I've had every car I have ever owned serviced and repaired with Picas service center. They have addressed every issue I have ever had. Just had brakes done on my 2008 Expedition. I new the fronts were shot and maybe the rears as well. I asked him to check out both. Mark could have very easily have hit me for the rear breaks but told me they had plenty of life left and only replaced the front pads and rotors as I asked. Didn't charge me for what I didn't need. I appreciated the honesty.

Exemplary mechanics that take pride in their work!Picas service center offers honest, efficient, professional and prompt service always. The mechanics are exemplary, they take pride in their work. They take their time and focus on the job at hand and are very proficient. They maintain my two Mercedes 2017 and 2021 and a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

Mark is dishonest or an opportunist at best. $1200 dollars for research? What is that 400 an hour? This shop will do the job and you will pay based on how much you need the service, the make and model of your car and Mark's personal evaluation on how well you know the car repair market.

I had my breaks changed by this place twice. The problem persisted for a long time after that. I had them looked at by 3 other mechanics and all of them said the problem is the type of breaks that were installed by this Pica character. I am not going to pay another thousand dollars to get changed a THIRD TIME.Because of this place I had to buy a totally new car, although it was my choice to buy a new car, I couldn t look at my old car without being exquisitely annoyed and reminded of the experience. I don t recommend anyone here anymore although i used. The only person I liked here was the younger gentleman, Nelson. He was honest and I preferred him. I felt swindled by the owner tbh. I am sure he will respond to this message and say some kind of explanation but hey, there s a reason these less than ideal reviews are there. There is truth to them.

0 stars. Very arrogant and extremely greedy owner! I had my car towed to his shop so he believed he charge anything for it. Was charging me twice the labor at $200/hour cause I bought my own part. He was arrogant to tell me that! Gave me an estimate of $400 to put in my new alternator. A complete con artist and tries to rip people off! I went through the hassle to get in towed again to a different shop. I got it fixed for 1/4th the cost. Wouldn't advice anyone to go here.

Nelson is an amazing mechanic and the owner is pretty nice too. They know their job and charge reasonable prices. I have shopped around in a limited capacity at other places but this has been the best job and the most reasonably priced.

Pica's Auto is one of a kind. I, inevitably, have moved quite often in the last 7 years for my college degrees and have had many experiences with mechanics. Upon moving to Jersey City only a few months ago, I needed some work done on my Toyota. Mark was amazing! Always quick to answer the phone, always kind and helpful. The work was done exceptionally well and fast! They worked around my busy schedule. As a student, it is very important I have a working car to get to class, and even more so, have a good deal. Mark was very cost conscious and understanding of how tight money is. He was honest and very fair. I recommend him to everyone! Thank you Mark.

He said he'd give me a great price through the phone. I towed my car to him and told him to change my alternator. He tells me $720 when everyone else offers me $350 - $500. I tell him never mind and he insisted I pay a diagnostic fee. What diagnostics, I told you what needs to be done. He's buying the part for $250 when I can buy the part for $80-$120 with warranty. I told him I'd bring my own part he said he's gonna bump up the hourly labor cost & if I left my car overnight $50. I pushed my car out of there and therefore you deserve a 1 star. I had a terrible experience and I'm never coming back there again. Mark was taking advantage because my car wasn't starting. Some people had a good experience, I had the worst, I wish you the best of luck if you go here.

My car started smoking feet before the Lincoln tunnel, literally. These guys diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and had me up and running the next day! Mark is super friendly - even picked me up at the Path Station and he took the time to explain what exactly happened to my car. His prices were more than fair and he was transparent with his costs.I don't live in the area, but if you live in Jersey City or your car dies at one of the tunnels - Pica's Automotive Service Center is the place to go.

The best automotive service I've ever worked with. Highly recommend for any repairs on your vehicle. They worked on my car and walked me through every step in detail, multiple times. Excellent customer service. Mark, the owner, is very experienced and prices very reasonably. I will definitely work with him again in the future.

Mark @ Picas is a gem. My car was a disaster, it had a manufacturer defect and a blown engine. He gave me great diagnostic advice and even got on the phone to the dealership and ended up saving me thousands of dollars. He's super knowledgeable and honest. People, take your cars there.

Had my windshield smashed and need a replacement within a day or two. I called around many auto centers in the area and Mark was the only one who said he could do it for me in time. I met with him, and there were complications with delivering some of the parts. He drove to get the parts himself because he had told me it would be ready no matter what. He is great! You won't get that type of personal service with any one else!

I've been scammed by mechanics previously, so my father brought me to Pica's Automotive after a mechanic gave me an estimate for almost $1000. Mark looked at the list and showed me personally what actually needed to be fixed and what didn't. Mark is honest, reliable and kind. He always explains what is going on and takes pride in his work. This past time, he was able to squeeze me in with very short notice and finished my car that day. I was skeptical about mechanics, but now that I found Pica Automotive I know I can trust Mark and his staff. Thank you Pica Automotive!

$70 versus $268??? What's not to love? We've a 2006 Prius, and one headlight burned out. One of the local dealers - no naming names - said it would be $150 for the part, plus an hour of labor at $118. A call to Ziggy's Auto Body down the road from us got a recommendation for Pica's, and Ziggy had been great with suggesting who to go to for a quality but low-cost windshield fix a few months back. Stopping by Pica's I found a satisfied customer waiting to pick up his car, who said he'd been coming back for 25 years, which was a good sign. An even better sign was that Mark Pica found a bulb and fixed the light for $70. Needless to say, we'll be going back for lights, brakes and general service. Not only does it feel good to patronize friendly, competent, smaller local businesses, it costs less and gets the job done faster. Go, Pica's!!!

Customer Service is all about experience on the first encounter, I took my car to this garage based on the reviews I read, ignoring the bad reviews thinking this would never happen to me. Yet what Mr. Ahmed Elzoghabi experienced, I just went thru in the same manner today. My car needed to be checked out because I got towed recently and my car's ride felt damaged and not correct. I took my car to here get inspected, the mechanic who took my car in Nelson was really nice friendly and took care of everything promptly, he is a positive at this place. I brought it on a thursday expecting to hear from them on Friday, but instead I had to call in and see whats up myself on Friday. I work in the music industry so my voicemail is always full, so its funny when someone tells me they called and left a message, when I called in the owner stated just that lol. I spoke to the owner and he told me my cluster wasnt able to read or connect with the equipment they had but the owner felt certain things needed to get fixed which might be the air suspension but until that computer scan was done they couldnt be 100% certain, being a mercedes owner I knew we needed a proper read out. He asked me if I was gonna pick up the vehicle I told him I needed to get this checked out, find out what really needs to get done and get repaired asap so once he can tell me a proper diagnostic on the complete vehicle then we can start from there, the owner told me he needed more time to be certain and that they close to the apparent time of our convo was + the weekend but by Monday he would know. So I allowed my car to be there over the weekend since I was in manhattan and could not pick up the car in time before they close. On monday I went ready for the final evaluation and to begin on some of the work but instead the mechanic told me they had to get a guy from mercedes to come with his scanner and I wouldnt be charged for the inspection just for labor if they begin to do work on the vehicle. On monday I stopped by twice to see if the action was carried out. At the end of the day the mercedes guy still didnt come. I went today to find out I have a bill for $274.00 from the owner. "There was never a mercedes guy" just another person with another scanner and that my story is irrelevant because his "guy worked on the vehicle, but did nothing to my vehicle because of the computer of a bad cluster. The owner has a sign of minimum $35.00 per hour but instead of charging me at the lowest rate for "work he did, but did not do because my car computer wouldnt allow it" LOL pure joke. But wait it gets even funnier he said he would "take care of me when I came back" why would anyone come back after such a horrid experience I told him as a business owner he could make a difference today and not up charge me the most if couldnt do anything to service the vehicle but he instead chose to kill me with a high bill and charge me with a smile. For the thousands of you that follow me on social media, I always uphold my truths and experiences with exposing what I went thru. When I spoke to the owner about the clear miscommunication, he didnt answer my question how much service charge was per hour until I picked up the car and since I didnt do the work there. I also spoke to him how he should be consumer friendly due to the blurred lines of communication and reduce my bill for "work that was done, but not done" category he would not change it all instead he wanted to make sure his speech got heard instead of taking course of action and helping me, he could of charged me for an hour of labor and inspection but instead he decided on carrying on what he saw on the first for an additional couple more just to make that money without my consent. I cant believe people these days. He also wouldnt honor his discount coupon he has online for service maybe because I was "charged for service that he could not service my car" So regardless of his response towards here yelp or any other site this is what I went thru today with this place. Remember I thought this would never happen LOL

BEWARE This hack shop poaches jobs from certified AAA locations. They offer no AAA warranty. The elderly fellow working on my vehicle was not familiar with modern car systems and fried my computer. Had to get it towed to an actual shop at my cost. BEWARE.

A really excellent experience, and Keith explained exactly what had happened to an old car, and explained what to keep an eye on in the close future. His detailed written account laid out everything in good detail. Perhaps though the most impressive factor was that I was looking after a friend's car that had broken down on the way to the airport. Keith was good enough to phone my friend in New Zealand to discuss the repair strategy.

This shop is a rip off. They charged me 3 times what the job really cost using my situation that i wasnt from the area and needed my car to get home in different state. And after all it didnt solve the problem and I had to to call AAA to tow it to another shop that actually fixed the issue. Shop owner is a crook. Avoid this place.

One of our vehicles broke down after a road trip minutes before entering the tunnel to NYC. We ended up at Pica's which is located very close to where we stopped. At first they seemed too busy or uninterested in helping us with our issue, but by the end of the visit we had received valuable advice as well as a solution to our issue, and all for an extremely reasonable price!

Mark pressured me into a bunch of research and additional repairs when I knew only the Manifold sensor needed To be replaced. No need to bully people into doing work. Went to wrench brothers instead. Focus on the critical reviews and don t let this business rationalize their nonsense.
