My car was dropped off on a tow truck on Monday. the car was turning on and running, the only reason it was towed was to make sure it didn t get any damaged because it had lost the coolant. I call to check on the status they told me the mechanic was checking my car. I didn t get a call till the next morning and the mechanic told me my car didn t turn on that it might be something wrong with the engine. I was told to pick up my car because they couldn t service it there. The reason was that they didn t have enough people to spent that much time on it. I had to pay a town truck again to town it out. Horrible service

Made an appointment to take advantage of Pep Boys Free tire rotation service. Waited over 2 hours for the team at Pep Boys not to service my car. The rear tires were fine and still had miles left on them, the main purpose I wanted to take advantage of the Pep Boys Free tire rotation service. The manager brought me into the repair area. All four wheels were off the vehicle. The manager then states a bunch of issues this has to be changed that has to be replaced. My Brakes and rotors were fine and still had miles left on them. I declined an hour later, the manager has my car pulled up in the front lot. As I got to retrieve my keys thinking the job was done. The manager states oh, they didn t rotate the tire because the tires won t have proper rotation if it was rotated to the front . Can someone make me understand at what the manager was claiming. Cause to me it seems like the manager didn t want to Honor Pep Boys Free Tire Rotation after I declined the service I didn t need.

Totally unprofessional and discourteous business. I made an appointment for a simple oil change. I arrived on time but was at first subjected to two reps on the phone who did not even bother to look up at me. One even finished a call and still went about doing whatever he was doing without helping me. When I finally got help and dropped my key with them I was told it would take no more than an hour. After waiting an hour I suddenly see my car move from the parking lot toward the garage. Albeit annoyed that we re just starting now, I waited hoping it wouldn t be too long. After two hours the car was just sitting there with nothing being done. I asked what the hold up was and why it was an hour late. Same person wanted to know who told me it would be an hour. I reminded him that it was him. Finally after 2.5 hours the car was ready but no one was around to give me my key or take payment. It they were upfront, honest, and valued their customers time, I could have made other arrangements.

What an amazing experience I had with pep boys. I brought my car in for an oil change & to figure out why my car was shaking when I go past 60 miles. I spoke with luis who was very helpful polite and honest with me. what was so amazing is that before they took my car in for a diagnostic Luis already knew what the issue was with the vehicle and that it ll take a few hours to fix no lie an hour went by and my car was fixed and I didn t even wait that long I was pleased with the service pep boys gave me. my car feels Amazing. thank you pep boys especially Luis he s wonderful I will be recommending them to family and friends

Had my car serviced a few weeks ago. Oil tires and brakes. Very professional and done on time as promised.Just went in again today because of a broken wiper blade and without even asking, Luis went out and changed them out for me.Luis and his team do a great job and would recommend them any time.

I think the best recommendation I can give to this place is that even though I moved from the area, I still bring my Jeep here. Kenny at the front desk is super friendly. Filip the mechanic always gives it to you straight and seems to have a strong passion for auto repair. Last time my car took longer than expected but they were very apologetic, gave me all available discounts (without being asked,) and set me up with a rental car at Hertz for the trouble at no cost to me. Really went above and beyond in a way few businesses do anymore.For something like auto repair it can be hard to find someone you trust, but Filip and the gang at PepBoys Hasbrouck Heights have earned mine.

The worst experience I ever encountered for my first time Going to Pep Boys in Hasbrook Heights, New Jersey. I Called and told them that my insurance gave my battery a jump and read my battery in which they told me that I needed a new battery. You can also see the indicator light on my dashboard. Fast forward I called someone told me I can come in. It s not busy came in was able to drive there because again my battery had some juice in it to get where I needed to go as long as I didn t shut off my car. A Associate named Darren C. Was at the counter and he took the order. I waited, and I would hear them acting like they couldnt start my car so then Darren came out and Darren told me that I need a new alternator. I was very confused and I was not expecting that because my car is only 73,000 miles. And it s new car so again I m going back-and-forth with him but I don t know too much about Cars so he s trying to tell me about my car needing a new alternator I then call someone and they told me that I was supposed to have a light come on fast forward Darren The associate was trying to convince me so he can get a Commission to have me get a new alternator. The crazy part about it. The alternator is about $1000. My battery was only about 200 so Darren was really nasty about the situation. I told him that I was going to leave to cancel the order and I was not doing an alternator, he stated that my car wouldn t start up which was a lie. He did not want to take my car out of the stall so I can get someone to tow it. There was a man that helped me name Richh. He knew about my car and he was able to tell me that there was nothing wrong with it and it was able to start up. Darren and the technician Alexander are probably one of the worst workers to work there. They are trying to get commission and extra money don t believe anything they say because they just want to take your money And get their commission I would never go back again. They made my experience, so disgusting and frustrating that I will never go to that location again even if he doesn t work there anymore. Darren will say anything to make it sound good. Then what makes matter worst he will say something like oh the car won t start up so basically you need to get a new alternator so it can start up and leave this spot like wth is that. Run the cameras and see how this young boy Darren acted. He not only lied but he made matters worst by not being honest friendly and not caring about the customers AT ALL!!!

Ordered the tires with installation everything went smooth to the time I picked up my car and realized two rims are scratched. Manger was trying to show me and tell me he has scratched rims also I don t really care how you do it it s not my business but my business is got my rims after service with same condition what I left. He also told me he can t do anything about that. When I asked should I call customer service he just left maybe they will do something with that funny guy

The guys were nice, my problem was with company policies that I had to pay for battery replacement. I purchased the battery from them and they say is free, was not in my case and I had called earlier to make sure that they had a battery for my car and they also gave me a price for entire work which was not honored in person.

Darren and Evan did a wonderful job putting on new wheels for me. They even informed of of center rings needed for proper alignment of the new wheel and of a tie rod issue I had, absolutely excellent service ans they are skilled gear heads who know what they are talking about

My recent visit to Pep Boys for an oil change left me thoroughly disappointed. They made promises of a timely service, but instead, I found myself wasting precious hours on a weekend, only to discover that they hadn't even checked in my car.When I arrived after two hours, expecting my car to be in the process of being serviced, I was greeted with the shocking realization that no progress had been made. The blatant disregard for the promised timing left me frustrated and feeling like my time had been carelessly thrown away.I came early in the morning because I know it will get busier later.Their false promises and failure to honor their commitments reflect poorly on their business ethics.The only good thing about this experience is that Jonathan applied a refund.If you want to hear some lies and waste time, welcome to pep boys!

Steer clear. The manager Louise will pin you to get service done by doing half the job then telling you that the service you selected aren't right. After he will charge you either to put the original parts back on and time at the bay or charge you what he says the new price is. This happened with tires, where I would have gone somewhere else for a better price if he had told me that the size selected by the automated online system wasn't right there for the product would be different.

Now that I've had a couple of days to drive the repaired car I can unequivocally say they did a poor job. I took the car in for a radiator leak, they charged me an arm and leg to fix it and the car is still leaking. But it looks like they created not one but two NEW leaks. I was leaking anti-freeze, now I'm leaking oil. Let's see what they say when I take it back, stay tunedPoor experience part two. Took the car back, they assured me the new leak was not related to the work they had done previously (must have been a coincidence, right?) and that it would cost me another $600 to fix an oil leak that didn't exist before I took it to them for service.Stay away from this place.

I was having problems with breaks on my 2011 Honda Accord and brought it in to Pep Boys to check out the problem. The associate called me with information as to what needed to be done and the cost. I have approved the repair and was provided the time the car will be ready. The car was ready on time. The repair was done a couple of weeks ago and the breaks are working fine.

Took about 4 1/2 hours for my tires to be installed / balanced. Got the car back and the balance seems wrong since the wheel shakes now and the tire feels like it's going over a small bump every turn. I bring it back and get it rechecked, After 4 hours waiting again for them to rebalance it. The guy just brings it out and says "It's good". I ask what they did to the car and he just says "Dunno they just told me to bring it out" I ask around and nobody knows what they actually did to the car and it doesn't even look they did a rebalance since all the weights are still dirty and don't look fresh. Also apparently I paid for someone elses service they mentioned to me when I went back which I didn't notice, I just checked and I have someone elses receipt with all their personal info on it, kind of scary.

Had an appointment one day, with traffic took me an hour to get here. When I arrived they said they can't do my oil change cause they don't have the filter. So the rescheduled me for 9am Saturday, and order the filter so is there when i come. I arrive in Saturday and once again they don't have the oil filter. I have no other option but wait for them to get it and get my oil changed. They throw In a tire rotation but don't recalibrate the sensors so if you have a TPMS don't let them do your tire rotation cause you will than have to pay someone else to get those sensors working properly. Even if you have an appointment you have to wait in line behind people who don't have appointments. Had to wait over 2 and half hours to get my car back.

I brought the car in for service The fan was continuously running. The supposedly fix $2,700 worth of issues but did not fix the original problem. When I complained they took another look at the car. Told me it was the computer and that they could not fix the original issue. Unacceptable

I had an emergency situation in which I needed a tire. I look up this Pepboys and see that it closes at 8pm so I had more than enough time to make it there before their scheduled closing time. I drive 15 minutes to this Pepboys and arrive at 7:40pm and guess what? The doors were locked and there were no associates in sight. Thanks a lot.

These guys are rip off.I had an issue with my car, getting an engine light on my dash. In diagnostic it was clearly showing an error code and the whole world knows the fix for that. But Pepboy's certified technicians would fix something else, which would be totally unnecessary.The issue was never fixed, and they charged me a hefty amount for parts and labor. I can bet, they would not justify the charges for parts. It was 3 times the original price and those were not OEM as well.I would never go to Pep Boys again, it's better to fix it at a local mechanic.

I rate this a 5 star because when my car had gotten into a bad accident this person named Luis blanco was able to help he was with me on the whole process great customer service and in no time my car was up and running again and I would always go back there in a heart beat if I was in any trouble

Please read all reviews for this store before going the mechanic phill will charge you an arm and a leg TO NOT FIX YOUR CAR and the manager lous walks around lost with no control of his store and you'll wait forever think I'm lieng read other reviews best of luck if you choose this place be aware !!!

Polite and courteous customer service. However...I had my car towed there by AAA because I was 50 miles from home and they were the only place that answered their phone after 5pm that was close to home. False claims for unnecessary expenses. I had a ruptured fuel line on a Chevy Cobalt. They gave me an estimate for $1,900 to repair. I towed car to another mechanic. My vehicle was repaired elsewhere for less than half the price they quoted. They lied about needing rewiring and spark plugs. Charged me $117 for diagnostics. I was able to get new shocks and struts with the money I saved! I absolutely do not recommend Pep Boys unless you are wealthy and cost doesn't matter.

See below full details of my experience. To summarize the closing of this case was supposed to result in at least a call to explain the matter. Almost a month later I called to get an update on the case and corporate told me the case was already closed almost a week ago. My recommendation is to seek out a more reputable care service center even if it's for a simple battery change as I thought."Hello PepBoys,I would like to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I recieved twice from PepBoys HASBROUCK HEIGHTS #1057.To start in March 2023 I replaced my stock batter for a PepBoys branded battery. Within 3 months of having the newly replaced battery the car stalled on me and there was evidence of acid leak from the battery and a crack in the positive terminal, terminals were not originally changed in March not by my request.I once again brought my car to PepBoys HASBROUCK HEIGHTS #1057. A detailed diagnostics was performed and I was told with changing of the positive terminal the error message was resolved. To be safe since I was told the battery was "leaking acid" I requested to have a new battery placed. I also requested to have the negative terminal change but I was informed it was not done, as requested, and was not necessary.Within 30 minutes of leaving the store on 06/09/2023 the car again stalled on my way to work and I was very close to getting into a serious accident when merging onto a highway.Service manager FREIQUI ESPINAL tells me today 06/10/2023 that nothing can be done to compensate me for money I spent on my car. I entrusted my car and almost my life with this store. FREIQUI ESPINAL was not understanding. He wanted me to bring the car back for a 3rd time.How can I trust the work being done at this store? If this is the representation of PepBoys I will be sure to never recommend or visit another PepBoys again.
