Do not believe all the negativity these people do not know what they're talking about this transmission place is one of the best in the State of New Jersey. I had my transmission rebuilt my truck runs like new They did it fast and at a reasonable price I recommend this shop for all your transmission needs.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I went a shop my car sat there for a month I was told I needed a new transmission. I told the mechanic I just got it changed a year ago . He told me don't know what to tell you it's going to run you 3 grand . So I decide to take it to amber transmission gave them the keys headed home 30 minutes later I get a call hey come back where done turns out it was only the linkage cable that was rusted . Now that honesty instead of charging me 3k like the other guy they charged me 75 bucks . Now when ever i have a transmission issue I go to them and recommend them to everyone .

I'm extremely pleased with the repair work on the transmission of my Chevy Impala. Gary and Staff were very PROFESSIONAL, HONEST, INFORMATIVE, KIND AND FAIR. I rate Amber Transmission with 5 stars and they truly deserve it. My husband Michael and i really appeciated being treated like we mattered as customers because great customer service means everything. Thanks for AWESOME service.

Truly the most dishonest, cheap, waste of time mechanic out there. How do you have transmissions in your businesses name yet don t even know how to change one? This business stole my families money after not doing the work that was agreed upon after telling us that it was fixed. a couple weeks later our car is breaking down and we re told by a TRUSTWORTHY mechanic that the transmission was never touched and just PAINTED ON. sounds like a joke right? i think not, this guy Gary is a scam and wouldn t recommend him for anything , not even a tire change.

All I can say is a big Thank you to the guys at this transmission shop. They truly are in a class by themselves in providing you honest advice when your car let's you down in a major way. I shopped around for a good three weeks looking to get my Honda Odyssey back on the road with many estimates over 4 and 5 thousand. A few places told me to junk the vehicle all together it wasn't worth the time or effort to fix. That being said , I happened to be driving down Rte 1 making my way home one afternoon and I saw a sign that said Amber Transmission in Linden and figured let me stop and see what they would say about my vehicle or at the very least maybe get some free advice to what my options were. I have to say I was surprised when I received an estimate to fix my vehicle that I could actually feel comfortable paying. No upsell, extras, or hidden costs. There is a reason Amber Trans has been in business 20 + years, I believe that reason is because they simply are an honest , professional, automotive repair shop that is second to none. Shop around and do your homework on your repair costs and make that last call to this shop. I can only speak from my experience but I would be willing to bet money your gonna get a fair and honest estimate. Thank you Mr Amber and the guys!!!!!lol

Same exact experience as most of the other reviews here. It seems to be a pattern at this place to charge $1500 for transmission repairs and parts replacement but you are billed for repairs that didn't actually happen. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to pay $1500 for a "repair" that will only last a month. Find a reputable repair shop instead.

Gary is the niceness mechanic ive ever met ...his workers are very professional...I'll recommend anyone having transmission problems go see them ...and the price is unbelievable

Gary said he repalced my entire transmition...in reality he just kept changing the clutch and kept painting it so it looked new, i recently had it taken apart by my local mechanic and he said this was the original cars transmission and that no one had touched it since factory. A $1,500 Job which took over a year since I kept taking it back, he decided to lie to my face and say he was trying everything he could. Will take him to court.P.s: he also ended up doing the same thing with my buddy s delivery companies van. Don t waste your time

All I have to say is that the owner is a thief... I don t know how he is in business still... PEOPLE THIS GUY IS NOT HONEST!!!! Me and my husband took that car more than 7 times for the same problem... after paying towing companies to take the car there... he charged us $1500 to change transmission that still is broken... I took the car to another transmission shop and they told me I still have the original transmission in there and that transmission did not look like it was ever changed...Please don t waste your time or your money with this thief...

I will definitely take my car to these guy again. they were quick, they were thorough, they were helpful.More importantly, they are HONEST, and wont charge you for unnecessary repairs, unlike some other garages.

I did not get my transmission fixed here. However the gentleman was very friendly, professional and gave me a fair price. [I bought a new car considering I had a lot of things that needed to be fixed.]

Gary is Not a HONEST person... he does not know what the hell is talking about. He will look like he knows what he is talking about but in reality he does not... he is a thief and I don t know how he is still in business...Gary stop stealing money from people... try to make a living without taking people money...

This place is a joke... i took 2 of my company vehicles there And Gary charged for new transmission that was never changed .... DO NOT GO THERE!!! He is a thief and will lie to your face......
