Honest is the best Auto repair shop in the area (EB/Milltown). The owner, Rich, his front desk staff, and the mechanics are all excellent at their jobs. My go to place for auto repair.

This was my first experience with Honest-1. I legit only knew they existed because of a coupon I received in the mail. So I looked up their website and saw some great reviews and booked my appointment right online. It was fast and easy. I didn't call the location because I only had a couple routine services I needed. When I got there it was clean and welcoming. Each person I interacted with was support friendly and helpful. They took care of both my car and my wife's car in about 2 hours. They called to verify pricing and only performed services that were needed. This is definitely my new auto repair place. Amazing experience. 10/10, highly recommend .

I keep brining my my 3 vehicles to Richy of Honest 1 Milltown NJ, very honest, thorough, will give you his professional advise and suggestions, their reception area and restroom are very clean, good ambiance, price is fair and reasonable. Hands down one of the best auto care shops out there, they really live up to their names. Came in here to get my radiator replace since it was leaking a lot of coolant. Very professional, very knowledgeable & the mechanic that worked on my car knew what he was doing. These types of places need to be recognized because there re few of these auto care left. Jay & Jose will take care of you! Will be coming back

My wife brought her car here because the engine acted oddly at a stop light and misfired and shut off. We told them the evap valve error code came on with engine light last month and I had cleared it myself and wondered if they could test it. No engine lights were on at the time it was brought in. We were called with a hefty $1900 amount of work that "needs" to be done. Granted some of it was breaks, but, what? They basically read off everything to replace that could have caused the problem based on past warning codes from diagnostics on an almost 10yr old car. Didn't test EVAP purge valve like I asked. We paid $80 for the diag fee and took the car back. The error code eventually came back on and I brought it to the dealer. It was a $500 repair and the breaks were fine. $1900 bucks. Ignored my request. Didn't even have the EVAP valve on the list which WAS the problem. No thanks. Plus 70 bucks for an oil change? 45 at the dealer. EDIT: I'm reading other reviews and they charged others less for diagnosis. Dishonest much? I don't think I'll ever come here again after my experience. If they just listened to me and tested what I told them to test and found that it was indeed bad, my 5 star review would still be here.

We have been going to Honest-1 for our car repairs and maintenance for the past 8 years with good reason. Richy and his team do a fantastic job each time with all our car repairs. We are kept well-informed along the process and everything is clearly explained before work is performed. Richy and his team were incredible! I needed new tires and an oil change in addition to some lights that's came on while I was driving to work, he was able to fit me in the next day and promptly fixed my car ready for me. This is the 2nd time I've used H1. First major repair was for the clutch. This time, I had them service the brakes. I find that Richy and his techs are very good at explaining the issues that come up with the car. He'll talk you through the procedure and even share pictures so you can see what was going on. Since my car is old (24 years now), we were able to work out what would be worth fixing without too much expense. I appreciated his thoughts on recommended service, but there was never any pressure selling. I plan on going back for regular maintenance service soon and would recommend them for bigger repairs.Service: Brakes

Stay Away - typical rip off place. they just want the service. This was my regular maintenance shop for my two cars. Joe suggested me to do transmission service in my Camry, I put faith on him and did the transmission service, later my transmission failed on 94k miles. I was so embarrassed after wheel alignment from this shop. The guy said that it couldn't be completed because the front strut assembly was aftermarket parts. So, the alignment camber kit needs to be installed for adjustment. And then, I got a quote, almost $400; after installed the kit and then the wheel alignment should be done again. Actually the front strut assembly was recently replaced by myself. That's why I wanted to have wheel alignment. I didn't know about the alignment camber kit (i.e., special bolts for adjusting camber angle). They should have let me know before the wheel alignment. I spent $100 for that, but the front wheels are not still straight. That's too bad.Service: Wheel alignment

Literally my best experience at an auto repair shop and very honest. I went into get the engine light checked out and potentially get fixed. The dealer's quote was $225 for diagnosis plus repairs, pepboys quote.was $99 plus repairs. These guys told me $60 for diagnosis plus repairs. It turned out that the only issue was that the fuel cap was not closed properly and the engine light was needed to be reset. They were very honest about the diagnosis and did not charge me any $$. For the same diagnosis I would have paid much more at the other places. Plus my car was ready within a couple of hours. Never have I ever dropped my car off at a repair shop and got it fixed without paying any crazy amount.

So pleased to have brought my car here when I had an issue on a business trip. Joe, the service manager, walked me through the issue and expertly handled my extended warranty paying for most of it! They actually had my car ready before the promise date! Very courteous and responsible and HONEST! Thank you to the techs, Joe, and Richy (owner) for a wonderful experience! I had the timing belt and water pump replaced on my Honda Accord. I initially stopped by to see if they could do it and what it would cost. The manager, Joe, was very helpful and knowledgeable. The price quoted was very competitive and reasonable so I scheduled the service. From start to finish it was an excellent experience! Everything was completed as promised and my car is running like a clock. I would not hesitate to use them again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dishonest and/or incompetent. Brought my truck in several months ago for AC repair. They said the filter/drier was clogged and needed to be replaced. $500 later, the problem was still there. Next they said the compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced. Another $500. I recently started having electrical issues and I made the mistake of giving them a second chance. After having my truck for 4 days and $1000 in parts and labor, they call me and tell me it's ready. Go to pick it up and it wouldn't start. They had to keep it another day before I was able to get it back. Hopefully it's fixed, because if it isn't, I'm getting my money back and taking it somewhere else.Services: General repairs & maintenance, A/C installation & repair

NOT SO HONEST : change of owner / administration no really know, I have taking my vehicles to honest-1. for few months until now.Took my Audi to unlock the hood leash shot open, a very simple fix by pulling 3 screws and tie the pull cable.I was surprised but receiving and estimate of over $400. (On a part and labor )on a part cost of $116 new. ( no needed) I questioned and reject to go forward, so I WAS CHARGED $58 for looking down the lash without any troubleshooting. 2 min job.I would not recommend this business to anyone looking for an honest service. Went down the road to a gas station and the malik guy ( gas attended / mechanic ) took 10 min to reattach the cable. He charges me $20.Thank you, malik

Made an online appointment. Received message that someone will contact to confirm the appointment as online appointments are not guaranteed. Nobody contacted. I reached on time for appointment anyway and Joe is having difficulties finding right oil for my Q5 ( which was already mentioned in online appointment ). Then he says it will take 2+ hours because they have to get the correct filter. So why do you give appointment if you don t have the correct filter and not sure which oil to use. Most of it, Joe s attitude. Wow

Great service, friendly staff. The waiting room has wifi so I was able to work while waiting for my car to be done. I was expecting to be there until the afternoon but I got there at 8am and left around 10am! This place lives up to the expectations. 100% Honesty! Ive always super skeptical about auto places since my car is everything to me but I figured id give this place a shot since its close to home. I'm so glad I made the decision. Joe was amazing. Super helpful and totally honest with my 2010 Mazda 3. Thank you so much again Joe and team for taking care of her! 5 stars without a doubt!

Hands down the best auto service I have ever received. Ryan, one of the mechanics, found that my engine was burning oil and encouraged me multiple times to have Kia do an oil consumption test. I finally decided to go and Joe put all the paperwork together for me from all my oil changes so I could bring it with me to the dealership. After a few months of tests, Kia found that my car was indeed burning excess oil and I was able to get a new engine put in, completely covered by my extended warranty! I bring my car here, my husband brings his car here, I seriously think even if we moved we'd drive completely out of the way to go to Honest-1 because they are what they say they are-- honest. A+ Service. The staff is knowledgeable and takes the time to justify any and all recommended services. They get done work quickly and efficiently.I recently had to start a laundry list of services on my car and the expenses made me nervous, but the staff was willing to work with me in a way that allowed me to get everything done while still working within my budget.Definitely would recommend and I will be coming back.
