Part 1I had work done on two vehicles at this so called repair shop and I wasn't satisfied with the work done on either vehicle. First was my Mercedes Benz C300 4Matic (purchased new but out of warranty). With only about 30K miles on the odometer, there was a strange noise coming from the transmission. I was told by the dealer that the transfer case (which for this car is in the transmission) was defective. I called around and I found Gino at TRM Transmission who told me he can rebuild the transfer case for about $3.5K. I had the car towed to his shop. I had to return multiple times before he could fix the problem. Gino claimed he fixed it the first time only to find out that the transmission leaked because he (that s his story) forgot to replace a copper washer for the drain plug. However, a few days after I got the car back, it was making the same noise as before (the original problem!). He kept the car for over two weeks plus. I suspect he didn't replace the parts in the transfer case as promised hoping that he would got away with it. When I got the car back the third time, it worked ok (except when I go above 25 MPH, it made a ticking sound) and l would ran into a bigger problem. I was in the process of relocating to GA so I drove the car from NY to GA. A few days later, I drove the car to my insurance agent. The parking space was on an incline of about 40 degs. When I was about to leave, I couldn't shift the car into ANY gear. The shifter just moved freely with no resistance. The car kept rolling backwards. I had the car towed to my home. I jacked up the car to see if I could find out what the issue was. To my surprise, they left out a small clip that attached the gear shifter to the linkage on the transmission. How negligent!! I'm so lucky that didn't happen while I was in transit. I purchased a clip from the dealer and installed it. All is well, no thanks to Gino (who acts like a nice guy). The transmission works but that ticking sound that started after the third visit is still there.Part llI had my Jeep Grand Cherokee fixed there also. He fixed multiple issues it had. Actually, I told him to fix two or three issues for me (among them a transmission fluid leak). He took the liberty to go through the vehicle looking for everything tittle thing he could find to make more money (including the radio which declined). A couple days after I got the Jeep back, I checked the transmission fluid level. It was WAY over what it was supposed to be and the muffler was making a knocking sound every time I stopped at a light. I drove back there a few days later. When got to the shop, I called inside and he told me one of his employees would come out to hear the noise. After about 10 minutes, no one came out. I called inside again and no one answered. I went inside and Gino is in there doing nothing and he practically ignores me. He sent Scott out to see if he hears the noise. Scott said he heard the noise but he didn t know the source. Gino took the Jeep back in and checked the transmission fluid level and the noise. He removed the excess fluid but still couldn t find the source of the noise. He told me (listen to this), if the noise gets louder, come back. A couple of days after I got back home, I checked the transmission fluid level. I noticed the fluid level was too LOW!! He took too much fluid out !! How useless are they guys. And oh, to this day, the Mercedes works fine but still makes that ticking noise every time I go past 25 MPH. The Jeep is the same story, knocking sounds persist.I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!PS: I see there are some glowing reviews probably from friends, family and employees. This review is about the experience I had dealing with Gino and crew and it is irrefutable!

Gino did all the right things, mostly fixed Mom's car! Diagnosed it perfectly, and boy does it run great now! Best to spend some money getting fixed, no used cars available for the price I paid. A truly fair and square shop!!! If my other cars need work I will definitely go back!

Over the past 5+years I have found TRM to be an honest and trusted automotive repair facility. Gino, the owner, provides excellent customer service, and addresses the customer needs without up-selling additional unnecessary services. In summary, a good old fashioned neighborhood mechanic that is honest, and technically capable for all vehicles and types of service.

This review is necessary as part two to a transmission dilemna having occurred in Truckee, CA. Following a tow to Sparks, NV and having a factory rebuild shipped to Scotty's Transmission, the car still had difficulties shifting, but I managed to drive it back to New Jersey because it drove fine at highway speed. Brought it to TRM as part of the part's warranty and they, Gino specifically, were very courteous. They ordered another part from Milwaukee and after receiving it, had the work done in a day. My car finally runs much better. Thanks TRM.
