I've been coming here for years, and they're some of the most honest and down-to-earthguys you could ask for. Transparent about the work and always down for a brief chat. I cannot recommend them enough!

Alex is not only kind and easy to chit chat with, he knows his stuff and is very honest. I trust Alex with my Honda Covic Si. Highly recommended.Follow up 3/2023: New car, WRX, still, trust Alex evtirely with every service. He is fair on pricing, helpful, and explains everything to a tee. Alex and Ray are two honest people. Alex is an experienced machinists and knows Volvo so well and therefore he can fix any problem with a fair price. This is the best Volvo garage in north Jersey. I fully trust their skills and know they will take a good care of my cars.

Very friendly and prompt. Worked with me to figure out the most practical maintenance solution that was affordable. Included tire rotation in the price and didn't realize. Had a twisted seatbelt on my 2nd row center seat in my XC90 the dealer (Volvo in Edison) charged me 150 to try and fix and they didn't even get it right. The dealer said I needed a new seat belt assembly for 1200 bucks more. Alex fixed mine and didn't even charge me anything! I was shocked he didn't even ask for a little money for the hassle. He has a bunch of Volvos there, and he told me he's been working on them since 1981! The reviews I read that led me here are right.

Alex at ALK is one of the nicest guys I've ever met in the car business. He's friendly, fair and honest. The shop has a neighborhood mechanic feel, but has been top-notch in terms of their expertise on my Volvo.

Alex and Ray know what they're doing! they used to work be in the service dept. at Montclair Volvo before it shut down a bunch of years ago. the last cars they worked on in the dealer were mid-late 2000's Volvo's so they're experts on the subject. Ive been going there for everything wrong with my 2004 Volvo for over 2 years now and Im never disappointed. Speedy, honest, and good prices (and true car guys!)

Alex is a honest and great mechanic. He is a Volvo expert and also works on Honda's. These are the only brands he works on. Although he is great with all EU brands.

Alex and Ray are the best. I've been to a few mechanics before, and they could not figure out what was wrong with my Volvo. Alex figured it out the same day. I highly recommend them.

Raymond and Alex were fantastic help! I was able to get an oil change the morning I called that only took an hour! I also mentioned an issue I was having with my break light, and Alex resolved this problem immediately. Thank ou again for your swift and helpful services!

I have been going to Alk for several years with two volvo cars. ALK always does an excellent job and conducts their business with a high level of integrity.I moved two years ago and it takes me 2 hours to get to ALK. I continue to go to ALK becuase of the exceptional value that is provided. If you choose to come to this shop, I can assure you that your car will be in great hands.

After Paul Miller Honda of West Caldwell cheated me out of my power train warranty and claimed I needed a new engine (estimates by dealer to be 5000$+). Came to ALK after the Dealership scandal and they only had to replace the spark plugs and install two new ignition-coils on my Honda Fit. The also had to rethread a sparkplug. 1000$ and no new engine needed.I recommend them extremely for their honesty. That's a rare quality in the automotive industry.Don't buy Honda if you plan on Honda honoring your warranty.

I brought my car here for a full brake job. Whether they used the wrong parts or did the installation incorrectly, the brakes needed to be redone in about 19,100 miles. Rather then the 50K or 60K miles a brake job should last. They were not cheap either. This was the first and only major work they have done form me and I will not be using them ever again.
