We had a great experience here. We brought my VW in fully expecting to replace the transmission. They found the problem, which was an easier and much cheaper fix, and the car runs great! The shop kept us informed and got permission before any work was done. The staff was friendly and professional. We will be back with any issues in the future with our vehicles.

I definitely give this wonderful shop a five star rating 10 if I could. The kindness and compassion that I received was amazing. My car was ready three days early and is running like it is brand new. The kindness went above and beyond what they had to do and I am forever grateful. I will definitely make them my new mechanic. I was helping my brother out, he had an unexpected issue with oil leaking and had gone to a different company and had a diagnostic performed for 150 bucks and was quoted a price. Because he was borrowing my daughter s car, we wound up taking his car locally by me at Aamco in Hackettstown. They ran diagnostic and turns out it was not what we were told initially, it was cheaper issue than what was quoted by the auto repair chain that my brother initially went to. The work was finished in a timely manner as quoted. Because it is right after the holidays, and my brother is rebuilding his credit, we were going to go with the financing options offered. Unfortunately for us, we both already had accounts with synchrony bank and that was not an option. So we applied for American first financing, and Marc and Aaron were completely honest and said that the financing option works, but you need to pay the loan back within 90 days or they will gouge you. They were honest and clear about the food, the bad and the ugly. Long and short, we wound up not financing because American first uses PLAID, which is an account authenticate which requires your bank username and password, as you would use to log into your own account online. My family was not comfortable with this, for valid reasons. So we chose to not use them and paid with a credit card. Upon getting home, I called the bank and explained that we were not comfortable with the divulging of personal info, and they informed me that while they do not advertise such, you can bypass the PLAID process by sending a copy of your bank statement via email to them. It holds up the process a few hours or a day, but it s an alternative to giving out your personal bank info. So should you choose to go the first American financing sub-prime route, make it known to Mark and Aaron when you drop off your vehicle and speak to them about starting the process immediately so that you have time to send your bank account info via email. This saves you from having to go the route of revealing personal info. But it will take time. The synchrony bank deal is pretty decent from what I can tell, they offer reasonable terms, but you can t have any more than two accounts with them currently. I will absolutely be bringing my family vehicles back, even just for basic maintenance. I listened to their conversations amongst themselves and with customers, they are good people, family people. At no point did I feel like I was being taken advantage of, and at no point in time were they less than honest regarding financing options. They pointed out the importance of paying the sub-prime option off asap. Obviously, having the funds in your bank account or paying with cash is optimal, but if you need to finance, these are my opinions on the options offered. Synchrony first unless you already have cards with them (they underwrite lowes, kohls and many merchants, you may not even be aware you have accounts with synchrony if you have paperless billing) but if you go with American First Financing, start the process as soon as possible while your car is being worked on and have your paperwork ready to email in lieu of the PLAID authentication method. Keep in mind that Aamco of hackettstown is neither promoting nor are they the actual lender of the two financing options, they are simply letting you as the customer know that they are available should you be in a bind. I have nothing but praise for the guys at the garage, I would and will highly recommend them.

Every Issue I had with my Jeep JK 2007 X Unlimited they have Permanently Fixed. The dealers couldn't in 2 years. I found me a home for my Vehicles for Maintenance. Please talk to Aron and Mark, please.

Mark and his team are the best! I've used them for years. They listen to what you are saying, then go the extra mile to diagnose and fix the issue the first time. Aaron is excellent! He is very knowledgeable when asked a question and very helpful The mechanics do a great job always this has been my second time taking my car first time was my transmission and now it was the steering wheel issue and both time they did a great job. Love this place ..what s the first thing you think about when you re looking for someone to service your car. .. Can I trust them?? Well this place can be trusted ..and the service is like none other ..welcoming, fast, and professional and the prices are very reasonable. If I need emergency work Marc is always fits me in! He will even take you to where you need to go while your car is being serviced! I recommend them to ALL my friends .Unmatched Service.

I brought my e-fleet vehicle in for repair and was advised that it was fixed the first time. As soon as I left the shop, I still heard the noise that existed while making turns. I went back and the mechanic decided to hop in for a ride and acknowledged the noise. This is after they fixed I don t know what and charged my company. They asked me to come back when I can so that they can try to fix it again. I rescheduled and same thing, they charged my company and the problem wasn t solved. I learned my lesson and took it to the experts who took care of my issue.Don t know how they re a mechanic shop and couldn t fix the problem when another shop took care of it right away.Unsatisfied and wasted a lot of time with no car.Service: Steering & suspension repair

After finding and taking our cars to AAMCO of Hackettstown, and meeting Aaron and Mark, we will never take our vehicles anywhere else. It is the first time ever that we have complete confidence in the diagnosis of and the work performed on our vehicles. Everything is very thoroughly explained to us and we trust these guys. They are incredibly honest and will not try to upsell anything to you. It gives us such peace of mind that we have finally found truly honest, trustworthy people and top notch technicians to take care of our cars for us. They will not only give you great value for your money, they will make you happy you walked in the door. My first time but won't be my last! Completely professional and honest business! My check engine light came on and started to over heat last night. Caused complete worry to say the least, I explained my situation, they conducted a thorough check and determined it was no need for alarm! They could have overcharged me running unnecessary test but stated they were not necessary! UPDATE: I had to bring the car back due to the same problem and like before they took their time, examined the issue and found it needed a new head gasket. I found a $20 coupon online but they offered a $50 coupon! Who could beat that! I appreciate honest businesses especially in a pandemic when money is tight! I highly recommend this business! Truly professional and caring workers! Thank you for putting the customer first!

Mark and his crew at the Hackettstown AAMCO are simply the best. We have been going to AAMCO for all our automotive needs for 12 years, whether they are commercial or personal. They work on seven of our professional vehicles, and three of our own personal ones. We don't go anywhere else! They quote fair prices, do excellent work, and are kind and patient when you are describing what is wrong with your vehicle. The are reliable, honest, and hardworking; an excellent combo. Not to mention, their customer service is top notch and any representatives of the company conduct themselves with professionalism and with understanding. Don't take your car anywhere else- the buck stops here.

Had some leaky valve covers causing my wires and spark plugs to be soaked in oil. They fixed it right up and car runs better than ever. Fair price and friendly staff. It should be noted I had a minor issue when they returned the car to me which seems like a negative. However, they were really understanding and made a quick adjustment the next day and problem was mitigated in 15-20 mins with no extra charge. As long as I live around here I will trustingly take my vehicle there.

Mark and Ben are so professional and great to work with. They listened to my concerns and issues with both my vehicles, a Ford Pleasure-Way RV and a 1992 Ford Bronco. I can not say enough good things about Hackettstown AAMCO Total Car Care. We have been going there for years and we truly feel like we are part of an extended family. Mark and his crew are top notch in everything they do. They do excellent work and their prices are fair.It's a pleasure to drop our car off and know the service we need will be handled by a crack team of auto repair professionals who not only take care of the issue they were advised about, but if they notice anything else, they will let us know and give us the information we need to make the right decision.Hackettstown AAMCO Total Car Care is a 5 star business, and we have used them for all our cars and will continue to do so. I have been going to Aamco Hackettstown for years. I should have written this 5 star review years ago. The good news is that over the years the high quality of service and honesty has remained excellent so I can still highly recommend their services.The entire team is knowledgeable and friendly.I had a Lexus that they helped repair and maintain until I traded it in with over 225,000 miles on it. I now have a Honda CRV and I wouldn t take it anywhere else. I ve had everything from oil changes, to battery changes, timing belt changes, new brake pads and calipers, recharging AC, cracked wheel bearings, repair of the entire front end after hitting a deer including a new radiator, etc repaired/serviced by this team.I once must have had water in my gas tank because my car would not start at all. I had it towed to Aamco Htown , they checked it out and it started running. Apparently, there was nothing wrong with it so they were honest and told me there was nothing to fix. If they were dishonest, they could ve told me something was wrong and charged me an arm and a leg, but instead they sent me home and didn t even charge me to look at it!Another time, smoke started coming from my tire while I was driving on the highway. I pulled over and called Aamco to see what I should do and Mark talked me through it and took my car in right away to make repairs to a stuck caliper.My latest issue was a little mouse who liked to sleep between my hood and it s insulation and he chewed through the windshield wiper fluid line. Aaron squeezed me in to get it repaired right away.I can t say enough good things about this local business. Was stranded. Made an appointment at 2 am for 8:30 am. Got towed and was met with the best professional guy Mark. They rebuilt my Nissan juke transmission for the second time- completely due the vehicle and myself- and once again it drives like nothing happened. I'm not entirely sure how they do such a good job but I'm happy they are around and for as long as I live nearby, I'll always go to them for these serious jobs. They literally never let me dowm

We wanted to take some time and make this post about Ben from the AAMCO in Hackettstown NJ and his services. He is the HONEST person, if ever you need any help with your vehicle please go see him. His attention to detail and great communication skills put ease into our situation. We won't hesitate to bring future clients to this establishment. It's a very positive organize, and welcome environment. Our HRV is running better than it has in a while, and we give credit to BEN. We will recommend his business to others in the future, and of course, we will return to him in the future. We recommend BEN to train employees at a cooperate level. He was very knowledgeable about our vehicle and recalls compare to the others. He was able to save us thousands of dollars. Our world would be a much better place if we have kinder people like him, who would take the time to understand clients and their needs. I have a work truck that was in bad shape, the trans and engine needed serious attention and I still had to pay every month but couldn't drive it. I took a chance and stopped in and spoke to them about my problem. At that point we set up an appointment and they gave me a fair estimate. We went forward. I thought i wouldn't see the truck for weeks. I don't think it took a week and they were on the phone with me letting me know it was done. When I picked up the vehicle it ran great all issues were gone. These guys really know there stuff. I was in the auto repair business for many years and know when someone is unqualified. These guys are great and I would highly recommend them for all you need for your vehicles. A big THANK YOU !! to you guys.

Excellent shop. I've taken my family's cars there for years for routine service and repair work. Very knowledgeable and skilled staff - all work is done right the first time, delivered as promised and at a fair price. They diagnose problems and don't just throw parts at the car, like at some car dealerships. Very accommodating of customers, have a comfortable waiting area. Overall, a far better service experience than at dealerships where I used to take the cars. I highly recommend this shop.

This place is great! My Subaru was sitting for a year and I took it to this AAMCO and they got me up and running in no time and for a great price. Having to get 4 new brakes - pads and rotors - is never fun. The staff at AAMCO in Hackettstown really made the experience not only bearable, but actually really pleasant. Their prices are unbeatable. That being said, I hadn't budgeted for 4 new brakes. But, they worked with me as far as payment. They were so kind, understanding, and honest with me about what I needed. My car is driving like new. I will no longer go anywhere else for my automotive needs, as no one else in the area compares!
