Beware this campground has ZERO package or mail service. Very inconvenient, I'm staying here for two weeks for a business trip and cannot get anything delivered to me. I can't even get my trailer registration mailed to me here. I will be rethinking if I even want to continue my Thousand Trails Membership. Also be sure to ask for explanation of the map... they had you a map and you just have to drive around looking for an available spot - no escort or direction given... not great when you are pulling a camper or driving an RV. It is a beautiful property and good large sites just wish the customer service wasa bit better...

This is my 3rd time to lake and shore my last two experiences where ok . We like the campground but the staff needs improvement. I was told they are doing propane refills one day then the next day they diss no refills till April 15 then I was told that we can store our camper on the property and once again told we could not after we had planned on doing so and had to figure out what to do with our camper this is a big problem. I m not sure if it s the early season bugs that have to be worked out but it s not rocket science. I feel it s laziness. It saddens me because I do like this place. And one more thing is the main road it s 5 miles a hour and people drive so fast I am scared for all the kids riding their bikes around the campground it s not safe.

If I could give NEGATIVE STARS I definitely would!Who is giving this place good reviews? Worst campground EVER! We've crossed the country staying in TT parks. This one is awful and it's mostly because of the rude staff! These people are awful. When you walk in to register...you will ruin their day and they'll let you know. Don't get packages sent there...they'll send them back and be extremely smug about it. Is this a New Jersey thing???? If so....then hire people that don't live here. I have such a bad taste in my mouth now for TT. Reconsidering our membership for sure! I'll pay much more at another park to be treated with kindness and respect!!!

Had a nice stay. RV spots are large, but felt like we were in a sandy parking lot. Could definitely use some maintenance in the shower/restroom. Might not hurt to have some people that spend more the 5 minutes supposedly cleaning the shower house. Also don t accidentally have a package sent there. There office staff informed they DON T want anyone packages sent to their office. Must be to busy or something to put some packages in a corner like every other campground does. Good thing there are more campgrounds in that area. If we are ever back in the area, I will try a different 1000 trails. To bad staff made it such an unsatisfying stay, would be a very nice place if the Staff was helpful or at least motivated.

My sister-in-law has a place down there and it is beautiful down there. We have so much fun right now even though I don t have any children I love it because there s so many things that the children can do especially around the holidays for instants for Fourth of July. we tie-dyed the T-shirts in the pool is beautiful and so is the lake and I can t forget the bingo on Friday night for the adults are so much funWalkability: So close

Spent a week here after recently checking out of Sea Pines. The only good thing about this campground is the water park/pool. The staff are all rude, lifeguards are looking for any reason not to open, the cafe staff are some of the laziest and most ignorant kids I have ever encountered. They put signs up saying Wi-Fi is down just so they don t have to run a credit card. I know this because I heard the girl say it when asked if they took card. They claim to be out of more things than they have but aren t willing to post it. The security only stalks transient campers. Seasonal campers can do absolutely anything they want at whatever time they want to. People fly through the campground in vehicles and golf carts but again no one says anything, I honestly think they are scared of them. Seasonal campers riding electric quads and dirtbikes but my Son couldn t ride his scooter at the allowed 5mph. The quiet hour is also not enforced at all. Golf carts riding around doing 20+ mph with full stereo and speakers at 12,1,2am. They also pile on more people to each cart than remotely fit. The bath houses were overflowing on Sunday morning. Not only with feces but toilet paper rolls empty and used paper all over the facilities. We were more than happy to leave and head back to Sea Pines, where the staff treat you like a person and don t discriminate against a specific race of people.Safety: A joke.Food & drinks: Awful.

The cabin I stayed in was nice but pretty small and the lofts were kind of cramped. The pool was great though and so was the lake. There were tons of amenities, but the cabin did not provide towels or blankets which was a hassle.Nearby activities: It s a quick drive to sea isle city beach which is very pretty.

We loved this campground. Was it perfect? No. But we found little to actually complain about. Our cabin was immaculate and in great condition. Everyone who passed us greeted us with a smile and wave, which was nice. The water park was not opened the entire time we were here, but we also know it s a staffing issue, which is beyond anyone s control when you are in a beach town that relies on college kids and it is the end of the season. But I am giving 5 stars because the staff were all so nice. At check in I expressed some concerns that I had read about on Google reviews. I honestly anticipated that the staff would respond with attitude based off of reviews and I found it to be the exact opposite. They genuinely listened and even went so far as to call housekeeping (who was cleaning it when we arrived) and confirm our cabin had no issue. Tammy, who works the front desk is an absolute sweetheart. She really made us feel like our concerns were heard and made sure we were satisfied, even asking us the next day when she saw us if everything was up to par, when she could have pretended like she didn t see us and drove right by. There was another lady, in the office who also was incredibly nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had no complaints, who also saw us at a later date and made sure to ask if we were happy with our cabin. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the staff is what made us feel like this is a place we gladly would visit again

found bed bugs in our cabin the night we checked in and had to drive home in the middle of the night since the ranger on duty was no where to be found. the cabin itself was spot cleaned but not clean enough to want to stay in for a week. called the front desk several times and was told the manager would call me back but never did. finally my dad spoke to someone in person who offered me another cabin but i would not want to risk another dirty cabin or bed bugs so i declined.

Location is nice close proximity to local beaches. Large lake with some amenities. Large pool, when I've been the the Waterpark side mostly closed, some was out of season, some I was told was lack of employees/lifeguards to staff it. So disappointing because my some likely outgrew it at this point. The Waterpark feature is more geared toward younger children. Parking for transients (non seasonals) is relatively easy and they are grouped together. Sites are level not too many trees but some. Parking an rv is fairly easy. Transients have septic hook ups so that's nice. I didn't need much service beyond checking in, they were polite and helpful

We had heard good things about Lake & Shore so we were excited to try it out. Sadly our cabin is filthy. I understand a cabin is a cabin, but it still can be cleaned. I had to mop the floor with their dirty mop found in a closet and then wash it on my hands and knees just to put my baby down to crawl. The wash water was disgusting even after the second time. There were dirty bowls in the cupboard and a sticky bannister leading to the loft. The tiny bedroom is missing a screen on the window so it could not be opened due to mosquitos and the air conditioning did not kick on. Thankfully we brought a fan and used it to get some air flow. They are not very busy right now, being off season, so I don t know why the cabin was not cleaned and ready for guests. The dirt on the floor seems to be built up so it must not be a cleaning requirement. I would recommend using your cabin voucher or spending your money elsewhere. Definitely disappointed.

For what they charge a night to rent a cabin is crazy. We rented a cabin that sleeps up to eight. The futon mattress was horrible it was so flat it was like sleeping on the rails. In the bunk room where they had a full on the bottom and twin up top. The full was a mattress pad on top of a piece of board it was like sleeping on the floor. The ladder for the top bunk was barely hanging on. We couldn't hang out towels to dry in the bathroom because the towel rack would fall off the wall. In the kitchen the microwave that was over the stove did not work so instead of fixing it they put another on the counter so there was no counter space. None of the exhaust fans were working so when we were cooking or blow drying our hair the smoke alarm kept ringing. We've been visiting this place for over 20 yrs and every year it gets worse. They have made upgrades but not enough to charge over $250.00 a night

So Lake and Shore is a little tough for scoring and I d say 3.5 for us. Some good some bad. Would we go again? Yeah, I think so, but not before we d try other Thousand Trails in the region. What I liked about this campsite was all the water activities. Mom of eight here (with eight to ten camping, usually). Water activities are a must for kiddos. I ll start with the lake. It s nice, shallow entry which is great for keeping littles safe. A nice beach and chairs for lounging are a plus. The small playground on the beach is an eye catcher for the children. The pool is a good size and on the weekdays it s open until 9 which i haven t seen much before so that was a bonus. The water park leaves a little to be desired. The slides are slow moving and because they were short staffed during our stay they closed it fairly early. My kids enjoyed it for about 30-45 minutes and then weren t interested for the remainder of our stay preferring the pool and lake. For TT members there s a nice gym. Also Location is in close proximity to Sea Isle beach. About a ten minute drive and your staring at the Atlantic. Cons: First, extremely rude employee working the equipment rental shack. The rentals are free to members. The woman working there told us we could rent kayaks until 530 and use them until 6. We arrived at 510 the next day to rent some paddle boards and kayaks but she said we couldn t bc they closed at 530. When we reminded her we spoke to her just the day before when she gave us different information she shrugged her shoulders , like whatever , stared at her phone and just kept scrolling like we weren t there. I told her she was being rude. My husband reported the rudeness. Didn t seem like anything would be done. So that was annoying as it was our last day but first opportunity and we d hoped to use the rentals. Plus, It s one thing to give wrong info out of error and say hey I m sorry my bad I gave you the wrong info. But to totally blow us off and just act like we were pestering her while she scrolled through social media or whatever she was doing that was so important is, we ll, just plain rude. Strike 1 for poor service! The pool side bathroom shower was absolutely gross. Like, I get it, bathrooms and shower stalls get wet but this wasn t just that. They were dirty. There was a half eaten soggy sandwich thrown on the shower floor, as well as other dirt and debris. Strike 2 for cleanliness of bath house. The water on the site had a weird odor that we all (in my party) noticed. Even if you let the water rub a bit first it never got better. It left our hair and skin smelling very metallic and it was unpleasant and a little alarming. We don t use water at campgrounds for consumption (ever) but this water I didn t even want to wash in. Strike 3 for water. Finally, people played their music loudly at their sites without a care for whether others enjoyed their musical repertoire. It got to be a little noisy and annoying. All in all I can see Lake and Shore being a place families would like to stay because of closeness to the shore and the pool/lake on site. If you could overlook a rude employee here and there, not so clean bathhouses and some loud music you probably would enjoy it for the other things they offer. I will say this, they kept quiet hours quiet and we had no trouble falling asleep after all the swimming.

Place needs better understanding on how to run a buisness. Bed bugs in cabins, Pool water is over chlorinated. The lifeguards act like there management when in reality they are a group of teenagers and just staff. The "security" is disrespectful and will try to fight guest. Stay away from this place. Thousand trials should remove them. If this place wants to know more on how to make a safe and fun environment for guest please start with your staff and make them accountable for there actions. This place has gone down hill. Been here multiple times in 5 years and this year is by far my last.

We stayed here 5/22/22-6/12/22. After a year and a half on the road, this was one of our favorite campgrounds.Upsides:There is literally a lake with a beach. It seems like they clean and smooth the beach every morning. The lake water was warm. Bret swam in it multiple times. Our friends went fishing and caught some small fish. On the weekends, during that season, there was also a bounce house by the beach. There is a nice path that goes around the lake, probably about 3/4 of a mile long. There are also lots of interconnecting trails in the woods. They also have a nice pool area, and the pool is large. They also have a gym. If you know Bret, you know he likes to work out. He says it was one of the nicer campground gyms that he has seen, which included elliptical machines, a few weight machines, and dumbbells that went up to 30 pounds. They have a couple other regular things such as a store and library. The sites are large and clean. Ours was mostly dirt. Trees were spread out enough and pruned, so they weren t a problem.Internet was amazing with our cell phones on Verizon, and our hotspots on Cricket & T-Mobile. It was probably THE best internet we've had on the road.Downsides:There were a couple of times that we went to the gym or store and they were closed, during their regular hours. The children s water park which is separate from the regular pool, was closed when we were there, which included over Memorial Day weekend. It was supposed to reopen at that time like most places, but it never did, at least while we were there. That was a bummer because it was one of the main reasons we went there. The regular pool area and lake were still open though.Horseflies - There are places around the park, especially on the path around the lake, unfortunately, where the horseflies can be relentless. All together it was one of the best campgrounds, if not THE best, that we ve been to. We would definitely stay there again. While you're in the area, go check out the Cape May Zoo!

This place after checking it out and meeting the property manager deserves a zero star review. I never write reviews but this experience should be heard. I called to inquire about a seasonal site I was informed there was two spots available, I went to tour the grounds and liked itI asked a few questions and1. The management staff told me there will be staffing issues for the water park (the water park is nothing special) / pool area ($7200 for a season is a lot if you can t staff the park)2. I still was interested and moved forward with a background check application (I m a real estate agent my back ground is clean ) . I got a call a few days later and was told the site is rented to someone else3. I asked about the second site and yup you guessed it the site was rented to someone elseWhat was the motive here I m not sure at all however the manager Erica seems shadyBeware and make sure you like the place and the people before you commit $7200.00The campground right next door is a few thousand less and the only difference is the water park that doesn t have people to run it!

Such a great place to relax with the the whole family. The pool is decently sized, and so is the mini water park. Just wish the person manning the kayak check out actually let us check one out. Not sure why you're there if you can't let anyone check them out.

This RV campground was nice. It meets my family's standard as a campground. It has full hook up and enough restrooms and dumpsters. However it can get messy with the unfinished grounds full of dirt and sand. They have a nice park with slides for children. There's also a small water park but it was closed when I was there. Love the Halloween decorations too! I also highly recommend visiting the zoo nearby that's about 15 minutes away.

This year is now the 3rd year we've spent a week at Lake and Shore. There's plenty to love and some things that could certainly be better, however altogether a 4 star rating is accurate. Everything was wonderful until our last 2 families came. Sites were confirmed a year prior and once they arrived, random sites given. We had so many kids coming and to not have sites next to each other was not part of th e plan. All of our receipts from payme t confirmed us being next to each other.Otherwise, this year (2022) entailed many more people employed and things to do on site. Beach, pool and Waterpark were open. We had a blast. We biked the trail, enjoyed the larger campsites, and traveled to and from local amenities. Wildwood is a 25 minute drive and Acme is 5 mins away. Bring bedding and linens, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, food, wood for fire, hair dryer... If you have everything, you'll be set. Shower water is light but gets nice and warm. Fire puts have grille for cooking. We made lots of friends and memories.

Love it! Great family campground . Very clean and fun stuff to do! They have everything. A laundry mat, little country store, and updated bathhouses! Safe and fun for everyone! Is also very safe with nice sized lots and hookups for all your needs. Will definitely recommend! Thank you for reading my post

Stayed here for a week in a rental cabin. Cabin was OK but in need of some repair - floor want level any more back door not fitting in jam correctly front door almost impossible to open/close. But other than that was a nice cabinCalled to see what was needed and was told linens weren't included so we brought blankets and pillows and sheets....... cabin already had all of this. So staff should figure out what is our isn't included.Park itself is a little run down and now mostly permanent sites (only about 30 transient sites remain of the over 500 sites they once had). Some sites have been eliminated to enlarge permanent sites. But mostly it just needs allot of little things. The lake, pool, and splash pad area were great. But being short on staff stuff was not always open all the time. The indoor play area wasn't open at all. And they rotated slides since they didn't have enough attendants to have them all open.Adult lounge was in ok shape, pool table needs redone but usable. Shuffleboard table needs rosin. Tvs on wall don't work, roof leaks. But again it's not horrible.Staff was friendly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Rec center girl came in on her day of to get us equipment because she heard the kids wanted to play (she was in the store when they asked about it).Store is a nice little place with some of the necessities you need but it's a camp store so don't expect a full lineup. All in all is come back as we enjoyed our stay. But i hope thousand trails starts putting money back into the park

My only complaint is the handicapped bathroom was ridiculously hot, thick, still air, and gave me a minor asthma attack, resulting in small panic attack becauseI had trouble catching my breath. Other resorts we have visited and stayed at had a fan blowing towards toilet stalls to create air flow that makes a huge difference if any breathing/lung issues. Handicapped shower stall didn't have the hand held shower wand most have that most do. I managed fine myself, just made me think of some that would need it. :-)

This is our favorite campground to go to. Very family friendly and clean. I love that all the sites are three point (water, sewer and electric). The staff are very friendly and you quickly build friendships. We have formed some wonderful friendships with other campers as well. The sites are a nice size, some larger than others. The handicapped sites require you to pre-register for them, to assure they are available for those who need them. The campground is far enough off the road that you don't hear any traffic. The campground is gated for security. There is a gameroom, store, beach, pool, and hot tub. There is also a great water park for the kids! There is mini golf, fishing (catch and release), trails to walk on and boating. The campground is also located near stores and tourist attractions, allowing for numerous day trips. This is truly a great campground!
