Today I got a flat tire on our last day of vacation and needed it repaired to go home. The guys were great. They looked at it right away, repaired it for a reasonable price. If you need auto repair on the island I highly recommend.Service: TiresService: Tires

Brakes were rubbing, pulling and making noise. Took to island auto and got told no action was needed and got charged $91.90. The noise and pulling continued and we were concerned with safety so we went to the manufacturer dealer and were told the brakes and rotors needed replacing. After the replacement, the noise, rubbing and pulling ceased. Island auto refused to refund their charge stating the the dealer was probably selling me something we did not need and because we did not immediately tell them we still had problems (why would we go back there again since they not recommend any action be taken the first time). So we are out the almost $100. They missed what was surely a safety concern and seemingly were more concerned with keeping what we paid them than their customer s well being, let alone satisfaction.Service: Brakes

The weather was horrible- poring rain on a Friday!I stopped here after the usual places I know where not able to accommodate.Really nice low key guy who did what he could on the spot without an appointment & at reasonable price. Thank you for accommodating me!!

Drive to Ocean City for vacation. Engine light and issue started on the way down. Called John Monday AM and had the car back by Monday afternoon. Service was exceptional. John is k owledgeable and fair. He didn't do anything I didn't need to drive safely back home. Price was great!!! I could not have asked for a better experience. This is the absolute best place to go for auto needs! They are honest, kind and take care of you. I got brand new tires elsewhere and one was already leaking. Tyler found the problem which was a leaking valve stem and within 10 minutes took care of it. He showed me what to look for and to follow up with my dealer at home who should have replaced them to begin with.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Good. Honest. Reasonable. What more can you ask of an auto mechanic? And yet those people are so hard to find. We had a disabled car in Ocean City. A mile away was Island Auto. John was super nice on the phone and we felt comfortable having the car towed there on Saturday. Monday he had the car repaired ( a new alternator) and ready to go. If John wasn't 90 miles away from home, he would be my mechanic. We highly recommend this business!!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

John was great, super friendly, and did a great job on my Jeep at a fair price. Full transparency and explanation on what was needed made me feel comfortable about the whole process. Will definitely use them again when needed.

They gave me a quote and then charged more then double the original quoted price. The explanation I was given was "that's the price you pay for getting your car repaired in a resort town". Who does business like that? Do yourself a favor and go to an honest shop with integrity. BTW: They were also very condescending and rude.

I came down to OCNJ on vacation on Monday June 6th. On my way down the Atlantic City Expressway I hit something in the road that hit the underside of my car quite hard. I thought I might have damage to the car. The next morning I called Island Auto Repair and my experience could not have been better. They were friendly, helpful and since I was on vacation they got to my car a quickly as they possibly could. They had told me it might be at least a day before they'd have a chance to look at it, but they fit me in in less than 6 hours and I had it back by the afternoon. Can not express how impressed I was by the gentlemen at this place. I feel great knowing they're around if I should ever have an auto issue on future vacations.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Island Auto came through for me when my car broke down unexpectedly while in town for the weekend. They were friendly, helpful, communicative and timely. Very trustworthy and super reasonably priced. I ve used a island Motors since they opened ( turn of this century?). I have an old Honda that we only use seasonally. We normally drive very few miles. So, I m always looking to keep it reliable and safe without spending new car maintenance money.In the latest instance, I had a drive belt that slipped because it overheated.The overheating was apparently due to a water pump pulley that had some corrosion on its surface. The dealer told me that in order to solve the problem, I had to replace the water pump .What? There wasn t anything wrong with the water pump.So, I brought the problem to Island Motors. As usual, they solved it by using know-how and craftsmanship. They grinded the corrosion off the pulley. It cost a tiny fraction of the dealer s new water pump solution.Island Motors is typically unsightly because of parked cars, tires etc. Don t let that put you off. These guys are down-home pros and very honest.Thank you so much, John, Tyler and crew at a Island motors!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Let's take a moment to talk about the best experience I ever had at an auto repair shop. I was on vacation in Ocean City, four hours from my home. And my car needed help. What to do?!?! I called the closest place I could find: Island Auto Repair. The friendliest, most helpful guy answered the phone: Tyler. Told me to come on over, no problem. Met me as soon as I arrived. Got straight to work. Explained everything that needed to be done. Friendly and clear. Knowledgeable and efficient. I really didn't have to wait very long. And as a courtesy after the repair, he checked and filled my tire pressure. I left this place feeling like a happier version of myself. Seriously. I almost hope that next time I come to Ocean City, I have car trouble, just so I can once again have the opportunity to experience what optimal auto repair and superior customer service feel like. Thank you Tyler! And bravo to Island Auto Repair.

Fantastic and easy to work with team! They keep you well informed about where you're at in the repair process. They have not tried to charge me for more than what is needed and have even been able to save me money with smart choices. Very happy to find such an honest and helpful repair shop close to home. I would recommend them for all of your auto repair needs.

John and Tyler are fantastic mechanics. The nicest thing about them is trust. When I walk in there, they are compassionate and reasonably priced. I've never met a repair facility that I felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of. These guys make sure that when you walk in the door that they will have you taken care of. Thanks John, Tyler and Lenny for being there for me in my worst situations.

The guys at Island Auto are the best. They can fix anything and they are nice guys too. John, Greg, Tyler and the others are fantastic. Honest and trustworthy. Always!

Everyone at Island Auto goes out of their way to help their customers. Each time i called with a car emergency they helped me and quickly diagnosed and repaired my car. I had two sick parents that I was caring for at the time they worked on my car and they were professional. kind and went out of their way for me. I highly recommend Island Auto!!!

I was in OC on vacation and thought I possibly needed new ball joints. I was concerned as I live in ME and would be driving home in a few days. They took a look at my van and told me that I just had a warped brake rotor. They easily could've lied and said that I did need ball joints, which would've meant a costly repair. I really appreciate their honesty! Honest mechanics seem to be few and far between nowadays, especially in ME.

One of the best shop experiences I've ever had. Got me in and out in under 24 hours, and was very helpful all around with my situation. John especially was very helpful and a pleasant person to be around. I'd recommend them to anybody.

The owner, John, may possibly be the nicest mechanic I've met, as well as the staff. Everyone is friendly and professional here. By far the best mechanics in Cape May county, New Jersey. Even though I've moved to the west coast, I miss having Lenny and his team available if anything went wrong with my Pontiac Vibe. They were always fair, reasonably priced, and for someone who doesn't know much about cars, they were always honest with me about what needed to be done. They even installed my stereo system! Miss you guys but my license plate holder still reads Island Auto!

Found a nail in tire on way out of ocean city. Found Island Auto repair, they plugged hole in matter of minutes, were extremely friendly, great price! Highly recommend, especially if you find yourself with an unexpected flat!

Great guys...my truck was overheating and it's always unnerving going to a mechanic you don't know. They made me feel comfortable and it ending up only being a bad radiator cap. Would recommend to anyone in need of a mechanic while at the shore.

Good place to get car fixed. Honest and fair price. They have 2 bays. One bay is for short jobs, the other is for longer jobs. You may have to leave your car overnight but like I said, honest and fair price...pick your poison!

I would give 10 stars if I could. We pulled into town and the air compressor blew. They ordered the part and worked on it stat. They knew we had only 1 day and a plane to catch. Great job guys and thank you!!

They service and care for all our vehicles. We have been using Island Auto since they opened their doors. You truly will feel at ease leaving them you take care of your problems and routine maintenance.

my 1999 saab needed a thermostat. I showed up on their doorstep on a very crowded hot summer Saturday at 8:30 am. with no appointment. I was fixed and on the road home by noon. they were very professional and accommodating. Although my vacation cost me an extra 200.00,I am so glad they were there for me.

Great service! My rear wheel / brake was screeching very loudly. They were able to get me in and the issue worked on the same day. Everyone was very friendly and they got me back on the road in no time!
