I made an appointment to have routine maintenance / oil change done, so I can t speak to their work quality on a serious job. I will say they were very friendly, professional, and accommodating. I had a good experience and plan to visit them again next time the car needs service or is having any issue.

Went in to have window glass + regulator fixed.I provided the clips, glass, and regulator. The shop provided the labor and rivets (rivet cost billed to me).All parts were new except the regulator which was taken from a parts car.The car was in the shop overnight on account of the rivets needing to be ordered. Not a problem, I'm a patient guy.Received the car today, and removed the door panel to inspect their work.First thing I notice is that the wood trim on the interior is broken off on the end now, and was hastily glued with some sort of black putty adhesive.Obviously, it either didn't have time to cure or is a low strength adhesive, because it came apart (see photo)Upon further inspection, two rivets are missing in the door handle. You can see they replaced two of them, but the bottom holes remain empty, so the handle is kind of flapping there.The regulator barely has any grease in the sliding channels, so the fixed window makes audible noise going up and down.There also seems to be no grease in the regulator teeth.After this review, I'll add some Sil-glyde to resolve the issue.The window glass was speckled with black grease smudges, which is surprising, since asides from greasing the channels and regulator teeth, this process is pretty much white glove.Not a big deal, but worth noting.TL;DR - Good import mechanic which decent turn around time, but makes avoidable mistakes/oversights without informing the customer.

When other shops was making it difficult, these guys got right down to business. My 540i needed an Ignition switch replaced. Smoothest transition I ever experienced. I also referred them to my aunt who was having issues with her 328i. She was so relieved and happy with the service. This will be the only place I want my car to be serviced at.Thanks again fellas

Went for annual inspection for Range Rover sport. These guys did a very good evaluation and did it in an hour or so. Super honest, straightforward, and just really good guys. I'd highly recommend!

John and his team are absolutely the best kind of people you want working on your vehicle, especially if it's a higher end car. They are transparent, honest, and very fair with their pricing. They will do everything they can to keep costs down and the lines of communication are always open with a very fast response time as to what's going on with your car while at their shop. They go the extra mile to diagnose difficult issues and if they can't fix it they don't charge you.I cannot recommend Motorsport GmbH highly enough.

This place is amazing. Problem was correctly diagnosed , fixed before committed time and that too at reasonable price. This felt way better than car's service center which put quotes on hunches and hard to reach out. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. Would recommend this place.

My parents, husband, and I have all been taking our cars to Motorsport GmbH since John opened the shop a few years ago. He always takes his time to talk with us and properly diagnose any issue we are having. John has always been trustworthy in character, very fair in pricing, friendly, and timely in labor. Motorsport truly cares to get each of their jobs completed correctly. I have recommended friends and family to take their vehicles to Motorsport and I will continue to do so for a long time. We always leave this shop as happy customers!

I've been going here for about 2 years now. John and his team have been great with each repair and service. Oil changes are priced reasonably and done within a few hours when you have an appointment. He recently did a brake job for me and I am very happy with the work. They will also often take the time to show me exactly what issues are cropping up, what should be taken care of immediately and what can wait. Overall, very happy with the quality of service and especially the communication.EDIT/ADDITION: Had a bit more work done recently - new struts, control arms, etc. Another great experience. Took the time to review all the work that was needed, advised to wait on certain jobs to do it all at the same time to save me some money (do the struts, end links and control arms together rather than piecemeal), and then took the time to answer questions afterwards. Excellent communication as usual. Will continue to lean on John for future work.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes

John and his team are awesome. They take time out to really talk to you and let you know what's wrong with your vehicle in relatable terms. Their prices are very fair, and the work is high quality. I completely trust them with my 2013 M5 and would bring them any BMW I owned for service.

Extremely Overpriced and Not Transparent.I brought my X5 here because an engine malfunction error was popping up when I would drive it, and I was informed it was just because I was out of DEF. I was also told I needed to replace my turbos if I wanted the error to go off completely, instead of randomly coming on and then promptly turning off when I drive the car. In addition, they replaced my air & cabin filters, changed my oil (which typically includes the addition of more DEF), and got dirt out of some of the drains since water was pooling on the floor after rainstorms. All of this ended up costing me $900. I'm not sure how much their labor rate is but this doesn't add up to me, and I was even given someone else's invoice when I left, so I honestly don't even know how much everything costed individually. A cabin filter replacement ($70 max), oil change ($175 max), and drain 'declogging' ($200-$250 max) should cost maybe $500 on the expensive side, not almost a thousand dollars. I would steer clear unless you have money to waste.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

This shop is truly dedicated to helping their customers. My boyfriend has been going to them for a couple of years, and I became a customer a few months ago when I failed inspection due to emissions problems. John worked with me, dealt with my endless emails, and seemed as invested in getting my car to pass inspection as I was. Absolutely trustworthy and reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

They are very polite, professional, knowledgeable, HONEST and PRICE IS AMAZING. They also work with you to match your schedule. I got everything fixed for 1/3 of the price Bmw and other places were offering. Anyone who has a bmw should come here and here only. BMW should work for these people. Motorsport gmbH is a great shop! I brought my car there after the brakes had been squeaking/grinding. John took my car for a drive and knew exactly what the problem was. As I do not have much knowledge with cars, John was very patient and took the time to explain what was going on. He gave me a very fair price and had my car fixed in no time. I would absolutely recommend this shop!! Very trustworthy and wonderful staff!

I take my Golf to Motorsport GmbH for all services except for some oil changes. John is dead-on in identifying issues, such as changing transmission fluid, wheel bearing noise/replacement, replace shocks/struts, even fixing the windshield fluid sprayer for the hatch. John has maintained my car in perfect mechanical condition with 133K miles, and it is the most reliable car I've ever had. I only trust John and his crew for any "real" work that needs to be done. He and his guys are honest, helpful, and top-notch.

If you are looking for an auto repair shop in Northern NJ, I highly recommend Motorsport GmbH in Lyndhurst.I have been taking my car here for several years and they've been nothing but wonderful. While I was shopping for a new performance-oriented suspension, they were patient with me (I sent a lot of emails) and helped me pick out a great setup. This pandemic is hitting small businesses hard, so please consider supporting this local shop--it can go a long way.

Took my BMW 3 series in because the A/C stopped working. John was the mechanic who looked after me. He was very friendly, professional and courteous. He gave me an approximate wait time and cost and once everything was done it turned out he was dead on on both accounts. He was very honest about what was going on with the car and recommended the cheapest option rather than replace everything. When was the last time you encountered an auto mechanic that did that?! I would definitely recommend theses guys as they are more about helping their customers than making a quick buck which is what sets them apart in my book. Thanks again John!

I had some high-milage maintenance for my modified 2007 BMW 335i that needed to be done and thought I'd try GmbH out. John was extremely helpful letting me know what work needed to be done, and what work wasn't absolutely necessary. He did my transmission fluid replacement, engine oil and filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, and power steering fluid replacement in a timely manner. Car felt great afterwards. He did also notice that my rear shocks were leaking a little and gave me a quote, but in no way pressured me to have the work done by him or in any timeframe, which I really appreciated. My wife also needed some basic maintenance done on her 2008 Hyundai Sonata and John did a great job with her car, too.Great, quality work done on both cars.Competitive pricing.Trustworthy peopleWill be going back to get my shocks done. Highly recommended.

Own a 05 E500 Wagon. Emailed John the issues I was aware of, and asked for him to take a look. I work in NYC, so the train just up the block is handy to leave the car for a day in the week and pickup.John was great - recommended some service tasks, the usual including oil & filter change, air filter change, cabin filter change etc. In addition, John also replaced the transmission fluid, filter and replaced the transmission connector that had started leaking.I will be going back again for sure as I have found a shop that I trust and is very good on price.Cheers John!

My second visit to this place and I m not happy. The first time was for scheduled maintenance which was pretty simple and no problems. The second time was to replace a thermostat, front brakes, and an oil change. Those items were repaired but I came out with a squeaking noise like a bad belt. There were no noises when I brought my car in and now I repeatedly keep getting this noise. I was told it was the belt to the new thermostat. The guy lubed the belt and the noise returned after a few days. I returned again and the belt was replaced which I had to pay for. The noise has returned again and has gotten louder. I m told it could be the pulleys to the thermostat belt. Again I had no noises when I brought the car in and now this noise won t go away. Not only that, they are also friendly, and take the time to explain any issues, the timeframe needed for the repair, and a solid price estimate up front. I don't know where all these good reviews come from. I had an engine light on my mini. Came three times to fix it. Did not work and went to another garage that fixes my car in 30 min (wiring issue). On top of that when they changed my purge valve, they damaged my right rear fender.The only positive thing is that they paid half for it. But I still had to pay $40 for something that they broke.

The staff is professional and laid back but the best thing is their honesty.I came in for maintenance and the computer said it was time for a filter change. They replaced it. The staff later informed me the old filter was actually not old at all. They decided to leave the newly installed filter in and not charge me for parts or labor.They could have simply not told me and charged me or they could have told me, blamed the computer and charged me.

Anyone who has a bmw should come here and here only. They are super knowledgeable, polite, honest and price is perfect. Couple other places gave me a crazy estimate but got everything here fixed for a great price. Motorsport GmbH is an incredible shop. Drew and John are jam packed with knowledge about European Cars. After taking my BMW Z3 there my car felt the same as the day I drove out of the showroom. They went through my entire car; located the issues and told me what I have to take care of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Giving me the option instead of going to the dealer and just hearing you must fix these 3 things now. Extremely fair pricing is an understatement. These guys are almost HALF THE PRICE OF THE DEALER. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else again. Very Personable Guys, who know exactly what they are doing at half the price. Just Amazing! YOU COULDN'T FIND A BETTER PLACE!

I'm not sure yet, they're still working on my car as of 4/25/23. However, I'll report back and let you guys know how well they did, but for now I'll give them 3 stars but if they do well then I'll give them 5 stars. Stay tuned.

If you care about your Benz, Beemer, Audi, Porsche or VW, why would yo go anywhere else?! They know what they're doing, they're fair in pricing and work needed, and the best place to go for this. I worked for Mercedes-Benz for more than twenty years and know a lot of the independents. THIS is the place to go.
