I should have listened to other people's reviews... My rental was a dirty beat up car, with crumbs in the cup holders and door compartments, and the entire car was loaded with cat or dog hair. Not to mention the interior and seats were all super beat up and damaged. I didn't realize how dirty the inside was until the employee already hurried back inside, and I figured maybe it was bearable to I started to drive. Then once the windows went down the animal hair started flying everywhere. I called the location but was out on hold for 25 min. By the time they answered I was already crossing into New York (I had an appointment I absolutely could not miss a few states away). Their solution was for me to drive back and get a different car. I explained how far I was, and he just repeated himself. After pushing a little (which I hate) he told me I could exchange the car at a different Hertz or get it cleaned myself and they would reimburse me. I called 5 different Hertz locations along the way and they all said they didn't have any cars. So I opted to take some allergy meds and drive with all the windows down until the hair all flew out. Needless to say, I'm never renting from this place again. I paid $80 a day plus fees for a filthy beat up car that gave me an allergic reaction and the staff didn't really seem to care. Do yourself a favor and go to the enterprise car rental not too far down the road.

Their customer service is very bad. I was scheduled to pick up at the bodyshop. I also got an email from them that they would go extra mile for me when i was scheduled. On the day I called them at the bodyshop, but they said they wouldn't because the distance is too far (30min)and recommended another branch. So I called to them but they said that they could lift me but the options to choose rentcar was limited because the cars that my insurance is covered are rented out. They should have told me when I was scheduled so I could choose another company. Why did they send an irresponsible email to me pretending they will offer me a lift if they cannot.? They should notify on their website like "the distance matters." Do not be deceived by their exaggerated advertising.

Worst hertz rental experience ever.The car was dirty which apparently is to be expected at this location. Staff cannot do anything without their manager approving and he is either on the phone or unavailable and when available not much help. The regional manager jonathan zappel doesnt even bother to call you to resolve an issue so you are left spending hours on the phone with the rental staff and the 1-800 number folks.You rent an EV but the car doesnt come with a mobile charger. When you ask how come they just say .well at the time hertz got the cars there was a shortage of mobile chargers so they never got one and never ordered one after and to go use the supercharger 20 mins away. No one tells you that a charger will not be provided when you rent or during pick up. Insanity !If you prepay and need to extend your rental you have to call the rental office for them to say that it cannot be done and to call the 1-800 number. You call the 1-800 number they say no can do call the rental location. So you call the rental location and ask again. The staff finds the manager and now all of a sudden they can extend and ask you to call the 1-800 number. Again you call the 1-800 and extend your rental and be charged an extra $10.00. Total lunacy !The return process takes over 30 minutes. When you ask to be dropped off at a location (body shop next to morristown whole foods) which is literally a 3 min drive because it is raining by the staff they say they have no drivers and that i have to wait longer on top of the long wait due to the return process. Of course they had to ask the manager before even giving me this answer. So i had to walk in the rain to the body shop to pick up my car.They couldnt even print out an invoice that clearly shows how much i ended up paying in total for the rental and was referred to a website to go get it myself. Total incompetence !The online receipt charge descriptions dont match the receipt you get from the rental location. for example I was charged $45 according to the online receipt its a motor vehicle lease tax but listed as domestic security fee on the convoluted receipt you get from the rental location. So which one is it ? Unbelievable !Just stay away from this place and go to another location, not all hertz locations are like this one.

The staff members are unprofessional and impolite and take a minimum of thirty minutes to check one out, partly because they're always answering their phones and talking with each other and generally intimating that they're up to something gangster under the surface of a rental car business. The cars have lots of miles and lots of scratches and the staff will not provide any documentation acknowledging the pre-existing damage. The place feels sketchy, and the whole experience is unpleasant.

I rent anEV. They told me that the EV was only 45% charged. i expect70%+ charged. i need tocharge it mid of the day to make my trip! this is insane. they charge some previous user 35 dollars for not fully recharging the vehicle back to the levelit should be. but they choose to do nothing about the car and enjoy the 35 dollars! they force me to take care of it and changemy travel plan and sacrifice my trip toaccommodate them. this is insane. the alternative gas option they offer is 80% higher in price. i will not rent EV car and do not use hertz any more. i cant believe tom brady even promoting it. this guy is so rich and why does he promote such a bad and irresponsibility.

(UBER DRIVERS) DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ!!! They are committing credit card fraud... I rented a vehicle from them and it was totaled on Sept 14th. in which (UBER's INSURANCE PAYED THE EXPENSES)... The accident was reported on the 15th with photos, a police report etc. and to this day Nov. 7th, they are continuously charging my credit card the weekly UBER rental rates. I've used AVIS in the past for UBER with NONE of these issues. I now have to cancel my credit card and get an attorney involved. Not only do they owe me money for back charges but now they owe for new ones. FAIR WARNING...STAY AWAY!!!

Edwin & Chris need to be retrained on the phones, or let go! For some reason they both have an uncontrollable urge to indirectly tell customers they are wasting their time by calling the Morristown office. Two weeks ago Edwin spent 15 minutes telling me how Hertz uses intimidation tactics in order to scare Uber drivers into taking 30 trips. He proceeds to tell me that my credit card wasn t falsely charged due to an inaccurate Hertz repossession. Later that week I was refunded by Hertz Billing for those same charges and inaccuracies. The fact that he was even comfortable saying this on a recorded line is still beyond my comprehension. This morning I called to get an additional refund for inaccurate late charge due to this same incident and Chris proceeds to give his personal opinion on a refund that he previously says is out of his control The only reason I haven t given them 1 star is because of Tyshawn, who is more than helpful whenever I have an issue. I rarely leave negative customer reviews, but this is out of hand and needs to be addressed. I m tired of calling the Morristown office and being met with two confrontational employees who have nothing better to do than go back and forth with customers over the phone. It s pathetic!!!

Bad service. Me and my brother rented a car from here few months ago.They are trying to make us pay for damages on the car. Lucky we took pictures and videos of the car before leaving the hearts garage. In the pictures you can clearly see that the damages were already there.See y all in court.

I received a letter from Hertz stating that I need to pay for damages to a vehicle I rented a few months ago.When me and my brother went to the Hertz location in Morristown to rent the vehicle, we took pictures and videos of the Tesla before leaving the garage. I took pictures and videos of every scratch, mark, and any damage to the vehicle in the presence of the Herts associate.I rented the vehicle for a few weeks and returned it on time. When I went to drop off the vehicle, I took pictures and videos of the vehicle. I returned the car in the same condition I received it in.A few days after dropping off the vehicle, I got a call saying I needed to pay for damage to the car.I went down to Morristown Herts to speak with the guy who helped me rent the vehicle. I told him that I didn t cause the damage that they were accusing me of. I showed him pictures and videos of the vehicle before renting it. In those pictures and videos, you can clearly see that the damages were already there. I showed the Herts associate the videos and explained to him that they were there already. He said yes, and I can see that the damages were already there.Sorry for any misunderstanding. You are free to go; you don t have to pay anything.I thought everything was fine until I received a call and a letter from Herts about how I had to pay for damages to the car.

Pros: Scheduled a same-day pick up that was available. Fair price and friendly service.Cons: The location is in first floor of the busy downtown building. The car I have is very dirty exterior and indoor parking lot is very dark. Renters better check carefully. The car I have is licensed from Florida.Return is easy, parking garage is open 24 hours. No issues!

Apparently this isn t under the general hertz company, being as they don t listen to the actual hertz company policies and even if you call the corporate number and put them on speaker, this location still does whatever they want.I don t rent from this location anymore.

Came here for a car that I already received online. Uber to the location only to have them tell me that they don't have any car for me. This is unprofessional to miss lead customers.i am disappointed. Unreliable service.

Worst rental experience ever.They make up their own policy and even when I showed them what the policy is online they refused to change their stubborn minds.The representatives at this location really don't care about their costumer or Hertz policy.If I could I would rate them -100.

I'm not sure why there are bad reviews of this Hertz location. For an off-airport, local location--the management clearly cares a ton, its conveniently located, and I've never had an issue with pricing/time waiting/anything else. This is a solid, trust-worthy Hertz location.

12/14/22 - Scheduled a same-day pick up that was available within 2 hours. I was upgraded and the service was fantastic. I think I worked with Ayanna (?) who had me in and out in 10 min. She explained all the details and answered all of my questions. Will be my go-to rental location moving forward.

They have a deal with a transmission shop which is some scam to keep your car longer so you have their rental longer. Then when I said I m paying with my credit card they didn t charge me. I kept calling and calling for weeks telling them I don t see a charge they said we are seeking your insurance I said nooo my insurance isn t the one paying I am. They said I had to wait for a manager to see what s happening I call back and again and again nothing. This was in June. They just called saying they charging me $800 basically. It s the end of august I didn t even have a rental for the last two months. They are scammers and unprofessional!!!! Go to a different town! And don t go to AAMCO FOR THE TRANSMISSION THEY ARE in on it. I was going to let it go but now plus they are over charging me I only had the car for less then 3 weeks and it was 29 a day that s with taxes and for 21 days. Do the math. Tim and this other woman are in on it.

The worst rental experience I ve ever encountered.Came here after Hertz of Jersey City cancelled my reservations twice, literally right before my pickup times.The initial experience at Hertz Morristown was one of the best, the associate manager Ayanna had me in and out in less than 30 mins. She was friendly and was efficient with my time.3 weeks went by with no issues. Every Friday morning I would call in to extend the rental another week. I did the same for the 4th week but this time my card was declined. I asked the agent to try again since I had more than enough funds. After being on hold for more than 20 mins while he was helping another customer in store (he didn t realize he was on speaker), I hung up and called back only to get the same agent who informed me that my renewal went thru.Monday morning I m getting threatening calls from corporate that my rental is overdue and that recovery processes will begin. If anyone has watched the horror stories about Hertz on YouTube, then you know what I m speaking of.After calling the Morristown office, Hertz corporate, and my bank BoA to make sure no restrictions were in place, I was informed by corporate to go back to the Morristown office to settle the issue, even though Ayanna from Morristown informed me this was a known issue between Hertz and BoA customers and that I could go to any Hertz location to settle my billing issue. According to Ayanna, BoA will place a block in the 3rd or 4th week of rentals because it s too many pending charges. I figured it would be safer to just go back to Morristown to settle this even though it was about an hour away from me.When I got to the Morristown office I dealt with Ayanna again, who this time wasn t as friendly. The branch manager Tim Cooney was sitting next to her who seemed to want to take over the conversation as I was explaining the issue and my frustration. I asked him, if this was a known issue with Hertz, why hasn t corporate done something about it. And why am I getting conflicting information from Hertz employees, even the same employee telling me one thing one moment and something different the next.All the while I m getting anxiety thinking I might get pulled over at gunpoint with my 7 yr old because my rental is reported stolen. Tim didn t seem concerned at all, making excuses mostly stating it s company policy, or that he wasn t there to hear what his employees told me, but excused them telling me that his employees would never say such things. He shrugged his shoulders a lot as if not to care, and when I said that to him, he seemed offended by my response. He then tried to make false accusations against me saying I was putting words in his mouth and that I didn t want to pay anything for the 4 days of the billing issue nor the 4th week of my rental.After explaining to him several times that all I wanted was the billing to be corrected and to pay the 4th week as in the rental agreement but not the 4 days extra he wanted to charge me, he finally did the right thing by correcting the bill, although he seemed a little surprised that I reiterated to him that that s all I wanted, as if he hadn t been listening to my request from the beginning.In the end, Tim suggested that the conversation was over, hinting that I should leave. Like I said, the initial rental experience was great, smooth and easy. Good customer service isn t only when things go smooth and easy but how a customer is treated when there is an issue. And Hertz failed miserably. I was willing to keep renting my vehicle for several more weeks but Tim didn t seem to care about that either. For anyone looking to do business with Hertz, just go watch the YouTube videos and the horror stories before renting. It may save you a lot of anxiety and stress. As for me, I will never do business with Hertz again.

I have no clue how it's possible that a car rental can be "out of cars," but when I showed up to pick up my rental car that I reserved two days in advance, the clerk told me that there were no cars available and that I'd have to wait until one showed up. Ridiculous.

UPDATE: Both Corey and Tim were very accommodating and helpful in finding a vehicle for my needs (moving a large picture).They were also, both very friendly and efficient. Thanks all.Both Josh and Santiago provided exceptional and very professional service months ago, on several occasions. Hopefully they are still at this location. I have rented from this location many times. All experiences have been great. Unfortunately, as with most rental companies, they transfer their personnel continuously. Convenient location and great pricing. The only downside is, if you are not familiar with the parking garage. Otherwise, if walking, convenient and easy direct access from street.

Tim was incredibly helpful after the website allowed a booking that shouldn t have gone through. Rather than my out of state move being interrupted and it being a total headache, he fixed it professionally and kindly, with very little notice. Car was clean and what I was expecting in terms of the model received.

I actually came to this location due to a negative experience in another Hertz(pun?). The District Manager was very calm and professional, and laid out all of their optional services and rental protocols. There was another employee there I can t recall the name, sorry who was also very helpful and friendly. I felt informed and at ease with the smoothness of the process. If I ever was in the area I would get set up with them again.

Friendly staff, cars were in good condition. MAKE SURE TO GET CONFIRMATION WHEN RETURNING YOUR CAR DURING BUSINESS HOURS. When I returned my car (about 15mins before it was due back), all the personnel were on the on the phone so we waved at one another and I just dropped off the keys and left. They charged me $40 late fee. When I called in to ask they told me they would look into it and get back to me, nothing happened. Will be going down the way to Enterprise for car rentals next time.

The rental office was clean and organized. I was properly greeted by friendly staff and my vehicle was ready within minutes. All return instructions were explained and I was on my way without delay. Thanks Hertz!

I reserved a car , I had the reservations to pick up to do Uber today 3/25/22. They had the nerve to cancel my reservation and tell me no cars are available. How bout you update your system and stop allowing reservation if you don't have any cars available.

I reserved electric car through Hertz Website and once I arrived to the location, they told me they do not have the same or similar electric car I reserved. They offered me tesla which was much expensive. They advised me to call before coming to the location. I wonder why do they have online reservation website if they can not provide similar cars.

This hertz location is by definition costumer service.My gentleman Tim and Dave really went the extra mile (no pun intended) ;) to assure I liked the car I was getting and understood what I needed to know.These guys are professional, and easy to understand, they will get you on the road within minutes of arriving.God bless you both!
