Have brought my '16 jeep wrangler here twice for different work ups, both times had a great outcome and assistance, its tough finding a place that'll align my jeep with its lift & wheels, glad this place is local & able to help!

Overall my experience with The 4x4 Place was a very positive one and I plan on going back there if I ever need or want any other work done. I've gotten to spend some time with my truck now since the work got done and I'm happy with the performance of the truck on and off road. The only two complaints that I have are that they gave me an old clearly very used wheel lock key rather than the brand new that would come with a wheel lock kit. Instead of putting on the turn stops that come with the BDS kit they welded metal on the control arms which explains why my steering wheel will turn further to one side than the other. I wouldn't have minded their solution for stopping the wheels from turning too far if they fine tuned it with a dremel or a grinder a little bit more rather than just welding it on and calling it done. There is absolutely nothing I would have done with those turn stops but I did pay for them so it would have been nice to at least have them offered to me.Regardless I think they did a great job and I recommend them to everybody who compliments the truck. I run their sticker on my back window too so everyone on the road knows where to take their business

***Read*** I am out of $2000 for an all-around horrific job. I brought my JK in for a tuneup, Days later, I was called by Andrew the owner, Suggesting while they were in there and had everything apart That they change my oil cooler as these are known to need repair sooner than later in my Jeep model. Although I did not have any known or told issues with my oil cooler, trusting their knowledge as Jeep experts I agreed. A day or so later I received another call saying that a valve cover was cracked and needed to be repaired as well. Once again, extremely annoyed, I had no choice, but to agree to that repair as well. About six days in total I finally received my Jeep; A couple days later, I noticed my Jeep was smoking and smelled like oil and taking a look inside. I noticed that there was an active drip of oil from the New valve cover on the passenger side, dripping onto the catalytic converter. Immediately called Andrew and was met with a very condescending tone saying that it must ve been left over from the job itself. I wiped the area clean and took it for a drive. I also took before and after pictures and there was a clear active drip. I called Andrew again and hesitantly he agreed to check my truck out again and discovered that there was indeed a drip. After another three days of them having my truck I finally received it and was told that he oversaw the job himself, made sure that all of the bolts were torqued down in the proper order and that I will have no more issues with the drip, to which I have not. Flash forward less than three months later my truck is not running properly and also not getting to operating temperature. Thermostat was changed and the issue was not resolved assuming it may have been a clog or something similar and knowing how long it takes the 4 x 4 place to return vehicles even for relatively small jobs I went to another reputable Mechanic in my area and was told that the oil cooler was bad and needed to be replaced. Having just had it replaced three months ago I called Andrew, assuming this will be under warranty which he stated that it would be if it was indeed the oil cooler; brought my truck in And after almost a week of them having my truck, they told me that the new thermostat was faulty AND whoever did the oil change left the oil filter loose causing a small leak (4x4 was the last to do the oil change as part of all this work as well) and the oil cooler was perfectly fine; And without my permission they replaced the thermostat again. I received a phone call saying that my truck was running great again and it was ready to be picked up and because of my work schedule they left the key for me and I was able to pick up my truck after hours. Driving home is about a 20 minute ride and The temperature gauge never rose above the quarter mark when the truck was not running properly; check engine light came on again for low oil temp and open thermostat Completely frustrated, the next day I brought the truck to a third mechanic whom I did not tell I had any of the prior work done on the truck; To see what his conclusion would be. The determination was that the oil cooler was not only faulty, it was improperly installed, and actually loose upon inspection. (The mechanic asked me if I had tried to install it myself because he was in disbelief that an actual shop could do such a hack job)So here I am out of the money I paid to the 4 x 4 place and out even more money to have their destructive job corrected.I am giving them two stars even through all of my frustration Because a couple years ago, the first job I ever went to them for was the death wobble and they corrected that perfectly. This is an honest review from my experience with them. The choice is yours.

Worst experience I ve ever had with a shop in my entire life. I was told my rig would be done by the end of the week that I dropped it off, wasn t even touched by end of week and didn t receive it till the night before I had a trip which was over a month later. Came time to pick it up and was charged an absolutely outrageous price of $2800 to my surprise when originally being told half that. I picked up at night because I needed it for a trip the next morning and couldn t see the work done due to it being dark but trusted the shop so paid cash and loaded it up. Big mistake. The next morning looking over rig I was completely speechless by the terrible work done. Shock mounts cut in half and rewelded back together to fit new shocks rather than asking me during the entire month they had my rig if I wanted new shock mounts instead which I obviously would have chose instead. Brake lines not remounted after being taken off, places ground down for welding grounds not repainted with paint after. Clearly a completely rushed job with a $2800 bill. I then contacted the owner, Andrew, about the situation and he seemed to understand my disappointment and agreed it was unacceptable and promised me a partial refund when I got back from my wknd trip and to just enjoy my vacation in the meantime. When I got back and contacted him again he then went back on his word and refused a refund. This was all after using this shop multiple times in past and being a customer for quite a few years back to when Andrew s father ran it. I have sent many people here in the past. I had to end up taking my rig to another shop to get the work done right after spending $2800 here. Extremely disappointing I would suggest avoiding at all costs.

Great guys that know their stuff. Came in for diff cover replacement which were installed with no issue and fast. I mentioned to one of the mechanics of a possible radiator leak I was having. He took a look at it in the parking lot and fit me into their busy schedule that same day to solve my issue. Highly recommend and I will be coming back

I've always had excellent work done here, from V8 swap in a wrangler to full custom coilover suspension, to axles swaps, you name it. The staff have also helped me sell used parts and made excellent recommendations on work I can do myself on my rigs. When they hold customer appreciation rides they are first in, last out, making sure everyone is taken care of, spotted over obstacles, and challenged. I'll be back for work on my next rig. Highly recommend them.

Wish I checked this place out sooner. Andrew is super knowledgeable and they build all kinds of random sweet rigs. Even off road trailers! Cool spot!

I bought an Eibach Pro suspension lift for my Toyota 4Runner and needed to have it installed. Called them and they installed it perfectly. Very nice guys and easy to deal with. They did great work!

I spent a week trying to identify an annoying thunking sound, took it here and they figured out it was a loose shock bolt in under a minute. The most knowledgeable guys around when it comes to Jeeps, and outstanding fabricators. If you can imagine it, they can build it. Did my roll cage, new axles, onboard air, long arm lift, and countless other mods.

I found this shop through the local Jeep club I m in as I was looking for a good shop not too far that could do some work after getting my lift put on and some infamous death wobble issues. The guys were super helpful, kind and fully explained what the problem was and what they recommended to be done. As a fairly new Jeep owner I m still learning about parts, suspension, etc. and they were very helpful and respectful. They did a lot of work and completed it fast and at a reasonable price. They did a fantastic job and I will now be a regular customer.

2019 Tundra brought in to replace upper control arms (alignment) / bump stops/ check exhaust flange (rusted broken bolts). I was beyond satisfied with the work. I dropped off on a Thursday night and had it back by Friday afternoon. They know what they're doing and provided professional service. I'll be back if/when I decide to do anything else to my truck.

My wife and I have been taking our cars here for almost 10 years and we wouldn't trust our cars with any one else. They always do quality work and their service charges are very reasonable. It's a pleasure doing business with their dedicated team of highly skilled mechanics. They always explain my car's problems and let me know beforehand what the solution will be, how long it will take and how much it will cost. They were recommended to me by one of my friends and I've been loyal to them ever since. Take my advice, don't be fooled, if you love your car as much as I love mine, you'll love the service here.

Andrew (jr) runs a bad business. Andrew (sr) took my truck project , and my money. They took my running vehicle and left me a pile of parts. Andrew (jr) After 2 years of deceit and excuses, refused to return my money , or complete the project. If you have visited this business , you would have noticed a black 1988 Toyota 4Runner sitting out front. There are many pictures of it sitting there and it s condition. Their hack job made so that no other company wanted to touch the mess they left. Rendering the truck useless . To this day Andrew refuses to accept responsibility and make right the situation he caused. He did not honor signed contracts for work , and returned the vehicle worse off them delivered. Andrew knows how to make this right and will not. Stay away . You may be the next victim of his poor business practices.

These guys have done more work and mods on my truck than I could ever hope for. Their professionalism and customer service is top notch. Andrew, Brian, and the rest of the team have so much knowledge and always answer any questions I have without missing a beat. I have never felt more comfortable at a shop in my life. These guys really set the bar high and are truly above the rest. Don t hesitate to have them assist you with all of your 4x4 needs and create the vehicle of your dreams. You will not be disappointed!

I had to have my frame swapped on my Jeep Wrangler TJ. The 4x4 Place did a fantastic job and in a very short time. The swap only took them about 2 days. Andrew was very communicative throughout the whole process, keeping me informed on what needed to be done, and the prices associated. I can't recommend them enough and I will certainly be back for future upgrades when the time comes.

I had a very positive experience at 4x4 Place. I am a Jet Aircraft Mechanic, and work with my hands on machines virtually every day. Quality of workmanship is very very important to me. I wanted to do this job on my Jeep myself but didn t have the time or the tools to complete it easily. So I chose The 4x4 Place. From the very beginning, I liked how Andrew Jr (the owner), listened to me, didn t rush me through my thoughts, and ensured me that be job would be done right. I accumulated the parts that I wanted for my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK, and asked him to install them. And he and his guys did a great job. I periodically took a peak at what they were doing, and liked what I saw. Anti-seize where there should be anti seize, torque wrenches, and people that cared about their workmanship. The price ended up being a little more than anticipated, but that really wasn t their fault because the steering knuckle broke during the install. And you know what, Andrew gave me options as to what I would want to do, and did what he could to help out on the price a bit. Quite honestly, I m confused by any negative review and I think they are not deserved! I don t see that coming from this group of guys. My only problem is that they re an hour away from me because I would prefer they be my full time mechanic for EVERYTHING! Thanks guys! I LOVE my WK now!!!!!!!

Brought my Wrangler in for a mini death wobble. They cured it by rebalancing the tires and adding a track bar brace. Price was great and had 0 issues. Just purchased another Wrangler and will use them again soon!

I had a few lights installed by these guys late last summer. When the nice weather hit this year, I pulled my jeep out and none of the lights worked. I called and they had my bring it in to take a look. It seems that one of the wires pulled lose and they were able reattach it while I waited. Great service!

Great off road shop. Very well versed and extremely knowledgeable. Good turn around time. Can not say enough good about this place. Literally drive little over an hour just because of how great they are. They do it right and reasonable price. Long story short just go here. No reason to go anywhere else

I brought my 93 XJ after having bump steer issues. They diagnosed the problem within minutes. They also found other issues with my jeep and were honest about the long term durability of each part, meaning they didn't try and sell me on parts that i didn't need, or need replacing at that very moment. They took the time in showing me what was broken and compared the broken parts to newer ones, showing me how the part should look and operate. My jeep drives like it should now, thanks to them!

4 things I look for when doing business are knowledge of craft/product, quality of work, price of goods and excellent customer service. Andrew Sr and Andrew Jr and all the crew at 4x4 Place have shown all these quality s since I ve been going there for the past 2 years. I live in NY and pass plenty of auto shops on the way to NJ. What else to say? Thanks for helping with all the fixes and upgrades with my Jeep guys!

Andrew "Mini" Jr. and the guys have been wrenching on my 05 wrangler over the past 2 years and they have been an awesome resource for diagnoses and upgrades. Andrew always takes time to explain the pros/cons of specific upgrades and as a wheeler and offroad racer, he has plenty of real world personal experience with the parts he recommends to customers. They are always willing to take on new projects and custom fabrication. They retrofitted an ax15 terminator/nsg370 swap, built up a rear 8.8 with arb lockers, installed my OME lift, spot lights, redid the entire exhaust, diagnosed a faulty pcm/tcm, and they even installed a TURBO into my TJ; the list goes on. From the get-go, I explained that I wanted to turn my jeep into an overlanding rig, and they have been a godsend with helping me realize my dream vehicle. These guys even host a monthly customer trail ride to help develop confidence and critical driver skills. I can't recommend this enough.
