We were pleased with our experience at John Johnson Select Used Cars, and would particularly commend Matt Z. for his professionalism and patience.We were replacing our beloved beach Jeep, getting a replacement had become an arduous and frequently frustrating experience. My wife learned the Costco had recently begun a used car buying service in New Jersey. Costco recommended John Johnson to us. We made an appointment with Matt, and he showed us several Jeeps. His product knowledge was very good, as he showed us several candidates. Most importantly, Matt listened to our concerns. We were purchasing this Jeep specifically to go on the beach: when the tide is rising you must have a reliable vehicle, no questions asked. Matt was patient and did not pressure us. That said, we agreed with his first assessment, which speaks volumes of what he heard us say, and the Jeep he matched us with. He had us drive several vehicles, he was thorough in getting us through the maze off paperwork, in a friendly and competent manner.Altogether, a great buying experience.

Actually Matt Z was a pretty good guy. No heavy pressure sales. Did his job and was friendly and accommodating. He's been around the business for many years.

I spoke to Matt Z on the phone and told him I lived an hour away and didn t want to waste time negotiating back and forth. He gave me a straight price on the new car and said this is how much on the trade assuming that it was as described by me. I came in test drive the new car and we signed papers. Overall such an honest salesman and great dealership to work with. Also I met Alan which is the manager. Also very honest and straightforward.

I personally dread the thought of having to buy a new vehicle. It always feels like a drawn out process and like someone's trying to pull a fast one on you. My experience with Matt at the used car center has given me hope and proven my instincts wrong. He was so friendly and so helpful the entire time. He was honest and upfront about everything and patient with us as we asked questions and inspected the vehicle. I personally think he should be the Used Sales Manager as the current one was a bit rude. We overheard him say there's no way that we'd get approved for financing due to the age of the vehicle and sure enough, he was wrong. The finance process is also one worth dreading but Robert got us the best deal ever and somehow got us a 24 month warranty AND dropped the price by $300. What more could I even ask for??? Then Anthony in the insurance department made it so easy as he added the vehicle to our policy for us so we literally didn't have to do a thing. We drove an hour and a half to buy this van and I will gladly do it again next time we need a vehicle.

By far the BEST and stress free car buying experience my husband and I have ever had! From my initial contact with Tony to the purchase of our Jeep, he was always friendly, never pushy. and was with us every step of the way. It was a pleasure dealing with Tony along with his colleagues John and Robert throughout our purchase. They are truly are one of the most utmost professional group of people I've ever dealt with. I would highly recommend using them to purchase your next vehicle. I know my family definitely will!

We truly had such a nice experience buying the car here Matt helped us a lot, always being transparent we never felt pushed although had bad experiences with dealerships in the past I can say that 1 hour travel to this place was worth it.Car showed a little mechanic issue within the 3000 miles guaranteed they fixed it as mentioned when we purchased the car .I m quite sure will continue buying cars from this dealership for personal and business use.Thank you Matt and Goldy.

Great personnel, friendly staff, even with folks we had no dealings with!! Jeff Bash the finance manager is the BEST, he did all he could to make sure we walked away as satisfied customers! Zach was our Salesman and he was cool and super patient with all my questions and concerns. He just wasn't able to help us much on our deal as far as negotiating was concerned because according to him the Sales Manager tied his hands since all discounts had alread been applied to car prior to our sale. We would definitely buy from Bob Johnson Auto again due to the other positive reviews, our experience and our wonderful Cadillac XT6 Sport!! Happy Customer so far so good!

The BEST car purchasing experience my wife and I have had. Tony and John were excellent!! Professional, personable, and we never felt pressured. They are definitely master's of their craft!! I've worked in the automotive industry 30 years and these guys are the REAL DEAL!!!! We came into the dealership pre-approved but left with a better interest rate, a warranty, and a smaller payment!! It gets no better!!! Many thanks to Tony and John!! We will be back!!

John and the team at Johnson Automotive make you feel like family. They are honest, caring, and professional. I bought my 17 year old his first car here. John spent so much time explaining the process of purchasing a used car and what he looks for when he buys cars for his dealership. After the purchase, my son had several questions, and they were always happy to speak with him. He loves his car!

If I could give 6 stars I would. This is the first review that I have ever typed up and only because it is worth my time. First, I bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee form Matt & Al. It was a laid back, no stress setting and transaction. I live in PA and bought my vehicle there in NJ. My left turn signal light was malfunctioning a day after the sale. It was intermittent. My husband tried to change the bulb but that wasn't the problem. I had purchased an extended warranty, so I took it to a Jeep dealer near me and found that the warranty would not cover the headlamp assembly that needed to be replaced. This would cost me $1,000. out of pocket. I called Matt & Al and they did not hesitate to help me and said to bring it back. They set up an appointment for me with a loaner to get back to PA. I made a mistake and came a day early thinking it was the right day. Service let me know they did not have a loaner available (not their fault). Al swooped in and set me up with a vehicle so I wouldn't have to come back the next day, as I live 1 hr. and 15 minutes away. Al's exact words, "I'm not leaving one of our customers stranded". Today is a day after the fix and I have my baby back. I have NEVER seen customer service like this. I could not give enough thanks to these gentleman. I would recommend this place to all my friends & family. My sister works at a nearby dealer (competitor) and even said, "they are good guys". I found that out for myself.

This is hands down the best dealership I have ever encountered. I was in and out in 2 hrs, car detAiled, best rate I could ever imagine, and can t even compete with the hospitality. My man Jon Louie s communication was on point ok, new his stuff and made sure I left happy! Shout out to Jeff the finance man with the plan. His calculator does wonder numbers. I drove 2hrs for a perfect experience!!!

We purchased a used Honda Civic from Tony Moretti January, 2018. Tony provided outstanding customer support and an overall incredible car buying experience. Tony was attentive to our used-car needs and provided a wealth of information about the cars that were appropriate/available for our needs. Tony returned calls efficiently and provided an honest, sincere experience and outstanding pricing!Buying a used car can be draining, worrisome etc. Tony removed all of the negativity associated with the used car sales experience. I have bought many cars in my life (and never enjoyed the process) and I have to say this was by far the easiest transaction ever!! I saw a used Durango on a Saturday afternoon that I just had to test drive. We were fortunate enough to have Tony Moretti as our salesman...an absolute pleasure! NEVER have I bought a car where there was NO PRESSURE..THIS was the time! Tony is very easy going and customer satisfaction is his #1! We test drove another truck but settled on the Durango which we picked up on Monday afternoon...not only the smoothest, but the quickest transaction. Also happy to say that when we went to sign the papers they were also able to shave another $30 off our payment!!! Now that is Customer Service!! I would highly recommend buying your next car here!!

WOW! My experience with Johnson Dodge was exceptional! Being that I am a recent graduate and just landed my first full time job I needed a reliable vehicle. Tony Moretti helped me find the perfect vehicle that best suited my needs. I test drove it and instantly fell in love with a Nissan Juke. I was looking for a very specific car with very specific features and this led me out of my home state of CT to New Jersey.Let me be clear that if I was just rating on the purchasing process, I would have given 5 stars. We worked with Matt Zeigler and from our very first communication, I was impressed. He is the antithesis of every car salesman I'd ever dealt with. He is very nice, patient and not pushy at all. Leading up to the purchase, he was quick at answering emails and a pleasure to work with, so if you're thinking about buying a car from this dealership, ask for Matt.My 3 star rating applies to the registration process and all involved.We left the dealership with a 30 day temporary plate as is the custom. We were assured before we completed the purchase that the whole registration process would be handled and our permanent plate would be mailed to us. This was exactly what I was looking for because in CT, it had become very difficult to get an appointment at the DMV. I intentionally purchased from a dealer so they could handle that whole registration process.4 weeks later, we still had no plate and my sons plate had expired. I called Matt and he said he'd get a new temp plate out to us. I wasn't too surprised at that point because I knew due to COVID the DMV was running slower. However, I then got an email from Matt that we needed to have the emissions tested before they could register the car. Already, 4 weeks have passed and NOW they're telling us to go get the emissions done. That means they hadn't even started to process the registration and unless I called them to let them know our plate expired, would anyone have called us to let us know about emissions?We took the car and immediately got the emissions done and sent the results to Matt. ANOTHER 4 weeks pass and the temp plate expires. It's now been over 8 weeks since we purchased the car. I email Matt and he gets right back to me. He apologizes and tells me don't worry, if my son gets stopped the police won't give him a ticket. They're making allowances for this sort of thing. I talked to my local police department, they were not making allowances. Matt did get another temp plate to me however.Another 3 weeks pass....I'm not even making this up , and the temp plate is about to expire again. I get in touch with Matt and realize that there's probably only so much that he can do. I ask him to put me through to the general manager and he tells me he can't but he can put me through to his manager. I knew right away that his manager wasn't going to pick up the phone. I left a message and he never bothered calling back. I try calling the dealership 6 other times that day to get someone different on the phone that might be able to help me. My son is only 19 and I really didn't want him to deal with getting pulled over because of an expired plate.I finally called my husband and asked him to call. I normally make all of the calls because as a FEDEX courier, he doesn't have time to deal with making phone calls. My husband calls and IMMEDIATELY gets put through to the department that deals with the registration. He tells them our plate is about to expire for the 3rd time and they promise to overnight another temp plate. My question is, why didn't I get put through to the correct department and why did they not respond to me, a woman, with such urgency?Needless to say I was fuming.I emailed Matt and voiced my frustration and let him know that although I was satisfied with the job he had done, I was very frustrated with the registration process and would be including that in my review.If you are purchasing from out of state, just know you'll have to be the one to stay on top of the registration because the dealership just doesn't. Each and every time the temp plate expired, I had to contact them. They should have stayed on top of that and been contacting me. I estimate I had to make between 15-20 calls and emails in the 3 month period to keep things moving forward. Not...very...professional.

My husband and I popped in on a whim to find a good first car for our almost 16 yr old son. We were just looking and are certainly not a novice when it comes to car purchasing, but we usually only lease new. Tony was so awesome to work with we walked out within the hour with a better car & deal than we were looking for! Buy your car with Matt at Johnson Select. He is not a pushy salesman at all. They should let him sell on the main lot. He was always honest and kind. He worked with us to get all our questions answered and was patient with us. Don't change Matt!

Spent a week going to dealerships trying to find a car. What a horrible experience. Then I met Tony Moretti and was pleasantly surprised to meet an honest, up-front person willing to go out of his way to make the purchase of a vehicle a reality for me. I love my new car and the the way the entire transaction was handled. A very heartfelt Thank You! I would definitely recommend Mr. Moretti and the J. Johnson Auto Group to anyone .

Buyer Beware!John Johnson Select s service department supposedly takes every used vehicle they sell and does a multi-point inspection. Beware that inspection is not as thorough as you d hope.Our family found a 2015 Honda CR-V, through CarGuru s, there. We flew into NJ to take delivery of the car, and the car wouldn t start. After working with it, they assured us it was the battery and an aftermarket alarm that was removed. 48 hours later, the car s starter was dead.Even though the problem happened at the dealership, they assured us it was fixed and in roadworthy condition. It obviously was not.When I sent them the repair bill, they basically told me anything that happens when you drive the car off the lot is not their problem. We are now out hundreds of additional dollars.I highly recommend you find another dealership as John Johnson Select is not ethically sound.

Great salesman Tony treated me how I wanted to be treated. "NO" pressure! I'm buying a car from here and they worked with me with pick up date. Great selection for the price you would be crazy if you don't at least look at there inventory. Thanks guys for all you do for your customers..

Where do I begin? My husband and I were in need of a vehicle. We were on our way to the Honda dealership but we stopped by John Johnson Select Used Cars. Tony Moretti greeted us in the parking lot as we were looking at a Jeep Cherokee.We decided to buy it and were informed the vehicle had an oil change and was maintenanced. When we test drove the car, I noticed only one key. I inquired about the second and Tony said that it was probably available but they wouldn't have it until the plates came in. He told us if they didn't, they would cut us a new one. Ok, no problem!Tony completed the lease agreement at their used lot and fortunately gave me a signed copy. He informed us of the Powertrain Warranty which was to be included. I'm glad he wrote it down on the lease! They did not have the ability to process the paperwork at their location so he drove us up to Johnson Dodge.At JD, they told us they couldn't get us in our price range so we increased our down payment as much as we could but it still wasn't enough to get us within budget. Strange, but it wasn't too bad, so be it. They had us sign off on the lease through a digital pad so the numbers weren't visible for us to see but the only change made from point A to point B was the increase in the down payment.When we left the lot, I noticed the maintenance message said the car needed an oil change. Maybe they forgot to reset the message?Fast forward two weeks. We received our first statement. I noticed the principal balance seemed rather high considering our down payment was a third of the cost. This prompted me to pull the paperwork from the dealership. To our surprise, they tacked on $3000 for the Powertrain Warranty!! What the...?! I immediately call them to find out the story. I spoke to Tom, who told me that the lender required us to purchase the warranty in order to approve us for the loan. He also claimed they wanted to charge an 8% interest rate, and in order to get a better rate, we had to purchase the warranty. That didn't make any sense so of course I confirm that information with the lender, which to no surprise, ended up being a total lie. If it was valid, why would they not have said something sooner?We called them out on it and faught tooth and nail to get them to fix the issue. They finally agreed to cut a check and pay down the balance but it would take a few weeks. Now I'm paying interest on the $3000!Finally, when the plates came in, we inquired about the key again. They told us there wasn't a second key and that we would have to pay $300 for it! Seriously??!! Not to mention, during the battle we kept addressing the oil change situation and they wouldn't even acknowledge it. Of course this was the least of my concerns.Since they were unwilling to help, I made a call to John Johnson himself to fill him in on our experience. Fortunately, he made it right. I went back in and they drew up a new loan, putting us back into our initial price range, and cut me the second key I was promised. At this point, I asked the girl in the service department if an oil change had ever been done to the car. She looked it up in the system and confirmed it did NOT. So I asked her if they did oil changes to the used cars. Her response was yes. So I asked if mine would be done too. She told me they have a coupon for a $20 oil change!! Seriously?!?! I'll go down the road and spend $40 for an oil change out of principle.So my advice to anyone reading this, go to the Honda dealership.PS I should mention they bribe people for reviews... hence all the "good" ratings. Don't be fooled. I was offered $50 to write a favorable review. Glad I waited.

Keith was a really BIG help..i went there with intensions to look and ended up leaving with the Cadillac I ve always wanted..the process was quick only took a few hours..Keith was very knowledgeable about every question i had about my new car..i told him what i wanted and he delivered I definitely recommend this dealership and Keith is definitely your guy to see!! I recived the sad news today that my friend Tony passed away. Tony was a outstanding man. I would vist the guys and drop off donuts and we would always chat. Like I always said to them they are like family. When covid hit, I was moving and tony wasn't there when I went to say goodbye. I know he is in a good place. You will always be in my heart.
