Mike and the V team saved the day for me and my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Another shop in Freehold literally destroyed my car, and mike was able to fix it "THE RIGHT WAY". And quickly! They have excellent communication and help you out however they can. I sold cars for 14 years, so I can call myself a car-guy. They know what they're doing.

I have been going to this garage for over 25 years and I m saying GOODBYE!!! They have let Pete go, he is the nicest and most likable and honest person you could ever meet it s such a shame. Today we were blindsided by a bill for over $1000 my husband went in for a tune up and they charged $700 for labor. Stay away!!! We will follow Pete as soon as I can find him.

Pete is no longer at Van Def Veer. I would stay away!!! Pete was the most competent, honest mechanic around. Without him this place will rip you off big time! Don t believe any of the fake 5 star reviews.

Mike and the crew took care of my 200k mile Toyota Highlander changing the spark plugs and doing my factory scheduled maintenance has my car feeling brand new again. Will be back for all my routine services

Went to Vanderveer for the first time today and they treated me like family no sales presssure fixed what I needed and changed my wipers and luckily they spotted a brake light bulb out so I wouldn t get pulled over Thanks Mike

Had slow leak in tire for weeks. Pete helped me same day of making appointment. Repaired my tire and recalibrated the sensors which were off! I was so happy leaving with my tires as good as new!! I highly recommend Van Derveer's!!

Under new ownership and ignores specific requests and/or anything difficult. Not only that... I had to ask about my list of tasks item by item when I picked up my "ready" car with only half the tasks complete.FYI: 15 year old Honda (automatic) with new engine and mostly new parts.--The TPMS light on my dash is on, reset system. Car was returned to me with TPMS light still on. (ignored)--Replacing the power steering hose that has a slow leak. I was told it's just a slow leak and they didn't do it because something else might break in the process? What? (ignored)--Tightening my emergency brake (it doesn't hold, which I noticed when I was preparing to do my own brakes). Answer: "it is probably the boot near the brake calipers." Yes, that's where the emergency brake is... which is why I wanted a trained mechanic to do a safety check.--Replacing the sensor that tells my car the car is in park. Sometimes I have to put car into reverse and then back into park before the starter will engage. (ignored)So they charged me to do the easiest stuff on the list at $200/hour (that I could have done myself, but added since it was already going to the shop) and then ignored all the real reasons the car was there. I never thought I'd say this--but I regret not taking it to the dealership.My family has been going here for 40 years, but we will be finding a new mechanic for all of our cars.

Fair and Honest work. One example, took car in for oil change and brakes, turns out the brakes had another 10k miles on them so they were cleaned and I got my oil change for the price of an oil change at a dealership. Most shops would just change the brakes without even looking at them, then recommend else that does not really need to be done.

I have been bringing my cars in for repairs, tires and oil changes for over a year now and I have to say that they are very honest, very reasonable and they always fix the problem!! I can t say enough good things about my experience with them. It is very hard to find a great mechanic but look no more because all you have to do is call them and ask for Pete!! Tell him Vikki sent you!

Excellent service! Had a flat tire but was able to get my truck over to them in the afternoon, left my truck overnight (by my choice) and they had a new tire they ordered on by 9:30 following morning. Great and friendly guys! Will go back for whatever auto needs I have.

Dropped off my fathers pickup truck told Joe seems like brakes are bad..Joe called back that afternoon said that the brakes were in very good shape just needed to replace rotors.My father picked up his truck next day Pete was there and he charged my father for brakes and rotors.My father asked Pete why are you charging me for brakes when Joe said they were in very good shape. Pete became very short and told my father he could'nt remember.My father called back a number of times and pete would tell him that joe is on vacation and semi retired. Did Joe sell his business to Pete ? If so we need to find another place to have our cars serviced. Can anyone make a recommendation ?

My whole family has been using Van Derveer's for years. They've never overcharged us and have, on several occasions, done work for nothing. For instance, we had a bad banging sound from the rear of our firebird and they found that it was simply a broken exhaust mount. total cost: 0 dollars. True, we did bring them all of our cars, but they always explained all of the work we were doing and they always explained what work was "required".We've brought in our mustang, firebird, camry, station wagon, oldsmobile, and our grand am. They treated ever car as if it was their own!A one point, I went to bring in my Subaru WRX and they simply said that they don't feel comfortable doing engine work on the car. To me, THAT was the sign of a great mechanic!Trust them with your cars. We still do (for well over a decade)!
