Overall a positive experience. Appointment took a lot longer than originally anticipated, bc I elected to purchase a new set of tires, although I was also given a complimentary tire upgrade at no additional charge.

Doug is the consummate professional! His customer service is second to none. He is mindful of my busy schedule and fits me in without an appointment if he can. I have been doing business with Firestone in Livingston, NJ for over ten years and I highly recommend them!

Had my battery serviced and oil changed. Experience was good and transparent. - updated on 11/25/2023 -Had my car serviced 4 months ago. Today i found 2 out of the 5 wheel studs on the wheel they serviced broke off when I was changing winter tires. The car hasn t been touched by anyone else and has been mostly sitting in my driveway. I am pretty sure it was due to someone over tightening the lug nuts using power tool, since I also noticed the other 3 lug nuts were fairly loose and definitely not torqued to spec.Called the store, they said the manager was going to call me back but no one called. Sounds like they are not likely to take any responsibility. Called customer service of Firestone afterwards and created a case. Will see how it goes.PS. I use hand tool to loose and tighten lug nuts. I have been working on cars for 10+ years, I know what I m doing.

Doug was super helpful and informative appreciate him not being a pushy salesman like most shops. Had an appointment at 2 which they adhered to and got me in and out in an hour for an oil change, leaky tire and break check. Hard to find decent tire shops around here so I appreciated it a little more than maybe I should lol

When I got my car back, seat, steering wheel and door handle were greasy and dirty from workers. Had to ask them to clean before I got back into the car. Tires are great so far.

For me it's all about a relationship of trust. I've been coming (now I have my son coming here too) here for years, more than a decade and I know I can rely on Tomer and his great team to 1) give me the truth without padding it , 2) pay sufficient attention to my vehicles (have 3 coming here now of mine, plus my son's 2) and to do the JOB RIGHT. The past 5 decades of car ownership and maintenance have taught me that you have to have trust in your maintenance team, and I do with this Livingston Firestone team. Thank you for them ! You have great people here, starting with Tomer ! The guy is all over the shop ! I watch him and boy he's on top of things. Thanks too to EVAN who did my alignment and steering today. Please, Bridgestone, look after this team as you have a gem here. Stephen Ruckel, Chatham, NJ

I went their for oil changes and they assessed my car and provided me with possible threats in terms of brakes, wheelbase etc. Safety should always come first.

I have started going to Firestone for the last one year and I have been happy customer. They listen to all minute details and help resolve the problems with detailed information and not making a hole in my pocket.

So this morning on my way for work this happened, I drove to Firestone in Livingston close to where I work to see if they could fixed my tired, I didn't go there to purchase any tires but only to patch it up so I could go about my business.. As I got there I explained that I'm late for work if they could patch it up for me, the guy said yes, I sat down waited for 35 minutes for him to tell me that I needed 4 brand new tires, I explained once again I didn't come here for tires, he told me point blank I will have your keys back to you, if I didn't buy the tires, and he did just thatAfter waited all this long he returned my keys with no service, I feel like he could have handled it different, at that time what make him think I could afford to buy 4 brand new tires? Sometimes you have to think before refusing someone serviceGood job Firestone, good job

Had brought my car here and this is now the second time i payed over $500 for a problem they were supposed to fix but didn t. Before this time, previously they charged me around $1200 to get a gasket fixed which also they didn t fix when they said they did. If i hadn t been catching them not telling the truth it would have been a ton of money wasted. Save your money and time and go somewhere else

I want to caution others about my recent experience with this business. Unfortunately, they returned my car to me without the wheel lock, leading to a cascade of issues. A week after my visit to Firestone, I had scheduled maintenance at another shop, only to discover they couldn't perform a necessary brake job due to the missing wheel lock. This situation forced me to retrieve my car from the servicing shop and then return after obtaining the missing wheel lock. The process involved a considerable amount of time and effort, including a trip to my car dealership to identify the specific serial number required for a replacement. This ordeal stretched over several months and proved to be an unnecessary hassle.Given the inconvenience and frustration I experienced, I have decided not to return to this business for any future automotive needs.

They get a ONE star because the $1400 tires they sold me lasted two years with only ONE tire replaced under the warranty...six months after I bought them. I went back a couple of times since then and was consistently told my tires were fine that it was my digital controls that were at issue. There was no mention of any need for any tire service. Not once. I went back a month ago, and the black sales guy (I'm black, so I can call you out) told me the tires were no longer covered because I did not come in for tire service. HA! Exactly how would I know to do this?Same guy was supposed to call me and give me a price for FOUR new tires (again again) but he never bothered to call. I guess he felt they ripped me off enuff already.I will pursue this with Firestone directly.Meantime, I got two new tires from Raymonds in Newark today. AND I don't have to go to Porsche to reset the digital tire controls as i have had to do with these guys over and over. Apparently, they know what they are doing.Better to go to Porsche or go to the other extreme than to be lied to by the Firestone hacks! Not a gurls best friend...

Easy to get appointments. Prices are transparent and less waiting time. A place better than going to the dealer.

I went in for a tire rotation. My car had no other issues. I was sold on checking wheel alignment. Fine. Then I was called and told that my car's wheel alignment was off "by a lot!" and agreed to have them fix it for an additional fee. When I picked up my car and left the lot, my car was pulling hard to the right. I immediately took it back and had them fix the issue they obviously created.I've been taking my business here for years without any issues. This last time, however, I didn't recognize anyone there, and the change was not for the better.

This place gave me lot of problems, they stripped my oil filter cap, and they refused to fix it, also i bought a new tire with them, they replaced it, and one day later i noticed the screw cap of the wheels was missed, i didn t returned there to ask to don t be stressed like the last time i had a problem with them.

I have had a painful history of dealing with mechanics. Getting any kind of car service is one of my least favorite tasks. But, I m happy to have found a place I can go to confidently. This crew is amazing and James is the absolute best. They take care of me every time.

My headlight went out yesterday. I found out when I got home. Scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but they called to say they could have it done within an hour if I came in early. Great job, but Valvoline does it for a lot less money.

If I could yo give this place. No stars I would. I made my reservation online. I guess that's my fault instead of calling. But hey it's the 21st century. Got up bright and early. I had my brother meet me so I could leave my car there. And they claim there must have been a glitch and they never got my reservation. Person said they could work on it but didn't know when I'd get it back. So with that amazing offer I decided to just leave and get it done elsewhere.

This review concerns the installation of four tires I purchased from Tire Rack. I selected Firestone Complete Auto Care, located at 79 E Mt Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ, as my authorized installer from the Tire Rack website. They quoted $30.00 per tire for mounting and balancing, totaling $120 before taxes.A pertinent backstory:1.The car would need new tires within the next 10,000 miles. However, since we're planning a long-distance vacation, I opted to get new tires earlier.2. In a twist of fate, my partner hit a curb and blew out the front right tire. I met her and replaced the damaged tire with the car's tiny donut spare (handling lug nuts without issue).3. The Tire Rack shipment was delayed. To accommodate her work needs, I had Pep Boys install a full-sized budget tire as a temporary solution, intending to later use this tire as a spare (again, lug nuts were handled without issues).4. About a month ago, I had the front brake pads replaced by a local mechanic (both front wheels were taken off and put back on without any issue).Fast forward to August 24, 2023:I informed my partner that the tires had arrived, and she could head over after work for installation. They estimated a few hours for the task, so she Uber-ed home, intending for me to drive her back later. However, two hours in, a mechanic called her, stressing a significant issue: all 20 lug nuts were supposedly unusable, swollen, and a safety risk. They refused to install the new tires without replacing the lug nuts, claiming a liability issue, adding $199 to the bill. This would escalate the tire installation cost to nearly $350 after tax.Skeptical, she handed the phone to me. The mechanic reiterated the lug nut problems, mentioning they'd struggled so much they'd had to use a sledgehammer. I found this hard to believe, given my recent hands-on experience with the car's lug nuts. I recounted my personal experiences with the tires and the brake pad replacement, all involving lug nut handling without a hitch. When I requested the manager, our conversation grew heated. He firmly backed his mechanic's claims until he called back a short while later, revising his statement: only the rear lug nuts needed replacement, the front ones were now miraculously fine. Given the circumstances (the time value of money), I reluctantly agreed to a $99 fee for the 10 rear lug nuts.Upon our arrival at Firestone, I introduced myself and, when the car was completed, asked for the supposedly damaged lug nuts. To no surprise, only 1 lug nut showed significant wear.In conclusion, any savings we realized from purchasing at Tire Rack were negated by this ordeal. Also, charging $199 for 20 lug nuts is exorbitant, especially when top-rated sets are available on Amazon for $20-30. Even the OEM prices on Ford's website are roughly $7 per lug nut, totaling $140, not $199.I'm convinced they attempted to exploit my partner's limited auto knowledge, emphasizing the alleged "safety issue" of the lug nuts. Without my intervention, we would've unnecessarily spent an additional $100. Even so, our total cost for tire installation totaled $230.It's strongly advisable to steer clear of establishments like Firestone in Livingston, NJ that might exploit those less versed in auto mechanics. Consider this: if such a shop overcharges five customers a day by $200, which they attempted, that's an extra $1,000 per day or approximately $230,000 annually, assuming a normal business schedule.Adding insult to injury, the mechanic left a grease stain on the front seat, despite my partner having cleaned her car thoroughly over the weekend in anticipation of our trip. I am convinced he did this out of spite. I am attaching a picture of the dirty seat. This is where bad auto repair shop stereotypes come from. I'll also be informing Tire Rack of this experience, and leaving this same review on their website.BEWARE!

I have used these guys for a year now and have had various repairs done in that time. I have waited there for my work and I hear customers talking to them with such disrespect , these guys still respond kindly and tell them we will get you in as soon as possible. This is a busy location and these guys can only work as fast as they can. The parking lot is always full which to me says a lot. I have so far never had an issue and want to tell the staff thank you and please keep up the good work.

I love this Firestone location- the staff is really nice, attentive and listen to what you're needs are. They don't drive sales down your throat or try to rip you off with unnecessary services. They're not as booked & busy as other locations I've been to so it's nice to be in and out for what you need done.

Got my wheel alignment done here. Doug was really helpful. It gets packed, and availability may be limited, so call ahead of time. I would definitely recommend them.

I think the service quality over the years has deterioted severely. To be specific - 1. avoid their lifetime wheel alignment package. 2. Tesla owners stay away if lifting up your car is needed. Not sure if there's new management recently but -- 4 years ago I got my tesla model 3 and bought a lifetime wheel alignment package. Did 3~4 tire rotations and 2 wheel alignment the following two years. Provided them the jack pad required for lifting the car to avoid battery damage and oh man so arrogant they never used it. After 2nd rotation I can see damage to my car's underfloor. After that, I always stuck the jack pads before handing over my key card to them.- 2 years ago, I got new tires installed so need to do wheel alignment. Then sudently, they started to tell me they cannot do wheel alignment on my car due to special software on the model 3. I requested refund of my lifetime wheel alignment package and they refused. A year later, also my very last time I went in, I went in for a tire rotation and asked for wheel alignment again, hoping they got upgraded equipment this time. The guy said no problem but then proceed to NOT align my wheels... (I know it because every time wheel alignment was done, I was provided a data sheet. This time I asked for it, the guy said the mechanic threw it away...).I cannot trust these guys any more. So stay away.

I was pleasantly surprised how great these guys were. I had been to 2 other repair shops about a vibration in my brakes and one place said they didn't think there was any vibration, and the other place wanted to charge me $850 to put new rotors and pads on. The guys at Firestone squeezed me in without an appointment even though they were crazy busy and within a few hours had diagnosed the problem. $90 later I was on the road and the brakes felt like new. It's so refreshing to have competent, friendly and professional service without being upsold a bunch of stuff I don't need. Thank you guys, I'll definitely be back for any repair issues I have in the future!!
