TL:DR: Firestone took $1,300 to "fix" our car only making it worse over the course of weeks and didn't even fix the original problem.I've been coming to this Firestone for over 15 years to get my car serviced and unfortunately this will be our last time. We brought our car in on a Thursday because of a check engine light and wanted to get it checked out before a big weekend we had coming up. The car was running fine with no issues but wanted to make sure it was safe. They called us that day to let us know that the repairs were going to be $1,000+ and we trust them so we agreed to it.We got the car back and it was undrivable. It was roughly idling, wouldn't accelerate, and the check engine light immediately came back on. We called back and asked if we could bring it in the next day, as clearly something was wrong that was not happening before we brought it in.That afternoon they called us to let us know that this new repair would be another $300+. When I asked them if the repairs the day before were necessary, they told me our car had pulled "7 different codes", looks like they immediately went with the most expensive and it wasn't even fixed. After $1,300 of repairs we expected the car to be ok. The minute after we drove it home, the check engine light came back on, and the car was worse than before - roughly idling and not accelerating sometimes at all at times., kicking me into the stop light on Bloomfield Ave.I brought it back in for the third time on that Saturday morning at 7:30am. The guy at the desk didn't even let me finish talking before asking me for our phone number, no empathy, and said "well, he didn't fix my car." I told them I had to stay there because this is the 3rd day without our car and I won't pay for any more Ubers home. 3 hours later, I asked for an update, and was told that "it would take a while." What would take a while? I hadn't approved any further work and had no one idea what they were even doing. At 12:30, after 5 hours of being there, I was told that they test drove it and found nothing wrong with it. 5 hours for them to tell me nothing was wrong with the car. I drove it off the lot, check engine light came back on, and the car is driving exactly the same. Anyone who would have test drove it for 30 seconds would have been able to see that, let alone 5 hours. They had us drive back for a 4th time and took the car again. This time it was the ignition switch, which they fixed at no charge. That night the check engine light comes back on. I reached out to customer service and we got a call from Firestone on Wednesday. THEY asked US when we could bring the car in (for the 5th time) and my husband told them he could bring it in the next morning. He brought it the next day around 11am and they called us 20 minutes before closing telling us they couldn't get to it and that it would have to stay overnight. We took our 6th Uber back because we could not go into another weekend without our car.$1,300 later, 6 uber rides to and from this Firestone, AND our check engine light is still on! I've spoken to customer service twice and asked for an Area or Regional manager to give us a call with no follow up so hopefully this stands as a word of caution at the very least.

This Firestone in Montclair is the best ANYWHERE! The people working there are knowledgeable and thorough every time. Mark is exceptional and the only one that I have found that can align my BMW X5 sport correctly - not even BMW has been able to get it as accurate. Highly recommend!

Really no problems...They did the things I could afford $ to do at the time and invoiced the urgent and lesser urgent recommendations......Also for those customers that don't realize; yeah Firestone Oil Changes are often in the $90 Range..Tho not great but it does include ..Tire Rotation...When ya consider just purchasing 4 quarts of synthetic motor oil is round about $30 ...And etc etcFirestone seems tending to be on the hit or miss side but Firestone Montclair is high quality on balance.I can go into Firestones that maybe ya wanna avoid but this one isn't one of them

Appalling. Made a 7am appointment for a simple tyre change. Dropped the car off at 6:55, I did think it was a little odd that the person inside looked me in the eye and didn't unlock the door to greet me, but I understand it's early so I just used the key drop and left. Called around 10:15 to see if car was ready, and they hadn't even started it. Called again at 11:30, and they told me "maybe around 2pm." At this point, I had no intention of giving them any more of my money so I (politely) asked them to put the tyres into the boot of the car so I could pick them up and bring them somewhere that respected my time. I showed up and he asked if I knew which tyres were mine, and looked at me like I was nuts when I said no. How would I have any idea where they were storing the tyres that I bought through them and had delivered to their location? After I gave him my name, he tried to say they couldn't find them so I, with some amount of shock, asked how he would have found them if I hadn't shown up, and he gave me some non-answer about a phone call. After a few more minutes of searching he eventually located the tyres and put them in the car and I left. Perhaps if you can just leave your car there all day the service would be fine, but I don't have the luxury of waiting around to find out. A simple tyre change on a standard, newish car is a simple service and there is no excuse for it not to be done promptly.

It goes without saying that a visit to Firestone can cost a pretty penny... when necessary. But the work they've done for me has panned out well.

LADIES BEWARE!! Mansplaining in full affect. I made an appointment online for an oil change, tires rotation and an alignment (bc like a fool I purchased the warranty) I received my confirmation via email stating my appointment time and date. I left work early the day of my appointment and drove a half hour to this location only to be told that I don't have an appointment. I explained that I made the appointment on line and had a confirmation email and showed it to the man that was taking care of me. He refused to look and simply stated that I'm a grown up and should know to CALL and confirm my appointment. I stated that I received an email why call? He chuckled and said we don't have an appointment and if I wanted to wait for service I can but it will take longer than anticipated because I don't have an appointment. I contacted corporate and got nowhere with them either. I'm currently looking for tires for another vehicle and contacted corporate again and they said they'll contact me with a solution and NOTHING again...Avoid Firestone all together if you can.J.S.

Order some tires with the warranty thinking it would be a smart investment. Today I take the car for an alignment and they say that I need new tires I explain i purchased the warranty they told me since i didn t bring the car in for rotation the warranty is voided. They never once mentioned when I purchased the tires i would need to come in for rotations or I would have. This place is just a money grab avoid at all cost.Service: Tires

They are sorta good. The only issue is sometimes if you don t have any lights on your dash they will just say your car is fine ! Even when you know something is not right with your car. . Also I came to get serviced and they told me my filter needed to be changed, mind you I just changed it 1 week ago so I felt like they were just tryna tell my something because I asked a lot of questions and to get me to spend money on something I didn t need to do

I dont usually leave reviews but wanted to throw a good one in here. The team was fast, professional, and kind. I had an appointment, was a little late, but they got my car in no trouble and I was in and out for an oil change and some minor repairs in about an hour. Great team! Great job :)

They will rob you... don't usually leave bad reviews, but it frustrates me when prices go up when you go to your scheduled appointment. When I got to the counter the price was 60$ higher than what I was told on the phone because "that guys did it wrong". And when I went to check out the price was even higher than what the first guy said. When I asked to see the charges it miraculously went back down. been to other firestones and had good service. This isn't one of them.

I want to begin by saying I would never come back again to this location. My experience with the service manager Mardy Martin was horrible.I'm not even sure how he works with people. He was so rude, argumentative and almost bullying. First he asked if I had appt which I did. He looks it up and says that they overbooked in error. That it would be a long wait.2nd..when he discussing pricing and wanted me to sign..I told him I will wait for my husband to come back(as he was moving the car) and he was very persistent on me sign something I didn't understand. 3rd.. I asked him if their alignment machine is working because last time I bought tires..the alignment wasn't done cause the shop said the machine was broke to come back in a few days. And still when I came back in a week it still wasn't fixed so I never returned for the alignment. I ask if there were any discounts as it wasn't done. I'm not even sure if I got charged the first time. His answer was I should've went somewhere else and that's impossible that his machine was never broken.he argued me down about it and he was so sure I was wrong.then another service guy walked in and confirmed that it was broken at that time. then Mardy ignore that and kept talking over me. He showed he didnt even care for customers.I told him that he is rude. And that why he can't just apologize for the inconvenience and move on. And i told him I'm only here cause my husband wanted to come and i already drove 25mins with my front tires shot..wires from the tires showing and I had a flat with a nail stuck.i ask for his name and i told him that I will make a complaint. He had the nerve to tell me that me making a complaint would only look bad on me not him. This guy is beyond rude. My husband told him that he is wrong.i told him let's sit cause I will write a letter.then I sat down in the waiting area and while he was helping the next customer..he was laughing about me with the another customer. He was very scarcastic. like wow. I can't believe he works with customers. He is unprofessional. I'm so speechless. I got up and I left.

Many Firestone locations just claim they fix your vehicle and some locations just have a poor attitude, especially Nick From the Bloomfield area. There is this one guy in the Wayne location who will talk you into a Firestone card and sweet talk his way into thinking you getting a discount but really he's just trying to get you to sign up for a credit card.I told him I have a Firestone card and he says "you have an old card" this is for the new Mastercard. We just need your info to update your account. Stupid me I give my social. Two weeks later I get a letter saying I'm not approved and that's when it clicked....I was being upsold to A mastercard version of firestone credit card and not some update to get an existing new card....I felt manipulated...The only reason I go to Firestone is because I have a credit and able to afford a monthly bill rather than 500 on spot.... so in a way I have no choice and I'm disappointed everytime... sucks man.

I needed a simple flat tire repair. I brought the tire and rim off the car. Got there 1/2 hr early for my appointment and still was told it was 1-1 1/2hr wait. Then after waiting I get tire back, loaded it unto back of suv. Got home. Then see the weights from the balance laying next to the rim. Didn't even mount it and weights had already come off. Imagine this happening while driving on my new $300 rims damaging them or worse it affecting my brake caliper/rotor. I called and notified them and was told to come back. Wasted time driving back and was told that its because the weights had to be placed where they were and the residue from original weights didn't allow them to stick on. Why wouldn't tech properly remove the residue then? Was told they only had what was given to them to remove it but it clearly shows that barely any attempt to properly remove the residue was done. Very disappointed to waste 2 trips and potentially the dangers it could of caused.

I never leave reviews but I feel like I was taken advantage of. I don't usually take care of car stuff but my husband is away and I had to. I only needed an oil change and was told by the worker at Firestone that my explorer required a special type of oil. Paid $87 dollars for a simple oil change. When I went home and called my husband he confirmed that I was taken advantage of. Will never go back!!!!!Service: Oil change

Had work done here before my car was due for inspection. Firestone noticed NO issues. Great. Few weeks later is my inspection. Turns out my catalytic converter was stolen with a pipe WELDED into place. Firestone is the only place that this could have happened at unless someone was welding a pipe in my driveway

I had tow my vehicle to firestone at the 232 bloomfield ave location in Mount Clair NJ. Made an appointment to have my starter replaced which they confirmed via the $30 diagnostic that my starter was bad. Hours later i get called and told its not the starter and that its a PCM issue with not enough power getting to the starter. They allegedly said they took out the old starter and put a new one in and car still did not turn on. I got my vehicle towed at a different location and told them what firestone said and they laughed. They said the starter is at an extremely difficult spot in the vehical and not where most starters are located. There is no sign of removal nor would firestone put in all that time to just put your old one back and not charge you for time and labor. They told you PCM because they decided its not worth the headache. Some people will do crazy things just to not fix an issue they dont feel comfortable with. The part that sucks for me is that i paid for towing to get a car that still doesnt work. Firestone is not to be trusted at this bloomfield location. They will redirect you if they cant do it or lie to you like they did to me. Or they will charge you for service that your car didnt need. These guy are the pinnacle of the horror stories from mechanics that lie to you!2 wholes stars

I would give zero stars if this was an option. I had my car towed there because it was stuck in park. Called the next day to make sure my car made it there and whoever answered was very rude. Didn't explain what may be wrong, what they were going to do until I pushed them for an answer. Said they would not go outside to check some minor things I asked about after the tow because " it was too cold outside and they won't let their mechanics freeze". What the? I was so shocked by this person's rude behavior and lack of professionalism that I had my car towed somewhere else. Never again with this place.

I had a tyre with insufficient air and came to Firestone. The person at the reception tells me that I can either pay $30 to fix it and remove a nail or replace all the tyres. I discussed with my husband and we agreed to fix it. We can change the wheels a little later. They said okay. Then, they come back and tell me that I have to change the tyres anyway because it s company policy. I asked them to fix it this time and change them later as we discussed. The guy says okay. Then, he tells me I can get my car back 10 minutes later. I ask to pay at the reception and the receptionist tells me that there is no need to pay. I am confused and ask the repairman who asks again and says again no need to pay, so I leave the place. The next day, I have a flat tyre on the motorway with my kids in the car We could have all died. If they didn t fix it and removed the nail, at least they could have told me.Edit: we went to Costco to change the tyre and we re really happy with their services

Helped us when we experienced brake problems while heading out on vacation. I highly recommend this firestone location. They fixed the problem as quickly as possible, explained everything, and provided terrific service.

4.5 stars. They had forgot to return my good tire after mounting two new ones for to road damage to one of the two tires. I reminded them and they brought it out. Otherwise they were fairly fast and professional. A much better experience than I've had in the past at this location.

Really wish there was a no star option. Brought my vehicle here for a simple oil change. Not sure why it took them two days to complete. Not to mention the lack of communication about the timeframe in when it would be done.

Charged 133% of the average radiator replacement on our car (after already charging above average to replace all the coolant hoses at another location) despite us asking multiple times for a more reasonable price. Can no longer recommend this company (and certainly not this location).

Asked for brake pad replacement and they replaced rotors as well without mentioning it before starting work. Rotors accounted for the majority of the price, seeing as Firestone sources their own parts this is a huge cash grab.Edit: After reviewing the parts I noticed they charged me $215 each rotor when they are worth $83 (2.5x the price) and about 50% above the price on pads themselves.I highly recommend going somewhere else these people are not trustworthy.Service: Brakes
