***This is a reply to the owner s commentI only recall that I came 3 times. The first time I asked for the prices of parts and labors which you checked on your computer in 5 minutes. I didn t have money to pay for the parts so I postponed it. The second time you had a glance at the car and said that I need to replace some parts which took 2 minutes from your time. The third is when you refused to help. I can t recall the other 2 times. However, the most important thing is that I have never asked you to test the car or do more elaborate diagnosis as I know there may be small probability that I may not be able to pay and I didn t want to waste your time or effort. I usually try not to use people in a bad manner.Also, you didn t ask for money for such quick questions. However, if you have asked for money I would have paid you. Remember that I asked you the last time if you want money and I will pay you whatever money you want and you refused.Anyway this is a good information for every new customer that the customer have to pay the owner money if you want to ask him about the prices or have a glance without doing any elaborate work.Thanks for your help and concern to take time to reply to my review.

Two days ago 8/22/23. I went to this mechanic shop, not knowing what to expect. I recently moved to jersey City and needed a good mechanic shop. My Alternator in Volkswagen Jetta went bad and needed to be replaced. The mechanic Ahmed.. was super professional, he took the keys to my car then took my number to call me with an estimate. The price was fair and reasonable after doing a research on other shop prices . I went back two days later the alternator was installed and he applied warrantee which shows good cutomer service. For me i would highly recommend going to Amed shop. Really, really good customer service and very thorough.

Pulled up for a muffler problem and price estimate and was not disappointed the gentleman by the name of Ahmed is very polite and professional, prices are very good from my experience with other locations by far the cheapest , he replaced my muffler (SUV) with a brand new one and added air to my tires for a very good pricing I can't complain and I asked multiple questions about parts and he shared his knowledge with me which I appreciated very respectful man and business I'm going back very soon I saw honesty in him when I asked to install a part for me he explained that it was a different part I needed instead of robbing me for my money he was very honest and shared what was actually needed I respect that highly . Overall great business and I will definitely be coming here from now on . Oh and btw this man does not play he gets to work right away he got me in and out in no less then 30minutes his time management is remarkable.Services: Exhaust, Auto exhaust system repair

Ahmed is very professional and tells you exactly what the problem is, he doesn t over charge and his work is guaranteed. Had my brakes done and he replaced a faulty belt tension pulley as well as the serpentine belt. My car is running perfectly! Wasn t over charged or told any false information. I highly recommend his services.

I purchased a car over the weekend and visited this place to have the muffler replaced as it was rotted. The person I spoke with wanted to "diagnose" the problem, according to their signage a $75 charge. I told him the muffler needed replacement nothing else. So please quote me on that. He came up with a price of $350It seemed like a steep price so I declined to have the repair done. I then ordered the muffler on Amazon for $70 (a known brand name in exhaust products) and was going to diy it myself with clamps, but I decided against that and went to a muffler shop in Queens and got it installed for $80 in about 15 minutesPart $70, labor $80, tolls $11.75 = way less than $350

Service was amazing and surprisingly fast. I would definitely recommend. Took my car elsewhere and they could not diagnose it. Brought it to Meineke and all he did was get in the car for a drive and returned with the diagnosis. Just like that, very impressive.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

Ahmed, the owner was very good. He quickly put my Porsche Cayenne up, inspected the exhaust, offered me a solution with genuine parts and we were done in 30 minutes max. But my Nissan truck needed a oil change , that I decided to take it there . Needed my oil changed and scheduled an appointment.PROs:1. Arrived early and they took me right away.2. The staff is nice.3. Job was done within ten minutesCons:1. They do not accept/ participate with company issued coupons. $24 oil change coupon issued to me after booking appointment.When I arrived they informed me of their policy of not participating. Imagine my surprise and disappointment.2. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! total bill came out to $74 rather than the expected $24 with coupon or $46-$50 elsewhere.Here's where they get you, When reviewing the bill they charged me $20 for labor. $10 labor x2. Don't understand why they charged me twice for a one person job.In Conclusion: Staff is nice, but prepare yourself to be Disappointed with the "fine print" and expect to spend $10 for every employee you talk too.Unfortunately, I Won't be returning.

I am happy to leave a review for Meineke and especially the manager. I have gone in there a couple of times a years for the past few years. He has always been so kind to me and been more than helpful to take care of whatever my car need was. I really appreciate him and know when I left out my car had been taken care of with expertise and professionalism.Alma

Came here for alignment and balancing and I was satisfied with the service. I also had a tire with a slow leak but although it seemed like it was fixed after driving about an hour my low pressure light came back on. I called and spoke with the boss and he told me to bring my car back, so all and all I will be back in the next few days to get that taken care of. The service was prompt and my main problem with my car was addressed.

I always come here. Ahmed is the best. His prices are fair he doesn't try to rob you. I might say I need breaks and oil change.He tells me no I only need an oil change. I appreciate his honestly. He's Always professional and respectful. I'm always satisfied when I leave. I give this Meineke location 10 stars. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning

I booked an online appointment for diagnostic because I hear a noise when I go over bumps. When I arrived, the man that works there asked me if it's making the noise right now and I told him it's only when going over bumps. He then told me that there's nothing he can do. I asked if he could do the diagnostic and he said, "No, because I won't find anything". I told him I also felt scrubbing when braking. His phone rang and he walked away to answer it and just left me standing there. I don't understand what made him behave so rudely towards me and why he didn't even offer to take the car for a test ride over some bumps to hear the sound or feel the scrubbing. At first I was upset, but then I realized, oh well....someone else will get my money. Not sure if the owner would be OK with workers turning people away when they come in for service. I will never visit Meineke again though.

We've been bringing our car here for a few years now. It's a hard to find a place you can trust your car with. Ahmed is an outstanding person. He's very honest and only charges what needs to be done. Because of this, we brought our family members car here too.

Ahmed is straightforward. He's not trying to over sell anything. Had what ended up being multiple exhaust leaks and he just cut and fixed what was needed. Also came out to less than what I had expected.

They are very patient, kind, and understand your situations. They use the real manufacturer parts instead of off the market brands. That is cool but the repairs can be costly. Their labor alone can run into the 200's so it helps if you have a credit card. They respect you and your car will be ready to go the day you bring it in because they fix it right away once they get your parts delivered. I like them but I hope my car don't break down often cause it can be costly. But the good news is your car is done the right way and the work is guaranteed. Bottom line is I feel safe when they fix my car cause I dont have to go back with the same problems twice.

I went to meineke because I had gotten quotes from other places to get all of my brake pads replaced that was $600 and upward (not including tax and NJ tax...well you know). I saw they were having a 50% sale for brakes so I decided to go to them. I waited in the office area and no one came to the desk. After a few minutes I went to my car and called them. Tdd him i needed new brake pad, he confirmed the sale I saw advertised, and he told me to come by. I came back. Waited a couple more minutes. Finally the guy came to the office area. After working out details, it took about 2 and a half hours for them to replace my brake pads.I paid $375 including tax which is a lot cheaper than the $680 quote I received from another place. I would recommend this place if you are getting brake pads done even if it isn't on sale. It's a lifetime warranty so when they wear out again, they will replace the pads for free!!! My only suggestion for them would be to hire someone to work at the desk so customers aren't waiting a long time in the office area.Update: Went yesterday for full synthetic oil change. $90 including labor. Their work is always good! HOWEVER, they desperately need someone to work at the front desk. Each time I've been there, a customer has walked out without getting serviced because no one was at the front desk. The place could also use a deep cleaning and organization in the customer/office area.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Outstanding customer service! Definitely take your vehicle here if you'd like to receive excellent customer service. Exhaust manifold had a hole, took it there to get it welded. Price is a little higher than a mom and pop but the service they provide is definitely worth that premium. While they had my vehicle somehow my left rear tire had a leak. Took it back there and they replaced my tire!

I wish I was writing a pleasant review, because I like to give credit where it is due, but alas, I am not. I had terrible service here as a car owner. Not only were they not transparent with the pricing of oil changes, ( they charged a fee for the supposedly "free service" of a tire rotation for an added price of $17.95 on top of the $69.99 full synthetic oil change) one of their workers forcefully jammed my key into my switch cylinder, and bent the teeth inside, so now my keys won't open my door. I took it back to them and told them that my car isn't the way it was when I left it, and they tried saying that it was my keys that have worn out, but out of three years of my keys behaving perfectly normal, the day I go to these guys and get an oil change, they up-charge and mess up my key cylinder. I understand that for other people, these guys might be a good deal, but for others, it is not. Favoritism doesn't really work well in the service world. You should treat every customer equally, not some good and some bad. I will not be coming here anymore, you have lost a loyal customer. Maybe not all Meinekes are bad, but this one in particular isn't as professional and up to standard as I would have thought this franchise to be. Up your game.

I have a old car and they discontinued the exhaust pipe that I needed. Went to Meineke and they customized the pipe for me. Wait time was about 30 minutes and the job was done. Price was good. Very happy with the job. Thank you.

Very bad, this person didn t listen carefully to the problem to fix. He didn t has any experience for his job. My car problem is with the brake system light turns on. So it s electric problem. But he changed the brakes and router ( I already changed the brakes 5 months ago witch is new). When I ask him why he changed nothing wrong with it. He said yes they good. It means he s not honest. After changing brakes still the problem on. He started to give a different explanation to cover his mistakes. That s no good I recommend nobody use this shop. I ll not use it any more.Service: Brake service & repair

I m a very satisfied customer bringing my car needs to this Meineke auto shop. Ahmed and his mechanics were very tentative to the problem my car was having since it failed state inspection. They thoroughly performed diagnostics testing for the Check Engine Light & repaired my Oxygen sensor together with Oil change. So now it passed the state inspection and will keep coming to this shop for my car maintenance and any repairs. Thank you!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

I came to Meineke to fix my car about a month ago. The car check engine light came on and I needed to have that fix in order to have it inspected by NJ inspection department. Mr. Ahmad, who is the manager of the shop was the one dealing with my car. First, he stated that the car had an exhaust pipe leak. So, we proceeded to have that replaced and he reset the check engine light. In less than two weeks, the light came back on. I called Mr. Ahmad to explain what happened, he asked me to bring the car back. So I brought the car back and he ran a test on the car and stated that it might be the catalytic converter. However, he noticed that there was a leak again in the exhaust pipe that we replaced ( brand new) a few weeks ago. Mr. Ahmad took the car to fix the exhaust pipe and reset the check engine light once again. In less than a week the Check engine light came back on. I called him once again and he told me that if I am bringing the car to him and If he has to take a look at it, that I would have to make an additional payment, which I highly disagreed. He continued to tell me that he doesn t want to look at anyone s car if they are not going to fix something on the car because it s time and money wasted for him. How can you call yourself a manager for a prestigious company such as Meineke and all you are after is money. If a customer brings there car for service and if the service rendered previously less than thirty days, there should be warranty for that car shop to fix the car again without any further charges for the customer. I also told Mr. Ahmad to fix my air conditioner because it was not bringing adequate cool air and Mr. Ahmad supposedly said that he fixed the air conditioner. Within the hour of receiving my car back, the air conditioner was not cooling at all. I brought the car back to him and he proceeded to fix it once again. A few weeks later, there was an issue with the air conditioner. I called Mr. Ahmad and he was extremely rude. He told me that what s wrong with the car is the driver and proceeded to laugh. He continued to state that I should have my head fixed instead of the car. This shop should be shut down. He has no customer service skills. He is rude and is only after customers money without providing good services. He requested that I should go to his other affliction, which is the Meineke located on 700 Tonnelle Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07307. Mr. Ahmad s mechanic shop is located on 1613. John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey city, NJ 07305.How can a car mechanic refuse to fix a customers car after she paid for services on a replacement for an exhaust pipe and air conditioner. I DO NOT recommend this shop at all. Mr. Ahmad also charges so much for a oil change as to other Meineke stores. He does not honor the Meineke coupons that are listed on there websites. When asked why, he states that he has nothing to do with Meineke. That he s shop is independently owned. If so, then the coupon should state otherwise.Mr.Ahmad is a very rude man and I urge everyone not to ever go to this shop located at: 1613 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey city, NJ 07305 for any car services. I highly rate his services as ZERO. He is the worst.

I came here a year ago cause i was hearing this strange sound in my engine. After testing drive my car, i was ready for the bad news and cost to fix problem. It turned out to be a loose nut that needed tightening. He could have charged me an arm and a leg , like most places. I was charged only $35 .Thats why i came back to this shop. The Mrg was very welcoming and made me feel at ease knowing my car will be in good hands. I dropped off my car to get the TMS and bearings replaced. My go to mechanic moving forward.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair

I went to put in my active exhaust simulator to get rid of my engine light the man in charge said I didn t need it and welded my exhaust valves open and said it would clear my engine light. After it was done I asked did it clear my engine light his response was yes. I get in my car my engine light is clearly on. My thing is if you weren t sure it was going to work, why did you even do it. I don t like the fact that he lied, $60 waisted and I still have an engine light on. I would of respect it more if he just said I don t know how to fix this I definitely won t be coming back here and it sucks because it s very close to home I ll try the one on Tonnelle Ave.Service: Exhaust
