HMI took care of my car and helped me diagnose the engine code I was getting. Only comment I have is it would be nice to receive a discount on the diagnostic fee since I got the work done there. Other than that they are going to take care of you and your car.

There's a reason HMI has good reviews.. they earn them! Amazing customer service and communication. I had my truck in for brakes and a Trans service. They called not once but twice to discuss the transmisson service and then the status of my brakes. Super honest and quality workmanship. Very fair pricing. In 2010 I was a broke 18 year old freshman at Centenary and working full time at Sears in Rockaway Mall in the evenings (making $7 an hour). My first car was a lemon and I remember taking it to this repair shop at least one or twice a month before it finally died. I would ask them to just diagnose the issue but not repair it because I didn t have the money to have it fixed. Just about every time they would repair my car for me free of charge. One time it needed serious work and they only charged me $100 (I m sure the labor was worth much more than that). 13 years later and I still remember your kindness and generosity. These were the most caring and HONEST mechanics I ve ever come across in my life! I ve since moved to Europe but I m glad to see you re still in business and doing well. May God continue to bless you!

Always do a great job no matter what the issue is, honest, fair and kind service from everyone I've dealt with. The receptionist is awesome, she is well spoken, great personality and always gets me in quickly! I'd recommend this place for any car needs u may have.

I brought an exhaust pipe to get a new flange welded in place. I showed up on a Friday morning and even though they were busy, they made sure to help me out and got the work done in record time and at a great price. This is the only shop around that will do exhaust repair work the proper way. Most shops would just have me pay a lot more money and replace the whole part when just the flange is bad. So very pleased with this experience and I will very much use them again!Service: Exhaust

Ray and team Ray has assembled over the years do reliable work, having your vehicle serviced can be a very stressful experience however I've found HMI to be a credible automotive repair business. I'd would never take a exhaust related issue anywhere else, his exhaust specialist is second to non be it a classic car or late mode.

I took a BMW X5 to Hmi and they totally took advantage of me.When the battery goes low on a BMW the 4 x 4 light comes on. All you have to do is turn the wheel to the left enter the right and it will go off. Hmi told me that they replace the 4 x 4 and 1 million other things on the car when they only repaired a few things.I only took the car there for them to look it over and I left there with a $5000 bill over $5000. Don t trust the baron or their shop.I really hope that they do not do this to all of their customers. Find a different mechanicService: General repairs & maintenance

We recently moved to this area. I've used the same mechanic to repair my cars for the past 25+ years. I was happy to find this shop with a good rating. Thanks to the folks for posting reviews. Here's my two cents......This was a specialized repair for an oil leak and Ray immediately diagnosed the problem and called me later with a repair estimate. He also said he had the parts available - not my usual experience. We scheduled the repair and it was done the the same day as he said. The final repair cost was significantly LESS than the estimate! I can't recall ever having that experience. Not only honest but a testament to the mechanics abilities to make the repair in short time.There is a rental car business in the same building and the daily rental fee is very reasonable. Very convenient.I can't say I like spending money on car repairs but dealing with nice, capable and honest people makes it far less painful.

Great experience! I went in this week to get an estimate on a repair. The price they gave was very fair and they were able to fix it on the spot. I was driving my repaired car within the hour! I will definitely be returning for any repairs I need as well as recommending this place to friends!

Very friendly! Very nice people and very honest. I lifted the car up when I got home to check out the work and they did a fantastic job! Much cheaper than what other places quoted me too. Great to finally find a shop that is honest and does great work!

The owners of this shop are the kindest, most hospitable and trusting I have met. My car broke down in front of their lot after hours and I was lucky enough that they were still there. The owner helped me diagnose the vehicle, tried charging the battery repeatedly and came to the realization that it was an alternator that needed replacement. They ordered the parts after hours, fixed the vehicle by the next morning (on a day the shop was closed) and charged me less than I would have anywhere else. Where most businesses today would charge more for that type of service because the consumer has no choice or simply refuse it - they did the opposite. They also completed a full inspection on the vehicle and pointed out things that were not up to par. These were things that my local shop overlooks (or simply ignores) to get me in and out. If you are looking for a true mechanic that will keep your car running and safe, while still charging less than alternative big name brand shops - this is your new shop!PS- When you know that they do it because they love it, that s who I want to go to for service. I like to stay away from the guys just punching in and out.

Had glasspacks installed on my Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Staff was friendly, provided the exact information on how the install would go, and at a great price. Highly recommend!

Have been going to HMI for many years (10 plus). Today I'm getting an oil change, a wheel stud repaired and a downpipe installed on my truck...Yes, today, and I'm so confident that they will once again do their extraordinary work at a fair price that I'm rating them 5 Stars before the work even begins...it's that kind of place that instills that kind of confidence. People you can trust!

I have been an HMI customer for more than 20 years. During that time I have always been confident that the repairs and maintenance done to my cars were done efficiently, with expert mechanics using the best parts. My wife and I put on a lot of miles and when we are making a trip I am sure that my vehicle has been given the very best treatment and that it would get us there and back safely. A few years ago I swapped my car with my son. He drove it for two years and then sold it. The buyer called me to say that he had never seen such a comprehensive record of a vehicles maintenance. That is a very strong point at HMI.

I had a custom catback exhaust installed a while back, and they did a great job! The staff was polite and professional and they are very organized. A great place if you need your car serviced or fixed.

We take all of our vehicles here for service and repairs and have been very satisfied with their services. They do NOT try to push other unnecessary maintenance on you like a lot of other places do. Very courteous, clean and their pricing is excellent. Would highly recommend.Sue Lane

This is the second time that HMI put an exhaust on my '95 Grand Cherokee that runs like a champ. I'm just as happy with their work as the first time!!! They do great work and I drove the whole way home with the window open and a smile on my face listening to the lovely rumble of my new exhaust.Thanks HMI for doing another great job!!!!

A Reputable Honest Shop which is an Oasis in the questionable practices a lot of the quick shops use to RIP off unsuspecting customers...This is quite refreshing as after 35 years that I spent in the Automotive Industry exceeds all expectations. You have my permission to use my survey as I am only suggesting your shop to anyone that asks me about great auto repairs.

Went to HMI for a 2nd damage estimate as required before settlement, however they decided to clean my sunroof drains without my authorization and charged me $110. They asked me to provide them with the first estimate , and then proceeded to fully contradict it. I went to Steckles in Belvidere same day, they said they didn t need to see any estimates, listened to my concerns, fully looked over my car, and provided me with a fair estimate. Don t give your business to garages that take advantage of women.

Very pleased with the service. Had the timing belt and the external belts replaced.Also water pump and tensioner replaced.

Great people! Kind, friendly, & courteous! Mechanic (Baron) took the time to explain (in layman's terms, to a woman) what was to be done & didn't seem exasperated or perturbed having to do it. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work.1 minor detail...I usually ask beforehand (to see the parts that come off my car) & forgot to this time. Would be nice if the mechanics offered or asked their customers if they'd like to see the old parts (at least on major repairs) before they're tossed. Just a suggestion.All-in-all, still a great job!

I have been using Hackettstown Motor Imports since early 2000. They have installed custom exhaust systems on my: 2001 Mustang, 2007 Silverado, 2013 Camaro, and 2018 Camaro. Anytime I have a question, they are always there via email, call, and/or in person to answer. I highly recommend!

I feel as though the work on my 1964 Ford pick up was well done. The owner and his staff were knowledgeable, polite, and honest.
