Our 2008 Jeep Liberty needed transmission work, muffler and a/c repair. I was in a jam and too busy to think about visiting dealerships. After reading reviews of transmission shops in the area, I called Tito s Transmissions, even though it was nearly a half hour drive to Newark. Tito and his mechanics did not disappoint, as they rebuilt the trans and installed the muffler within 3 days as promised. I can now relax as the car runs smooth and purrs like a kitten. Took my 2005 Acura TL for a transmission rebuild since my transmission was completely shot. Tito performed a miracle and brought my car back to life and now it sounds and drives better than ever. Definitely would recommend him to anyone who is having transmission problems. He also offers 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty and fixes other things as well. Please don't hesitate to take your car here if you feel like you are having transmission problems. He is the best!!

After researching what was the best transmission shop in the area the reviews made me pick Tito s and I m so glad I did. Problem was diagnosed as an issue with the valve body and Tito walked me through all the possible outcomes with such an issue. Tito and his employees were very thorough with the diagnosis and was very kind/helpful. I came with the part and the car was fixed/running like new in less than 3 hours. Tito gave excellent service, and as quick as possible of a turnaround time since my car broke down while on a business trip. Had electrical problems with my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. Headlights wouldn t come on, wouldn t go into gear, couldn t get a passing gear. it was a bit expensive but Tito called after having my car for one day and said you can come pick up your car! It s been 2 days and my car runs well and all things are working just fine!

I took my 2007 lexus GS 350 to Tito for a complete transmission rebuild, and for some engine work. He was very knowledgeable, he knows his stuff and nice. The price was so very reasonable compared to the 6 other places that I visited. Tito delivered exactly on time as promised, and my car is running as brand new. This is the place to fix your transmission! Tito the owner was professional and explained to me in detail what my Jeep Grand Cherokee needed. My transmission was completely rebuilt and over hauled. I was researching for an above average transmission shop to bring my 2005 Jeep Wrangler to, transmission and oil leaks from multiple locations. I wanted it fixed and fixed correctly, I love my jeep what can I say,After asking around and searching online I found Titos Transmission shop. I called him on a Thursday told him briefly what was going on, I told him I ll drop it off Saturday morning, Monday morning he looked over it thoroughly, he told me exactly where the problems were,what needs to be done to fix it and exactly how much it would cost to fix. Tito asked me for authorization to begin working on it, my answer was absolutely yes because I picked up the vibe 2 times talking to Tito, once on phone 2nd time in person that he s the real deal Proffessinal I need working on my jeep. Wednesday morning came and Tito called me and said I can pick up my jeep it s fixed and leaking absolutely nothing,changed some transmission lines and gaskets and a couple other things. I went back to his shop Wednesday evening and picked it up. I have to admit I was a little skeptical thinking the jeep is over 15 years old and has to be leaking from somewhere. Let me tell you,it s not. I highly recommend Tito and his shop. He definitely gained my trust and a loyal customer. Had my transmission, brakes with rotors and starter replaced on my Honda Accord... They do excellent work, very professional and gets it done in a timely manner. In February of 2021 I went to my Lexus dealership because the transmission was slipping in 2nd gear on my 2011 Lexus RX350. I was told my transmission was failing and that it would cost $8000 to replace it. No way I was paying that. I went to Tito's and paid less than half of that amount for a transmission rebuild. Tito is a great guy and he worked on the car until the slipping issue was fixed. It is now a year later and the car still runs good as new.Service: Transmission

Tito's performed a transmission fluid replacement on my van. The price was fair and the service was fast.However, they told me to fix the leak the transmission needed to be completely rebuilt.I got a second opinion in Brooklyn and it turned out the leak was from a hose. It got fixed for $100.This is a big detail to overlook, hence the rating.Service: Transmission

Tito's fixed my transmission for $260.00 while 2 other mechanics wanted to just replace the transmission with an old used one for $1,800.00.Tito took the time to diagnose and fix the problem without trying to push me into repairs that were not needed.Tito served me but entire staff was very nice. From the mechanics to the secretary. Clean shop. Honest service.I highly recommend this establishment.

I called Tito s Transmission after getting outrageous pricing from transmission shops in east Stroudsburg Pa which is 55 miles away from Newark Nj. Tito gave me a great price, I drove to his shop and spoke with him in person. After discussing my transmission problem on my 2016 Chevy impala I had the car towed within hours from Pa to Nj. Within a week my car was repaired and it s running like a brand new car!Salute to Tito and his employees, they are a class act!Service: Transmission

Tito was a gentleman from start to finish. He diagnosed and rebuilt my transmission (Ford Explorer) in 2 days!!! So service is excellent in my opinion. I hope I never need car repair again haha, but if I do, I know who I will be going to for help.

Amazing job done by Tito! I went to a couple shops in the Ironbound quoting me -2.5k to 3k on fixing my transmission. I looked around online and saw Tito's amazing reviews here so I took my BMW to his shop and fixed it for a great price. (1800) all done in less than 2 days. Highly recommended ! Thanks Tito !!

If you have a failing transmission and you want the job done properly, please take your car to Tito. Tito and his team are the best in NJ; price and experience with rebuilds. I have 2 used Hondas and the transmissions have failed because Civics/Accords/Odyssey's (Years 1998-2007; includes Acura's) have defective Valves inside the transmission that get stuck in the closed position, which causes slipping, torque converter shudder, and eventually, transmission failure. The only resolution is to rebuild the transmission, and install and "4/5 speed shift kit" and heavy duty torque converter. Before going to Tito, I changed the trans fluid in my car Faithfully with AMSOIL OE Multi-Vehicle Synthetic ATF trans fluid every 10k due to Honda transmissions being weak from the factory. Transmission still failed. My suggestion is go with a manual transmission for Honda's 98-07. But if you love your older Honda's and have the resources to rebuild your transmission, this is the place to, hands down!

Great knowledgeable mechanic.Came here after my transmission on my Infiniti kept slipping. Took it to the dealership and got the usual run around. He worked with my warranty (they have a lengthy process) and had my transmission up and running and also notified me my valve body was bad.I can't wait for the summer to finally enjoy my car again.Thank Tito

If the rate was more than 5 stars I would give a 10. I have a 2004 VW toraueg, not an easy SUV to work on. I had my trans rebuilt and control arms replaced. The respect Tito and Howard showed made me feel so comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend Tito's for all your car needs. Tito's stands by his work 100%. Very Very satisfied with his work. I can go on but you will have to see for yourself and i ppromise you, you won't be disappointed.

I know tito long time and I can certify that I have received good service. Tito always solved problems in my car and I never had any difficulty with him. He is a great person always willing to help the client and he is very responsible. I strongly recommend Titos.

Very pricey, doesn't listen to his customers well. I went to have one thing fixed and he fixed something else. When I inquired about the original issues after payment. With intent to pay him for more work. He replied"Not my problem". I decided to keep my money and find another shop.

I highly recommend Tito's Transmission. My 2002 VW Jetta was acting up and couple places told me it was the transmission and that I needed it a new one so before I gave up on my baby I took it to Tito and he saved it, it was not the transmission it was something totally different, he was honest and the price was very reasonable. Thank you so much for your help!!!

I have been going to Tito s for over 10 years and thru those years I ve had 4 cars and he has never failed or given me false information. Always given me a fair price with warranty. I ve gotten my oil changed, AC compressor changed, tune up etc. I m ecstatic with the service and will continue to refer future customers to his shop.
