I had an amazing experience today at this location. I think the guys name was Connor. He was super friendly and explained everything to me. I used to go to Mavis for oil changes but every time I went something was wrong with my almost brand new car lol. Although the prices are a little higher here, I enjoy the customer service much more , and to me thats worth the extra $$. They also give you a coupon for the car wash next door which is pretty cool!!! All around great experience. 10/10 !!!

So today I got my oil changed, and I want to state that I ve had great service there in the past but I think a lot of new mechanics work and run the business now and the last few times I ve had issues with their service.First, usually with the oil change they will check everything and I don t under why they don t anymore. Didn t check the tire pressure, didn t ask if I wanted my cabin filter checked, just lights and stuff under the hood. Which cool, the oil and fluid are most important but honestly it comes off lazy not to ask.Second, I m a woman.. I understand a lot of women don t know a lot about cars, but don t judge a book by its cover. I personally know the basics. Basically what I need to know to keep it lasting..So when the one guy (dont know his name) come up to my window and says you need your battery changed, the caps are melting and it s going to explode soon I was hesitant to believe him. He asked when I got it last replaced first before saying any of this, so instantly I was annoyed I couldn t remember. I said it may have been awhile, like 4 years. Honestly I was sure. So I think that was his question to try and take advantage. The other person who initially was helping me didn t even say anything when he first opened the hood and looked at the appearance on everything first so either he s neglectful or the other guy is a big liar trying to make extra commission or whatever off a dumb girl . I ended up stopping at pepboys on the way home and had them look at it and test it. I have a printed copy of the test result and he said it was fine. And then I asked if they saw anything melting and he said no. Then I looked at it again when I got home, looked normal to me. I even called the place I got the battery and they confirmed it s actually only 2 years old.And finally, a few visits ago, my mom and I went together with both our cars. The same kid who helped me today was talking to thd other guy behind my car and my mom heard since she was right behind me. He said something along the lines of tell her that she needs a new ____ I honestly forget what it was they were trying to sell me on. But my mom heard and brought it up to the old manager there,Charles, who I m not sure works there anymore now. Haven t seen him lately. But he took care of it immediately reprimanding them and apologizing to both of us. So it s not the first time they ve tried to rip me off.So needless to say I feel annoyed with them and think I won t go there anymore. I went for the convenience but it s not convenient for someone to try to charge you for something you don t need. I even asked the kid helping me how much it would cost, totally out of curiosity with no intentions of letting them replace it. They said it would be $170 alone. And with my oil change that s almost $300. Yeah ok. No. I m livid they even tried. Here s a photo of my pepboys battery test:

Second time I tried this place and regretted it again. Worst oil change experience of my life. Overcharged additional $25 for "extra oil". Then they refused to accept their own coupon. When I asked to have my tires filled the guy helping me instructed the tecs to fill the tires to 38lbs I informed him that the manufacture label on the door says to fill to 32lbs. He informed me that they "overfill the tires". When I pulled out I realized they only filled 3 of the 4 tires anyway.

A bunch of lazy employees work here. I showed up at 4:40 for a 15 minute oil change and they told me they re closed when the sign clearly says they close at 5:00pm. I m sure their laziness transfers to their workmanship, so I d recommend going somewhere else that works til closing.

This place isn t bad, it s quick usually. Oil change is fine. Service is fine. I do not recommend this location though - go somewhere else because the workers here can be extremely rude and try to make you feel stupid.Some of the guys that work here are very unprofessional as you can see from the other reviews here. They make unnecessary, demeaning comments to you about your car if you are over the recommended mileage for an oil change, or if you decline for them to change your air filter for an exorbitant price . I go there for an oil change, not to hear about how shocked they are that my car is still functioning when it s over the recommended mileage your shop gives. I m well aware the mileage recommendation given is just a way to make more money by having people come in more who dont know about oil changes. It s extremely unprofessional and rude. We re not all stupid and clueless about our cars. If I wanted an opinion I would see a mechanic not an oil change guy.Not every worker here is like that, there s some good ones. But the comments really should stop because I can tell these guys are low key trying to make you feel stupid when you pull in. There s literally no reason to be rude whatsoever. Clearly an ongoing issue and I am considering no longer using this location.

Only thing I'm not happy about is labor cost for bringing your own oil was $39, it's now $59, big jump.Still relatively affordable. The techs are extremely friendly and helpful. Place moves quickly too.

*** do not come here!!! ***I went here twice to get an oil change because it was close to my house. The reason I went back a second time was because my car said it was low on oil! The manager topped it off but then a week later it said I had no oil AGAIN in my car. I then decided to take the car to the actual dealership and the gentleman said I had no oil whatsoever in the car and the filter was not changed. I am more than upset about this as I could of had some major issues with my car. I m going to get my money back!! Do not give your business to this place!!!!

Called ahead for availability of battery. Got to the facility, got in line and in about 40-45 minutes drove out with a new battery installed. Joe, the manager, was welcoming, courteous, and honest. Actually found us a less expensive Interstate battery for our car which saved us about $40. Garage was clean & organized. May have been our first time at Valvoline but it won t be our last.Service: Battery

Great service, very pleasant experience. I chose this place because they let you stay in the car during the oil change process. I went last week on Monday, around 3pm so there was no line and only 3 cars inside being serviced. I only waited about 3 minutes. Then an employee raised the door and directed me to drive my car inside the garage and he initiated the service within a couple minutes. The employee was very friendly and knowledgeable. He typed in my vehicle data into computer and told me which oil was compatible with my vehicle, changed the oil, put air in the tires and completed all of the basics included in the oil change process. Then he advised me of the optional extras: vehicle fluids that were low and an old filter that could use replacing. He explained the function of each fluid and the filter and the prices and let me decide. He even showed me my old filter and a new one so I could see how filthy the old one was in comparison. He was not pushy at all, no pressure. He was informative, patient (with my questions) & thorough. I would say the whole thing, including my wait time took about 20 minutes. I was in & out. He also informed me that the busiest times with the longest waits are weekends (any time) and weekdays (lunch time only), so I suggest avoiding those peak times if possible. I will definitely take my car here again & recommend Valvoline to others.

The guy guiding me in was incapable of giving clear and concise instructions and they followed that up with insinuating that I followed his instructions incorrectly. How am I supposed to trust you with changing my oil if I can t trust you to give me proper instructions when guiding me into the bay? I gladly took my car to a garage down the road. I ll be taking my 6 cars for oil changes elsewhere after using Valvoline for years. My oil still got changed and you still work a job you hate so what exactly did you accomplish by being rude to me? I suppose you have a bit less work to do from now on so maybe to you that s a win. You certainly look like the lazy type

Have had good experiences here before. But the person who helped me today (wearing a cross earring) acted like I was doing him a favor by coming there. Did not help me rest the oil light. Got upset I did not show him the Groupon at the beginning even though I told him I had a Groupon. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Super easy & convenient. You just pull up, a tech will show you the options for oil change, confirm, and you wait in the car while they change the oil, top off fluids. friendly & polite staff.

Be aware! One of the guys who works there started yelling and making comments about me very loudly and discussing that I didn t backup properly ( I wasn t told to) with others, very angry and inappropriate! When I directly asked him if there was a problem, gave me an attitude! This place is great for the impatient customer. You're literally in and out, and the employees definitely know what they're doing. They're at muscle memory level now, goat. I was instructed to come in, asked for details of the vehicle as the employee filled the information in on the desktop, provided a choice of oils for my car and then they moved like the Tazmanian devil, swirling around my car checking everything and adding whatever was needed.I was presented a concluding document and wished a good day, which is good enough for me. I would have liked a lower price but for that kind of convenience, I'm happy to shell out $30 more than I would have to sit at Pep Boys for 4 hours.

Just moved to the area and needed an oil change badly. Staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. Topped off all fluids, checked tire pressure, air filter, wipers,etc. All in the comfort of my car!!! I didn't have to get out of my car. I loved that about it. I needed an oil change desperately, was short on time. I typically go to the service dept. at the car dealership but I didn t make an appointment so I decided to try out Valvoline, as they are conveniently located right next to the car wash on Rt 33, which was my next stop. I m so glad I did. I couldn t have asked for better service. Everyone was nice, polite, helpful, courteous and not at all intimidating as some techs and employees at other places can be.They explained each thing they were doing, down to the type of oil they were using. It was clean, quick - like 15 minutes, and so easy . I never even got out of the car. The manager went out of his way to be accommodating which is rare these days. He even fixed the shelf in my glove compartment. Thank you! They told me all their names but unfortunately, I can t recall them but I definitely want to give a shout out to everyone working there on Saturday morning, May 15. Great job, guys and thank you! I definitely recommend Valvoline on Rt. 33 in Freehold and they absolutely will get my repeat business.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Have only ever come here for oil changes, but the most recent visit staff member s were extremely rude and judgmental for being a over recommended mileage. Staff members berated me to the point I left crying before they even started with the oil change. Will not be returning. These guys are great. They are friendly and informative and do great work. I once went and they were unable to service my car because of a major oil leak however before I left they filled my washer fluid, filled my tires, and checked my coolant before letting me go. 100%recommend

They were fast, professional and kind. I didn t have any of my cards with my so I was thankful to see they took Apple Pay. They showed me which type of oil my truck needed and even helped me figure out how to reset the oil change light. Thank you guys!!

In and out with friendly service. Charles, the manager, is a real nice guy too. They'll let you know what your car is due for but there's never a pushy sales pitch. There might be someplace a little cheaper but the convenience and the employees are worth it.

TDLR: super friendly and knowledge crew. Took the time to explain everything to me.Had a coupon so decided to stop here for my oil change. Their 4 bays were full and they told me I had about a 25 minute wait. Their estimate was on point. Went a little long since my last oil change and so the oil was dark. The manager Charles provided a in-depth explanation of the flush that I needed. And went ahead to provide quick great service.Would highly recommend and definitely will be coming back! (On time, next time)
