Curtis Auto Repair shop are very honest and prices are reasonable. My brother took his 2 vehicles there and they worked on them promptly at great prices. I highly recommend this auto repair shop. I had taken my previous car a 2011 Toyota Corolla to Curtis. He checked the car out as a courtesy and was honest if something had to be repaired. I went to his shop and he drove me home locally. Worked on my car and picked me back up to pay him. Unfortunately my car was totaled in a car accident in August 2022. Otherwise, he would still be the only mechanic I would use.

Curtis was very nice and knowledgeable. He helped me with my car without breaking the bank. He even printed out information about my car's issue from online for me to learn about. Highly recommend!

Honest guy, down to earth. He had my tire fixed is less than 10 mins. Firestone told me they couldn t fix my tire I needed to buy a new one for 300 dollars and Curtis and his guys were able to fix it and save me money and time. He could have lied and tried to sell me a tire but he didn t.

I have been taking my 2000 Toyota Corolla to Curtis for over 10 years. Curtis is professional, honest, and loves what he does. Curtis is the only mechanic that I take my family's cars to.

Brought both of my cars here for work on different occasions and can't be more pleased. Great work and resonable prices. Great to find a place that knows the mechanics and not just a plug-in technician that needs to read codes off a screen.

Having recently moved to NJ I needed to find a auto shop I could trust to replace my badly worn brakes. I checked Google and saw Curtis Auto Repair was well reviewed. And just to double check I also looked them up on Yelp. Curtis Auto has great reviews for both so it was a no brainer to call. I was able to get an estimate real quick. The price was very reasonable and it turned out I needed both sets of brakes replaced and it took less than 3-4 hours. Even got a oil change. They didn t try to up sell me on anything. Very friendly and just seems like good people who run the shop. I m recommending Curtis to any one who needs a mechanic.

He seems like a nice man. He took me in almost immediately. And he fixed the problem with my truck which was one of the brakes. I still heard a noise coming from the brake for a little while but the noise has since left.

The man who called me back gave me every reason to believe I would be in good hands if I had my car towed there for a fast flat fix. He did not let me down. The service was fast, friendly, very reasonably priced, and successful. Turns out the man I spoke with was Curt, the owner. I ll enthusiastically recommend Curtis Auto Repair to anyone who is looking for a good company.Service: Tires

I called Curtis Shop on 12/15 and he told me to drop car off the following day. I dropped it off the morning of 12/16 so they could look at it while I was at work. They called me and informed me that they gave it a good check over and everything look good. I appreciate their honesty. He even reminded me about my past due inspection sticker that he could take care of for $85 or if I wanted to take it to NJMV. I opted to take it myself and he did not make me feel bad about that. Great honest, professional service.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Auto repairs are black boxes to most people. We all love our cars but most importantly we want them to be safe. Therefore we completely TRUST in what someone says when it comes auto repair.Curtis and his team are the most honest people I have met in the business. After a repair shop in NYC failed the annual NY State inspection and give us a quote for $1,000 for new shock/struts and brake - we decided to get a second opinion. Curtis and his team checked out the car at NO COST and told us that our car was absolutely fine to pass the NY State Inspection and even gave it in writing. The gave us the detailed reasoning that the oil leakage was very minimal and should not interfere in passing the NY bounce test and the brake pads were only 40% worn and we can wait to get them replaced. Both of these issues should not cause the car to fail the inspection and indicated that other garage was trying to make money.Since Curtis and his team are in NJ, they couldn't do the inspection themselves but asked us to go to another garage in NY.We did and our car passed with flying colors.Thank You Curtis for saving us $1,000. It is great to find someone you can trust in this business. You have found yourself a new fan and customer for life for all future work.

Walked in to the business and was rudely told to book an appointment after speaking with someone over the phone and told to bring my vehicle in. I will never recommend this business to anyone I know. Curtis needs to appreciate walk-in customers and speak with respect to potential customers.

Brought my wife's car in Sat morning for a brake light on the dash and general maintenance checkup (2009 Civic). Asked Curtis for an estimate of parts and labor for changing out the brake pads, $300 per axle but he'll need to check out the car more thoroughly to provide a more accurate estimate. Ok fair enough, I can pick up the car on Monday along with receiving a final estimate.Fast forward to Monday, called Curtis and he didn't check the car because of snow being an issue? I guess that's a valid reason because it did snow a bit.The next week I took the car to my preferred shop in NYC and the quote was $165 per axle including parts and labor. Even further, after a verbal quote was given the car was up on the lift and inspected. The brake pads and rotors were fine, the brake fluid was low. Both Curtis' and my preferred shop are privately owned businesses and each of the owners attended to me personally. The main difference that affected my experience for both is shop space and tidiness. Had Curtis' shop been more spacious, up-to-date perhaps?, my wife's car could've been looked at and I would be more than happy to leave the car there for service. The lot looks like cars packed into a sardine can also, so is there a long backlog? In summary: I cannot question this establishment's ability to do good work based on my short experience and the overwhelming positive reviews from past customers.

Do you need an honest, well trained mechanic? Your search is over. Go see Curtis. I've had Curtis work on my cars and trucks for over 25 years. He used to service my fleet trucks and actually made me aware of two dishonest employees I had working for me. He could have just sold products and made money off my employees corporate cards and it might have gone without detection. As for my personal cars, he has always completed the work efficiently and dependably. Once or twice the repair wasn't correct and he always made good on the repairs at no additional cost.I once went to a dealership for recall repair and was confronted with a supposed estimate of over $6000. I immediately went to Curtis. Result: $325. I've never gone back to the dealer and Curtis is still maintaining that car. (4 years).I think it's a challenge to find reputable mechanics that you can trust to do the needed work properly without ripping you off.Curtis is your answer.

Tuesday night, I was driving home, hit a pothole, and got a flat. I pulled over and called AAA. The AAA representative said, We have an affiliate a mile and a half from you. Is that okay? I said sure and she told me they d be taking it to Curtis Auto Repair. The next day, Curtis called me to tell me they didn t have my tire in stock, but it was at a warehouse in Long Island and they d get it there the next day. He said the cost would be X. I asked if that included labor. He said, Are you kidding me? It s a tire replacement. We don t charge for labor. We don t charge for disposal either. Imagine I changed your spark plug and charged you to put the spark plug in the trash. No. That s the price. Sure enough, he called back the next day to let me know my car was ready for pickup. I got a ride down there. Curtis was kind, funny, and polite. He walked me out to my car and made good conversation. When I got to my car, I found the work to be done correctly and there to be no suspicious grease stains or boot stains on the interior or exterior of the car.Curtis is a hardworking, honest mechanic- something that s hard to come by. His shop is a bit of a hike from me, but I can t imaging taking my car anywhere else now.

Good work and reasonable prices. But it stops there. Unprofessional, curses excessively for no reason, seemed over-worked, finessed admitting they BROKE my driver side mirror, and I had to go back repeatedly for broken parts of my car that were done on their watch. Very sketchy. They know what they are doing but just because someone has decades in the business is no excuse to curse because parts are not coming on time nor an excuse to not admitting to breaking my mirror (garage is tight).I brought in my vehicle for delaying when I accelerated. According to the shop, There was a huge "hole" in my exhaust. I went to inspection in Paramus DMV the week before and they would have picked it up. I brought it to Curtis and all of sudden have this HUGE hole in my exhaust. I paid 1.2k. Fine. A few days later I hear a rattle and my rear brakes feel different since that visit. I went back and I was told they are bad. Needed replace my ENTIRE rear brake system. A month ago, I got a multi-point inspection and they said all my brakes were in good shape. Weird that Curtis Auto Repair "found" them needing replacing. They were screeching badly so I did it. I leave my vehicle for over 4 days since they were backed up with work. Pick up my car. That same day, my driver's side mirror came apart. Found fresh glue holding it. Went to the shop. Curtis denied everything. Cursed at me again because I did not ask how his day was doing.I've come to him for a few yrs and have never had these issues til now. Never will return. Not sure if they are short-staffed or what, but I felt my experience here was lacking professionalism and honesty. Customers come for a service and I'm paying you to do a job. I should not expect for my vehicle to come out the shop with more things wrong with it than when I came in. Now I need to replace my own mirror. Over $500 easily since I have premium pkg.The second picture is the replacement I had to buy out of pocket.

I came to Curtis' Auto Repair to get a second opinion on my car. I had gone to the dealership that told me I had issues with my car that would result in a bill of over $1000. After reading the reviews on Yelp!, I decided to give Curtis a call and I was glad that I did. They inspected my car and discovered that not everything the dealership had told me was accurate and that the part I would need to replace ended up being less than $100.Service was quick, they were super honest & accommodating! These guys are the real deal-never going back to the dealership!

My family and I have taken vehicles to Curtis for over 25 years total, including at old location. He and his staff have always been helpful. Rides are given home to people whose cars will be awhile. Work is professionally done. I recently moved to Texas and had vehicle checked before I left. No difficulties whatsoever. I had driven to Texas seven times previously and never had a problem. Curtis even went as far as to send a huge bouquet of flowers to my father's funeral! Great guy!

Great staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get honest help with any of their car issues. First visit i thought i had a bunch of problems wrong with my car after a previous visit to a less reputable auto shop. Curtis assured me my car was in good condition and theyre wasn't anything wrong. I appreciated their honest and timely service and the money i saved from just one visit. I will for sure be back with any issues that my car may have in the future!

Our experience was wonderful. We were recommended via AAA as we were in an accident having had a broken axel. Fair and honest service. Very knowledgeable and super quick turnaround. We had our truck in less than 48 hours. Even assisted towing company to ensure truck did not sustain additional damage when unloading from tow truck to garage. Highly recommend and would be inclined to return for future services.Service: Steering & suspension repair

LOOK NO FURTHER! BEST MECHANIC IN THE FREAKING UNIVERSE.Curtis has been the family mechanic for over 20 years. We have always appreciated his honesty and integrity, but what he did in the past few days for me took the cake for all of eternity.A few days ago, I brought my two year old Honda in for what I thought was a battery issue. The car didn't start twice, and needed to be jumped. Curtis found that it wasn't a battery issue, but the alternator was going bad. He called Honda for me and found out that the car was still under warranty. SO HE DIDN'T TAKE A DIME, he helped me learn about what I needed, and that would be provided for free from the dealership. I brought the car for service and explained what was happening. The technicians tested out the car briefly, and certified the car to be fine. Never mind the anecdotal that the two year old car had been jumped twice, and that the information that alternator wasn't charging the battery. They gave me a free oil change and told me to have a nice day.I called Curtis and asked for advice. He told me to come back to the shop, so that he could confirm the problem and he would GO WITH ME to the dealer to show that indeed there was an issue. Long story short, CURTIS STOPPED EVERYTHING AND ACCOMPANIED ME TO THE DEALER! He demonstrated the issue with his own equipment, and the dealer decided to give me a new alternator on the spot.WHO DOES THESE KINDS OF THINGS???CURTIS DOES! He even offered his car for me to borrow!!BEST MECHANIC IN THE FREAKING UNIVERSE.

AAA dropped off my car here after a tow, nobody answered the phone, so I left them a voicemail early in the morning. I didn't get a call back until later in the afternoon, and the man who called back couldn't be less helpful, he genuinely seemed to not know a single thing about car repairs. I towed my car elsewhere for service.Service: Auto maintenanceService: Auto maintenance

Curtis is a great mechanic, a true mechanic, honest, and straight forward. He looks at the whole car and is clearly conscientious. He will not overcharge you or encourage you to repair things that don't need to be fixed or replaced. And he won't let you drive off in an unsafe vehicle. Curtis will give you a clear understanding of the condition of your vehicle. I am so relieved to find such a mechanic especially in this area and day and age. So if taking your car to a mechanic is a daunting process and for the "health" of your car, go see Curtis.

Nice guy, great work, honest prices. One time I gave him my car to fix and it needed a new engine. He literally gave me his car so I could go holiday shopping and make it to work while he did that project.Having your car all jacked up isn't fun for anyone but he usually brings you good news and softens the blow of the inconvenience with fair pricing and a friendly demeanor.

Apart from the amazing service, fair prices, this shop is HONEST. When was the last time you read that about a repair shop? They explained what work I needed to have done, what work could wait, and why. This is my new go to shop! Already scheduled an appointment for my daughter s car!
