Bob's "unfriendly" service. Brought my car in for an oil change and left the keys with one of his mechanics. I went back and told the owner (who was now in) I would wait in the waiting area because I was in no rush and would work on my phone. He said "wait for what?" I replied "my car", and I then asked if it was ok to wait. He rolled his eyes, got into a customer's car, completely ignoring me, and drove off. I decided to get into my car and drive off, and avoid getting my car serviced there.As a business owner myself. Literally, the bare minimum you can do is tell someone, hold on, or that you'll be back. You don't turn your back on a customer and walk off as they're talking. I see there was another person here who said he turned his back and walked off on them too. This must be a habit of his.

We have been going to Bob s Friendly in Midland Park for many years. I brought my Honda Pilot for two issues , power steering and a windshield wiper motor. They replaced the power steering rack and the wiper motor ($1500.00 later).The car was driven home less than a mile, and sat in the driveway. The next morning the windshield had a large crack. The windshield repair technician confidently said the repair of the wiper motor caused the crack. Because of the long relationship with Bob s Friendly we assumed accidents happen and didn t make a big deal about it.When I got the car home the steering felt loose and sloppy, the original power steering noise was still there.We brought the car back for them to repair the problem,they ended up keeping the SUV for over a month and never looked at it. Had to keep calling him week after week, he never called us. He finally looked at it and said it was a defective part ( the rack) and someone from the parts distributor company was coming to look at it. Well, they never showed and again he kept the car for a few more weeks, same thing no call, no explanation. During this time were we very patient and understanding about some shop issues. We couldn t understand why we were being treated disrespectfully since we were long time customers. We took the car home one weekend and my husband said it was the power steering pump, the SUV was hard to turn and it was screeching. We returned the car Monday and my husband asked him to look into replacing the power steering pump. By the following Friday there was still no solution and no plan to repair.After another two weeks of being promised every two days the car would be repaired, we decided to cut our losses (walk away) take the car home. It was pretty clear that they had no intention of completing the repair and were hoping we would just go away.To close the story the car was repaired elsewhere in a few hours and it turned out to be the power steering pump.Since Bob nor anyone from his staff never bothered to follow up with us, it s clear they were playing a waiting game and never had any intention of completing the repair.Like I stated, we had been going to him for years but no longer will. I m writing this review to caution other people about using Bobs Friendly in Midland Park, NJ .

I went to get the picture for the inspection insurance, he turned his back away to me told me he didn't have time now, locked himself inside the office so i knocked on the door he came out very disrespectful and asked if I understood what meant that he didn't have time I told him I'm talking with you where are your manners and he repeated I don't have time now good day.. if I didn't respect older people I'd have slap him. Poor service no education a real piece of work..

Saying that they're friendly is not enough. Bob and his staff understood the pedicab I was in, moved a car out of their bay and islets mine on the spot. Their always translated and tell you exactly what needs to be done and how much time it will take....USE BOB'S!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

This place is great no BS. Straight forward and honest place. A lot of times auto repair places will try to over sell things or give you extra things you don't need this place is great because they do not do that.

Bob's a good guy. Would like it if he discussed options more thoroughly before undergoing expensive repairs, though. Job is done well always.

It's the worst place to inspect for insurance, they got my VIN number wrong and they didn't fill out another paper they just sent me back another day

You never get idea that they want to do any repair or service that you don't need. They will only charge you if it has to be done.
