I have been a repeat customer with Pep Boys and have never been disappointed with the service. They point out all the issues of service that is needed ASAP or should be done soon. Also love the coupons, they really help.I would recommend highly.

Next morning day after had a tire replaced on my Grand Cherokee found bad surprise; the spare tire housing kit was left in my trunk & was not put back in it s place.. I called Paterson Pepboys they responded that I should ve told them to put it back and to come back will do it for you. What if a lady or senior citizen, which I am, couldn t do it on their own or person traveling and have to put luggage s and have no time! Bad business practices

I took my vehicle in to get an oil change, tires checked, and an overall check up. The two women that I worked with, Jennifer (Assistant Manager) and Lauren were amazing and got my car back to me very quickly. I also loved to see two women doing such great work in a predominately male dominated field. Kudos to the store manager (Soleman I believe was his name) for fostering a positive environment.

I was going to pep boys yesterday only inspections my vehicle what a wrong my vehicle. The ladi customer service she said 30 to 40 min. But I was waiting for 2 and half hours they're cannot inspections mi vehicle. I see the glass every one micanic playing in self phone. After 3 and half hours later the given me my vehicle. It was very bad.

I made an appointment for 9am to get 4 new tires for my daughter's car because they had a sale "buy 2 get 2 free" on Cooper tires. I showed up at 845am and asked how long was the wait. They told me 1 hour, an hour and a half max. I said ok since it was Saturday and a lot of people inside already. One hour went by. Two hours went by. I asked how much longer because I had to go to work and can't be late. They told me not much longer. By 1145am, I just happened to look in the front parking lot and the car hasn't been moved! At which point I informed the service person who told me in return to wait a minute, I'm busy (talking to co-worker) very rudely! Another service person saw my frustration and went and got the car and pulled it into the service bay. I also wanted an alignment. I saw them pull the car out at 1215pm and I thought they were done. NOPE! It sat in the back lot for another 15 mins. I really became furious and told them I need to be at work by 1pm and need the car and it's just sitting there. I was then told that they were waiting on the alignment machine. I refused the alignment at that point, got my car and left (I paid of course!) What is the point of making an appointment if it's not honored! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! The car does drive smoother BUT they didn't even clean the tires. Maybe they usually do, but I needed the car at that point. I feel if the service people were honest up front on how long it was going to take, I would have either left the car there and have someone pick it up OR do it on my day off! This has happened to me 2 times before, but I'd thought I give them another chance. No more Pep Boys for me, even if they had a "Buy 1 get 3 free" tire sale!

I got to the shop at 12pm on 12/18/23. The young man told me to come back at 2pm for them to look at my car. I decided to stay since I didn't live too near the shop and it was raining. 2pm showed up my car was still not in service. They finally got it in at 5pm just to tell me there's nothing wrong with my tires. The mechanics didn't even take the time to read what service was being done to my car two years ago. They ask me " which tire was leaking"? I'm puzzled because that is their job to figure it out. And I'm also suprised there was no description written when I got my car serviced there 2 years ago. Poor customer service and so incompetent. If there was a score of zero I would have given them a zero.

Zero Stars if I could. I made an appointment for an oil change on 12/9 for 12pm from Car Advise, they told me 2 and a half hours, fine. I went home, didn t hear nothing so around 5pm I went back to the location, they told me that they were busy and didn t have enough workers. Spoke with a manager and told me that they re sorry and that my car was next and I had to wait an hour. I decided to leave. No courtesy or sympathy for wasting my time. Never again will I come for any service, let alone an oil change.

I was given a price and an explanation of what needed to be done before the service started. When the service was completed i was given a 230$ increase of what I owed (730$) with no explanation. Additional work was done with an increase in price and I wasn't informed. The person that gave me the amount left the store. I felt scammed. I did not appreciate the lack of professionalism and courtesy of the service. I've been going to the same location for years and the new, younger crew doesn't have a grasp of how important it is to communicate clearly what changes I should of been made aware of. Especially if the price jumped that high. They tried to mask this issue with "discounts," that I was "lucky," to recieve. I still can't believe they did this.

Good for an oil change that's about it. I got lied to for company profit. Had told me I had a nail in the side wall of 1 tire and they had to change all 4 tires because the company policy. Quote was 800 dollars. I passed and took it to a different shop and the nail was in the center . They pulled it out and patched it for 20 bucks. Off I went. I would never let kids from Lincoln tech making 15 bucks an hour work on my cars again.

This was without a doubt the worst auto experience of my life. I went in Saturday for a new set of tires. First off it took 6 hours. They also informed me I needed new back brakes... whatever I told them to give me new brakes. While they were changing the brakes they accidentally cut a cable that causes the lights on the dashboard to go on. They did not have the part in stock and told me i had to come back Monday morning at 8am and it will be a quick 10 minute fix. (What can I do. More on this in a bit.)The next day, Sunday I go out to my car and find one of my brand new tires is flat! I take it in and find out they broke the air valve while changing the tire. They fixed the valve and was on my way.Back to the cable. Monday morning i go back for the "quick fix". They were not sure if the part arrived. After waiting for an hour they informed me the part had indeed not arrived, but someone was going to pick it up and it would be there at 12. As I had to go to work they called me a lyft and said my car would be ready to pick up by 5 when I got to work. 2pm i get a call, they picked up the wrong part! They informed me it wouldn't be there until the next afternoon. Tuesday now!As I needed my car I told them I would pick it up and bring it by the next day after work around 5:30. They said it was fine, no problem.Tuesday 5pm leaving work i get a call asking where I am, i tell them I am on my way, but they tell me the mechanic who has been working on my car leaves at 5. Ok, can someone else do it? No, they say only the mechanic who started the job can finish it and she will not be back until Thursday! That is crazy! You did two things to my car and messed them both up and now telling me I have to wait until Thursday because another mechanic is not allowed to put in the little cable that I was told only takes 10 minutes to do!?!? I have been very patient with them for 4 days now, but now it's just ridiculous! This place has been a disaster and my car is still not fixed!!! Worst auto shop ever!!!

New service agent called Bridgett, she is great and smart. She did assist me fast and very professional. She knew her her craft. I would recommend Rt 20 Pep Boys to my friends and family. The service was done really fast

Went for tire replacements o. 4 wheels. 12:20 dropoff. 2hours... Car wasnt done until 4:30. 4 hours later........... Also Went for a Wheel alignment. Told me 30mins. It took 1.5 hours. The service technicians are slow and chatty and smoke brakes. Not enough work being done efficiently

Supposed to have an 8am appointment for a scheduled tire change. Immediately the person who opens the store states that the shop is a different department. There is no one on registers, no on in the shop no one anywhere except the guy who opened the store. The line for the service department is queued up by the entrance. It is already 8:15 and NO ONE!!!! AVOID THIS STORE! It's now 11:45 and still waiting.

The only reason I give any stars is for convenience to the interstate, good selection of parts in the store, and they offer law enforcement/military discounts. Everything else was one of the worst auto store experiences I've had. This was the first time I have been to a Pep Boys and will unfortunately be my last. I came rolling up on a donut spare after blowing a tire on the NJ turnpike as they do offer a convenient location to the interstate. After explaining that my tires were only a few months old and that I was just wanting to replace the one that had picked up a screw, I was offered specials on 4 new tires. This was not the situation where that was necessary. After explaining again that I did not need but one tire, the car was put on the rack and service was relatively quick. Unfortunately, I could see that the vehicle was done as there is a window to the service center, we waited another ten minutes as every employee in the store was scrolling on their phones, service employees and main cashiers. He finally looked outside and told me it was ready. I paid in cash, but there was no coin change and instead of checking the other cash registers, I got the short end of the stick, not that big of a deal but just compounded the rest of the issues. I went to leave but the spare was just set on the back of the car....I went back in and informed the service desk of this and they looked at me like I was crazy and that they had put it back in its place. I walked out there with them and pointed it out and an employee was told to put it back. So I stood in the rain installing it myself and raising it back up because I was more than fed up at this point before the employee came out and "helped" me. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else, especially on the tail end of a 2,000 mile road trip when you need decent service the most.

I will never come back here! I made a 10am appointment. I got here at 9:40am and the guy said it might take longer (about 40 min) because they are short staffed anf people are just coming in. At 11:20am I notice my car wasn't taken in yet so I complained and they took it in. They said it would take 30 to 40 min after that. It's been one hour and they just said it's going to be another 15 to 20 min because they just realized they don't have the filter in stock and they are getting it from autozone. It took them over 1 hour to realize they don't have the filter.As an apology the guy said he was going to give me an extra $10 off.. but i don't think he did.Also, they said I need new tires and they can order me a lyft. So after making me wait over 2hrs they offer a lyft? Why didn't they do it earlier?! They are crazy if they think I'm going to get additional services from them! It took them 3.5 hrs to do an oil change!!I specifically asked them to check the tire pressure because the light was on. When I got the report it said there were no lights on. But when I got my car, the tire pressure light was still on. It was not worth going back to complain. I rather go somewhere else.

Went there with a Toyota Yaris. Needed 4 new tires, alignment and of course a balance. Labor Day weekend I was there thursday night. Soon as I turned it on shaking like crazy. Went back in. Wanted me to see head mechanic but not til morning. Advised I dont need a mechanic. Just came in for 4 tires for good measure. Finally looked at car and realized new battery wasnt working out. Took old one and put it back in. Car seems fine. Oh brother. Next day shaking like crazy at 60 miles per hr.on the dot. Again they think I need head mechanic. Again inform them I dont need a mechanic. The car was fine. Its something you guys did. Long story (and I mean long), short I was there thursday friday saturday sunday and monday. (The whole holiday shot over new tires) 5 days later after balancing and rebalancing and urbering me back n forth every single morning for 5 days.. its 2 bent rims. It was absolutely a disaster. They gave me a lot of excuses about the guys not knowing anything etc. Please. It was just 2 bent rims. Took you 5 days to tell me. I didnt want to give a bad review. Begged corporate to rectify this in some way but never did. Dont go here. When i commented that "they r a tire place!" He said "no we're not". When you look up PEP BOYS it says "the tire shop". So there you go. If you want drama and excuses and answers such as that, go straight to PEP BOYS. Went to Rayco Rims in Little Ferry. Excellent!

It was great- went in for an oil change without an appointment and even though there were 2 appointments ahead of me it wasn't bad because I had time. The exact approximate time the man suggested was correct. An hour and a half and I used the time to go to Lowes and sit in a comfortable chair lol

Terrible! In the last few months I have spent over 5k at Pepboys and they haven't rendered quality service. The guys are very cool but this is unacceptable for someone spending money. I bought a battery that doesn't start and changed a whole front end for $2500 that was NEVER fixed and now both of my cars are back here just sitting. AFTER MY CARS ARE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE, I will never be back.

I ordered Michelin Defender 2 Tires with 75,000 tread wear and free installation. I was called after dropping my car off that they only had 2 of the Michelin tires and offered Cooper Adventurer tires with 55,000 tread wear but I had to pay the installation fee. In summary, I received much cheaper tires than the tires originally ordered for nearly the same price as the much better tires with free installation.Ironically, I read a review on the Cooper Adventurer tires on the Pep Boys website and the same exact thing happened to another customer. Coincidence? What do you think? I gave 3 stars because the installation of the tires was much better than the last time I used Pep Boys.

I spent almost 3 hours getting a battery replaced. I told them the problem was right at the front desk when I pulled in. They wasted so much time doing brake check and tire check. Kept saying they're busy but really they're just incredibly slow. I was watching from the window. Car was just sitting there. No excuse for taking this long for a battery. I spent the better part of my Saturday there. Service advisor should have told me it was going to be hours to get a battery replaced. I would have turned right out the door and come back another time. When I complained he kept saying it'll be a couple more minutes. It ended up being over 90 minutes longer.

The team at Pep Boys did a phenomenal job taking care of my car. I needed major repairs, and they walked me through the entire process. Each time a new technician started on my car, I was given a call. Each time a different issue was discovered, I was given a call. Pep Boys kept me in the loop the entire time, and I truly felt taken care of. Because of the amount of money required for my repair, I was given a discount that honestly made a huge difference (about $250 off of a $1,000+ service). I didn't feel taken advantage of, and the price for the services felt reasonable and comparable to a local mechanic. Would definitely return!

I ve been to this pepboys before & have had my fair share of complaints. But that is in the past. Today, I called in ahead to check if they do rotor resurfacing (they do) after being told by a local mechanic that no one does that anymore . I was on hold for a decent amount of time but didn t care because I was able to toast some waffles while I was on hold. The man who answered was kind & informative and did not make me feel rushed, despite them probably being busy with morning drop-offs. So, I brought my car in the same day. I needed like 4 different things done and they all got done SAME DAY. The diagnostic explanation was thorough and everything painless. They even helped work with my budget when picking new tires (I went in with a flat, amongst other problems). I know some people may have had bad experiences in the past, but take my word for it and give them another try. The team who handled my services today was top notch. I ll definitely return.
