I brought my car in today to get my brakes fixed. We dropped the car off and the work was finished quickly. Ed the manager was fantastic. I generally do not enjoy going to a mechanic without my dad because I feel like all mechanics try to screw me over. Ed really seemed like an honest guy- I would be comfortable going back to him without my dad in the future!

I went in for a tire repair and had an 8 am appointment. I was in and out by 9 am, which was great. Domick and the staff were very nice and provided excellent service. Overall, it was a positive experience.

I had an excellent experience here today (5/21/23). I brought my car in for a last minute appointment to try and fix the work that another shop cannot seem to fix. I was greeted quickly and when I explained the nature of my concern I was told up front what it likely is, and that if it s a certain setup they would not be able to fix it but I would need to return to the previous shop. It ended up being that scenario so I need to go back to the first shop, but Pep Boys was kind enough to set me up with a temporary fix to ensure that I am able to drive without worrying about my tire. They were kind and professional from start to finish and I fully intend to bring my vehicle back for future service work.

Had 2 appointments for an oil change first day went in and they told me it was going to be 2+ hours even though I had an appointment so I rescheduled for first thing the next morning they promised me I would be in and out, after waiting 75 minutes car wasn't even in the garage yet I just asked for the keys back because I had other obligations and I couldn't wait any longer.Please at least be honest with customers and don't overbook appointments. I won't be back unfortunately.

DONT DO IT, go to the honest people across the street. Set an appointment for two new rear tires. Get to the shop 15 minutes prior to my appointment. They got my vehicle in 15 minutes after my appointment, and sat on the lift for 30 minutes before the manager came out to inform me they didn't even had have the tires they sold me. Now in the middle of the day and needing tires the same day, demanded they put the tires back on, drop my van, and give me the keys. Took them over 20 minutes to put 16 lug nuts on and drop my van. When they returned the keys I asked if my spare was back in the back of the van where it was to begin with. They said yes, good thing I double checked these liars and theives, because it wasn't in the van. They attempted to steal my spare rim and tire. Horrible horrible shop, will go to the private shop across the street from now on.

I've never had a bad experience at this location. They do a great job and don't overcharge. I prefer this place over my dealer which is farther.

All employees at Pep Boys are ALWAYS awesome EVERY TIME I bring my car! They are professional, knowledgeable and honest. Today, JC was especially helpful! He was thorough, courteous and detailed in finding my oil leak issue. His team is promptly fixing the leak to get my car back on the road! I highly recommend Pep Boys!

Usually use the service center across the street but they were booked up so I tried to get an appointment here. Made it online for a free diagnostic test to check why my engine light was on. WELL turns out it s not free, it s 99$ and that s just to see what s wrong with it. Then they charge you labor and service to fix it. Avoid !!

THIS SHOP IS THE WORSE! First and foremost, ED and DOM are awful managers. DOM cursed at me over the phone and did not even attempt to help and attend to my needs. I took my vehicle here to get tires on the rear. Ed informed me that my vehicle would be done that same day within a couple hours! A day goes by and I am forced to drive to pepboys to see my car sitting with the flat it originally had in the parking lot. Pepboys tells me that they cannot get my rim off because the lug nuts that THEY put on in the past are too tight. Waste of time and money and the shop is useless. I went inside the shop and nothing but young high schoolers. Don t make the mistake I did and do not go here! What a joke DOM and ED are. I would do zero stars if allowed.

Worst location for service. They don t know what they are doing. I had service for the TPMS replacement one day and after changing sign came back again. So due to that reason I went back next day and they said they were confused last time that which sensor was dead. Technician could not figure it out last time and told me that may be more sensors are dead now. Guys don t waste your time to go to pep boys as they are not honest. At last there online scheduling system is not harmonized with the actual appointment.

Both Dominic and Ed are very helpful and knowledgeable. They got my car serviced quickly and were a pleasure to work wirh. Would recommend them to anyone.

From start to finish, this Pep Boys team was awesome. Domenick and Joe are real pros and coordinated the work seamlessly. I had 4 tires installed and a free inspection of the vehicle. The work was excellent and the price fair. Highly recommend!

Always Super Helpful, Fun, Knowledgeable. I ve stopped in three times for different reasons, they ve always taken exceptional care of me and my car. They ve always worked hard to get my car back to me same day also. I recommend these guys to anyone.

Honest and knowledgeable mechanics are hard to find. At this Pepboys location in Hackettstown, I ve noticed Joe treats all of his customers right and is pleasant to deal with. I have had several pleasant experiences with Joe at Pepboys and he deserves to be commended. Even on a football Sunday, Joe and his team work hard to make sure your vehicle is back on the road for Monday morning. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Extremely Unprofessional and not competent whatsoever. I have quite a bit of cars so I like to try new places out and this is my worst experience ever, if you are looking for a place with polite and great service go to mavis across the street it's night and day. (I never leave reviews but I felt like this will help other people not go through what I did)

If I could leave 0 stars I would. After waiting over an hour to get my car serviced, I was told oops! We took the wrong ticket. I then needed to wait another 10 minutes to get the keys.

Went there in a hurry needing new tires. Best help I'd ever gotten regarding pricing and tire selection. Very kind and fair people. 100% would recommend.

Ive never had a car that told me when it needed scheduled maintenance, or what that entailed, but the light on the dash came on for that and tire rotation so I headed on over to pep boys. Not only were they able to quickly take care of my car, they also looked over the rest of it and informed me it was in fantastic condition. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, Ill be taking my car there from this point forwards.

Went to get my tire patched today and the manager, John, was very helpful. He gave me options of different types of repairs and was very courteous. He totally earned my respect, thanks to John I will be returning to that store for my automotive needs. Thanks John your a real gentleman and a honest businessman!

I make appointment for Friday morning and I go for my appointment and 30 minutes later the worker come and said they don t have the filter for the truck so I make other appointment for today 8 am and the worker said I have to wait because someone was first but what is the point to offer appointmentsAnd he said they still don t have the oil filter and he told me I can go to Chevy they have the oil filter so I said forget about and left bad service I never go back

I normally don't write reviews but this got me so mad that I had to share. My car's A/C recently stopped working. Every time I turn it on, I would only get hot air. I made an appointment and knowing this was specialized work I even called the store to confirm that a tech would be there to perform the work at that time. Everything was confirmed. When I arrived I was told that the work could not be performed because there's only one tech and there are a bunch of cars waiting.Isn't that why you make an appointment?I just don't understand... Don't bother making an appointment if they don't honor it. I'm never coming back again. Total waste of time coming here.

I use PepBoys for my work fleet and personal car. I completely trust them with everything I bring them. They never recommend anything that doesn't need to get done. All the guys working make me feel welcome no matter the time of day. Definitely recommend

I make an appt on a Monday for a Friday. I get here 8am Friday, a Friday. I get here there s a guy waiting as well. Whoever opens the store is late. It s not Sunday, it s Friday, a work day. One guy ringing up 3 ppl and 30 min later I find out he s the tech we well. I used to be in this industry. I used to be in this industry. I ve NEVER seen an EMPTY shop pulling in at 8am on a weekday.The manager joe is amazing. Very nice. So it s hard to leave a bad review but very little staff. WTH.

I went to PEP BOYS in Hackettstown for the first time today for an oil change. I was greeted by John, who was kind enough to open the door for me. I had an excellent and courteous service and would highly recommend them. It s great having a reliable place to bring my car to that is close to home. Thank you!

Joe from Pep Boys was amazing! After an accident, an auto body shop returned my car with a dead battery. Joe was so accommodating and helpful as this was right before the holiday. I plan to use Pep Boys for any future car issues!

Had a valve cover gasket, ball joint, oil pan seale, and new battery installed. I was driving to work when my car started smoking. They brought me in and showed me everything wrong. Not only did they show me but they explained everything to me to make me understand. They keep you updated with the progress and provide you with photos of everything from showing you what's broken. I highly reccomend this place! Staff was beyond friendly!

Went in for an alignment. Found Joe at the counter to be pleasant, informative and knowledgeable. The entire staff is friendly and professional. All in all, an excellent experience, and I will be back.
