converter replacementI had 2 different repair work done in the last 2 months. Chris has been very helpful and friendly during this whole process. Had a flat tire and was stressing as I was in the middle of work and had a long trip planned for the next day. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make the trip. The experience with Chris and J&L was perfect. No obstacles to dropping off the vehicle, got it looked at and the flat was repaired by the time I got out of work. For someone with minimal free-time, this was exactly what I needed. Been to many auto shops, but I have never had the level of effortlessly great customer service that I did at J&LService: Tires
